二. 音节与音节划分知识
1. 音节
以元音为主体构成的发音单位,一般说来元音发音响亮,可以构成音节,辅音发音不响亮,不能单独构成音节([m] [n] [ŋ ] [l]例外)。
从单词拼写形式上看,有几个元音字母就有几个音节。
2. 音节的划分
① 在重读音节和非重读音节的相邻处有两个辅音字母时,一个辅音字母组属于前面的音节,一个属于后面的音节。
例如:let-ter,mem-ber,chil-dren,daugh-ter
② 在重读和非重读音节的相邻处只有一个辅音字母时,如果前面重读音节里的元音是长音则辅字组属于后面一个音节,如果重读音节里的元音是短音,则辅音字母属于重读音节。
例如:长音pa-per,stu-dent,fa-ther,ze-ro,mo-tor,far-ther
短音sev-en,stud-y,moth-er,ver-y,mod-le ,weath-er
3. 重读音节
单词中读音特别响亮的音节。
用音标标记双音节、多音节词的读音时,应使用重读符号。
单音节词多数是重读音节,标记读音时不需要使用重读符号。
4. 开音节
① 绝对开音节:单个元音字母后面没有辅音字母的重读音节。
例如:no,blue,ba-by,stu-dent,se-cret
② 相对开音节:单个元音字母后面加单个辅音字母,再加一个不发音字母e构成的重读音节。
例如:name,these,bike,home,excuse
5. 闭音节
单个元音字母后面有辅音字母(r、w、y 除外)且以辅音字母结尾的重读音节。
例如:bag,egg,fish,not,cup
6. 双音节词重读规则
① 双音节词的第一个音节通常是重读音节。
例如:stu-dent,Chi-na,sec-ond,au-tumn
② 含有a- be- de- re- in- ex-等前缀的双音节词往往是在第二个音节上重读。
双音节词的重读位置不会因增加前缀或后缀而发生改变。
例如:a-bout,be-fore,ex-cuse,re-pair,for-get-ful,in-ven-tor
7. 多音节词重读规则
多音节词通常在倒数第三个音节重读。
例如:el-e-phant
词尾有-ic 或-tion,-sion 的词,在-ic或-sion,-tion前的一个音节上重读。
例如:scien-tific,im-pression,na-tion

在非重读音节中,许多单词中的元音字母a e i 既可以读作[ə]音可以读作[i]音。

5、-re音节元音字组在重读音节中的读音

7、非重读音节中元音字组和字群的读音

8、元字组在复合词非重读音节中的读音
复合词中的第二部分不标注重音符号,但其中的元音字母或元音字组仍按重读音节拼读规则拼读。
例如:everyday[ei]handbag[æ]blackboard[ɔ:]有些词随着语言的发展,前后两部分已失去其单独存在的意义,融合成为一个词。
其中的非重读部分要按非重读音节的读音规则发音。

第一阶:建立字母与字母自然发音之间的直接联系。
第二阶:能够成功拼读元音+辅音(辅音+元音)。

第四阶:能够成功拼读双音节或多音节单词。

1. 自然拼读法的第一步是掌握二十六个字母的读音(Letter Sounds). 其中五个元音字母(a, e, i, o, u)发两种音。
2. 第二步是进行单元音字母的拼读练习,如:Sam, cat, mat, 等等.
3. 第三步, 是固定读音的单词: the, a, is, to, have 等.
4. 第四步,是一个单词里有两个元音时,前边一个元音发字母音,后边一个元音不发音,如:make, made, sea, five, nine, road等等.
5. 第五步, 是双/三辅音在一起时怎么联读, 如: bl(ack), str(eet)等;有一些辅音不发音,如:ghost,comb, lamb等;要掌握一下和"h"联在一起的发音:ch, sh, th, wh。
6. 第六步,是特殊读法:
单音节词,以元音结尾,这个元音发字母音.如:me, hi, go 等等
Irregular: ar (car), ay(hay, may, say), igh (high, night, might), ew (new), er (sister, brother), ur(burn, hurt), ir (girl, fir, firm), or (horn), eigh (eight), oi (oil, boil), oy(boy), ow等有其特别的发音."c" 和"k" 在一起时,发一个音: quick, black等.

词的重音与次重音
重音:单音节词单独读时都重读,而不必标重音符号;两个或两个以上的音节才有重音.两个音节重音符号标注在第一个音节前.
次重音:在含有3个或更多音节的单词中,有的除了有主重音还有次重音,次重音表示读该音节时要弱于重音节而强于其他音节.(注:一个元音和一个辅音组成一个音节;其中m,n,l单独组成一个音节)
重音与次重音一般规律
1、双音节词的重音多数在第一个音节上.如: ′daily, ′matter, ′clever,
2、带a, be, en, for, im, in, mis, pre, pro, to, trans, un等这些不可分的前缀的双音节词,重音常落在第二个音节上.
如:a′bove, be′lieve, en′dure , for′get, im′ply, in′stead, mis′take, pro′vide,
un′less, to′day, trans′port
3、多音节词的重音多落在倒数第三个音节上.如:′satisfy, mag′nificent, i′mmediately.
4、以ic, ial, ian, ion等后缀结尾的多音节次,重音落在倒数第二个音节上.如:re′public,
mu′sician
5、三个音节以上的词除了主重音外往往还带有一个次重音.次重音多落在第一个或第二个音节上.
如:pr′onunci′ation, ex′ami′nation

