2018浙江省高考科目考试绍兴市适应性试卷
2018浙江省高考科目考试绍兴市适应性试卷they helped her train for her first marathon.L ea's first marathon took place in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was called“The Flying Pig.”“I wasvery nervous,”she said, “but I had my mom there, so that helped.” Running the race was hard, but the hardest part was when she ran past a cookie factory and smelled cookies at mile 18.“1 just wanted to be don e,”she said. “I was spent, my mom kept me going. It was already her 15thMarathon.”Today, thousands of people run marathons every year. Runners train for months to get ready. To prepare for one of the marathons, Lea ran four to five times every week. On weekdays. shecompleted shorter runs, five or six miles at most. But on the weekends she ran long distances—13 miles, 15 miles, and 20 miles!“I don' t mind training because I get excited about working toward something. And I loverunning with a group of friends and working toward the goal together. But it does take a lot ofTime.”Running a marathon is a great achievement.“it's a great feeling of accomplishment andnothing feels as wonderful as reaching my goal when I cross the finish line,”Lea explained.“I can’t wait for the next one!”21. What contributed to Lea becoming a marathon runner?A. Her great patience and life ambition to be a successful athlete.B. Her strong interest in swimming and long-distance running.C. Her athletic experience and her parents guidance.D. Her love for running with friends and achieving a goal together.22. What does Lea mean by saying“I was spent” in paragraph 3?A. I was extremely exhausted.B. I felt like quit t ing my sporting career.C. I was feeling increasingly nervous.D. I was overcome by hunger.23. How did L ea's feeling of running a marathon change over the years?A. From curiosity to enthusiasm.B. From nervousness to excitement.C. From thrill to boredom.D. From delight to disappointment.BResearchers have discovered an inner ear deficiency(缺陷)in children with Autism SpectrumDisorder (ASD, 自闭症)that may greatly influence their ability to recognize speech. The finding could be used as a way to identify children at risk for the disorder at an early age.“This study is meant to identify a simple and safe method to screen young children for hearing deficiencies that are associated with Autism,” said Anne Luebke, Ph. D, a professor in the University of Rochester. “This tech nique may provide doctors a new window into the disorder and enable us to take earlier action and help achieve desirable outcomes.”ASD is a nerve developmental disorder characterized by damage in social-communication skills and restricted and repetitive behaviors. While many signs of ASD are present before age two, the majority of children with ASD are not diagnosed until after age four, which means that corrective treatments are started later, delaying their potential impact. One of the challenges to earlier detection of ASD is to find ways to identify children at risk forthe disorder sooner and in children with speech delays. Some of th e earliest and continuous signs of ASD involve auditory(听觉)communication, h owever, most tests rely on speech, and are often ineffective in small children who have communication delays. In the new study, researchers used a technique that measures what are called otoacousticemissions(耳声发射). The test is similar to the screening that many newborns must undergo before leaving the hospital to check for hearing problems. Using microphone earplugs, the researchers were able to measure hearing deficiencies by listening for signs that the ear is having trouble processing sounds. Specifically, the microphone can detect minute sound emission made by inner ear outer hair cells in response to even clicking sounds. If these cells are not functioning properly, the device fails to detect an emission, indicating that inner ear function is damaged. The researchers tested the hearing of children between 6 and 17, roughly half of tho sediagnosed with ASD. They found that the children with ASD had hearing difficulty in a specificfrequency that is important for processing speech. They also found a connection between thedegree of inner ear damage and the severity of ASD symptoms.24. What is the main pur pose of the study?A. To explore a method of earlier ASD detection.B. To test the hearing of the children at an earli e r age.C. To overcome children’s inn e r car deficiency by birth.D. To reduce damage in social-communication skills.25. What is the breakthrough in the study of ASD compared with the previous practice?A. It finds that most victims of ASD have signs before age two.B. It switches the focus of study from speech to hearing.C. A specific device is applied to measure and treat the hearing problems.D. The cells not functioning well can be repaired through appropriate treatment.26. It can be inferred from paragraph5 that____________A. children with hearing problems