The Little Prince is a timeless story that holds a special place in the hearts of readers of all ages. Written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, this novella explores themes of love, friendship, loneliness, and the nature of human relationships. The story follows a young prince who travels from planet to planet in search of understanding and meaning in life. As he encounters various adults who have lost touch with their inner child, he learns valuable lessons about the importance of innocence, imagination, and connection.《小王子》是一部永恒的故事,深受各个年龄段读者的喜爱。
The Little Prince is not just a children's story, but a philosophicalwork that delves into deeper meanings of life and existence. Through the interactions between the Little Prince and characters like the Fox and the Rose, readers are encouraged to reflect on their own valuesand priorities. The story presents a contrast between the materialistic world of adults and the simple, pure perspective of the Little Prince. This juxtaposition forces readers to reconsider what truly matters in life and what it means to live authentically.《小王子》不仅仅是一部儿童故事,而是一部深入探讨生活和存在意义的哲学作品。

Billed as 'family entertainment,' these films probably won't provide any cathartic moments; on the other hand, you can usually take the children and be reasonably amused-The Rugrats Movie is a good example. However, when the animated musical meanders into the murky waters of what some regard as religious mythology, and what others consider the origin of their religious identity, it reaches the outer realm of its credibility. Witness DreamWorks' second animated feature release, The Prince of Egypt, which traces the life of Moses up to the time of the Exodus (the journey of the Hebrews from Egypt). Whether or not Moses and Aaron actually lived, and whether in fact the Jews existed in large numbers in Egypt at the time of Rameses II-both the topic of historical debate-is perhaps beside the point. The Exodus marked the beginning of Judaism as an organized religion, and it was the birth of monotheism or, in Western history, the shift from the Ancient to the Modern world. Myth or reality, Moses' life is entrenched in the canon of so many disciplines-including psychology and philosophy-that perhaps he's a reasonable subject for all sorts of storytelling. Despite its masterful animation, and a glib version of Old Testament (a Christian designation) events, The Prince of Egypt leaves you feeling like you've witnessed something that misses the mark. It begins with the popular story of how Moses was set adrift in a reed basket to be found by an Egyptian queen. Unlike its Biblical equivalent, in this version Moses doesn't learn he's a Hebrew until he's an adult. By then, it's difficult for him to break his familial tie to Rameses, his 'brother' and the future Pharaoh, until he mistakenly kills an Egyptian foreman. The foreman is beating a Hebrew slave laboring in a new temple. In the Bible, Moses' act is a crime of passion that sends him into a period of wandering and contemplation. Here, it's fear that compels him to leave his palace home-hardly the stuff of great drama. But who wants drama? This is supposed to be family entertainment, isn't it?An army of animators, a costume designer and some new technology that allows animators to combine 2D and 3D elements in a scene really do differentiate The Prince of Egypt-the crane shot of an Egyptian temple at the beginning of the film is one example of what the new technology, invented by DreamWorks and Silicon Graphics, can achieve. Animators also created new techniques which allow crowd scenes to look far more realistic than they have in other animated films. Spectacular scenes like the Passover, the dream sequence in which hieroglyphics become animated, and the parting of the waters, combine to make The Prince of Egypt a memorable visual experience. While the songs don't qualify as toe-tapping melodies, they're often cleverly used toadvance the plot, as they are in the Passover sequence. (Listen for Michelle Pfeiffer as Tzipporah, and Ralph Fiennes as Rameses-the only actors who sing their own songs.)DreamWorks is banking on adults buying movie tickets for animated features. While The Prince of Egypt can boast 'adult themes'-racism, revenge, sibling disputes and divine intervention-what it doesn't have is the ability to involve adults emotionally. It's rare to feel anything for an animated character. Parents may perceive the film as an opportunity to introduce children to Biblical themes, but children are likely to become bored by a story about adults, and young children could be disturbed by brief, but nonetheless disturbing, events such as the death of the first-borns or the bloodying of the waters. Richard Schickel's concluding sentence in a 1966 review of The Bible-'Read the book'-is worth mentioning here: The themes inherent in the story of Moses, for the religious and for the non-religious, have been the subject of so much scholarly debate in so many disciplines that to make it the inspiration for an animated musical is, in some ways, to do the story a disservice. Recounting the life of Moses in a visual medium by simply focusing on the events of his life is to greatly misunderstand his accomplishment. When God handed Moses the Ten Commandments, he demanded that the Hebrews avoid graven images of him and of nature. God was delivering the Hebrews from idolatry, from the empty worship of physical objects, opening up the possibility of imagination, psychic awareness, and the modern idea of an interior life. In an ironic twist too glaring to ignore, in The Prince of Egypt the picture is all.。

