Last month, our school organized a volunteer activity to help the elderly in our community. I was so excited to be a part of it!First, we went to the local nursing home. It was my first time visiting a nursing home, and I felt a little nervous. But as soon as we started talking to the elderly residents, I felt so happy. They were all so kind and grateful for our help. We helped them with their daily activities, like reading to them, playing games, and just chatting with them. It was such a rewarding experience.Next, we went to the park to clean up the trash. It was a hot day, but we didn't mind because we were having so much fun working together. We picked up all the trash we could find and made the park look so much better. 关于志愿者八年级英语作文(通用9篇)
关于志愿者八年级英语作文(通用9篇)全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Volunteers Are Awesome!Hey there! My name is Jamie and I'm in 8th grade. Today I want to tell you all about volunteers and why they are just so awesome. Volunteers are people who choose to help others by giving their time and energy for free. They don't get paid, but they make a huge difference in their communities and the world.I've had some great experiences with volunteers in my life. At my school, we have a bunch of volunteer tutors and mentors who come help students like me with our schoolwork. These tutors are usually college students or retired teachers and they are super smart and patient. They meet with us after school to go over anything we're struggling with - math, reading, you name it. My tutor Mark always makes time to listen if I'm having a hard day and he never makes me feel dumb for asking questions. Thanks to him, I finally understand algebra!Volunteers also run a lot of the after-school activities and clubs at my school. There's a volunteer who leads the art club, another who manages the drama club's plays and musicals, and even a group of high school volunteers who coach our sports teams. Without volunteers, my school wouldn't have half the cool opportunities it does. My friend Samantha is in the drama club and she says the volunteer director is amazing at bringing out everyone's talents. But volunteers don't just help out at schools. They lend a hand in so many other places too. Have you ever been to a hospital? Well, there are tons of volunteers at hospitals - they might greet people at the front desk, deliver flowers to patients, or even cuddle babies in the nursery! Volunteers at animal shelters take the dogs for walks and play with the cats so they get socialized. There are volunteers who serve meals at soup kitchens, plant trees in parks, and build houses for people in need. Basically, if you can think of someone who needs help, there's probably a volunteer trying to make their life a little easier. Some of the most amazing volunteers are the ones who travel to other countries to provide aid after natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, or floods. They risk their own safety to deliver food, water, medical supplies, and shelter to suffering people. My class studied the 2010 Haiti earthquake a few yearsago and we learned how volunteers set up tent cities and mobile hospitals to care for all the injured people. It was so inspiring hearing their stories of courage and compassion. But you don't have to go overseas to be an awesome volunteer. There are tons of great ways to volunteer right here in our community! My grandpa is a volunteer driver for ameals-on-wheels program that delivers hot food to elderly people who can't easily leave their homes. My best friend Julia and her family volunteer at our local food bank a few times a month, sorting and packing up donations. For her latest birthday, Julia asked everyone to bring canned foods instead of gifts so she could donate them. How cool is that?I haven't been a volunteer yet myself, but I definitely plan to once I get a little older. There's a youth volunteer program at the animal shelter that I really want to join - I would love to get to hang out with dogs and cats while helping a good cause! My mom says we should look for opportunities to do some volunteering together over the summer too. I think it will feel amazing to spend my free time making someone else's life brighter.Of course, volunteers don't just help other people - they also gain a lot themselves. Volunteering teaches you responsibility, organization, and leadership skills. It looks super great on college applications and job resumes. Plus, you get to meet new people, make friends, and be part of a community. But most of all, volunteering gives you a wonderful sense of purpose by allowing you to put good into the world. Helpers just seem happier to me.So as you can see, volunteers totally rock. They give up their free time, work really hard, and ask for nothing in return except the chance to help others. Volunteers make the world a kinder, brighter, more beautiful place for all of us. Don't you want to be one of those awesome helpers too?I'm going to leave you with a quote that really inspires me: "Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless." Let's hear it for all the priceless volunteers out there - hip hip hooray! If you see a volunteer today, be sure to thank them for me.篇2Volunteers Are Awesome!Have you ever seen people helping out at a food bank or cleaning up a park? Those people are volunteers, and they are super cool! Volunteers help make our community a better place. They are kind people who give their time to do good things for others without getting paid. I think volunteers are awesome. One way volunteers help is by giving food to people who don't have enough to eat. They work at food banks and food pantries. A food bank is a big place that collects donated food. Food pantries are smaller and give the food directly to hungry families. My mom takes me to volunteer at our local food pantry sometimes. We pack up bags with cans, boxes, and other foods that people have donated. Then families can come pick up the bags so they have food for meals. It feels really good to help give people healthy food.Another way volunteers help is by taking care of animals. There are animal shelters where volunteers play with the dogs and cats, feed them, clean up after them, and make sure they are happy until they can find new forever homes. My friend Julia volunteers at the animal shelter every week. She says the dogs are always so excited to see her and get pets and treats! Cats like getting brushed too. The shelter couldn't take care of all those animals without volunteer help.Volunteers also help keep parks and outdoor spaces looking nice. They pick up litter, pull weeds, plant trees and flowers, and maintain hiking trails. Last year, my scout troop did a volunteerday at the city park. We split into teams to clean up different areas. My team picked up so many bottles, cans, and wrappers that people had left behind. It was hard work but we felt proud when our section