Unit 6 I’m watching TV.
Period 1 Section A 1a-2d
教学目标
1.掌握现在进行时态及一些表示具体动作的词组搭配,如:
doing homework,watching TV,eating dinner等。

2.用现在进行时的各种形式进行准确的描述和表达正在发生的动作。

教学过程
Step 1:Lead-in
Look at a picture of a boy playing basketball and answer “What’s Jim doing?”De scribe the picture “He is playing basketball.” Talk about other pictures “What’s...doing?”Write the complete questio ns and answers.
Step 2:Presentation
1.Look at the p ictures of 1a.“Some of our friends are living in a building.What are they doing?”Answer some questions according to the pictures one by one “What is he/she doing?What are they doing in Picture h?” When the students answer the questions,the teacher writes the new words on the blackboard,for example:making soup,washing the dishes,using the computer,reading a newspaper.
2.Finish the task of 1a.You can speak out the complete sentences to check the answers.
Step 3:Listening 1b
Before listening
1.Find the verb,and write the present participle,for
example:watch-watching,clean-cleaning,
2.Read the requirement of 1b,and guess the people of 1a:Who’s Bob? Who’s Jenny? Who’s John? Wh o are Dave and Mary?
While listening
1.Listen to the tape and finish this task.Check the answers.
2.Listen again and read after it.
Step 4:Pair work:1c
任务1:Practice the conversation in 1b in pairs.
任务2:Role-play the conversation.

现在进行时表示正在进行的动作或存在的状态。

一般由加上构成。

句子中常有now,Look!Listen!It’s two o’clock,Where’s...?等表示正在进行的时间状语或句子。

read,watch,look(at),see的用法。

读书、看报动词都用;看电视、比赛等用;看着……用;看电影等用。

Step 5:I Say,You See
After 1c,try this challenging activity to test your memories and
question/answer skills.Follow this procedure:
1.Memorize the things that people are doing in the picture in 1a.After three minutes,close you r books.
2.In pairs,one student opens the book and looks at the picture in 1a.The other student must keep the book closed.
3.The student with the open book asks questions.The other student must try to remember what it is in the picture and give a yes/no answer.
4.Have a look at the teacher’s writing about some sample questions and answers on the blackboard:
5.You should reverse roles.
Step 6:Listening 2a
Before li stening
Look at some pictures of people’s activ ities,and remember them in a short time,then take turns to ask and answer,for example:
While listening
Read the two questions of 2a,listen to the tape once,and finish the task by yourselves.Ask and answer in pairs,then check answers.
Step 7:Listening 2b
Before listening
Read the conversation of 2b,and predict the information to be filled in the blanks.
While listening
1.The teacher plays the tape for the second time,and you fill in the blanks while listening.
2.Listen for the third time,and check the answers in class.
Step 8:Work on 2c
1.Point at the picture and practice with the classmates.
2.You can practice talk ing about the conversation in 2b in pairs.
Step 9:Work on 2d
1.Role-play the conversation of 2d.
2.Read the conversation of 2d and answer the questions:
(1)What’s Laura doing? She’s washing her clothes.
(2)What’s Jenny doing? She’s watching TV.
(3)What do they want to do? They want to eat out.
(4)What time do they meet? They meet at half past six.