Everyone must be familiar with de Mille's 1956 sound version, which plays regularly on television. Now here is "The Prince of Egypt," an animated version based on the same legends. What it proves above all is that animation frees the imagination from the shackles of gravity and reality, and allows a story to soar as it will. If de Mille had seen this film, he would have gone back to the drawing board. The story of Exodus has its parallels in many religions, always with the same result: God chooses one of his peoples over the others. We like these stories because in the one we subscribe to, we are the chosen people. I have always rather thought God could have spared man a lot of trouble by casting his net more widely, emphasizing universality rather than tribalism, but there you have it. Moses gives Rameses his chance (free our people and accept our God) and Rameses blows it, with dire results for the Egyptian side."The Prince of Egypt" is one of the best-looking animated films ever made. It employs computer-generated animation as an aid to traditional techniques, rather than as a substitute for them, and we sense the touch of human artists in the vision behind the Egyptian monuments, the lonely desert vistas, the thrill of the chariot race, the personalities of the characters. This is a film that shows animation growing up and embracing more complex themes, instead of chaining itself in the category of children's entertainment. That's established dramatically in the wonderful prologue scenes, which show the kingdom and Hebrew slaves building pyramids under the whips of the Pharaoh's taskmasters. The "sets" here are inspired by some of the great movie sets of the past, including those in de Mille's original film and D.W. Griffith's "Intolerance." A vast Sphinx gazes out over the desert, and slaves bend to the weight of mighty blocks of stone. In crowd scenes, both here and when the Hebrews pass through the Red Sea, the movie uses new computer techniques to give the illusion that each of the countless tiny figures is moving separately; that makes the "extras" uncannily convincing. The film follows Moses (voice of Val Kilmer) from the day when he is plucked from the Nile by the queen (Helen Mirren) to the day when he returns from the mountain with the Ten Commandments. What it emphasizes more than earlier versions is how completely the orphan child is taken into the family of the Pharaoh (Patrick Stewart); he is a well-loved adopted son who becomes the playmate and best friend of Rameses (Ralph Fiennes), the Pharaoh's son. As boys, they get in trouble together (one drag race in chariots, which speed excitingly down collapsing scaffolds, results in the destruction of a temple). And when Rameses is named regent, his first actis to name Moses as royal chief architect. But something within Moses knows that the Egyptians are not his people. After he happens to meet his real brother and sister, Aaron (Jeff Goldblum) and Miriam (Sandra Bullock), and learns the truth about his heritage, he runs away into the desert. At an oasis, Moses encounters a former slave girl, whom he had helped to escape from the Pharoah's empire, and who is the daughter of the Hebrew high priest Jethro (Danny Glover). While staying with them, Moses hears the voice from the Burning Bush: "I am that I am, the God of your fathers." For Moses, accepting this god means renouncing untold power and riches, and Rameses (now the Pharaoh) is first incredulous, then angered. "I am a Hebrew," Moses sternly informs him, "and the God of the Hebrews came to me and commands that you let my people go." When Rameses disagrees (and doubles the slaves' workload), God unleashes a series of punishments. Fire rains from the sky, locusts descend in clouds, and all the first-born are killed. All leads up to the spectacular parting of the Red Sea, an event made for animation; unlike de Mille's oddly unconvincing vertical walls of water, the parting here has an almost physical plausibility; we can see how the water parts and where it goes. The movie is not shy about being entertaining, but it maintains a certain seriousness. In place of the usual twosomes and threesomes of little characters doing comic relief, we get two temple magicians (voices of Steve Martin and Martin Short), and a duet ("Playing With the Big Boys"). Moses turns his staff into a snake to impress Rameses, and magicians show how the trick has been done. It's not that easy to explain the fire and the locusts. The more movies I see, the more grateful I am for new films that go to the trouble of creating astonishing new images. One of the reasons I was so enthusiastic, earlier in 1998, about "Dark City," "What Dreams May Come" and "Babe: Pig in the City" is that they showed me sights I had never imagined before, while most movies were showing me actors talking to one another. (Those who found "Dreams" cornball were correct, but they missed the point.) "The Prince of Egypt" is the same kind of film (as were, on quite a different scale, "A Bug's Life" and "Antz"). It addresses a different place in the moviegoer's mind, one where vision, imagination and dream are just barely held in rein by the story. One imagines de Mille had a film like this in his mind, before he had to reduce it to reality.。