have trouble in controlling behaviorsB. speech delay contributes to the occurrence of ASDC. half of the children diagnosed with ASD suffer from hearing problemsD. the severity of ASD symptoms is linked with the degree of inner car damageCWe give toys to kids who othe rwise wouldn’t have them. Load bags with canned foods for thehungry. Make donations to those who need it. This time of year, it seems, we focus more on doing good and being good. Certainly, that's not a bad thing. But, is all that kindness selfish? Researchers at the University of Califo rn ia, Berkeley say thatkindness, and related qualities like sympathy and compassion are actually a form of self-preser v ation. Those who give more, get more. The most generous among us have grea t erinfluence and are more popular. Whereas, the unkind and unhelpful are more likely to be castadrift from us. After all, it stands to reason, that if I'm paddling your lifeboat, you’ll keep meafloat a little longer. So, is kindness motivated by our real concern for others or are we do-gooders because itmakes us look g ood and shores up our position in the ecosystem? Probably both. Most of us really enjoy helping others. It makes us feel good, connected, happy and that makes for a healthier more satisfying life. But, it doesn’t hurt that we also receive other rewards—status, cooperation, Influence—that will help us survive and become successf ul. Despite all the benefits, I tend most often toward kindness only when it's convenient. Thatdoesn't mean I have bad manners. I say my pleases and thank-yous. I hold the door open forpassengers. But, I could be kinder, more often. Sometimes I'm stopped from doing good by justhow to do it. Sometimes, I'm just not thinking enough about others to recognize the need.Sometimes, I’m plain, old selfish.I'm working to be more aware of those around me. To slow down and move with patience andpurpose on the freeway. T o be more kind. My acts of kindness aren’t complex or flashy—I'm not the type. They aren't expensive —I’m too cheap. But those things aren’t required. You don’t have to feel guilty that your kind gesture wasn't as big as say, Oprah building a school in Africa. Kindness can be a small, simple act and still make an extremely large impact. Notice a need and then consciously offer a bit of yourself.27. What do researchers at the University of California. Berkeley say about kindness?A. Kindness is a behavior for self-protection and survival.B. Kindness reflects the generosity of human nature.C. It is worthwhile to advocate doing good or being good.D. It doesn’t count in building a good relationship.28. According to paragraphs 4-5, the author will show his kindness by ___________A. making large donations to those poor peopleB. doing good to people around him anywhere and anytimeC. smiling and waving at the passenger interrupting him sincerelyD. reminding the passengers to behave themselves forcefully29. From the author's point of view, ____________A. acts of kindness can be something simple and practicalB. acts of kindness should be something impressiveC. kindness starts from some grand and heroic actionsD. kindness is more a matter of awareness in cooperation30. Which of the following might be the best title for the text?A. Kindness: A Quality of SympathyB. Kindness: A Concern for OthersC. Kindness: A win-win QualityD.

1. When you were at school, the last thing you probably wanted to do was spend your weekends going to work. There was homework to do, sport to play and fun to be had. But our parents probably persuaded us to find a job to earn some money and get some life experience. When I was a teenager I had a paper round: delivering newspapers to people's homes. I then progressed to a Saturday job in a supermarket: stacking shelves and working at the checkout.Today in the UK you are allowed to work from the age of 13, and many children do take up part﹣time jobs. It's one of those things that is seen almost as a rite of passage. It's a taste of independence and sometimes a useful thing to put on your CV. Teenagers agree that it teaches valuable lessons about working with adults and also about managing your money. So, that's no bad thing! Some research has shown that not taking on a Saturday or holiday job could be detrimental to a person later on. A 2015 study by the UK Commission on Employment and Skills found that not participating in part﹣time work at school age had been blamed by employers' organizations for young adults being ill﹣prepared for full﹣time employment. But despite this, recent statistics have shown that the number of schoolchildren in the UK with a part﹣time job has fallen by a fifth in the past five years. Young people feel going out to work will delay their performance at school, and they are under more pressure now to study hard and get good exam results ﹣and a good job in the long term. However, Geoff Barton, general secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders, told BBC News that "Properly regulated part time work is a good way of helping young people learn skills that they will need in their working lives." In reality, it's all about getting the right balance between doing part﹣time work and having enough time to study and rest. That seems like something wroth getting up for a Saturday morning.