1. 英语中派生词的重音和词根重音一致.派生词就是一些有同样词根的词.比如:act, active, actively com’pare com’parison
2. 带有下列后缀的词:-ary, -ery, -ory, -ism, -ist, -mony, -ment, -ary等,重音通常在第一个音节上.例如:customary scientist slavery factory realism
3. 带下列前缀的词:a-, ab-, ac-, ad-, al-, be-, con-, de-, dis-, em-, en-, in-, mis-, re-, tans-, un-重音通常在第二音节上.例如:a’bout ab’duce ac’cede ad’mire be’long con’sult de’tect dis’like
4. 带下列后缀的词:-aim, -ain, -cur, -eem, -duce, -ere, -firm, -gn, -oin, -oke, -ose, -pt, -rce, -self, -ume重音通常在第二音节. Contain occur sincere design confirm
5. 带下列后缀的词:-ade, -ain, -ee, -eer, -esque, -ette, -ique, -ine, -oon重音通常在最后一个音节.这些词一般都是从法语中借来的词.例如:emplo’yee an’tique maga’zine ci’gar volun’teer gaso’line

语音的基本常识
音节的划分:一个单词的音标有几个元音就有几个音节
重读音节:任何双音节或多音节单词的音标中,有重读音节和非重读音节,哪一个重读,该音节的左上方或该音节的元音上方标有重读符号“ ‘ ”
浊化音:以sp、st、sk开头的单词中,清辅音/p/ /t/ /k/分别要发浊辅音/b/ /d/ /g/
定冠词the:当the在元音前面时,读/ði/;当the在辅音前面时,读/ðə/
不完全爆破音:/p/ /b/ /t/ /d/ /k/ /g/后面紧跟另一个爆破音时,前面的那个爆破音只在口腔内形成阻碍,而不能完全读出
连读:在一个短语或句子中,如果相邻两词的关系相等密切,而前一个词以辅音结尾,后一个词以元音开头,辅音和元音连在一起读
意群的停顿:对于一个较长的句子,可以根据意思和结构将其分成几群,一个意群必须一口气说完
字母组合一般规则
以mb结尾的单词,结尾的b都是不发音的\x0b例如:tomb dumb bomb comb lamb climb 结

当kn字母组合出现在词首的时候,k是不发音的.
当w出现在辅音字母r前面的时候,w不发音,只发r 的音,想想看,我们经常都会说的一句话就是What's wrong with you? 中的wrong就是一个非常典型的例子. 例如:wrack失事船只wrist 手腕, 腕关节wreck wrong 错误wring 掐,绞, 扭write wrote
字母L的发音
(1)字母L在元音字母A之后,而且是在辅音字母F或V之前,也就是alf 或alv这样组合的时侯L 经常不发音. 例如:calf 小牛half 一半behalf 利益halve 平分
(2)当字母l在元音字母a或o之后且位于辅音字母k或m之前时, L 通常是不发音的.例如:

字母g什么时候不发音?
1. 当字母组合gn出现在单词前面或者结尾的时候,g通常是不发音的. 例如:Sign 标志foreign外国的design设计resign辞职gnat 小昆虫align 排队reign朝代gnarled 多节的而当gn字母组合出现在词中的时候,g通常是发音的.例如:

2. 当字母组合gm出现在单词前面或者结尾的时候,g通常是不发音的例:paradigm
而当gm字母组合出现在词中的时候,g通常是发音的.例如:paradigmatic
在大多数情况下,t在词中的时候发/d/ 的音是美式英语里面的一个很明显的发音特征.比如说:better matter water later letter 中的/t/ 都发成/d/的音. I'll see you later. I feel much better.
英语连读规则
连读的条件:相邻的两词在意义上必须密切相关,同属一个意群。
连读所构成的音节一般都不重读,只需顺其自然地一带而过,不可读得太重,也不可音。
(连读符号:~)
(1)“辅音+元音”型连读
在同一个意群里,如果相邻两词中的前一个词是以辅音结尾,后一个词是以元音开头,这就要将辅音与元音拼起来连读。
I’m~an~English boy.
It~is~an~old book.
Let me have~a look~at~it.
Ms Black worked in~an~office last~yesterday.
I called~you half~an~hour~ago.
Put~it~on, please.

(2)“r/re+元音”型连读
如果前一个词是以-r或者-re结尾,后一个词是以元音开头,这时的r或re不但要发/r/,而且还要与后面的元音拼起来连读。

There~are some books on the desk.
Here~is a letter for you.
Here~are four~eggs.

但是,如果一个音节的前后都有字母r,即使后面的词以元音开头,也不能连读。

(3)“辅音+半元音”型连读
语音中的/j/和/w/是半元音,如果前一个词是以辅音结尾,后一个词是以半元音,特别是/j/开头,此时也要连读。

“音的同化”
—常把/d/+/j/读成/dV/,did you听上成了/dIdVu/,would you成了/wudVu/,could you成了/kudVu/。
(4)“元音+元音”型连读如果前一个词以元音结尾,后一个词以元音开头,这两个音往往也要自然而不间断地连读到一起。

(5)当短语或从句之间按意群进行停顿时,意群与意群之间即使有两个相邻的辅音与元音出现,也不可连读。

失去爆破,又叫不完全爆破,就是在某些情况下,只须做出发音的准备,但并不发音,稍稍停顿后就发后面的音。
