But at the foot of big mountains in Mexico, the n ative Huichol (墨西哥一少数民族)people live in much the same way their an cestors did — without electricity . That's because it's too expensive to string power lines to such mountainous areas.
To help support themselves, the Huichol create beautiful artwork, in cludi ng paintings made from yarn (纱线).They sell their art in cities hundreds of miles away . But without electricity —at home or on the road, they can only work duri ng daylight hours.
“ Wdiave to stop whatever we're doing when it gets dark, "says Miquel Carillo, leader of the Huichol people. He explains the sales of their artwork are essential to their life, where farming is difficult and crops often fail. “ So we just wait for the sun to come up again. ”
Now, a team of scie ntists is using new tech no logies to help the Huichol out . With special textiles(纺织原料) known as “ Portable Lights" , people just have to weave tiny electronic crystals(晶体)into fabrics(织物)that can be made into clothes, bags, or others . There are many theories about the beginning of drama (戏剧)in ancient Greece . The one most widely accepted today is based on the assumption that drama evolved (演化)from ritual . The argument for this view goes as follows.
In the begi nning, huma n beings viewed the n atural forces of the world------ eve n the seas onal change ----- a s unpredictable, and they sought through various means, to control these unknown and feared powers . Those measures which appeared to bring the desired results were then retained and repeated until they hardened into fixed rituals . Eventually stories arose which explained or veiled the mysteries of the rites . As time passed some rituals were abandoned, but the stories, later called myths, persisted and provided material for art and drama .
Those who believed that drama evolved out of ritual also argue that those rites contained the seed of theater because music, dance, masks, and costume(戏服)were almost always used . Furthermore, a suitable site had to be provided for performances, and when the entire community did not participate, a clear division was usually made between the "acting area" and the "auditorium" (观众席).In addition, there were performers, and, since considerable importance was attached to avoiding mistakes in the enactment of rites, religious leaders usually assumed that task . Weari ng masks and costumes, they ofte n impers on ated other people, ani mals, or super natural bein gs, and mimed the desired effect-success in hunt or battle, the coming rain, the revival of the Sun-as an actor might . Eventually such dramatic representations were separated from religious activities .
Another theory traces (追溯)the theater ' s origin from the human interest in storytellingccording to this view, tales (about the hunt, war, or other feats) are gradually elaborated, at first through the use of impersonation, action, and dialogue by a n arrator and the n through the assumpti on of each of the roles by a differe nt pers on . A closely related theory traces theater to those dances that are primarily rhythmical and gymnastic or that are imitations of animal movements and sounds .
53 . What does the passage mainly discuss?
A . the origins of Greek drama
B . the ceremonies in an cie nt Greece
C . the importa nce of storytelli ng
D . the variety of early religious activities

C . theories
D . huma n beings
55 . What do drama and an cie nt ceremonies have in com mon accord ing to the passage?
A . Music, dance, masks, costumes and so on were contained in both of them.

C . Both of them were concerned about n atural power.
D . Religious leaders were in charge of both of them.
56 . The passage supports which of the follow ing stateme nts?

B . Religious activities played a very importa nt role in the developme nt of drama
C . Religious leaders tried to develop the effective form of drama

With the competition between nations becoming fiercer, many countries are promoting the concept of life long lear ning in an
effort to sta nd out among the competitors and keep up their adva ntages . Life long lear ning systems are considered national policies in some countries . It has become a pressing task for China to establish a lifelo ng lear ning system.
The country is now in a period of rapid economic restructuring (转型).Its 700 million laborers have to improve their skills and continue their education. Rapid changes in the economic structure have led to unemployment, making training a key concern for jobless people looking to get reemployed.

There is a disc onn ecti on betwee n educati on and the market dema nd for tale nt. College graduates face difficulties finding jobs . They cannot fit into the changing environment and are unable to learn by themselves . The curre nt methods, materials and means of formal educati on fall short of what is n eeded to build a life long educati on system . Courses and teachi ng resources should be adjusted accord ing to the n eeds of social and econo mic developme nt.
The concept of lifelong learning system must be promoted and the whole society must care about and participate in it . Plans and related rules ought to be made to guarantee the health and orderly development of the lifelo ng lear ning program.

A
Dear xx ,
In my own experienee, I ' ve learned that everybody gives importanee tdiaquains, but, in the end, the most
importa nt thing is your own ability---your skill in com mun icati ng with your partn ers, your in tellige nee and ability to solve problems, and your knowledge about different topics . So the best advice I can give is that you must trust in your value, and you will eventually find an interesting job.
Ralph
B
Dear xx ,
I think you are having what is commonly known as a “ friendship crisis ”. Although she is your best friend, you n eed to remember to protect and develop your relati on ship . Your problem was caused by your impulsive ness(冲动) and her stubbornness. You shouldn ' t have accused her of only wanting to make use of you for her studies.
Ralph
C
Dear xx ,
First, you must know that it ' important to establish personal relations with the people around you. Communication is the most important force in life . On the other hand, you shouldn ' t woctyaboout
what people think about you or your acts . I think it ' s a good idea to give some presents to your tea(Stee has helped you and has been kind to you . Most likely, others will understand your act.
Ralph
D
Dear xx ,
You say you used to be con fide nt. I sense that you have many strong points of your own . You should not allow yourself to only make comparis ons that force you to see yourself in a n egative way . Think of the things you do better tha n others, and this will bring your con fide nce back . However, it is also n ecessary in life to accept that
others may be better at things tha n ourselves but one pers on should not be your only reference.
Ralph
E
Dear xx ,
It ' s understandable that you are fascinated by modern city lifeYou don ' t need to feel guiltyWhat matters most now is that you leave it behind for a while . Go back to your studies straight away . Enjoying “ party life ” won ' t give you much . And you ' ll have plenty of time to party after you graduate You only go to college once, so take adva ntage of it.
Ralph。