looked spotless. Parks are much more enjoyable without trash everywhere. At school, there are volunteer opportunities too. Some kids volunteer to be crossing guards and help little kids cross the street safely in the morning and after school. Others volunteer to read books to kindergarten classes or be student tutors. Volunteers can help in the library, school gardens, and computer labs too. My older brother volunteers in the library during his free period. He shelves returned books and helps students find what they need. Easy volunteer jobs like that make the school run smoother. You can also volunteer your special skills. My uncle is really good at fixing cars, so he volunteers at a shop that repairs vehicles for low-income families. Kids can volunteer too if they have useful skills like being good at math, computers, art, music, or other activities. Maybe you are an awesome basketball player - you could volunteer to help coach a youth team. Or if you love reading, you could volunteer to read stories at a library orretirement home. Sharing your talents is a great way to volunteer.Big events like races, concerts, and festivals also need lots of volunteers to make them happen. Volunteers hand out programs, give directions, set up and clean up supplies, and do all kinds of jobs. It's fun to volunteer for your favorite events and be part of the action. My dad is a big baseball fan, so he volunteers to collect tickets and show people to their seats at baseball games in the summer. I went with him a couple times and got to go inside the stadium early - it was way cool!Anyone can be a volunteer from little kids to grandparents. It doesn't matter if you are a boy or girl, short or tall, good at school or not. All you need is a kind heart and a willingness to help others. You can volunteer just once in a while for a couple hours, or make it a regular weekly activity. Volunteering makes you feel good inside, lets you learn new skills, get exercise, and meet new people. But most importantly, volunteers make their community better by helping others.I hope after reading this, you feel inspired to become a volunteer too! Talk to your parents, teachers, or youth group leaders about volunteer opportunities in your area. Or just look around your neighborhood for places that could use a helpinghand. Decide what type of volunteering fits your interests and schedule. Then get out there and start making a difference - the world needs more awesome volunteers like you!篇3Being a Volunteer: My Awesome Experience!Hey guys! Today I want to tell you all about my experience being a volunteer. It's been such an amazing journey and I've learned so much. I hope by the end of this essay, you'll be inspired to volunteer too!It all started last year when my English teacher, Mrs. Johnson, announced that our school was looking for student volunteers to help out at the local community center. She said it would be great experience, looked good on college applications, and allowed us to give back. I wasn't sure at first, but my best friend Samantha was really excited about it, so I decided to sign up with her.Our first day at the community center was a littlenerve-wracking, I'm not gonna lie. We had to attend an orientation where they explained all the different volunteer roles and responsibilities. There were opportunities to serve food at the soup kitchen, help little kids with homework at theafter-school program, or pack boxes of donations at the food pantry. Sam and I decided to split our time between the homework help and food pantry. Those first few weeks were definitely an adjustment! Working at the homework club was tough because you had to be so patient with the kids. Some of them struggled a lot and it was hard not to get frustrated when they didn't understand something. But Mr. Mike, the program coordinator, showed us techniques to make learning fun through games and positive reinforcement. Slowly but surely, we got the hang of it.The food pantry was awesome too, but pretty physical work. We had to lift heavy boxes of canned goods, sort through donations, and stack everything neatly on shelves. By the end of our shift, we were absolutely exhausted! But it felt amazing to know we were helping to fight hunger and provide food for families in need.As the weeks went by, volunteering became something I actually looked forward to. The community center felt like a second home, and all the staff, volunteers and people we served became like a second family. Sam and I formed such a bond with "our" kids at homework club. It was the best feeling in the world when one of them finally understood a tough math concept oraced their spelling test. At the food pantry, we got to know all the regulars by name and they'd always ask how we were doing in school. My favorite moments though were when we got thanked or heard someone's inspiring story. One day, a mom came up to me and Sam in tears saying the after-school program allowed her to work a job to provide for her kids, instead of worrying where they'd be. An elderly man told us that without the food pantry, he'd go hungry most weeks. Hearing how much of an impact our small efforts made was so powerful.Honestly, I can't put into words how much volunteering has changed my life and perspective. It taught me to be more grateful for what I have, more empathetic to other people's struggles, and that no effort is too small to make a difference. Sure, it was hard work and unpaid, but the fulfillment I felt was better than any paycheck.I truly believe that serving others, even in little ways, is one of the most rewarding things you can do. We're all in this together, you know? I'm going to keep volunteering for the rest of my life, wherever I go. Who's with me?!So there you have it, friends - my volunteer experience in a nutshell! If you've made it this far, you must be at least a littleinspired, right? Don't wait any longer, find a cause you care about and get out there! Your community needs you. Trust me, you won't regret it one bit.