城间城_Cities_Between_Cities
The frenetic pace of urbanization and economic convergence between Shenzhen and Hong Kong has revealed stark contrasts in geographical and social development while also opening up many opportunities for collaboration and constructive exchange. As the prominent sociologist David Harvey and others have observed, broad-based wealth creation depends on social collaboration and cooperation rather than an individualized Darwinian competition for survival. Collaboration in an urban context relies on equally dynamic and adaptable environments, which is why the design and production of space and place are critical. Here, we offer a utopian vision to transform the limited functions of the border port facilities to better serve the common interests of Shenzhen and Hong Kong in the years leading up to the removal of the border in 2047. “Cities between Cities” envisions a Living City, Learning City, Caring City, and a Trading City to address the major challenges of housing, education, pensioner care, and cross-border trade. Cities Between Cities Shenzhen & HongkongExhibitors:2013 The 5th Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (UABB)2014 Shenzhen Design Exhibition, Munich 2018 San Etienne BiennaleManaging Partner: Chen Zetao, Su Jinlefu, Lu Zhiwei Project Leader: Zeng Lianggao, Hu TuofuProject team: Wen Jialin, Feng Shijin, Chen Xuedan, Tang Jiajian, Eelke, Matthew, Xu Xiaoxiao, Xie Jie, Long Yufei, Pan Yumo参展:2013 第五届深港城市\建筑双城双年展2014 慕尼黑深圳设计展2018 圣艾蒂安双年展主管合伙人:陈泽涛,苏晋乐夫,卢志伟项目负责人:曾梁高,胡拓夫项目组:温加林,冯诗瑾,陈雪丹,汤嘉健,Eelke,Matthew,许潇啸,谢洁,龙宇飞,潘雨墨20 WORLD ARCHITECTURE REVIEW 坊城设计建筑事务所专辑SPECIAL ISSUE ON FCHA香港已经陷入住房短缺的危机,而边界对面的深圳,房价比香港要低得多,人均居住面积也远高于香港。

It is a holiday of love and romance usually by exchanging valentines or love tokens between lovers. There are different origins regarding the festival. One legend goes that the Romans put a priest named Saint Valentine into prison for refusing to believe in the Roman gods. On February 14, Valentine was put to death not only because he was Christian, but also because he had cured the jailer's daughter of blindness.
The high Eiffel Tower, the colorful streets, the beautiful river Seine, the glorious palaces, the romantic people, the old history … Paris is a great place to all people in the world. As the capital of France, Paris is a modern city with a long and rich history. So many events took place here and there are so many places for the visitors to have a trip.
The Triumphal Arch(凯旋门)was finished in 1836. It’s a world famous building, too.The Eiffel Tower(埃菲尔铁塔), which is 320 meters high, is the symbol of Paris. It was completed in 1889.320米高的埃费尔铁塔是巴黎的标志。
它建于1889年埃菲尔铁塔The Eiffel Tower (French: La Tour Eiffel, [tuʁɛfɛl], nickname La dame de fer, the iron lady) is a puddle iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. Built in 1889, it has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris[10] and the most-visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named for its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair. The tower stands 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an81-storey building. Upon its completion, it surpassed the Washington Monument to assume the title of tallest man-made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in New York City was built in 1930; however, due to the addition in 1957 of the antenna, the tower is nowtaller than the Chrysler Building. Not including broadcast antennas, it is the second-tallest structure in France after the 2004 Millau Viaduct. The tower has three levels for visitors. Tickets can be purchased to ascend, by stairs or lift, to the first and second levels. The walk to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the walk from the first to the second level. The third and highest level is accessible only by elevator. Both the first and second levels feature restaurants. The tower has become the most prominent symbol of both Paris and France, often in the establishing shot of films set in the city. The Arc de Triomphe (Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile) is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle (originally named Place de l'Étoile), at the western end of theChamps-Élysées.[1] There is a smaller arch, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, which stands west of the Louvre. The Arc de Triomphe (in English: "Triumphal Arch") honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and the Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Beneath its vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.The Arc de Triomphe is the linchpin of the historic axis (Axe historique) — a sequence of monuments and grand thoroughfares on a route which goes from the courtyard of the Louvre, to the Grande Arche de la Défense. The monument was designed by Jean Chalgrin in 1806, and its iconographic program pitted heroically nude French youths against bearded Germanic warriors in chain mail. It set the tone for public monuments, with triumphant patriotic messages. The monument