Around the world, support is growing for electric cars. China has encouraged people to buy electric cars to reduce pollution. Some European countries aim to be allelectric by 2040 or sooner. However, charging these cars has been a problem.
Public charging stations are not built evenly around the world. Places with lots of support from governments, like China and the Netherlands, have thousands of public charging stations. But in many places, there are not many public chargers. That's a problem for people who need to drive further than 200 miles.
This situation worries many potential(潜在的) electric car owners. “If I can't charge, there's no way for me to choose an electric car,” says Solie, who works far from his home.
Mr. Romano, CEO of Charge Point, says, “Workplaces should have around 2.5 chargers for every electric car. Highways need one every 50 to 75 miles.”
Luckily, car makers and governments are trying to close the gap. The number of chargers grew by 72 percent to more than 3,322,000 last year, the International Energy Agency says. BMW, Daimler, Volkswagen and Ford are building 400 fastcharging stations in Europe.

What will our life be like in 50 years? No one knows the answer exactly but we are sure that it will be very different from the life today. My sister Jill White makes some predictions. Here are some of her ideas.
First, people will have less work to do and robots will do most work. People will use robots to make cars, do the housework, look after sick people and teach students. People will spend most of their time playing sports and traveling. So people will become stronger and healthier and they will live to be about 200 years old.
Second, cars will become very small and computers will control their speed. So there will be fewer accidents on the road. Planes will be very popular, and most people would like to take them to travel.
Third, people will be able to live under the sea, on the moon or on Mars. The earth won't be crowded or noisy. So there will be much space for people to plant trees. There will be less pollution, and the air will become much fresher.
Finally, water shortages will become one of the most serious problems. If people don't save water now, there will be water wars in 50 years.
()49.Jill White thinks that in 50 years robots will help to do the following things EXCEPT(除了) ________.
A.looking after sick people
B.driving cars
C.teaching students
()50.Jill White thinks most people will travel________ in 50 years.
A.by bike B.by plane C.by train
()51.According to Jill White, ________ in 50 years.

B.people won't need to work
C.computers will control cars' speed
()52.The underlined word “shortages” means “________” in Chinese.

每空一词。
With the development of the economy, the problem of the leftbehind children has become a serious social problem.More and more people have realized that we should do something to help them.
The biggest problem is that the children are short of love from their parents. Many of them can just get a call or a letter from their parents half a year, a year or even several years. So some children can't remember what their parents look like. When they meet their own trouble, they have no one to talk with. Nobody gives them enough care.
Because of being too far away from their parents, the leftbehind children's study is the second biggest problem. From a survey about their study, only two percent of the children get good results, while ten percent of them are common and eightyeight percent of them are poor. What a pity!
There are also many other problems of the leftbehind children, such as having no ability to
protect themselves, unhealthy lifestyles and spending too much pocket money and too much time on the Internet.
In a word, to solve all the problems of the leftbehind children needs the government, families and schools to try their best together.

Nowadays, we can find robots easily around us. Some do very complicated(复杂的) jobs, like flying airplanes and driving subway trains. Others do simple and tiring jobs. When an automatic washing machine is turned on, water pours in. The machine waits until the water is warm enough for washing clothes. It does this by “feedback”. Information about what is happening is fed back into the robot to tell what to do next. Our eyes, ears and other senses are our feedback(反馈). They_tell_us_what_is_going_on_around_us,_so_robots_are_like_human_ beings_in_two_ways. They can work and they have feedback.
In some ways robots are better than human beings. They work quickly and do not make mistakes. They do not get bored even doing the same job again and again. And they never get tired, so robots are very useful in factories. They can be taught to do many different jobs, but some people show their worries that robots will take the place of human beings. 500 men and 500 women were interviewed about their worries.