篇4Volunteers Are Super Cool!Hi everyone! Today I want to tell you all about volunteers. Volunteers are really awesome people who help others without getting paid. They do it just because they want to make the world a better place. Isn't that amazing? In my school, we have lots of volunteer opportunities for 8th graders to get involved with. One way to volunteer is by being a reading buddy. As a reading buddy, you get paired up with a younger student and you meet up every week to read books together. It's a fun way to help little kids practice their reading skills while getting to know them better.Another cool way to volunteer is by joining the environmental club. The environmental club does projects to help protect nature and keep our school "green." You might help plant a garden, setup recycling bins, or clean up litter around the neighborhood. Getting outdoors and getting your hands dirty can be a blast! If you love animals, then volunteering at the local animal shelter is the opportunity for you! You can help take care of dogs and cats that don't have homes yet. Playing with the puppies and kittens is definitely the best part. But you also help by feeding them, giving them baths, and cleaning their living areas. It's a lot of work but so rewarding when you know you're helping those sweet furry friends. For students who like working with kids, being a tutor is an awesome volunteer job. You can tutor younger students who need some extra help with their schoolwork. Maybe they're struggling with math or need practice reading out loud - as a tutor, you get to provide that one-on-one support to help them improve. Seeing a student's face light up when they finally understand something is the best feeling ever!Volunteering at a hospital, food bank, or retirement home are other great options too. No matter what kind of volunteering you do, you're making a positive impact. And that's what's so cool about it!The best thing is, volunteering helps other people for sure. But it's also amazing for the volunteers themselves. You learn crucial life skills like responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. You get to step outside your comfort zone, meet new people, and try new experiences. Volunteering helps boost yourself-confidence and gives you a sense of pride and accomplishment. It's honestly just super fun!I remember my first time volunteering, I was pretty nervous at first. I didn't know what to expect. But the people running the volunteer program were so welcoming and helpful. They trained us and explained everything we needed to do. Once I got started, it was fantastic! The other student volunteers were all really nice too. We worked together, had a ton of laughs, and by the end I had made some new friends.Volunteering lets you give back to your community while doing activities you enjoy. It looks awesome on job and college applications down the road too. But most importantly, it makes you feel amazing inside knowing you're doing good deeds to help make the world better. When you look at all the great benefits, it's easy to see why every 8th grader should try to find a way to volunteer this year. The opportunities are endless, plus it's a fantastic way to spend your free time. You're never too young to start making a difference! If you've never volunteered before, I highly encourage you to go for it. Talk to your teachers, parents, or school counselorsabout different volunteer programs to join. Or you can even just look around your neighborhood and community to see where some volunteer help might be needed. It's such an easy way to step up and pitch in.Once you start volunteering, you'll totally get hooked. It's an unbelievably rewarding experience that you'll remember forever. You'll make new friends, learn about yourself, and feel proud contributing to awesome causes. What could be cooler than that?So don't wait - become a volunteer superhero today! Your community needs you. Just a few hours of your time can create a huge positive impact. And I can promise, you'll have an absolute blast doing it. Volunteering really is the best!篇5My Life as a VolunteerHi there! My name is Alex, and I'm in 8th grade. I love being a volunteer, and I want to tell you all about my experiences. It's such an amazing thing to do, and I always feel so happy and proud when I help others. When I was younger, my parents used to take me to volunteer events during the holidays. We would go to soup kitchens and shelters to serve food to people who didn't have homes or families to spend the holidays with. Seeing their grateful smiles was the best gift I could ever receive. In 4th grade, I joined the school's volunteer club. We did all sorts of cool projects like beach cleanups, visiting nursing homes, and helping out at animal shelters. I loved playing with the puppies and kittens – they were so cute and cuddly! The elderly people at the nursing homes also loved when we came to visit. They would tell us stories about their lives, and we would sing songs or read books to them. One of my favorite volunteer experiences was when our club went to a children's hospital. We got to dress up in silly costumes and go room to room, entertaining the kids who were sick. It was amazing to see their faces light up with joy, even though they weren't feeling well. We played games, did magic tricks, and told jokes. For a little while, we helped them forget about being in the hospital.Last year, I started volunteering at the local library. I love books so much, and it's really cool to help other kids find great stories to read. Sometimes I get to read aloud to little kids duringstory time, which is a lot of fun. I also help shelve books and keep the library looking neat and organized. This summer, I'm going on a volunteer trip to help build houses for families in need. I'll be working with a group from my church to construct simple, safe homes for people who don't have a decent place to live. It's going to be really hard work, but I'm excited to learn new skills and make a big difference in someone's life.Volunteering has taught me so many valuable lessons. I've learned to be more patient, kind, and understanding toward others. I've gained confidence in myself and discovered new talents I didn't know I had. Most importantly, I've learned that one person really can make the world a better place, even if it's just by putting a smile on someone's face.I plan to continue volunteering for the rest of my life. There's nothing quite like the feeling of helping others and knowing that you've made a positive impact, even in a small way. To all my fellow kids out there, I highly recommend getting involved with volunteering. You'll make new friends, learn cool new things, and feel amazing about yourself. What could be better than that?So there you have it – my life as a volunteer so far. I've had so many wonderful experiences, and I know there are many moreto come. If you've never volunteered before, I encourage you to give it a try. You might just find your new favorite hobby...and change the world at the same time!