A
As computers become more popular in China, Chinese people are increasingly relying on computer keyboards to input Chinese characters. But if they use the computer too much, they may end up forgetting the exact strokes(笔画) of each Chinese character when writing on paper. Experts suggest people, especially students, write by hand more.
Do you write by hand more or type more? In Beijing, students start using a computer as early as primary school. And computer dependence is more widespread among university students. Almost all their assignments and essays are typed on a computer.
All the students interviewed say they usually use a computer.
It's faster and easier to correct if using a computer. And that's why computers are being applied more and more often to modern education. But when people are taking_stock_in computers increasingly, problems appear.
“When I'm writing with a pen, I find I often can't remember how to write a character, though I feel I'm familiar with it.”
“I'm not in the mood to write when faced with a pen and paper.”
Many students don't feel this is something to worry about. Now that it's more convenient and efficient to write on a computer, why bother to handwrite?
Many educators think differently. Shi Liwei, the headmaster of a famous primary school in the capital, said, “Chinese characters enjoy both practical and aesthetic(审美的) value. But those characters typed with computer keyboards only maintain their practical value. All the artistic beauty of the characters is lost. And handwriting contains the writer's emotion. Through one's handwriting, people can get to know
one's thinking and personality. Beautiful writing will give people a better first impression of them.”
To encourage students to handwrite more, many primary schools in Beijing have made writing classes compulsory(必修的) and in universities, some professors are asking students to turn in their homework and essays written by hand.
36.Which of the following can best serve as the title of the passage?
A.The Importance of Handwriting and Typing
B.To Type or to Handwrite

Hand

C.they find it not easy to remember how to write a character
D.computers have become a trend and fashion in China
38.The underlined expression “taking stock in” (Paragraph 4) probably means________.
A.getting bored with B.getting dependent on C.becoming crazy about D.getting curious about 39.We can draw the conclusion from the passage that________.

C.more and more students will pay attention to handwriting

I have to say I usually want to throw up when I hear someone say each of us has
a purpose because I realize that as far as most people are concerned it is the cliche I do believe it is true that as humans we all feel that we must be here for a
purpose, but I also know that most of us have no idea what that purpose is.
For most people the problem is that they don't believe that they have a passion. I know you hear it all the time:“find your passion”. The key step is hard to make if someone is so numb, that they don't know what their passion could possibly be. Somehow we seem to hang onto our failures and limits more than we do our success, which is just human nature. Stop and think about the things that you have always done well and loved to do,which will help you find your passion.
We should know it's easy to determine our purpose, but your purpose must be combined with your passion. For example, I have been involved in weight lifting and fitness since I was in my twenties and have a great deal of self-taught knowledge about bodybuilding. All I had to do was take an exam from a certifying organization to gain my certification and be a fitness trainer which is my purpose. I had a purpose and passion so I made it at last.
Generally, your purpose must be in the area that you love, enjoy and are passionate(狂热的,热诚的) about and that is why you have chosen to spend time and energy to realize it. Your success will always be greater when you are working in an area that you are passionate about.
40.The author believes that________.
A.each of us has a purpose
B.few people have a purpose
C.most of us have a purpose
D.all of us need a purpose
41.Many people can't get rid of their failures because________.
A.they have become very numb
B.they don't know what success is
C.it's difficult to change their nature
D.many things limit their actions
42.The author uses his own example in Paragraph 3 to show that________.A.being a fitness trainer is promising
B.purpose and passion can lead to success
C.it's possible for you to find a purpose
D.all successful people have a purpose
43.You should choose your purpose in the area where
________.
A.you have expert knowledge, interest and passion
B.you have to work hard to make a living
C.you have interest and less special knowledge
D.you enjoy your work and have few skills

