Step 1 Leading-in
Show some pictures in which the environment is seriously polluted, lead to the topic about environmental pollution by talking about the picture. Step I1Present the new lesson
1.Teach the new words and the six kinds of pollution by showing pictures to the students.
2.Let the students read them and remember the new words according to the pictures.
3.Have a brainstorm to have a check about the new words.
4.Let the students remember the six kinds of pollutions and then match them with the pictures.
5.Students work in pairs, fill in the blanks using the six kinds of pollution.
6.Tell the students pollution is not only harmful to human beings, but also to the animals, lead to 2. Students listen and number the pictures,finish2.
7.Show a picture of West Hill, talk about it , lead to 1a.
8. Watch the flash and answer the questions: Where do they want to go for their picnic at first ? Do they want to have their picnic there at last? Why or why not?
9. Listen again, this time listen and repeat.
10. Emphasis the important sentences and practice.

11. Read 1a in roles, then act out.
12.Self-study : Let the students study 1b according to the study guide. Students discuss in groups, conclude the usage of direct speech and indirect speech, then the teacher emphasis the usage of direct speech and indirect speech, remind the students to pay attention to the changes of the verbs. At last do some exercises,then check the answers of 1b. Step III Project (综合探究活动)
“Is there any pollution around you? What’s its harm?” let the students make a survey in groups, and then give a report in class , using indirect speech.
Step IV Homework
Make a survey about the pollution around you and how to deal with it, write a report.