篇6Being a Volunteer is Way Cool!Hi friends! Today I want to tell you about the super awesome experience I had being a volunteer. It was so much fun and I learned a ton of great stuff. I can't wait to share all the details with you!It all started when my English teacher, Mrs. Johnson, told our class that we needed to do 10 hours of community service this semester. At first, I was like "Ugh, that's so much work!" But then she explained that we could volunteer for different organizations around town. That sounded a lot better than cleaning up litter in the park like we did last year.Mrs. Johnson gave us a list of places that needed volunteers. There were options like the animal shelter, the library, the food bank, the senior center, and the hospital. She said we had to pick one and get our parents to sign a permission slip.I really wanted to volunteer at the animal shelter because I'm obsessed with dogs and cats. Unfortunately, a bunch of other kids had the same idea, so the spots filled up fast. My second choice was the food bank because my mom is always saying how important it is to help people who don't have enough to eat. When I brought the permission slip home, my mom was really excited. She said volunteering would look great on my record for high school applications. I'm not sure what that means, but it made her happy at least! The first day I went to the food bank, I didn't really know what to expect. It was in this huge warehouse with metal shelves stacked high with boxes and cans of food. There were also big fridges and freezers full of milk, eggs, meat and other perishables. The volunteer coordinator, Jessica, welcomed me and the other kids. She said our job would be to sort through all the food donations and pack them into boxes and bags to give to families in need. It sounded easy enough.Well, let me tell you, it was not as easy as I thought! First of all, categorizing all the food was really hard. There were so many different types of canned goods, boxes, bags, jars, you name it.We had to check expiration dates, separate by type, and sort by size. My arms got so tired from lifting and carrying! The worst part was dealing with the dented cans. We couldn't include those in the food boxes, so we had to take each one out, remove the label, and use a special tool to punch a hole in it to drain out the contents. That was pretty gross, let me tell you! Especially the ones with mystery meat or vegetables. Blech!Despite how tiring and kinda smelly it was, I actually had a really great time volunteering at the food bank. All the kids worked together as a team to get everything organized efficiently. The coordinators were awesome at giving us snack breaks and keeping our spirits up when we started to drag. But you know what the best part was? At the end of each shift, we got to go out into the parking lot and hand out the food boxes to people driving through in their cars. Seeing the looks on their faces when they got fresh milk, produce, and all the other essentials made me feel so happy inside.A lot of the people said "Thank you" or "God bless you" with huge smiles. A little girl even gave me a picture she colored to say thanks! Moments like that made all the hard work worth it. Knowing I was helping to nourish families who really needed it was the most incredible feeling. In total, I ended up volunteering at the food bank for 20 hours over 4 weekends. By the end, I felt like part of the team and had made some new friends with the other volunteers. The coordinators even gave me a free t-shirt and water bottle!I definitely recommend that everyone try volunteering at some point. It's such an amazing way to help others while also helping yourself. You learn patience, teamwork, and gratitude. And who knows, you might discover a cause you're really passionate about!I plan to keep volunteering at the food bank over future breaks when I can. My experience there opened my eyes to how many people struggle with hunger and food insecurity. It's such an important issue that doesn't get enough attention. The more people who lend a hand, the bigger impact we can make!So what are you waiting for? Look for volunteer opportunities in your community and sign up today! Lift some boxes, meet some new people, and do some good for the world. Trust me, it's one of the most rewarding experiences you'll ever have. Just don't forget to bring a sturdy pair of shoes - those cans get heavy!。

An increasing number of cases are being reported every day. It’s thought that H1N1 flu spreads in the same way that regular seasonal influenza viruses do, that is, spreading from person-to-person, mainly through the coughs and sneezes of people who are sick with the virus. Faced with this severe disease, here are some everyday measures we should take to stay healthy. First, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way. If you get sick, stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them. Finally, H1N1 flu is not a terribly deadly disease, which is curable. So, don’t be nervous and just keep calm as usual. 正如我们所知,不断爆发的H1N1流感已经在许多国家引发了。

志愿者活动英语作文,原文加译文英文回答:Volunteering has always been a big part of my life. I believe that giving back to the community is not only a way to help others, but also a way to grow as a person. One of the most memorable volunteer activities I participated in was a beach clean-up event.I remember waking up early on a Saturday morning, grabbing my gloves and trash bags, and heading to the beach with a group of other volunteers. As we walked along the shore, picking up trash and debris, I couldn't help butfeel a sense of satisfaction knowing that our efforts were making a difference. It was hard work, but seeing the beach transform from a littered mess to a clean and pristine environment was incredibly rewarding. Not only did I enjoy the physical aspect of volunteering, but I also appreciated the sense ofcamaraderie that came with working alongside like-minded individuals. We shared stories, laughed together, and bonded over our shared goal of making a positive impact on the environment.Through volunteering, I have learned the importance of giving back and the power of community involvement. It has taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, leadership, and the impact that even small actions can have on the world around us. I continue to seek out volunteer opportunities whenever I can, knowing that each time I give back, I am not only helping others, but also helping myself grow and develop as a person.中文回答:志愿活动一直是我生活中的重要组成部分。

写一篇有关参加志愿者活动经历的英语作文
写一篇有关参加志愿者活动经历的英语作文全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Super Fun Time Being a Volunteer!Hi there! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. I just had the coolest experience being a volunteer and I can't wait to tell you all about it!A few weeks ago, my mom asked me if I wanted to volunteer at the animal shelter for a day during my spring break from school. At first I wasn't sure, because I thought volunteering meant doing a bunch of boring chores or something. But then she said I could help take care of cats and dogs, and I got really excited! I love animals so much.On the morning we were supposed to go, I woke up super early because I was so eager to get started. I put on my favorite t-shirt with a puppy on it and my lucky shoes that kind of look like paw prints. I gulped down a huge bowl of my favorite cereal and slurped up the milk at the end. Yum!When we got to the animal shelter, there were so many cats and dogs everywhere! The shelter helper lady named Jessicashowed us around. She said her job was to take care of all the animals until they could find forever homes. I felt bad for the animals having to live there