(2019中考选练)
If you want to become a fluent(流利的)English speaer you should tae some advice There are four sills in learning English. They are reading, listening, speaing, and writing. The most important thing you must remember is that if you want to improve your speaing and writing sills you should first master the sills of reading and listening.
Read as much as you can. But your reading must be active. It means that you must thin about the meaning of the sentence, the meanings of the unfamiliar words, etc. There is no need for you to pay much attention to grammars or try to understand all the unfamiliar words you come across, but the fact that you see them for the first time and recognie them whenever you see them, for eample in other passages or boos, is enough. It would be better to prepare yourself a noteboo so you can write down the important words or sentences in it_
As for listening, there are two choices besides reading, you can listen every day for about 30 minutes. You can only pay attention to your reading and become sillful at your reading, then you can catch up on your listening. Since you have lots of inputs in your mind, you can easily guess what the speaer is going to say. This never means that you should not practice listening.
For listening you can listen to cartoons or some movies that are specially made for children. Their languages are easy. Or if you are good at listening you can listen to VOA or BBC programs every day. Again the thing to remember is being active in listening and preferably taing some notes.
If you follow these pieces of advice, your speaing and writing will improve automatically, and you can be sure that with a little effort they will become perfect.

中考英语阅读理解****浪费可耻
Waste can be seen everywhere in the school. Some students as for more food than they can eat and others often forget to turn off the lights when they leave the classroom. They say they can afford these things. But I don’t agree with them.
Waste can bring a lot of problems. Although China is rich in some resources(资), we are short
of(缺乏) others, for eample, fresh water(淡水). It is reported that we will have no coal(煤) or oil to use in 100 years. So if we go on wasting our resources, what can we use in the future and where can we move? Thin about it. I thin we should say no to the students who waste things every day. Everybody should stop wasting as soon as possible.
In our everyday life, we can do many things to prevent waste from happening, for eample, turn off the water taps(水龙头) when we finish washing, turn off the lights when we leave the classroom, try not to order more food than we need, and so on. Little by little, everything will be changed. Waste can be stopped one day, if we do our best.
