As a seventh-grader, I often dream about my ideal school day, a day that is both fulfilling and enjoyable. In my vision, an ideal school day begins with a vibrant and interactive morning session. The bell rings, signaling the start of the day, and students rush excitedly to their classrooms. Unlike the传统 classrooms I am familiar with, these classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology that enhances learning and makes it more engaging. The teachers greet us with warm smiles and enthusiasm, ready to guide us through an adventure of knowledge. The first lesson of the day is a blend of different subjects, allowing us to connect the dots between history, science, and mathematics. The teacher uses interactive displays to bring the past to life, showing us videos and simulations that make learning exciting and relevant. We engage in lively discussions, sharing our ideas and perspectives, and the teacher encourages us to think critically and beyond the box. After the morning session, we have a break where we can grab a bite to eat and socialize with our friends. The cafeteria offers a variety of healthy and delicious options, and the atmosphere isbuzzling with activity and laughter. The afternoon brings more subjects, but they are taught in a different way. Instead of sitting in a classroom, we visit different learning centers within the school. There's a science lab where we conduct experiments and explore the mysteries of nature. There's an art studio where we create paintings and sculptures, expressing our creativity and imagination. And there's a computer lab where we learn coding and robotics, preparing us for the future of technology.Towards the end of the day, we have a sports session where we can participate in various sports activities. The school has facilities for every sport, and we can choose what we enjoy most. Whether it's playing basketball, swimming, or practicing yoga, we all have the opportunityto stay fit and healthy. Before the day ends, we gather in the auditorium for a closing ceremony. The teachers recognize our efforts andachievements, and we celebrate our successes together. This not only boosts our morale but also encourages us to keep striving for excellence. In my ideal school day, learning is not just about acquiring knowledge; it's about developing skills, fostering creativity, and building character. It's a day where we are not just students but also explorers, innovators, and leaders. It's a day that prepares us notjust for the exams but also for life.**我理想中的学校生活**作为一名七年级的学生,我常常梦想着理想的学校生活,那是一种既充实又愉快的生活。

Title: The Power of Passion: Discovering My True SelfIt was a sunny afternoon when I stumbled upon a small, unassuming bookstore tucked away in the heart of the city. As I stepped inside, the warm scent of freshly brewed coffee and the rustling of pages immediately captivated me. I found myself drawn to the shelves, my fingers tracing the spines of books that seemed to whisper their stories, beckoning me to uncover their secrets. That day, I discovered a book that would change the course of my life forever. It was a collection of memoirs written by individuals who had found their true passions and had the courage to pursue them. As I delved into the pages, I was struck by the rawness and authenticity of their experiences, the challenges they had faced, and the ultimate sense of fulfillment they had achieved. The stories resonated with me on a profound level, for I had always felt a nagging sense of discontent, a yearning for something more than the routine that had consumed my life. Up until that point, I had dutifully followed the path that had been laid out for me – the one that promised stability, security, and the approval of those around me. But deep within, a small flame burned, yearning to be ignited, to blaze a trail of its own.As I read on, I found myself captivated by the bravery of those who had dared to step off the well-trodden path and embrace their dreams. Their stories inspired me to reflect on my own life, to examine the choices I had made and the dreams I had buried deep within. I realized that I had been living a life that was not truly my own, that I had sacrificed my passions in the pursuit of societal expectations. In that moment, a revelation dawned upon me. I understood that true happiness and fulfillment could not be found in thepursuit of material success or the validation of others, but in the unwavering pursuit of my own dreams and passions. It was a realization that shook me to my core, igniting a burning desire to break free from the shackles of conformity and embark on a journey of self-discovery.From that day forward, I made a conscious decision to prioritize my passions and to uncover the true essence of who I was. I began to explore new hobbies and interests, immersing myself in activities that brought me joy and a sense of purpose. Whether it was delving into the world of art, engaging in thought-provoking discussions, or challenging myself physically through outdoor adventures, I found myself coming alive in ways I had never experienced before. As I embraced this newfound freedom, I encountered both challenges and triumphs. There were times when the fear of the unknown and the pressure from those around me threatenedto derail my progress. But I refused to let go of my dream, drawing strength from the stories of those who had come before me, and pushing forward with unwavering determination.Through this journey of self-discovery, I learned that passion is not just a fleeting emotion, but a powerful force that can ignite a profound transformation within us. It is a guiding light that can lead us towards a life of purpose, authenticity, and fulfilment. By following my heart and embracing my true passions, I have not only discovered a deeper sense of myself but have also found the courage to create a life that is truly my own.As I look back on the path I have traversed, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude and a renewed appreciation for the power of passion. It is my hope that by sharing my story, I can inspire others to embark on their own journey of self-discovery, to embrace their dreams, and to live a life thatis authentic and true to who they are.。