stands 50 metres (164 ft) in height, 45 m (148 ft) wide and 22 m (72 ft) deep. The large vault is 29.19 m (95.8 ft) high and 14.62 m (48.0 ft) wide. The small vault is 18.68 m (61.3 ft) high and 8.44 m (27.7 ft) wide. It is the second largest triumphal arch in existence (after Arch of Triumph in Pyongyang). Its design was inspired by the Roman Arch of Titus. The Arc de Triomphe is so colossal that three weeks after the Paris victory parade in 1919, marking the end of hostilities in World War I, Charles Godefroy flew his Nieuport biplane through it, with the event captured on newsreel. France is the most visited country in the world. It has everything that you could ever want tosee on your holidays: a great city like Paris, good beaches, more monuments than any other country, lovely nature, incredible mountain scenery; need I go on? France is also a very pleasant place to stay. It has good food, great wines and people enjoy their lives. And the best thing is, maybe apart from Paris, living in France does not have to be expensive. The Northof France consists of the flatlands around thetown of Lille and the Channel. The area will remind visitors in many ways of Belgium and the Netherlands. The Grand' Place in Lille for example is a lot like that of Brussels.Paris, the city of light and its surroundings are one of the most visited areas. Paris is without a doubt one of the most beautiful cities on the planet. FRANCE TRA VEL INFOShare your photosHotels in FranceFrench coursesMaps of FranceFrance forumsFrance destinationsBest of FranceFrance Real EstateWest of France is turned towards the Atlantic Coast. In the north Normandy & Brittany have rolling hills, sandy beaches and quiet little harbour towns. Normandy & Brittany have a more rugged coast and many neolithic sites. It has quite a distinct atmosphere from the rest of the country; you can still sense the Celtic origin of the region and its inhabitants. The eastern part of France consists of the Alsace, Lorraine, Franche Comt?and Burgundy regions. The landscape has rolling hills and many beautiful cities, such as Metz, Strasbourg, Nancy and Dijon. This region produces many famous wines, including magnificent pinot noirs and chardonnays valued the world over, as well as the famous "Y ellow wine" from the Jura mountain vineyard. The Center of France is in many ways the most quiet part of France. But the great treasure of this region is the Loire valley , with many great castles and beautiful towns. Chartres with its famous cathedral and Tours rate among the most beautiful French cities. The Alps are great for skiing in winter and hiking in summer. Albertville, Grenoble and Chamonix have all hosted the Olympic games. But the Alps also have nice towns to visit, such as Chamb閞y, Annecy or Grenoble .The South with its lovely nature, good food, roman ruins and of course the Riviera draws a lot of visitors every year. Towns like Orange, and Arles but also big cities like Marseille and Toulon are must sees. The Provence is dotted with pleasant small villages. In the South west of France the Dordogne is one of the most quintessential French regions. The valley is so pretty, the towns are so cute and the food is so good, that it is hard to believe that the people who live here go somewhere else for their holidays. The Languedoc has its own language and culture. In the southof the Languedoc you find the Pyrenees, a great mountain range separating France from Spain, where you can hike and ski. The towns of Toulouse and Montpellier are nice and the medieval town of Carcassone is a top destination.美食French FoodFrench cuisine is extremely diverse, with only the Chinese having similar variety in their food. This variety is supported by the French passion for good food in all its forms, France's extraordinary range of different geographies and climates which support the local production of all types of ingredients, and France's long and varied history. In many ways, an understanding of the culture of French food is an understanding of France itself.Meals range from the very basic, such as the traditional baguette plus cheese plus inexpensive wine, to very elaborate affairs than can involve a dozen courses and different wines consumed over several hours. Obviously, the latter type of dining is exceptional for most people. However, it is this more sophisticated dining which is typically found in "French restaurants" outside France, giving many foreigners the mistaken impression that French food is heavy and complicated. In fact, much of the French cuisine is fairly simple, relying on high quality fresh ingredients and loving preparation rather than complex recipes. It is common in much of France to take a two hour break for lunch, with many working parents (particularly in villages and smaller towns) returning home for lunch. In some areas, mainly in the south of France, even longer lunch breaks are taken. Due to the long lunch break, businesses which close for this period typically reopen around 2PM or so and then stay open until about 7PM.

