The First Period
Knowledge objectives:
Using adverbs of sequency。

Ability objectives:
Let the students read and write about how children will develop and what job they may do in the future.

Arouse the students to study hard in order to realize their ideals。

Pre—task preparation
Ask: What will you be like in 15 years’ time?
What job will you do?
While-task procedure
1)New words
centimetre, weigh, kilogram, weigh, spacecraft, astronaut,magic , button
2)Give the students time to look at the pictures in Read and match.
3)In pairs, students read the sentences and number the sequence.
Select individual students to read out the text in the correct sequence。

4)Play the cassette for Read and Learn. The students listen and
repeat。

Ask: What will Kitty be like in fifteen years’ time?
What job will she do?

The Second Period
Knowledge objectives:
1)Using the simple present tense to express interests and thoughts。

5.Select a pair of students to read out the first description. Ask
questions:

6.Select a pair of students to read out the second dialogue。

Select individual students to read out the second description.
Ask questions:

7.Talk about individual students in the class。