Let's all be responsible pet owners and treat our pets with love and care. Thank you for listening!篇4Title: My Favorite HobbyHey guys, do you want to know what my favorite hobby is? It's playing basketball! I love playing basketball because it's so much fun and I get to exercise at the same time.I started playing basketball when I was in kindergarten. At first, I wasn't very good at it, but I practiced a lot and now I'm getting better and better every day. I play basketball with my friends after school and on weekends. We have so much fun dribbling, shooting, and passing the ball to each other. When I play basketball, I feel happy and full of energy. It's a great way to stay active and healthy. Sometimes I even pretend to be a famous basketball player like LeBron James or Stephen Curry. I love watching them play on TV and try to imitate their moves on the court.Playing basketball has also taught me the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. I always cheer for my teammates and encourage them to do their best. Even if we lose a game, we still high-five each other and say "Good game!"In conclusion, playing basketball is not just a hobby for me, it's a passion. I hope I can continue playing basketball for many years to come and maybe even join a school team someday. Basketball is the best!
1Unit 3 is all about food and healthy eating! I think it's a really fun topic because everybody has to eat food to live. My favorite foods are pizza, hamburgers, and ice cream sundaes. I could eat those every day! But my mom says that's not very healthy and I need to eat more vegetables and fruits too. I don't mind vegetables that much, especially if they are covered in cheese or ranch dressing. Yum!In this unit, we learned about the different food groups and what kinds of nutrients different foods have. There are grains like bread and pasta, vegetables, fruits, dairy foods like milk and yogurt, and protein foods like meat, eggs, and beans. We're supposed to eat a balanced diet with a variety from all the different groups. My favorite group is probably grains because it has all the yummy carbs. I love a big plate of spaghetti! We also learned about eating healthy portion sizes and not overdoing it, even with healthy foods. My gym teacher says a portion of meat should be about the size of a deck of cards. But Iusually eat at least three times that much! I need to work on my portion control. Everything is so delicious though, it's hard to stop eating when it tastes so good.Another big part of the unit was learning about foods from different cultures around the world. I thought that was fascinating! We learned about dishes like sushi from Japan, tacos from Mexico, injera from Ethiopia, and so many more. It really opened my eyes to all the amazing variety of cuisines globally. My favorite foreign food we tried was definitely the French crepes. They were like thin pancakes stuffed with yummy fillings like Nutella or fruit. Magnifique! We even got to do some fun food-related activities in class, like a food pyramid game where we had to categorize pictures of different foods. And we made little books with drawings and descriptions of our favorite meals. I drew a giant pizza loaded with pepperoni, sausage, peppers, and extra cheese. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!One assignment that was hard for me was keeping a food diary for a week, writing down everything I ate and drank. It really made me realize how many snacks and sugary drinks I was mindlessly consuming. Things like chips, cookies, candy, soda, and juice boxes really added up to a lot of empty calories with noreal nutrition. From that log, I could see I need to make some changes and limit those junk foods.Overall, I thought learning about food and nutrition was super engaging. It's something we all can relate to and think about every day. I'm glad I know more now about making healthy choices and eating a balanced diet. Although, to be honest, I'll probably still sneak in a few too many treats here and there! A life with no dessert just seems too sad to me. Everything in moderation, right? At least I'll try to balance it out by eating a salad too. Baby steps!篇2Unit 3 - A Whole New WorldEnglish class has been a total trip this semester! Unit 3 in our textbook really opened my eyes to all these fascinating cultures and places around the globe. I can't believe how much crazy stuff I didn't know before.Let me tell you about some of the highlights. We learned all about traditional life in rural China. It was wild to picture families living in these tiny countryside villages, farming with ancient methods passed down for generations. The photos showedpeople harvesting rice by hand and making pottery without any modern tools. So different from my life in the suburbs! But what really blew my mind were the lessons on Aboriginal cultures in Australia. Their belief systems and deep spiritual connection to the land dated back like 60,000 years! The indigenous people were the original inhabitants of the entire continent. We watched videos of sacred ceremonies with tribal elders covered in symbolic body paint and chanting rhythmic melodies. It seemed like stepping into another dimension. One of the assignments was to create a travel brochure promoting a unique cultural destination. I chose the mysterious Easter Island and had a blast researching those iconic giant moai statues. Who built them and why? How did they transport those massive stone heads weighing tons? The island's a freaking enigma that archaeology still hasn't fully solved. For my brochure design, I printed out photos of the statues and pasted them into a cool retro-styled layout. We also studied geography and environmentalism relating to indigenous populations around the world. It was disturbing to learn how many groups have been displaced or had their homelands exploited by corporate greed and urban expansion. The rainforest tribe in Brazil was especially tragic - their entireway of life is going extinct due to illegal deforestation destroying the Amazon. Why can't we leave these people alone to live off the land peacefully like they have for centuries? My favorite part was the unit's creative writing piece. We had to imagine being a young person from another culture and describe a typical day or meaningful ritual from their perspective.I decided to depict an Inuit boy's