An unusual Christmas
The warm weather allows Australians to enjoy Christmas in an unusual way. Carols by Candlelight is held every year on Christmas Eve, where tens of thousands of people gather in the city of Melbourne to sing the favorite Christmas song. Some Australians often have their Christmas dinner on a local beach.
Canberra, the capital city of is Australia's largest inland city and the eighth largest Australian city overall Australia. The city is located at the northern end of the Australian Capital Territory.

How the name “kangaroo” come into being ?
• In 1770,Captain Cook sailed to Australia from England. When his sailors returned after looking for food on land, they brought with them a big grey animal. ”What is the animal‟s name? ”asked Captain Cook in surprise. “We tried to get the aborigines tell us but they kept saying „kangaroo‟.” the sailor answered. So Captain Cook took “kangaroo” as the animal‟s name. But actually it means “I don‟t know what you are pointing at”.
The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest reef system .The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in northeast Australia. This reef supports a wide diversity of life, and was selected as a World Heritage Site in 1981.CNN labeled it one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre on Bennelong Point in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was conceived and largely built by Danish architect Jørn Utzon(Jørn Oberg Utzon, AC (9 April 1918 – 29 November 2008), who, in 2003, received the Pritzker Prize, architecture's highest honor.
The emu is regarded as the typical bird of Australia. Even though the emu is unable to fly, it can run at speeds up to 48km/h. They have brown fur with a patch of black fur on the top of its head. And they have come to represent progress and unwilling to back down.