We have learned information about global warming, whether in school, from TV programs,or by overhearing the adults around us.The pieces of information and facts are everywhere, but where on earth does global warming come from? How does it relate to our lives? And what can we do to help?
Let's check out The Down to Earth Guide to Global Warming, written by Americans Laurie David and Cambria Gordon. In the book, the concept of sustainability(可持续性的概念)is compared to the love of your pet.“Even though your cat might pee(撒尿)on your bedspread or your dog might chew your favourite shoes, you still keep it.You don't throw it away.”The planet is also compared to your messy room, and CO2 and temperature“go together like peanut butter and jelly(果
While a mere one degree increase in world temperature might seem small,a comparison of a popsicle(冰棒)you can lick(舔)and one you’d have to drink may make your concern for global warming grow.
The book, constructed from 100 percent recycled paper and printed with soy(黄豆)inks, has a chapter“What you can do to stop global warming”.There are tips you might have already known, but the book has more interesting ideas. For example, leading an unplugged(不通电的)life for a day,or considering your career ambitions in light of climate change. From hydrologist(水文工作者)to biofuel(生物燃料)engineer, they are careers that are sustainable and can be realized.
“Kids are the number one influence on their parents. They are guides of change,”said author David.

Generations of children grew up reading comic books secretly, hiding out from
parents and teachers who saw them as a waste of time and a risk to young minds. Comics are now gaining a new respectability at school. That is thanks to an increasingly popular and creative program, often aimed at struggling readers, that encourages children to plot, write and draw comic books, in many cases using themes from their own lives.
The Comic Book Project was started in 2001 by Michael Bitz at an elementary school in Queens. Since its creation, the program, which is mainly conducted after school, has spread to more than 850 schools across the country. It has gotten a big push from the Canent craze among adolescents for comic book clubs and for Manga, a wildly popular variety of comic originating in Japan.
The point i s not to drop a comic book on a child's desk and say: “read this”. Rather, the workshops give groups of students the opportunity to collaborate(合著) on often complex stories and characters that they then revise, publish and share with others in their communities.
Teachers are finding it easier to teach writing, grammar and punctuation with material that students are fully invested in. And it turns out that comic books have other built-in advantages. The pairing of visual and written plotlines that they rely on appear to be especially helpful to struggling readers. No one is suggesting that comic books should substitute for traditional books or for standard reading and composition lessons. Teachers who would once have dismissed comics out of hand are learning to exploit a style that clearly has a powerful hold on young minds. They are using what works.
52.Which of the following is probably the BEST title of the passage?
A.Japanese Comic Books.
B.Comic Books in the Classroom.

Clean air is only made up of nutrition, oxygen and water. Our country has been industrialized; our cities have grown and traffic has increased. For these reasons there has come an increase in the number of byproducts released into the air, such as particles from burning fuels and poisonous gases from chemical reactions. These gases become pollutants.
Air pollution has a bad effect on the earth and our environment. Air pollution can result in acid rain, and it can also lead to the greenhouse effect-a condition in which pollution stops radiation from traveling out of the earth's atmosphere. Due to the greenhouse effect, the temperature on the earth becomes warmer, which is known as global warming. What's more, air pollution may produce holes in the ozone layer-this layer of ozone naturally keeps ultraviolet rays of the sun from reaching the earth. The holes make it possible for the rays to reach us.
Don't let all the bad news about air pollution get you down because there are many ways to help fight the air pollution. Every one of us can employ a variety of solutions to air pollution. A smoker can give up smoking. While shopping, you can choose organic and natural products. Driving less and carpooling more can also contribute to less pollution. Next time, keep your air conditioning low. Of course you can plant more trees.
Air pollution is a major problem for our planet. However, as long as we realize how serious the air pollution is and take action now, everyone can make a difference.

I took out my art brushes and set to work on the sample cartoons now known as“Dilbert”可知,自从“我”放弃画画后,“又一次(Again)”拿起了画笔。

B项意为“他们无视他人不环保的行为”,与倒数第二段最后一句矛盾;C项意为“他们选择更好的化学清洁剂”,与倒数第二段的“Our home is kept clean by vinegar and lemon juice, with no chemical cleaners.”