first successful seal hunt in the Arctic tundra. Smearing the blood in a traditional facial pattern, devouring some of the raw meat and organs as spiritual nourishment, using every part of the animal from the skin to the bones. It was激动人心的(thrilling) to envision that lifestyle so unlike my daily suburban routine.Looking back on Unit 3, I feel like my narrow American bubble was popped big time. There's this vast kaleidoscope of vibrant cultures out there I knew almost nothing about before. Indigenous societies with rich heritage and customs unraveling back through the mists of prehistory. Learning their stories and beliefs expanded my perspective exponentially. Now when I meet people from other backgrounds, I'll be way more respectful and open-minded about where they came from. A Maori kid from New Zealand following the ancestral ways? A Berber nomad whose family has roamed the SaharaDesert for hundreds of years? An Okinawan born into ancient spiritual traditions? I want to hear all about it instead of just assuming everyone's lifestyle revolves around malls and iPhones like mine.I'm definitely more culturally aware after this eye-opening unit. Studying the diversity across the globe revealed how little I actually knew about the richness of human civilization. There are still pockets of society preserving primal wisdom and folkways from the dawn of our species. That's so vital to pay attention to before it vanishes into "progress" forever.Who knew taking English could be such an insightful glimpse into realms I barely knew existed? For the rest of my life, I'll have a deeper appreciation for humanity's varied tapestry thanks to Unit 3. The "modern" world has so much more to learn from ancient worldviews in harmony with this planet we've fallen out of sync with. This totally changed my whole perspective in a pretty awesome way.篇3My Thoughts on Unit 3 of Our English BookHey there! I'm a 7th grader and I wanted to share my thoughts on the latest unit we covered in our English classtextbook. Unit 3 was all about describing people's personalities and appearances. At first, I wasn't too excited about this topic. I figured it would be kind of boring just learning adjectives to describe what people look like and how they act. Boy, was I wrong! Our teacher started off having us look at photos of different celebrities and fictional characters. We had to go around the room and use adjectives to describe their physical traits like hair color, eye color, build, etc. That was actually pretty fun trying to come up with creative ways to depict their looks. I described one pop star as having "fiery red locks" instead of just saying red hair. For a cartoon character, I said he had "a square-shaped head." Using more vivid language made it more interesting. But the best part was when we started exploring personalities and character traits. We read short bios about different famous people and had to pick out words that conveyed their personalities based on the way they acted or what they had accomplished. For an explorer, we used daring, fearless, and adventurous. An inventor was described as brilliant, creative, and visionary. I loved discussing the reasons why certain adjectives fit certain individuals so well.We even did an activity where we had to imagine we were detectives analyzing a suspect's personality based on their living space and possessions. If their house was a total pigsty, words like messy, disorganized, and lazy could describe them. But if their workspace was meticulously organized with everything having its place, then neat, orderly, and disciplined made more sense. Playing detective was awesome! The culminating project for the unit was to pick a famous person, fictional or real, and give a brief bio describing their personality and appearance. I chose the superhero Spider-Man. I described his physical appearance as an "athletic, muscular young man with a lean, toned build who wore a skin-tight red and blue costume." For his personality, I used words like "courageous, heroic, noble, and self-sacrificing." I mean, the guy constantly puts his life at risk to save others!Overall, Unit 3 turned out to be way more engaging than I initially thought. Learning all those descriptive adjectives was pretty useful, and I feel like I have a much wider vocabulary now to depict how someone looks and acts. Instead of always saying stuff like "he's nice" or "she's pretty," I can use precise words that give a much richer, more nuanced picture. Exposition on character has never been so lit! That's my take on this unit from our English book. While at first it seemed like it would be dull, it actually proved to be an enlightening and worthwhile experience. Expanding my descriptive prowess will definitely help me become a better writer and communicator going forward. Let's see what next unit has in store!篇4My Journey Through Unit 3Hey there! It's me, your friendly neighborhood 7th grader. Today I want to tell you all about my adventures with Unit 3 in our English textbook this semester. Get ready for an epic tale full of struggles, triumphs, and maybe even a few laughs along the way! When we first cracked open Unit 3, I was pretty intimidated by all the new vocabulary words staring back at me. Words like "profession," "fulfilling," and "pursue" looked like they belonged in a grown-up's dictionary, not a kid's textbook. But our teacher Ms. Jenkins was prepared for our confusion. She broke them all down in a way that even my 12-year-old brain could understand. The first few lessons focused on talking about different jobs and careers. We learned fun phrases like "I want to be afirefighter when I grow up" and "My mom is a teacher." Seeing all the diverse professions really opened my eyes to how many possibilities are out there waiting for me after I graduate. Who knows, maybe I'll end up being a zookeeper, chef, or even an astronaut! The writing exercises were probably my biggest challenge. We had to compose paragraphs describing our future career aspirations and the steps we'd need to take to get there. As an indecisive kid, I struggled to pick just one dream job to hone in on. How's a 7th grader supposed to decide what they want to do for the rest of their life?! In the end, I wrote about my current goals of becoming a pro video game streamer