instead of in a real house, but Jessica said she makes sure they have everything they need and get plenty of love and playtime.First up, Jessica asked if I wanted to help feed the dogs their breakfast. You bet I did! She handed me this big bag of dry dog food and showed me how to scoop it into the metal bowls in each doggy den. Some of the dogs were jumping up and down, really excited for their food. A couple weren't interested and just looked at me like "Yeah...so?" But most were doggy dancing in circles waiting for me to bring them their chow. I felt like a very important person! After the dogs all had full bellies, Jessica brought me over to the cat room. The room was kind of small but had so many cubbies and climbing things for the kitties to explore. She let me put out their food and water. I had to be careful because as soon as they heard the cat food bags crinkle, they came zipping around the corner, meowing up a storm! I just laughed and laughed at their silly faces.Next up was playtime for the doggies. Jessica took me outside to this big fenced-in yard and let a few dogs out at atime to run around off their leashes. She showed me how to throw these really cool bendy toys that the dogs loved chasing after. I'm a pretty good frisbee thrower from playing in the park with my dad, so the dogs seemed to be having a blast catching the toys in mid-air. Their faces looked so happy and their tongues were hanging out from running around so much. A couple times I got a little scared when a couple big dogs came barreling toward me, but Jessica distracted them by throwing another toy in the other direction. After the dogs did their zoomies for a while, Jessica put them back in their dens and brought me over to the kitty room again. This time she got out these long wiggly strings with feathers on the end and let me use them to play with the cats through the enclosure holes. Man, those cats went NUTS trying to catch the feather wands! They'd jump super high and bat at them with their paws, then get all worried when the feathers disappeared around the corner. I had to make sure to keep the wands moving so they'd stay interested and engaged. This grey kitty named Smokey even reached out and swiped my arm a couple times - his claws were trimmed though so it didn't hurt. I couldn't stop giggling at him!Around lunchtime, Jessica heated up some wet food for the cats and dogs. It didn't smell too great, but she said the animals love it. While she was doing that, another volunteer was giving baths to some of the dogs who had gotten a little stinky or dirty.I watched for a little while and felt bad for those pups having to take a bath when they clearly didn't want to! Getting my cat Sprinkles into the bathtub at home is hard enough. After the morning chores and playtimes were done, Jessica said I could help her do the litter box rounds. This was definitely the least fun part of the day - lugging those heavy litter buckets around and scooping out all those smelly deposits was pretty gross. But Jessica showed me the neat litter genie machine that compressed the waste down into tight packages so the smell didn't spread as much. I tried not to breathe through my nose too deeply during this chore! While Jessica finished up some paperwork, she told me I had done such an awesome job that I could have some free time to go sit with any cats or dogs I wanted. I spent a long time just hanging out in the kennels, giving gentle pets to all the sweet pups who looked a little sad. A couple came right up and gave me sloppy doggy kisses, which made me laugh out loud. Whocares about dog breath when you're getting smothered in love and appreciation from such an innocent animal?Over in the cat room, I found this orange tabby sleeping in a little bed in the corner. He was so cute and peaceful that I didn't want to bother him. But I sat near his cubby and soon he woke up, stretched, and saw me. Instead of being scared, he hopped right into my lap and started purring and bumping his head against my chin, wanting me to pet him. We stayed just like that for a good thirty minutes, me brushing his soft fur while he vibrated with those loud rumbly purrs. I didn't want to stop, but eventually Jessica came to get me because it was time to go.I gave the tabby one last cuddle and headed out, feeling so happy and accomplished. On the drive home, I told my mom all about the amazing cats and dogs I got to take care of that day. She seemed really impressed and proud of me for working so diligently as a volunteer. I also felt proud of myself!Spending the day at the animal shelter made me realize how much time, hard work, and care the staff and volunteers have to put in. There are a lot of animals who need food, water, exercise, and love every day until their forever families come to take them home. I'm so grateful there are places like shelters that take suchgood care of pets while they wait. I definitely want to go back and volunteer again sometime very soon!Volunteering was much more fun than I expected - except for the litter box part maybe. But overall, it made me feel really good to help out and interact with all those sweet furry friends. If you ever get the chance to volunteer somewhere, especially if it involves animals, I think you totally should! It's a great way to learn new things, help others, and have new experiences. Who knows, maybe I'll grow up to be a veterinarian or work at an animal shelter when I'm older. For now though, I'm just glad I got to experience a day in the life as an animal shelter volunteer. It's a memory I'll never forget!篇2My Awesome Volunteer ExperienceHi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I recently had the coolest experience as a volunteer and I want to tell you all about it!It all started a few months ago when my teacher, Mrs. Johnson, told our class about an opportunity to volunteer at the local animal shelter for a few Saturdays. She said we'd be helping to take care of dogs and cats that didn't have homes by feedingthem, playing with them, and cleaning their areas. I loved the idea right away because I'm totally an animal lover! When I got home that day, I begged my mom to let me sign up. She knows how much I adore furry critters. At first she was a little worried because she thought I might be too young, but Mrs. Johnson convinced her it would be okay if I had an adult volunteer supervise me. My mom finally said yes, and I was sooooo excited! The first Saturday I went to the shelter, I has to admit I was a teeny bit nervous. I had never volunteered before and I didn't know exactly what to expect. But as soon as I walked through the doors and heard all the barks and meows, my smile stretched from ear to ear. The sounds and smells just felt like home to me!The lady in charge, who everyone called Miss Kate, was super nice. She showed me and the other kid volunteers around and explained what we'd be doing. First up was feeding