去年凭借《爱乐之城》拿下奥斯卡的Benji Pasek和Justin Paul,今年再次凭片中一首《This is me》提名。

The Prince of Egypt neither skims over nor dwells upon the least happy elements of the story. Overall, it's a story of triumph and adventure - of oppression ended and freedom begun. The comedy elements that have become an integral part of animated features are downplayed. The Pharaoh's two chief priests are sly and fatuous, and some of their antics are amusing, but they offer little more than occasional, momentary comic relief. For the most part, The Prince of Egypt plays it straight. As for the other "necessary" aspect of the successful animated feature - the musical numbers - The Prince of Egypt features about a half-dozen. And, while none are as memorable as those from the early entries intoDisney's recent wave, they fold nicely into the story. The animation in The Prince of Egypt is truly top-notch, and is easily a match for anything Disney has turned out in the last decade. The artists effectively mix hand-drawn and computer-generated images to good effect, the colors are rich and vibrant, and the characters' lip movements are in synch with the soundtrack. The final product is polished, with a number of standout sequences (the chariot race, the plagues, and the parting of the Red Sea). While last year's Anastasia managed to come close to Disney's visual elegance, The Prince of Egypt matches it. This impressive achievement uncovers yet another chink in Disney's once-impregnable animation armor. As far as vocal talents are concerned, the film makers have gathered an impressive cast, with even the minor characters being voiced by recognizable names. The plum roles of Moses and Ramses, the leader of the captive Hebrews and the King of Egypt, belong to Val Kilmer and Ralph Fiennes, respectively. Michelle Pfeiffer supplies the voice of Moses' wife, Zipporah; Sandra Bullock is his sister, the prophetess Miriam; Jeff Goldblum is his brother, Aaron; and Danny Glover is his father-in-law, Jethro. Other voices include Patrick Stewart and Helen Mirren as Ramses' parents, and the team of Martin Short and SteveMartin as the foolish Egyptian priests.Jeffrey Katzenberg (the former Disney honcho who is the "K" in "Dreamworks SKG") has gone out of his way to emphasize that The Prince of Egypt is not a religious movie, despite the nature of the source material. This is not intended to be a big budget BibleStory cartoon, but a rousing animated adventure. However, even without resistance from religious groups, The Prince of Egypt still faces a significant obstacle: the large number of family-oriented features clogging the theaters this holiday season. Nevertheless, even in a field that includes A Bug's Life, Babe: Pig in the City, The Rugrats Movie, and Mighty Joe Young, this movie is worth a trip to the local multiplex by viewers of all ages, races, andreligious persuasions.Taken from the Old Testament, here’s a film that’s a testimony to the serious art of animated film making. "The Prince of Egypt" may be animated, but it’s certainly no cartoon. It’s a Biblical epic, along the lines of "Ben Hur" and "The Greatest Story Ever Told," that’s a serious ret elling of the story of Moses based onthe Book of Exodus. The story centers on Moses, who was adopted by the Queenwhen he was an infant; and his brother Rameses. Ramesesand Moses are the best of friends, although Rameses oftencomplains that Moses is the real troublemaker whenRameses receives the blame. When Moses happens to meet Miriam, his sister,he first hears about his real Hebrew heritage and family. And the disbelieving young man cannot believethat he,a prince of Egypt, had such origins. When he leaves his brother and royal family behind,Mosesbegins the simple life of a shepherd. Along the way hemeets the spirited Zipporah, who encourages him in hismission to free his people from slavery. This is high-quality material all the way through, from the mind-bending animation to the story line to the wonderful soundtrack that includes gorgeous ballads, lullabies and songs of celebration. Oscar winners Hans Zimmer ("The Lion King") and Stephen Schwartz ("Pocahontas") wrote the six original songs that include "Deliver Us," sung by the Hebrew slaves, along with the beautiful "When You Believe" that’s bound for hit-dom by WhitneyHouston and Mariah Carey. Not surprisingly, the Dream Works animation, which contains computer-generated effects,is outstanding. Especially memorable is a fantasy sequence in which