or basketball star.My favorite part was definitely the project we did at the end of the unit. We each had to dress up as our dream job and give a presentation about it to the class. Walking into school that day, I was greeted by doctors, chefs, police officers, and even apint-sized construction worker! When it was my turn, I rocked a basketball jersey and sunglasses as I educated my peers about the intense work ethic and training required to go pro. Although I was a little nervous at first, pretending to be a basketball superstar put me at ease.Who knows, maybe that project helped prepare me for a future career as a motivational speaker!Looking back, I can't believe how much I learned and grew through Unit 3. Those lessons taught me more than just English skills - they opened my eyes to the world of work and different paths I could potentially pursue after school. Even if marine biology and astronaut training aren't in the cards for me, Unit 3 instilled valuable skills like professionalism, career planning, and public speaking ability.Yeah, there were some seriously tricky vocab words and writing challenges. But thanks to an engaging teacher and those hands-on projects, the whole unit was way more fun than I expected. I'm feeling a篇5Unit 3 - A Whole New WorldWow, Unit 3 in our English book this semester is all about exploring new places and cultures! I have to admit, when I first opened up to that unit, I was a little nervous. Learning about different countries and trying to understand their customs always seems so confusing at first. But Miss Johnson has a way of making it all really interesting and fun to learn! The first few lessons were all about traveling and transportation. We learned awesome words like "suitcase", "passport", and "customs". I remembered customs from that one time we went to visit family in another country and had to go through that long line at the airport. Definitely not my favorite part of traveling! But Miss Johnson explained it's just routine checks to make sure people aren't bringing in anything unsafe or illegal across the borders. Makes sense, I guess, even if it is a little annoying. Then we started learning about all the different ways people can travel - by plane, train, bus, car, you name it. Airplanes are easily my favorite. Soaring up above the clouds is just the coolest feeling ever. Although, I have to say, travelling by train seems pretty fun too from what we learned. Getting to watch the landscapes slowly go by out the window, being rocked gently by the motion. Reminds me of a lullaby almost! Maybe I'll get to experience that sometime. But by far the most exciting part of Unit 3 was when we started discovering various countries and cultures around the world. Miss Johnson had us each pick a different country to research and present to the class. I chose Japan because I've always been so intrigued by their food, art, and ancient traditionslike the samurai warriors. Did you know they have these amazing castles there made entirely out of wood? With curved rooftops and everything! And their food looks out-of-this-world delicious - sushi, ramen, those little rainbow cake balls. I could go on forever. Needless to say, my presentation was a big hit!Listening to my classmates present on their chosen countries was awesome too. Farah did hers on Egypt and told us all about the pyramids, pharaohs, and how they mummified their dead rulers way back when. I'm not going to lie, that part gave me goosebumps! But it was still super fascinating to learn about. Then there was Stephen who talked all about Brazil - the lively music, vibrant festivals, and crazy talented soccer players. He even taught us a few Portuguese words! I could hardly keep up with how quickly he was rattling them off.Overall, while Unit 3 seemed a little daunting at first, it actually turned out to be one of my favorite units so far. Getting to be a world traveler for a few weeks and soak in all those different cultures was an experience I'll never forget. Miss Johnson has us so prepared too - I know all the customs for polite greetings, common phrases for things like directions and ordering food, and cultural do's and don'ts for different societies.I feel like a total expert now! Who knows, maybe one day I'll get to visit some of those incredible places we learned about for real. A girl can dream, right? For now, I'm just excited to see what other adventures await us in the next unit. Bring it on!篇6A Tasty Adventure - Learning About Food in English ClassHi there! My name is Emma and I'm a seventh grader. I wanted to tell you all about the super fun unit we just finished in English class. It was called "Delicious Discoveries" and it was all about food from different cultures around the world. At first, I wasn't sure if I'd like learning about foods I've never tried before. But it turned out to be really fascinating! We started by learning some new vocabulary words related to food, like "appetizer", "entrée", and "dessert". My teacher showed us pictures and we had to guess if each one was a starter, main course, or sweet treat at the end of the meal. I didn't know what some of the dishes were at first, but I recognized things like soup, salad, pasta, and cake.Next, we read an article about traditional foods from Mexico.I had tried tacos and burritos before, but I learned about othertasty Mexican dishes like enchiladas, tamales, and mole sauce. The mole sauce sounded interesting because it's made with chocolate! Who knew chocolate could be used in a savory dish? I definitely want to try making that at home. Then we watched a video about dim sum, which are small dishes from Chinese cuisine. I loved seeing all the different cute little dumplings and buns being prepared. The shrimp dumplings looked so good! We also learned about using chopsticks properly. It's definitely harder than it looks. I dropped a few dumplings on my desk while practicing, but I'm getting better. For one class, a parent volunteer came in to teach us how to make an Indian curry. The classroom smelled amazing from all the spices! She showed us how to cook the chicken and vegetables, and then we each got to sample the curry over rice. It had a little bit of a kick from the chili peppers, but it was so flavorful. Indian food is my new favorite! As part of the