关于学校生活让我的生活更美好的英语作文
My Wonderful School Life
Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I love going to school every day because it makes my life so much better in so many ways. School is awesome!
First of all, I get to learn new things every single day at school. My favorite subjects are math, science, and art. In math, we've been learning about fractions and decimals this year. At first, I found it really confusing and frustrating. But my teacher, Mrs. Robinson, is really great at explaining things clearly. She uses hands-on activities with blocks and pizzas cut into slices to help me understand. Now fractions make total sense to me!
Science is super cool because we get to do lots of fun experiments. A few weeks ago, we learned about chemical reactions by mixing baking soda and vinegar. The fizzing explosion was so neat! We also planted bean seeds in cups and have been watching them sprout and grow taller each day. I can't wait to take my little bean plant home at the end of the school year.
In art class with Mr. Kahn, we've been working on
self-portraits. He taught us tips for drawing realistic faces, like
making sure the eyes are the right distance apart. My
self-portrait actually looks just like me, which makes me proud. We've also experimented with different materials like oil pastels, watercolors, and clay. Creating art is a great way to express myself.
Another thing I love about school is seeing my friends every day. We have so much fun together at recess playing on the swings, going across the monkey bars, and chasing each other around for games of tag. Sometimes we also play quiet games like trading sticker collections or handclapping rhymes during indoor recess.
My best friends are Anna and Riley. Anna is really good at math too, so we often work together on our weekly timed multiplication tests. Riley tells the funniest jokes and makes me laugh until my stomach hurts. We've been friends since kindergarten! The three of us always have lunch together and that's our favorite time of day to chat and giggle about everything.
School isn't all just academics and playing though. We also learn important life skills, like being a good friend, staying organized, and handling our emotions in a positive way. Our school counselor, Mr. Lewis, visits every class once a week. He
teaches sessions on topics like managing anger, dealing with worries, and showing kindness to others. We do role-playing activities that make the lessons really stick.
For example, we recently acted out scenarios about resolving conflicts without harsh words or physical fights. I was paired up with Jackson, who can sometimes lose his temper easily. We pretended we were arguing over a kickball game. Instead of yelling or pushing, we took deep breaths, used "I" statements to describe our feelings, and found a compromise to play a different game. Practicing these skills makes me feel more confident in handling tricky social situations.
We also have responsibilities at school that teach us good habits. We have classroom jobs, like person of the week who leads the calendar time, line leader, or clean-up crew. I was the plant watering person last month and remembered to give our classroom's potted flowers a drink every couple days. Taking charge of these little jobs gives us a sense of ownership and helps build discipline.
My organizational skills have really improved too, thanks to school. We have assigned cubbies and desks to keep our belongings neat. We also use special folders and binders for our work in each subject. This prevents random crumpled papers
from getting shoved in my backpack and lost forever! Mrs. Robinson does binder checks every Friday and moveable classroom inspections to make sure we are all staying tidy.
Of course, school has its downsides too. Some things I don't love are pop quizzes, having to wake up early, fire drills that interrupt our lessons, and the gross-looking mystery meatloaf they serve some days in the cafeteria. Math homework can also be a struggle for me sometimes when I get stuck on a tricky concept. Overall though, the positive parts of school definitely outweigh the negatives!
The education I'm receiving is preparing me for future success. The academic knowledge, social skills, and life lessons will all serve me well as I get older. The creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving involved make my brain grow stronger. School gives my life structure, friends, chances to explore my interests, and pride in my accomplishments. That's why I absolutely love going to school and why it improves my life tremendously. These really are the best days!。