time for the dogs. We got to scoop dry food into big metal bowls and then brought them into the dog kennels. Watching those hungry pups gobble it all down was really cute! A few of them even licked my hands after, which made me giggle.Next was the kitty room, which is exactly what it sounds like – a room full of cats! They had climbing towers, toys, beds, andeverything a cat could want. Our job was to freshen up their litter boxes and give them clean water. I'll be honest, scooping litter wasn't my favorite, but it felt good to make their space nice and tidy. After that, the best part of the whole day started – playtime! We got to go into the dog kennels one-by-one and just hang out with the pooches. I took a bouncy ball in with me and we played fetch up and down the aisle. Those dogs looked so happy to have some human interaction and exercise. A couple even gave me sloppy kisses, which didn't bother me one bit! I love doggy kisses. For the kitties, Miss Kate gave us long wands with feathers and toys on the end. We got to drag those around and watch the cats go bonkers trying to catch them. It was hilarious how quickly they pounced and batted at the dangling objects. I even got a little scratch on my hand from an overexcited kitty, but it didn't hurt much. All part of playing with cats!By the time my first volunteer shift ended, I could barely keep my eyes open from playing so hard. I was exhausted in the best way possible! On the drive home, my mom asked what I thought of volunteering at the shelter. With a huge grin, I toldher it was quite possibly the most fun I've ever had. I couldn't wait to go back the next Saturday!Over the next couple of months, I volunteered at the shelter four more times. I got to know all the animals pretty well, at least the ones that were there more long-term. A few times, families came in to adopt while I was there, which was bittersweet. I felt sad saying goodbye to those lucky dogs and cats, but I was so happy they had found their forever homes. That's the whole reason I was volunteering after all – to help these sweeties find loving families. My very last volunteer day was definitely the hardest. I had to say goodbye to Miss Kate, the other volunteers, and most of all, the animals. By then, I knew all their names, personalities, and favorite treats. Leaving that kitty room for the last time made me cry a little. But I also felt proud because I knew I had done something good, something that mattered. For two whole months, I made a difference for those homeless pets just by giving them some of my time and energy. Now when people ask what I want to be when I grow up, I always say I either want to be a veterinarian so I can take care of animals, or I want to work at an animal shelter full-time. Volunteering at such a young age helped me realize just howmuch I love furry critters and how good it feels to help them. It's hard work, but totally worth it to see their happy, friendly faces. So if you ever get the chance to volunteer, especially if it involves animals, I say go for it! You might just find your calling in life. Or at the very least, you'll have a ton of fun and know that you made the world a little bit better, one dog or cat at a time. Get out there and volunteer, kids – you'll be awesome at it! I know I was.篇3My Super Cool Volunteering AdventureHey guys! I'm going to tell you all about the awesome time I had volunteering. It was so much fun and I got to help a bunch of people. I'm so excited to share my story with you!A few months ago, my teacher Ms. Johnson told our class that we could sign up to volunteer at a center that helps people who don't have homes or enough food. I had never done any volunteering before, but it sounded really interesting. A lot of my friends also wanted to sign up, so we decided to do it together as a group. On the day we were supposed to volunteer, we all met at the school bright and early. I was feeling a little nervous because Ididn't know what to expect, but I was also really excited too. We got on a bus and rode for about 20 minutes to get to the volunteering center. When we arrived, there was a nice lady named Maria who worked there. She welcomed us and explained that we would be helping to prepare food packages to give out to people in need. We all got hairnets and aprons to wear. I felt like a real chef!Maria showed us to the kitchen area where there were tons of boxes and bags filled with all kinds of food - canned vegetables, pasta, rice, juice boxes, you name it. Our job was to sort through everything, check the expiration dates, and put together bags with nutritious meals that could feed a few people. At first, I was a little overwhelmed by how much stuff there was everywhere. But Maria had us split into small teams, and soon we all got into a groove sorting and packing the food. It was kind of like a fun game seeing who could pack the most bags the fastest while still being neat and checking everything carefully. We took turns doing different jobs. Sometimes I was unpacking boxes and sorting the cans. Other times I was putting things into the bags or double checking them before sealingthem up. We had a little assembly line going that worked really well.My favorite part was decorating the kids' bags. For some of the packages, we included little toys, coloring books, and other fun surprises for children. I drew smiley faces and wrote encouraging messages with markers on the bags. I really hoped the kids who received them would be cheered up!We worked super hard for a few hours packing up all the food. When it was finally time for a break, I was super sweaty but also really proud of everything we had accomplished. We all sat down and Maria brought us slices of pizza for lunch - yum! After we ate, Maria told us more about the volunteering center and all the people they help. I had no idea that so many families around us struggled to have enough nutritious food. It was so sad to think about kids going hungry. I felt lucky that my family always has food on the table, and I was really glad we could put together food packages for people in need.Maria said the food packages we prepared would go directly to local shelters, food pantries, and families who didn't have enough money or access to affordable groceries. Some would even be handed out to people living on the streets. HearingMaria explain how much our work would help motivated me to work even harder in the afternoon! When we headed back to pack more food, we stayed focused but also had a lot of silly fun together. We told jokes, sang songs, and danced around a little bit while we worked. Even though it was hard work, we didn't even really notice because we were laughing so much. Finally, after packing up what seemed like a million bags, we were all done! We broke out in cheers and high-fived each other. Maria said we had put together over 500 meal packages - wow! She thanked us for our hard work and said the