(1)Which of the following in NOT included in the benefits of a Saturday job for school children?________A Providing life experience and chances to be independent.B Helping teenagers obtain good jobs in the future.C Offering a balance between study andrest. D Teaching lessons about managing money.(2)Why was the number of British teenagers with a part﹣time job fallen recently?________A Because they agree it will be harmful to their later life.B Because they want to play sports and have other fun.C Because they are worried it will affect their academic performance.D Because they are under more pressure to find a job in long term.(3)What's the author's attitude towards part﹣time work for teenagers?________A Negative B. C Doubtful D.2. Almost everyone has had the experience of standing at the cash register in front of a long line while a salesclerk struggles to find a bar code or price tag. Instead of taking thetime to call for a price check, the clerk may turn to the customer and ask, "Do you knowwhat the price is? "For every customer who shakes his head "no, " forcing the salesclerk to call for assistance, there is a customer like Irene, a gray﹣haired widow, who loves to get into these situations. Though Irene knows the exact price of everything she purchases, she won't tellit to the salesclerk. She'll say "It's﹩1.98" even when she knows it costs several dollars more. The fact that the salesclerk believes Irene isn't her problem, Irene says, thoughshe'll admit it is one of the few benefits of looking like a nice old lady.Nancy, a math teacher, will never forget the time she was buying clothes for her four children. All of the items were reduced 20 percent from the clearance price. The salesgirl punched (打出)in the first item's price, and then took 20 percent off. So far, so good. Then she entered the price of the second item, subtotaled, and took 20 percent off again. Each time the clerk added another item, she subtotaled first before taking 20 percent off. When the final bill was a little over﹩10, Nancy could hardly believe her eyes. But she paid the bill without saying anything. She told her husband later that many people wouldn't have even noticed what the clerk was doing wrong. "Why should I be penalized (使……处于不利地位)for knowing math? " Nancy argued.A recent college graduate, Jeffrey, can't afford everything he wants. When he got an offer to receive free issues(期刊)of a very expensive magazine, he immediately signed up for a subscription. From the very beginning he planned to cancel the subscription as soon as the free issues ran out. And he did. The problem was that the magazine kept coming anyway and, eventually, Jeffrey was billed for a year's subscription. It took more than a few months of correspondence to get the whole mess settled. And, in the end, Jeffrey did get quite a few issues of the magazine without paying anything. We probably would all agree that Irene, Nancy and Jeffrey are not very good customers. But what does it take to be a good customer? In short, good will. Good will means a customer treats the business honestly and fairly even when he doesn't haveto. Good business policies and good consumer protection against fraud are necessary, but not enough to cover all the possible situations arising between a business and its customers. It takes good will to fill in the cracks. It takes good will to make both good businesses and good customers.(1)Why did the salesclerk believe Irene?________A There was a long queue of customers standing at the cash register.B Irene knew the exact price of everything she purchased.C There was no time to call for a price check.D Irene looked like a respectable old lady.(2)The correct procedure for the salesgirl to perform should have been________.A to add up each item and then take 20% off the total.B to take 20% off the subtotal each time she added a new item.C to take 20% off each item and then take another 20% off the total.D to add up the clearance price of each item.(3)What, in the author's view, should Jeffrey have done to be a good customer?