Lujiazui, located in the Pudong New Area of Shanghai, is a bustling financial district and a symbol of China's rapid economic development. It is renowned for its modern architecture, which showcases the country's ambitious spirit and innovative designs. In this article, we will explore some of the most iconic buildings in Lujiazui and their significance in shaping the city's skyline. One of the most recognizable landmarks in Lujiazui is the Oriental Pearl Tower. Standing at a height of 468 meters, it was once the tallest building in China. Its unique design, resembling a giant pearl rising from the Huangpu River, has made it a popular tourist attraction. The tower consists of 11 spheres of different sizes, with observation decks offering panoramic views of Shanghai. It serves as a symbol of Shanghai's modernization and its ambition to become a global metropolis.Next to the Oriental Pearl Tower is the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC). With a height of 492 meters, it is currently the second tallest building in China. The observation deck on the 100th floor provides visitors with breathtaking views of the city. The SWFC represents Shanghai's emergence as an international financial hub and its aspiration to compete with global financial centers like New York and London.Another prominent building in Lujiazui is the Jin Mao Tower. Soaring to a height of 632 meters, it is a testament to China's engineering prowess and architectural innovation. The tower's spiral shape and double-skin façade not only enhance its aesthetic appeal but also improve its energy efficiency. The Shanghai Tower houses offices, a luxury hotel, cultural amenities, and observation decks on the upper floors. It represents Shanghai's commitment to sustainable development and its ambition to lead in green architecture. In addition to these iconic buildings, Lujiazui is also home to numerous other modern architectural wonders. The Bank of China Tower, the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and the Shanghai Tower Plaza are just a few examples of the district's architectural diversity. The harmonious coexistence of these buildings creates a visually stunning skyline that reflects Shanghai's status as a global city.In conclusion, Lujiazui's modern architecture is a testament to Shanghai's rapid development and its ambition to become a global economic powerhouse. The Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai Tower are just a few examples of the district's architectural marvels. For the woman in the following dialogue, it’s fashionable to wear the weird(怪异的)hat. Read the following dialogue and discuss with your group members: What is fashionable in your life today?Andy an d Jess are at a fashion designer’s party.A: My God, Jess. What’s that on Betty’s head?J: Beats me. How weird! I think it’s a new kind of hat.A: Oh, really? If you ask me, it’s more like a bird’s nest. How stupid it looks!J: you think so? Hey, wait a minute. You might be right. There’s something moving in the nest (I)mean, hat.A: Gee whiz! It’s a bird.J: Holy cow! How does she keep it from flying away?A: Don’t you see! She’s got it fastened to a gold chain around her neck.J: If the bird were strong enough, it could fly her to the moon, so to speak.A: That would really be funny.J: Well, that’s fashion! What’s Fashionable?SampleNowadays, it’s fashionableto wear clothes, shoes, hats, watches, of famous brands;to dye our hair yellow, or even green;to wave our hair;to use luxurious cosmetics;to tidy up one’s appearance(整容);to keep slim or lose weight;to sing pop songs;to have MP3 or MP4;to use cell phones currently produced;to surf on the Internet;to have a cup of coffee/tea at the bars;to say “cool” when something new or strange happens;to eat at MacDonald or KFC;to drive our own cars to travel;to do sports such as tennis or yoga(瑜伽);to think or act differently from others;so on and so forth.Fashion: Follow or Not?In our daily life, many people spend a lot of money following the latest fashion. Some girls even spend two months’ salary on a fashionable handbag. Work with your group members and discuss: Is it necessary to follow the latest fashion? Why or why not?Sample OneYes, I think we need to follow the latest fashion. Everyone loves beauty, and likes to become attractive. The fashionable clothes, shoes, or makeup can make us more charming and more confident. When in fashion, we are more likely to be admired. It is believed that a good appearance may leave people a good impression in social contacts. Moreover, if we follow the latest fashion, we can contribute to the economic development because our consumption can create more chances of employment for the fashion designers or other people who work in the field of fashion.Sample TwoNo, I think we should not follow the latest fashion. Fashion is always changing. If we follow the latest fashion, it would be too expensive. Top designers try to lead people to follow the fashion every year, but only rich people can afford it. I think fashion is only a tiring game and a commercial exploitation of women and men. Moreover, not all the fashionable things are suitable for us. Therefore, we need to form our own style and fashion.DiscussionEvery year, many top fashion designers gather together in the fashion center of Milan, Paris, New York etc. and hold fashion shows. It’s really like a party and many people enjoy the fashion show. However, still some people think that it really is a kind of luxury and waste. Discuss with your partner and exchange your opinions towards fashion shows.Sample OneFirst I like fashion show very much because of its beauty, and second I can keep myself informed of the fashion at the time even though I won’t exactly follow it all the time. I am quite at ease when I am watching the fashion show, enjoying the music and the beautiful clothes with the beautiful models.DiscussionSample TwoI don’t like fashion show because I don’t care about clothes at all. So I won’t spend my time watching the fashion show. I think it belongs to the pretty girls, and most of clothes on the show are not practical, only for show.Video WatchingMovie TimeText LearningNew Words & Expressionsfashion n. Examples:This is a time when pop music was very much in fashion.