food would provide so much help for struggling people in our community. On the bus ride back to school, I felt tired but accomplished. It had been a long day, but it was one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences of my life so far. I couldn't wait to go home and tell my parents and little brother all about it.From that day on, I was totally hooked on volunteering. Whenever there was an opportunity to sign up and lend a hand, I did it! I helped out at animal shelters, parks clean-ups, book drives, you name it. Giving back always gave me the warmest, happiest feeling inside. My friends and I also started collecting canned goods and raising money at school to donate to the food bank where we had volunteered. We did bake sales, started a recycling program, and came up with all kinds of creative ideas to chip in. It felt amazing to give what we could to help others.I really think that first volunteering experience changed me for the better. It opened my eyes to how many people out there need help and don't have some of the advantages I'm lucky enough to have. More importantly, it showed me that even as a kid, I could do something to make a positive difference.Volunteering is seriously the best! You get to work alongside awesome people towards a good cause. You learn new skills and get to step outside of your normal routine. But most of all, you get that feeling of giving back that is transformative and addictive in the best way possible.I'm so grateful my teacher told us about that volunteering opportunity. If she hadn't, I might have missed out on discovering one of my biggest passions in life so far. Now, helping others and volunteering my time is just something I plan to continue for years and years to come.So what are you waiting for? Get out there and get volunteering, you guys! Find a cause that speaks to you and lenda hand. You'll be amazed by how much fun you can have while also doing good for your community. Who knows - you might just get hooked on volunteering like me!篇4My Experience Being a VolunteerHi everyone! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. TodayI want to tell you all about the time I was a volunteer. It was sucha cool experience! It all started last summer when my mom told me that a local animal shelter needed some helpers. She said they take in stray dogs and cats and need people to play with them, feed them, and clean up after them until the animals can find forever homes.I love animals so much, so I got really excited! My mom called the shelter and signed me up to volunteer once a week on Saturdays. The first time I went, I was a little nervous. The shelter seemed like a big, echoey place with lots of barking and meowing. But the ladies working there were super nice. They showed me around and taught me what to do.My main jobs were walking the dogs, brushing them, and filling up their food and water bowls. I also got to spend time in the cat room, petting the kitties and playing with yarn toys tokeep them active. The hardest part was cleaning out the kennels and litter boxes - it was pretty stinky work! But it had to be done to keep everything clean and the animals healthy. After a few weeks, I started to really look forward to my Saturday volunteer shifts. All the dogs and cats were so cute and fun to be around. They were always really excited when I came in and would jump up trying to lick my face! I got to know their different personalities too. Some were shy at first but ended up being super cuddly and loving. Others were total goofballs who loved to play fetch and chase after toys.My favorite dog was a big black lab mix named Buddy. He was really energetic and would get so excited every time I took him for a walk around the outdoor trails behind the shelter. We'd run together and he'd playfully jump up trying to steal the leash from me. When we got back inside, he'd roll onto his back for belly rubs. What a ham!My favorite cat was an orange tabby named Garfield. He loved lounging in the windowsills and soaking up the sun. Whenever I came into the cat room, he'd roll onto his back expecting me to rub his tummy. He'd let out the loudest purrs and make me laugh with how relaxed and content he looked.I got to see a lot of the dogs and cats go to new homes while I was volunteering, which was really cool but also kind of sad. I'd miss playing with them every week. But I knew they were lucky to be adopted into loving families. The shelter staff said volunteers like me helping to take care of the animals helped them adapt better and be ready for their forever homes. The best day was when Buddy found his new family. A nice couple came in looking for an energetic dog to take on hikes. Buddy was the perfect match! I got to take him out one last time on the trails. We ran together and I gave him millions of belly rubs as a goodbye. I was sad to see him leave, but so happy he had a new family to love him.Volunteering at the animal shelter was such a rewarding experience. Yeah, some of the work was kind of gross and smelly. But getting to spend time with all those amazing dogs and cats made it so worth it. I made some new furry friends and hopefully made their lives a little bit better while they were waiting to find permanent homes. If you're an animal lover like me, I totally recommend looking for a way to volunteer with pets in your area. It will definitely make you appreciate how loving and fun ourfour-legged friends can be. Just be ready for some seriouslysloppy good-morning kisses from the dogs! I can't wait until I'm old enough to get a pet of my own. This experience showed me how much love and care they need. But I'm up for the job!Well, thanks for listening to my story! I've got to run, but paws for thought - maybe YOU could volunteer at an animal shelter too? The furry residents would be so lucky to have you as a friend! Woof woof and meow meow!篇5My Big Day as a VolunteerHi everyone! My name is Timmy and I'm 9 years old. I want to tell you all about the really cool volunteer thing I did last weekend. It was so much fun and I felt really proud of myself after! It all started a few weeks ago when my teacher, Mrs. Johnson, told our class that we would be doing a volunteer project to help out at a local animal shelter. She said volunteering is when you choose to do work for free to help other people or animals or your community. I had never done any volunteering before, but I really love animals so I was super excited!Mrs. Johnson split us up into groups and gave each group a different job to do at the shelter. My group's job was to helpclean out the dog kennels and play with the dogs. The other groups had jobs like feeding the cats, giving baths to the puppies, or organizing donated pet supplies. I couldn't wait for our field trip day to finally come!On Saturday morning, my mom drove me and three other kids from my group to the animal shelter. When we got there, a nice lady named Jessica