Now in China many restaurants are known for their pets instead of food. They are pet-themed(宠物主题的) restaurants. In the restaurants, cats, dogs, ducks, rabbits or other animals walk in the dining area, and people can play with them while eating or having drinks. With so many pet lovers today, it isn’t surprisin g that such restaurants are now everywhere in Chinese cities. However, few people think whether it is safe to enjoy their food in such an environment.
In most of the pet-themed restaurants, many cats o dogs are allowed to walk freely in their living areas and even in the dining space. Even worse, animal hairs are everywhere, and bad smell fills the restaurants. In one of the dog-themed restaurants, the dogs fight, jump onto the dining table or even poop in the dining area.
There was a hearing about the business pattern of the pet-themed restaurants and their food safety in Guangzhou. Some people at the meeting talked about their concern. They thought that the animals in the pet-themed restaurants might carry parasites(寄生虫) and spread diseases,
which were harmful to people. Besides, although the animals were kept by the restaurants as pets, they might attack(攻击) people.
As more pets are entering Chinese families, they have become an important part of people’s daily life. The growing pet-themed restaurants have made people's life interesting and colourful. However, without rules and regulations, the restaurants can't be good choices for people.

Thousands of people went to the Rocky Mountains in the USA to look for $2 million of treasure. The treasure belonged to Forrest Fenn. In 2010, when he was 80, he went into the Rocky Mountains by car and then on foot. He put the treasure somewhere in the woods. So that’s one clue to its location: an old man could walk there with a heavy box.
But the nine most important clues are in a poem. They are much more difficult to understand. Here is one part to start with:
Begin it where warm waters stop
And take it in the canyon down,
Not far, but too far to walk.
Put in below the home of Brown.
“Warm waters”and “the home of Brown”might be important clues. Warm and cold water could be two rivers. Brown might be a person because names usually start with a capital letter. So, maybe you should look for people called Brown who live in the Rocky Mountains. Unluckily, a lot of people have the surname Brown!
The only way to test your ideas was to try and find the treasure. Forrest said people should wait until spring because winter weather is dangerous. He also said people shouldn’t go alone. But not everyone listened. Some people went missing while they were looking for the treasure. The
police wanted Forrest to take the treasure and put a photo of himself with the box on the Internet. They thought the treasure hunters would stop looking for it and that no more people would die.
But Forrest said no. He thought people spent too much time inside their houses and offices on their computers and phones. He wanted families to learn about nature and have adventures together.
His plan worked. Some treasure hunters had looked for the box many times. Marti and her daughter Libbi travelled from their home in Georgia to look for the treasure. Libbi said, “I was really afraid of bears around every corner for the first two years, but I slowly become less afraid of animals. I love seeing so many animal sup close, camping in the mountains and crossing rivers. It's all so exciting, even if we never find the treasure.”
But there were people who thought the whole thing was a trick. Some said maybe Forrest had a box of treasure, but they didn't believe he put it in the mountains. Others said he took the box back years ago. But many of the people who said it was a trick still went to the Rocky Mountains to test their ideas.
In 2020, it was found in Wyoming by a treasure hunter. In order to honour what he perceived to be Fenn's wishes after his death in September 2020, the hunter refused to reveal the location of the treasure.
6. What can we learn about Forrest Fenn?
A. He got $2 million of treasure in the mountain.
B. He lost a box of treasure in the woods.
C. He hid a great deal of treasure in the mountain.
D. He asked people to help him find the box.
7. How many clues did a treasure hunter need in all?
A. Two.
B. Five.
C. Nine.
D. Ten.
8. How could one know whether the clues he had were useful?
A. By learning the poem by heart.
B. By trying to find the treasure.
C. By searching Forrest’s website.
D. By checking them with Brown.
9. What did Forrest Fenn probably mean to do?
A. He hoped someone would get rich by finding the treasure there.
B. He wanted to play a trick on people.
C. He hoped people would get close to nature instead of staying inside.
D. He wanted people to pay attention to him so that he could become famous.
10. What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A. Lots of people will still go to look for the treasure in the future.
B. The treasure hunter didn’t make the location of the treasure public.
C. Someone found the box and gave the treasure to charity.
D. The treasure hunter will share the $2million of treasure.

It is important to have good learning habits if you want to study well. And this is especially true when it comes to online learning.
Online learning is a process different from what you can find in a traditional school. The learning environment and methods are different.
When students study in a classroom, there is a lot of communication between the students and the teacher, but little interaction(互动) among the students, while online learning helps one student and another to interact very seriously and closely. So one of an online professor's roles is to encourage(鼓励) students to interact. Another is to guide the discussion but not to take total control of students' thoughts as teachers do in a classroom.
So what are the good learning habits you should have in online learning? Here are some good suggestions. First, it is a good idea to prepare well for online learning. You can write down daily tasks and even weekly tasks that you want to complete. By doing so, you will have a good plan for achieving your goals. Second, you should spend as much time online as that you spend on regular courses. Also, always try to set aside extra time to communicate with other students.
Besides this, any post you put up online shows who you are. So make sure that your homework is finished on time so that you won't fall behind.

The elephants are very big and strong. They are grey. They have long trunks and tusks. They have big ears.
They have poor eyesight, but have good hearing. They can smell things well and lift the heavy things with their trunks. They can walk on tiptoes. They are friendly to people and kind to other animals.
Now the number of the elephants is getting smaller and smaller. People take up the land and kill the elephants for their tusks.
We should take action to protect them. We can build more reserves and help them have more babies.。
