Mother's Day
母亲节( Mother's Day)是英美等国家为了表达对 母亲的敬意而设的一个节日。日期是每年的5月 第二个星期日（the 2nd Sunday in May）。
母亲节起源于19世纪60年代的美国。据说当时在美 国 Philadelphia 有一个小地方，人们之间彼此关 系不十分友好，经常打架。当时有一位叫 Mrs. Jarvis 的女士希望能改变这种状况，于是她就开始了 一个所谓“母亲友谊节”（Mother's Friendship Day ）。

A famous festival the world over. We all know today that it is the festival of love, the day on which you declare yourself to the one you love. It falls on the 14th of February.

Christmas is an important festival in Britain and many other parts of the world. On Christmas Eve—the night before Christmas Day–children all over Britain put a stocking at the end of their beds before they go to sleep. Their parents usually tell them that Father Christmas will come during the night.