unit, we had to research a dish from another country and write a report about its history and ingredients. I chose to learn about sushi from Japan. I was surprised to find out that sushi doesn't actually mean "raw fish" - it refers to the vinegared rice! You can have sushi with cooked ingredients like shrimp or veggies too. I would love to go to a sushi restaurantand try making the rolls. Just need to work on my chopstick skills! For our final project, we broke into groups and had to plan a multicultural meal with dishes from at least 3 different countries. My group chose Spanish paella, Vietnamese spring rolls, and a Swedish princess cake for dessert. We had to write out the recipes, calculate costs, and describe how we would decorate the table. I was in charge of the princess cake and I'm really proud of how it turned out on paper. Bright green marzipan covering with a ring of whipped cream on top - yum!Overall, this unit on international foods was amazing. I discovered so many delicious dishes that I can't wait to actually taste. My parents said we can go out for dim sum or Ethiopian food this weekend to continue my culinary adventures. Trying new flavors is exciting...as long as I don't have to eat any stinky cheese or candied bugs. Hey, a girl has her limits! But I'll leave that picky eating for another day. This unit definitely gets an A+ from me!。
1My Favorite Unit This YearUnit 3 in our English textbook this year was definitely my favorite so far! It was all about sports and outdoor activities. As a kid who loves being active and playing games, I was really excited to learn more vocabulary and phrases related to that topic. The first part of the unit introduced tons of new sports vocabulary. We learned words for different ball games like basketball, football, baseball, tennis, volleyball and more. There were also sections on athletics like running, swimming, gymnastics and cycling. I already knew a lot of those words, but it was helpful to really drill down and make sure I understood them properly. What I found most interesting though were the sections on more unique sports that I didn't know as much about. We learned vocabulary for activities like rock climbing, kayaking, surfing, skiing, skating and archery. Those are sports I don't getto do very often living in the city, but they seem so exciting! Reading about them and hearing the English words made me want to try them all.My favorite part was probably the skateboarding section.I've been trying to learn some tricks recently, so I was really engaged reading about kickflips, ollies, grinds and other skate moves. I could practice saying the terms while actually attempting the tricks myself. It made the whole unit feel very practical and hands-on.In addition to straight vocabulary, the unit also taught us lots of common phrases and idioms related to sports. Things like "take a swing at it", "play hardball", "get back in the game" and "throw in the towel." I've realized how many common English expressions are actually sports metaphors. Learning where they come from and how to properly use them has been really valuable. The readings and dialogues also exposed us to more advanced sports expressions like "rally from behind", "level the playing field", "knock it out of the park" and "dropped the ball." I still stumble over some of those more complex idioms, but I'm slowly getting better at incorporating them into my own speechand writing. It's cool to pick up on those unusually sporty ways of communicating in English. We also learned about different Olympic sports, the history of the games, and international athletes who have made an impact. My favorite was the story about the Jamaican bobsledding team that inspired the movie Cool Runnings. Who would expect a tropical country to compete in a winter sport like that? But they worked hard, never gave up, and ended up making history. It was an inspiring reminder to always chase your dreams, no matter how unlikely they may seem.Apart from pure language learning, the sports focus of Unit 3 has motivated me to get more active myself. The readings about the benefits of exercise, eating healthy, and cultivating a positive mindset really spoke to me. I've started riding my bike to school more, trying to walk or run instead of taking the bus when I can. I even joined my school's running club to help train for the upcoming track season. My parents have definitely noticed a positive change in my energy levels and overall attitude. In class, we also played a bunch of fun sports-themed games and activities to reinforce what we learned. Things like indoor bowling, frisbee golf, juggling challenges and relay races. It was a nice way to get out of our seats and bring the unit's lessons tolife in an interactive way. My personal favorite was the hula hoop competitions - I dominated those! The prize was just a candy bar, but the glory was worth it.We even had an international sports day where students signed up to represent different countries. We made flags, learned traditional sports from those cultures, and sampled regional cuisine. I represented Australia and bonded with a few classmates over our shared love of cricket and passion for vegemite (or hatred of it in their case!). It was a cool way to blend language learning with geography, history and cultural studies. Now that we're finishing up Unit 3, I'm definitely sad to be moving on from the sports theme. It's a topic that just clicked with me and kept me engaged every step of the way. The vocabulary and phrases will stick with me thanks to all the fun, interactive practice. And I've gained a new appreciation for athletics, teamwork and physical fitness.Who knows, maybe I'll evenp ursue one of those more obscure sports I learned about fun. Become a professional rock climber or Olympic archer. Probably not, but it's cool to dream for now! Unit 4 is on environmental science and nature, which could be interesting too. But deep down, I'll likely always look back on crazy sports unit as my favorite part of 7th grade English. It was the perfect blend of useful language learning and sheer enjoyment. Thanks, Mrs. Robertson!