________A He should not have accepted the magazine after the free issues ran out.B He should have canceled the subscription as soon as the free issues ran out.C He should have paid in advance when he signed up for the subscription.D He should not have signed up for the free issues in the first place.3. Aging happens to all of us, and is generally thought of as a natural part of life. It would seem silly to call such a thing a "disease."On the other hand, scientists are increasingly learning that aging and biological age are two different things, and that the former is a key risk factor for conditions such as heart disease, cancer and many more. In that light, aging itself might be seen as something treatable, the way you would treat high blood pressure or a vitamin deficiency.Biophysicist Alex Zhavoronkov believes that aging should be considered a disease. He said that describing aging as a disease creates incentives to develop treatments."It unties the hands of the pharmaceutical (制药的) industry so that they can begin treating the disease and not just the side effects, " he said."Right now, people think of aging as natural and something you can't control, " he said. "In academic circles, people take aging research as just an interest area where they can try to develop interventions(干预). ________, and can do nothing about it except keep people within a certain health range."But if aging were recognized as a disease, he said, "It would attract funding and change the way we do health care. What matters is understanding that aging is curable.""It was always known that the body accumulates damage, " he added. "The only way to cure aging is to find ways to repair that damage. I think of it as preventive medicine for age ﹣related conditions."Leonard Hayflick, a professor at the University of California, San Francisco, said the idea that aging can be cured implies the human lifespan can be increased, which some researchers suggest is possible. Hayflick is not among them."There're many people who recover from cancer, stroke, or heart disease. But they continue to age, because aging is separate from their disease, " Hayflick said. "Even if those causes of death were eliminated, life expectancy would still not go much beyond 92 years."(1)What does Alex Zhavoronkov think about aging?________A It is silly to regard aging as a disease.B Aging is more risky thancancer. C Describing aging as a disease will help to develop treatments. D Aging is natural and there is no way to control it.(2)What does the underlined sentence in Para.4 mean?________A The medical community is quite interested in aging research.B The medical community thinks of aging uncontrolled.C The medical community is working hard on stopping aging.D The medical community keeps people healthy so as to slow their aging.(3)What does Professor Leonard Hayflick believe?________A Aging can be possibly cured in the future.B Aging is closely connected with disease.C Most people still can live beyond 92 years.D The human lifespancannot be increased.(4)The above passage is most likely to be________.A a news story.B a science report.C a medical review.D an introduction to diseases.第二节4. Much of our entertainment and education comes from using them, so it's no wonder we spend so much time staring at them. But even if the saying that looking at a screen for too long gives you square eyes isn't true, there is still some concern that it can affect your eyesight. So, should we be worried? Certainly for children who spend hours glued to a screen there is a concern that their health might be at risk. And their eyesight is worseningtoo. Although there's not much evidence to prove this yet, recent findings have openedour eyes to the issue.Chris Hammond, consultant of ophthalmic(眼科的) surgeon at St Thomas' Hospital said "We know that short﹣sightedness is becoming more common. It has spread greatly in East Asia, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, where approaching 90% of 18﹣year﹣olds are now short﹣sighted."Annegret expert at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London says lack of natural light seems to be the key issue. She's suggested that children in East Asia study a lot, using computers, smartphones or tablets, and they are go outside less, which could be a cause of short﹣sightedness. Wearing glasses is one solution, but it's not ideal(理想的).This leads to a dilemma: achieving short﹣term academic success or protecting your long﹣term eyesight. It's always going to be a challenge to drag children away from their screens and it's likely that more and more studying will be done online, through a screen. But despite that, Professor Hammond says, "in countries like urban China, where 10%of children in each class per year are becoming short﹣sighted from about the age of six, there's an argument for saying we should be trying to prevent it." It's evidence we can'tturn a blind eye to. So, maybe it's time to hit the "off" button and get our children outside?