who worked at the shelter gathered us all together. She told us the shelter took in stray or abandoned dogs and cats and other pets and cared for them until a new family adopted them and gave them a forever home. Jessica said they were really short on volunteers to help with cleaning and playing with the animals that day, so she was very happy we were there to help out.First, Jessica showed us how to properly clean out the dog kennels. We had to scoop out all the old bedding and mess and throw it away. Then we sprayed the kennel with a pet-safe disinfectant and wiped everything down really well with clean rags and paper towels. After that was all clean, we put fresh bedding and blankets down for the dog. It was kind of smelly and gross work, but I didn't mind since I knew it was helping make a cleaner, comfier place for the homeless doggies.Once all the kennels were cleaned out, it was finally playtime! Jessica brought out different dogs one by one and let us take them to a fenced-in yard area. We got to play fetch with them, pet them, brush them, and give them treats and cuddles. The dogs were all so sweet and happy to get attention and exercize. My favorite was an older golden retriever named Bailey who loved playing fetch and got so excited every time I threw her tennis ball. I also liked cuddling up with a big fluffy dog named Beau who was very mellow and just wanted belly rubs. After a couple hours of play time, we got a break to eat lunch. My mom had packed me a sandwich, an apple, and a juice box which I ate out in the shelter's backyard area while the dogs played. Then it was back to work cleaning more kennels in the afternoon. By the end of the day, I was tired but felt really accomplished that our group had cleaned every single dog kennel at the shelter! On the drive home, I couldn't stop talking to my mom about all the cool dogs I got to play with. I told her how happy I was that I got to help make their lives a little bit better while they waited to find their forever families. Volunteering at the animal shelter was definitely hard work, but it was also a lot of fun. I felt so proud knowing that I did an important job to help out.In the weeks after, I kept bugging my mom about when I could go back and volunteer at the shelter again. Cleaning out kennels and doing that kind of dirty work may not seem like a fun time to most kids. But I liked feeling like I was doing something good to take care of those sweet dogs and give them love and attention for a day. I really hope I can continue volunteering and giving my time to help more animals or other causes that are important to me as I get older. That's the story of my first big volunteer experience! Have any of you ever done any volunteering before? I think more kids should do it - you feel so good about yourself after and you're actually helping make a difference in your community. If you love dogs or cats as much as me, I'd definitely recommend volunteering at an animal shelter. Just be prepared to get a little slobbery doggy kisses and let your mom know you might be coming home smelling like wet dog!。

In modern societies, it is increasingly popular that young people volunteer on weekendsin the local community service center to help the people in need. If all the youngsters do it ina regular way, the benefits are obvious to both the community and these young adults although there are some minor drawbacks as well.It can be argued that the advantages of doing unpaid community service are enormous. Indeed, when an old person feels sick, the volunteers could offer first aid before the doctor or the ambulance arrives. Likewise, if a disabled person has difficulty doing some daily activities such as shopping, the assistance from young volunteers is indispensable. Moreover, as far as the young people are concerned, they could develop the sense of responsibility, independence as well as interpersonal skills in the process of helping others in the neighborhood. In this way, people may live in harmony in the community.Nevertheless, the downsides of volunteer community service are worth mentioning. In fact, in the city likeShanghai, an increasing number of graduates find it harder to make aliving on their own. Thus, if all of the young adults are required to do full-time unpaid job in a fixed period, some of them would have no income source, which is unrealistic to these youngsters. In addition, it is believed that community service could possibly take up their time of acquiring knowledge.Be a university student, I will keep it in my heart that Im a volunteer and fill myself with a strong will of devotion and wont do anything unable to match my designation. We’re writing this letter to recruit volunteers on summer vocation. And we do hope more students are willing to join us and enjoy this activity joyfully during the following month. It is necessary for us to show our plans and arrangements to you. Our plan is to set off next weekend, when the summer vacation officially begins. And, our purpose is to service the Olympic Games. The first stop is Nanjing, the world-renowned city for its beauty and mildte mperature. We’ll get there by train and stay there for 2 days, and then we’ll head for Shanghai. After a 3-day stay there, we will give the coaches there a hand so that the game can be held smoothly. As everybody knows, Shanghai is the busiest city in this game, where wewill undertake a lot of work, so the stay there will be about half a week. All together, our trip will last about three weeks.Only these who have passed CET-4 and have kind-heart can apply for membership of the volunteers. If anybody are interested inthis activties, please contact with the students union of our university.Weare sincerely welcome yours and just take action. We are middle school students and we are busy with our lessons. So some people think we should concentrate more on our studies. If we volunteer to help others, it’s a waste of time. But I think volunteering is great.我们是中学生,我们都忙于功课。

In recent years, the volunteering spirit has spread among the Chinese people, especially among youngsters. According to a survey, in 2008, there were about 1,700,000 volunteers who offered service for Olympic Games. Actually, an increasing number of people become volunteers every year in China.
V olunteering is of tremendous benefits to both those in need and the society. Olympic Games are a good example. As is known to all, volunteers played an active role in Beijing Olympic Games. Without them, it would be a tough task to hold this un-precedent Olympic Games. Therefore, we can say that it was those volunteers who ensured the success of these games.
As modern college students, we should get actively involved in volunteering actions. By participating, we can learn how to work well in a team, how to improve our interpersonal skills and organizational ability. Undoubtedly, all of these are critical for our person growth.