篇2My Life During the PandemicHi there! My name is Emily and I'm a 7th grader here at Oakwood Middle School. My English teacher asked us to write about our experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic a few years ago, so I thought I'd share my story with you.It all started in early 2020 when we first started hearing about this new virus that was spreading around the world. At first, I didn't think too much of it - diseases happen sometimes and the adults usually take care of it. Little did I know how much this virus would completely upend life as we knew it!In March 2020, everything changed in the blink of an eye. One day I was going to school like normal, hanging out with my friends at lunch and looking forward to the spring break trip my family had planned. The next thing I knew, my mom was pulling me out of class and telling me school was shutting down indefinitely because of the coronavirus. I was so confused - how could a tiny virus cause so much disruption? Those first few weeks of the pandemic were really strange and unsettling. My family and I were stuck inside our house all day, every day. No more going to school, no more playdates with friends, no more fun family outings. We weren't even allowed to have people over at our house! I felt like a caged animal pacing back and forth with nothing to do. Thank goodness for video games and movies to keep me entertained. After a little while, my school did start up virtual learning which was...interesting to say the least. Having classes over video call was so weird and awkward. Technical issues were constant - someone's microphone wasn't working, another person had no video, the teacher's screen kept freezing. No matter how hard they tried, it was nearly impossible for teachers to truly engage us students over a computer screen. I definitely didn't learn as much that semester as I normally would have in-person.The hardest part for me was definitely not being able to see my friends in-person for months on end. Sure, we could Facetime and text, but it's just not the same as actually hanging out together. I really missed things like sleepovers, going to the movies, grabbing ice cream after school. Even just little things like giving my bestie a high-five or a big hug. Human interactionis so important, especially for kids, and not having that social connection for so long was really tough. At least I had my family to keep me company during those long months of quarantine! We did lots of fun activities together like baking, playing board games, and having movie nights. My little brother drove me absolutely crazy being stuck inside with him 24/7 though. We fought like cats and dogs some days over the littlest things. Looking back, I really give my parents so much credit for keeping us all sane during such a stressful, cooped up situation.Eventually, things did start slowly opening back up and some sense of normalcy returned. I'll never forget the first day I was able to go back to school in-person in the fall of 2020. Seeing all my friends' faces again, getting to sit in a real classroom, I felt like I could finally breathe again after months of being suffocated at home. Of course, things were very different with everyone having to wear masks, lots of new safety rules in place, and extracurriculars still not allowed. But just being out of the house and somewhat back to a normal routine did wonders for my mental health. As time went on, the pandemic gradually improved and safety restrictions were able to be lifted one-by-one. I'll behonest, there were times during 2020 and 2021 when I didn't think life would ever go back to the way it was before COVID. But we persisted, us humans are resilient like that. Finally being able to go on vacations again, eat inside restaurants, and see extended family for holidays in 2022 was the light at the end of a very long, dark tunnel. While I'm certainly happy to have made it through that challenging era, it did have a big impact on me that will never篇3My Favorite AnimalHi there! My name is Emma and I'm going to tell you all about my favorite animal for our Unit 3 writing assignment. I really love animals, so it was hard to pick just one favorite. But after thinking about it for a while, I decided my favorite has to be the dolphin!Dolphins are really cool marine mammals that live in the ocean. They are actually smarter than a lot of other animals. Some scientists even think dolphins could be the second smartest animals on Earth after humans! Just like us, dolphins are really social and live together in groups called pods. Theycommunicate with each other using a variety of clicks, whistles, and other sounds. Isn't that amazing? There are all different types of dolphins, but I especially love the bottlenose dolphin. Bottlenose dolphins are gray and have a curved mouth that looks like they are smiling all the time. Their bodies are sleek and streamlined which allows them to swim really fast through the water. They can grow up to 14 feet long and weigh as much as 1,400 pounds! But don't worry, dolphins are very friendly creatures and don't bite humans. In fact, they are known to be curious about people.Dolphins are also incredibly intelligent. Their big brains have specialized areas just for communication, emotions, and complex behaviors. Studies show that dolphins can recognize themselves in a mirror, use tools to get food, and even give themselves names by making a unique whistling sound! Some dolphins have been taught to understand simple human hand signals and commands. A few dolphins at marine parks have even learned to paint pictures by holding a brush in their mouths! Isn't that crazy? One of the main reasons I love dolphins so much is because they seem to have a really playful side, almost like they are the puppies of the sea. Dolphins are always jumping, flipping, andsplashing around in the waves. You can often see them playfully chasing each other or riding along on the waves made by boats. Some dolphins have even been seen swimming along and playfully interacting with other animal species like whales!I also think it's amazing how dolphins use a talent called echolocation to locate prey and navigate through the ocean. Echolocation is like a built-in sonar system that uses sound waves to detect objects. Dolphins will make a series of clicking noises that bounce off of things in the water and then listen to the echoes that come back. From the echoes, they can determine what the object