3. Seal system
In order to minimize dirty flue gas leak to ambient and clean gas side during GGH running. We adopt three sealing methods to decrease the flue gas leakage. 1. On the hot and on the cold side the rotor is sealed against the stationary casing and the connection ducts by means of the axially acting sealing system. The sealing system consists of the seal frame connected with the heat exchanger casing via compensators and spring points. The seal frames are brought in contact to the rotor front faces under utilisation of the existing weight conditions via settable spring pins. The required pressing forces bottom are created by means of the spring tension which compensate the dead weight of the sealing systems and additionally generate the required pressing forces. Resetting of the seals is also possible from outside during operation due to the accessibility of the spring points.

In order to minimize the raw gas passage to the clean gas side by the seal gap as well as the exchange loss, via a purge gas system hot clean gas is blown in through the bottom seals in the rotor compartments. The seal gas pressure is above the raw gas inlet pressure, Usually the pressure of outlet purge gas should be higher 0.5kpa than the inlet raw gas. in so doing additionally a seal gas of the compartment is achieved. The flue gas flowing through the GGH has a higher pressure than the ambient atmosphere. Therefore, all passages through the casing shell must be sealed by seal air. The seal air is drawn by a fan and preheated by a seal air heater. The outlet seal air pressure should be higher 4kpa. The temperature of outlet seal air should be 50 to 80 degree. Pipes supply seal air to the following components: the shaft sealing at the top side in the area of the guide bearing the shaft sealing at the bottom side in the area of the thrust bearing the passage of the pinion shaft the bearing for the soot blower at the hot end the bearing for the soot blower at the cold end

1. Operation Principle
The Gas- Gas- Heat Exchanger/ GGH of a wet FGD system is used to reheat the flue gas leaving the scrubber prior to entering the stack. • The GGH mainly consists of a rotor with several compartments which carry heating element storage. A rotor- casing with four connecting ducts for in- and outlet of the treated and untreated gas flow and a sealing system which minimizes the leakage of untreated gas into the clean gas flow complete the GGH. • The heating elements consist of profiled, enameled metal sheets, which absorb heat from the raw gas upstream of the scrubber thus cooling the gas flow. As the storage rotates continuously into the clean gas flow, the heat is released to the treated gas thus reheating the gas flow. Raw gas and clean gas pass through the heating elements in counterflow.