________2018年浙江省名校联盟联考高考英语三模试卷答案1. CCD2. DAC3. CBDB4. F,D,B,G,C5. ARunning a marathon is not easy. It takes hard work, practice, and patience. After all, to run a marathon, you have to run 26.2 miles by foot! Think about it this way: 26.2 miles is the same as running the length of a football field more than 460 times. It takes most people four or five hours to finish.By the age of 30, Lea Tambellini had run more than five marathons and had no plans to stop. She had always been an athlete. When she was in high school, she swam on her school’s swim team and ran to stay healthy and active. Her mom and dad ran marathons, and when she was 22, they helped her train for her first marathon.Lea’s first marathon took place in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was called “The Flying Pig.” “I was very nervous,”she said, “but I had my mom there, so that helped.” Running the race was hard, but the hardest part was when she ran past a cookie factory and smelled cookies at mile 18. “I just wanted to be done,” she said. “I was spent, but my mom kept me going. It was already her 15th marathon.”Today, thousands of people run marathons every year. Runners train for months to get ready. To prepare for one of the marathons, Lea ran four to five times every week. On weekdays, she completed shorter runs, five or six miles at most. But on the weekends she ran long distances —13 miles, 15 miles, and 20 miles!“I don’t mind training because I get excited about working toward something. And I love running with a group o f friends and working toward the goal together. But it does take a lot of time.”Running a marathon is a great achievement. “It’s a great feeling of accomplishment and nothing feels as wonderful as reaching my goal when I cross the finish line,” Lea explained. “I can’t wait for the next one!”21. What contributed to Lea becoming a marathon runner?A. Her great patience and life ambition to be a successful athlete.B. Her strong interest in swimming and long-distance running.C. Her athletic experience and her parents guidance.D. Her love for running with friends and achieving a goal together.22. What does Lea mean by saying “I was spent” in paragraph 3?A. I was extremely exhausted.B. I felt like quitting my sporting career.C. I was feeling increasingly nervous.D. I was overcome by hunger.23. How did Lea’s feeling of running a marathon change over the years?A. From curiosity to enthusiasm.B. From nervousness to excitement.C. From thrill to boredom.D. From delight to disappointment.BResearchers have discovered an inner ear deficiency (缺陷) in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD,自闭症) that may greatly influence their ability to recognize speech. The findings could be used as a way to identify children at risk for the disorder at an e arly age. “This study is meant to identify a simple and safe method to screen young children for hearing deficiencies that are associated with Autism,” said Anne Luebke, Ph.D., a professor in the University of Rochester. “This technique may provide doctors a new window into the disorder and enable us to take earlier action and help achieve desirable outcomes.”ASD is a nerve developmental disorder characterized by damage in social-communication skills andrestricted and repetitive behaviors. While many signs of ASD are present before age two, the majority of children with ASD are not diagnosed until after age four, which means that corrective treatments are started later, delaying their potential impact. One of the challenges to earlier detection of ASD is to find ways to identify children at risk for the disorder sooner and in children with speech delays. Some of the earliest and continuous signs of ASD involve auditory (听觉) communication, however, most tests rely on speech, and arc often ineffective in small children who have communication delays. In the new, study, researchers used a technique that measures what are called otoacoustic emissions (耳声发射). The test is similar to the screening that many newborns must undergo before leaving the hospital to check for hearing problems. Using microphone earplugs, the researchers were able to measure hearing deficiencies by listening for signs that the car is having trouble processing sounds. Specifically, the microphone can detect minute sound emission made by inner ear outer hair cells in response to even clicking sounds. If these cells are not functioning properly, the device fails to detect an emission, indicating that inner car function is damaged The researchers tested the hearing of children between 6 and 17, roughly half of those diagnosed with ASD. They found that the children with ASD had hearing difficulty in a specific frequency that is important for processing speech. They also found a connection between the degree of inner ear damage and the severity of ASD symptoms.24. What is the main purpose of the study?A. To explore a method of earlier ASD detection.B. To test the hearing of the children at an earlier age.C. To overcome children’s inner ear deficiency by birth.D. It can be inferred from paragraph 5 that ▲.A. children with hearing problems have trouble in controlling behaviorsB. speech delay contributes to the occurrence of ASDC. half of the children diagnosed with ASD suffer from hearing problems。