is, how far away it is, and even if it is moving! Pretty mind-blowing, right?Unfortunately, many dolphin species are endangered due to things like pollution, habitat loss, and getting trapped in fishing nets. I feel really bad for dolphins because they seem so intelligent and friendly. That's why I try to do my part to help protect dolphins by reducing plastic waste, recycling, and supporting organizations that rescue and rehabilitate injured or orphaned dolphins.Whenever I go to the beach or an aquarium and get to see dolphins up close, I'm always in awe of how majestic and playful they are. The way they effortlessly glide through the water andleap into the air is just mesmerizing to watch. If I could have any superpower, I think it would be amazing to be able to breathe underwater so I could swim and interact with the dolphins! How cool would that be?Well, I could probably go on talking about dolphins forever, but I'll stop here for now. Hopefully after reading this essay you can understand why the dolphin is my absolute favorite animal. With their intelligence, playfulness, and amazing abilities like echolocation, what's not to love? Dolphins are just the coolest! Let me know if you agree or if you have a different favorite animal. I'm always happy to talk about them. Thanks for reading!篇4My Favorite Weekend ActivitiesHi there! My name is Emma and I'm in 7th grade. Today I want to tell you all about my favorite weekend activities. The weekend is the best time because I don't have any school or homework to worry about. I can just relax and have fun!One of my absolute favorite things to do on the weekend is have a sleepover with my best friends. Sleepovers are so exciting! We stay up late watching movies, painting our nails, doing each other's hair and makeup, and just giggling about everything.Sometimes we have pillow fights or play truth or dare. We also love putting on fancy dresses and doing a fashion show for each other. It's so silly but so much fun!Another thing I really enjoy on the weekends is going shopping with my mom. There's a huge mall not too far from our house with tons of really cool stores. My favorite is probably the athletic store because I love looking at all the sporty clothes and sneakers. I'm on the school track team so I'm always needing new running shoes and shorts. Even if we don't buy anything, it's still fun just to walk around the mall, people watch, and grab a pretzel or some ice cream. When the weather is nice on the weekend, I really like going to the park near my house. They have a great playground with swings, monkey bars, and a big twisty slide. I'm probably getting a little too old for playgrounds, but I still have a lot of fun there. Sometimes I'll bring my scooter or roller blades too and go riding around the walking paths. The park also has basketball courts and soccer fields where my friends and I will sometimes play pick-up games. My family and I also enjoy going for hikes on the weekend if the weather cooperates. There are some really beautiful nature trails not too far from our house with gorgeous scenery of trees, streams, and even a small waterfall. We always make sure to pack a picnic lunch to eat halfway through the hike. My little brother especially loves the hikes because he gets to run around and look for cool bugs or animals. One time we even saw a deer!Another super fun weekend activity is having a game night with my family. We'll order pizza or Chinese food, then spend the whole night playing board games and card games. Some of our favorites are Monopoly, Life, Clue, Uno, and Candy Land if my little sister wants to play too. My dad is ultra competitive so he gets really into it. Sometimes we'll make bets with chores or something if you win or lose a game. It's always a blast! In the summertime, we have family beach days on the weekend. We'll pack up the car with all our beach gear - towels, sunscreen, sand toys, boogie boards, you name it. Then we head to the coast for the whole day. I love swimming in the ocean, riding the waves, and burying my brother in the sand. We also bring tons of snacks and drinks to munch on throughout the day. The evenings at the beach are my favorite part though. We'll have a bonfire, make s'mores, and watch the beautiful sunset over the water. So magical!Sometimes on the weekend I'll have a birthday party or other event to go to. Birthday parties are the best because theyalways have fun activities, yummy treats, and you get to hang out with your friends. I've been to bowling birthday parties, roller skating parties, even a circus themed party once with acrobats and everything! No matter what we do though, I always have a great time celebrating with my friends.Another thing I really like doing on the weekend is arts and crafts. My mom and I will go to the craft store and pick out new supplies, then spend an afternoon making all sorts of creative projects. We've made homemade jewelry, painted canvases, created scrapbooks...you name it! Getting artistic and making things with my own two hands is so satisfying. Plus my mom and I have a lot of fun quality time together.Weekends are also the best time to pick up a new hobby or try something new. Last year, my dad taught me how to play chess, which was really cool to learn. Sometimes I'll ask my parents to enroll me in a weekend class or activity too. One time I took a kid's cooking class and learned how to bake all sorts of yummy desserts. I also did a dance class one session and a robotics class another. It's fun to pick up new skills!Whew, I could probably go on and on about all the fun things I like to do on the weekends! As you can see, I really try to make the most of my free time. Weekends are meant foradventures, spending time with loved ones, and just having a blast before another school week starts. I feel so lucky and grateful to have so many amazing weekend experiences under my belt already...and I'm just a kid! I can't wait to keep exploring new hobbies and activities. The weekend truly is the best part of every week!篇5Title: My Awesome Summer VacationHey there! My name is Alex, and I'm about to tell you all about my super cool summer vacation. It was seriously the best summer ever, and I can't wait to share the awesome adventures I had with you!The first stop on my summer trip was my grandparents' farm.I love going there because it's so different from living in the city. My grandparents have this huge backyard with all kinds of animals like cows, chickens, and even a few goats! Can you imagine having goats as pets? They're so funny and always jumping around. One of my favorite things to do on the farm is help my grandpa with the chores. He taught me how to milk the cows, which was a bit tricky at first, but I got the hang of it after a fewtries. I also helped collect the eggs from the chicken coop. Those chickens can be pretty feisty, let me tell you! One of them even pecked at my shoe, but I didn't mind. It was all part of the farm experience. After spending a few days on the farm, my family and I hit the road for our next destination: the beach! We stayed at this really cool beach house right by the ocean. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was so relaxing, and the salty sea air was just amazing. In the evenings, we would have barbecues on the beach and roast marshmallows over the fire. My little sister got a sticky, melted marshmallow all over her face, and we all had a good laugh about it. Those are the kinds of memories that make summer vacations so special. After a week at the beach, it was time for the next stop on our trip: the city! We went to visit my aunt and uncle who live in a big, bustling city. It was so different from the farm and the beach, but just as exciting. My aunt and uncle took us to all sorts of cool places, like museums, art galleries, and fancy restaurants. I even got to visit a real-life science museum with interactive exhibits and everything! One of the coolest things we did was go to the top of a really tallskyscraper and look out over the whole city. It was a little scary being so high up, but the view was incredible. We also went to see a baseball game while we were in the city. I've never been to a professional baseball game before, and it was amazing! The stadium was huge, and the players were so talented. I even caught a foul ball that came flying into the stands! It's definitely one of my most prized possessions now. After a few days in the city, it was time to head back home. As much fun as it was to travel and see new places, there's nothing quite like the comfort of your own home. Now that summer vacation is over and I'm back in school, I can't help but look back on all the amazing memories I made. From the farm to the beach to the city, it was an adventure I'll never forget. I can't wait to see what next summer has in store!Well, that's my summer vacation story. I hope you enjoyed hearing about all the fun things I did. Even though school is back in session, I'm already counting down the days until next summer. Who knows what kind of awesome adventures await?篇6My Favorite Unit in 7th Grade EnglishHi there! I'm a 7th grader and I wanted to tell you all about my favorite unit we covered in English class this year. It was Unit 3 in our textbooks and boy, was it ever exciting! The unit was called "Exploring the Great Outdoors" and it was all about nature, adventure, and discovering the amazing world around us. As a kid who loves running around outside and getting dirty, I was super pumped to dive into these lessons. We started off by reading this really cool book called "Into the Wild" by Jon Krakauer. Has anyone else read that one? It's about this guy named Chris McCandless who gave up everything he owned to go live off the land in Alaska. Pretty crazy stuff! I have to admit, some of the vocabulary was pretty advanced for me, but my teacher did a great job of explaining the tough words and concepts. After we finished the book, we spent a few classes discussing the meanings and lessons we could take away from McCandless's incredible journey. I raised my hand a bunch because I had so many thoughts! While I don't know if I'd ever go quite as extreme as he did, I definitely admire his bravery and desire to really experience raw nature. We live in such a modern, technology-obsessed world - it was awesome learning about someone who completely rejected that. The next part of the unit focused on exploring local nature spots around our town. We took a couple awesome field trips to hiking trails and parks nearby. My favorite was definitely the ranch we visited where we got to go horseback riding. I'll never forget the feeling of galloping through that open field with the wind whipping through my hair. The ranch owner taught us all about living off the land and self-sufficiency which I thought was super cool.We also invited some guest speakers into our classroom, like a professional mountain climber and a park ranger. They showed us photos and videos of insane peaks they've scaled and wild animals they've encountered. Listening to their extreme tales of survival made me even more excited to get out there and explore. My mind was racing with visions of me becoming a famous outdoorsman one day!We finished up the unit by organizing a camping trip where we all got to put our new outdoorsy skills to the test. We set up our own tents, built and safety-maintained campfires, told ghost stories, and slept under a canopy of bright stars. Experiencing it all first-hand after reading so much about it was awesome. I remember staring up at that inky black sky, surrounded by treesgently swaying in the breeze, and feeling so free and connected to the earth.I've always loved nature and being outside, but this unit really took that passion to a new level for me. I used to think the outdoors were just places to run around and have fun, but now I see them as something to appreciate, respect, and protect too. Learning about people like McCandless showed me that Mother Nature shouldn't be taken for granted - she's a force to be reckoned with and can make you stronger if you open yourself up to her power.I'm definitely going to keep exploring and immersing myself in the great outdoors as much as I can. This unit lit a fire in me to seek out more adventures, and to find my own personal connections with nature. Who knows, maybe I'll even write a novel about one of my crazy wilderness experiences one day! For now though, I'm happy just daydreaming in class about my next camping trip. Thanks for being such an awesome audience - get outside and discover something new today!。