hieroglyphics act out a past that Moses doesn’t want to believe or face. And the parting of the Red Sea is simply majestic to behold. In keeping with a season that emphasizes faith, this is a thoughtful, earnest show that’s well wrought and well timed. Before I watched this movie, I was very impressed with the trailer for the film. It did an amazing job of hyping the film up to be a Lord of the Rings style epic with battles bigger then the world has ever seen. Now, I like my battles, and as far as I am concerned, the bigger the better, so this movie definitely appealed to me.Then I headed out to see this movie on opening night....After it was all said and done, I sat down to write this review, and I had a very hard time with it. I did not like this movie at all, but yet I had a hard time expressing my distaste properly. This was mostly a result of a couple of difficulties I had. First, I expected an ENTIRELY different movie then what Troy actually provided and second, I had several friends that basically thought the film was the second coming of Christ, which was not the opinion I had at all.I basically decided that this movie deserved a second viewing before I actually sat down to put my thoughts into words...So once again I found myself heading to see Troy....This time, after the smoke cleared, I definitely found that I enjoyed the movie a lot more. I think the reason for that is that my expectations were no longer skewed, and I actually sat back and tried to enjoy the film rather then pick out what I didn't like. It didn't quite elevate me to the coming of Christ level but the second viewing was definitely the key for the final review that this movie gets from me.Troy is a movie loosely based on the centuries old battle of Troy. Greeks vs. the Trojans. Where as the actual battle is said to have lasted 10 years, this movie foolishly attempts to wrap it up in a matter of weeks, and just seems forced. Basically, the story begins with the sons of Troy leaving with the wife of the Spartan King the morning after forging a pact of peace with him. This infuriates the King, who seeks the help of Agamemnon, the King of Kings who commands an army consisting of all the men of Greece to fight the Trojans. He takes that army to the door step of the Trojans, where the most epic battle of all time takes place...Fighting along side the Greeks, but in defiance of their King is Achilles (played by Brad Pitt), an ultimate warrior respected by the Greeks and feared by the Trojans. Leading the defense of Troy is Prince Hector (played by Eric Bana) who is looked upon as a god by his fellow Trojans, but whose common sense in battle is constantly overruled by the King of Troy who follows the "will of the gods".My biggest problem with this film is the over hype and then under-delivery, of the so-called Epic battles. Now, don't get me wrong, one battle in particular has more people in one place then I think have ever been portrayed in any other film. The scene where 50,000 Greeks (on film it looks like 50 million) come marching over the sand sounding like an earthquake is truly one of the best scenes of all time. Where each of the battles truly fails is that once they get going, they are halted in mere minutes. The longest battle of the film, when the Greeks march to Troy, doesn't last any more then 20 minutes, before the film is ground to a halt once again with nothing but dialog and naked Brad Pitt **** (and they show way, WAY, too much of that...). One fight specifically has thousands and thousands of soldiers battling it out, but they stop the battle not more then 5 minutes later, as the commanders of both armies decide that enough blood has been spilled. That may have been how things were done in the past, but it just seemed like a convenient reason to stop another over hyped battle before its time...The absolute best moment in this film, however, is the one on one battle between the greatest warrior of the Greeks (Achilles) and the greatest warrior of Troy (Prince Hector). This battle is beautifully filmed with close up, in your face action that makes you feel like the battle between the two warriors is actually occurring before you. Using everything but the kitchen sink to fight, this battle lasts easily longer then half the full on war battles, and is almost worth the price of admission all by itself. If they had just used more moments like those, this film definitely could have reached more of its potential. Ultimately, this movie just doesn't live up the hype. From the point where Achilles and Hector finish their battle, the movie pretty much loses everything else of interest in watching. The only battle remaining is that of the Greek soldiers sneaking from the Trojan horse, and murdering the Trojans in their sleep. Very anti-amazing to say the least!!! The final 20-30 minutes of this film is nothing but dead air, and adds absolutely nothing but completion to the story. It was dry, had too much dialog, and ended up being a horrendous way to end the film...All in all, this movie just didn't live up to the hype. It got a little better in a second viewing, but just didn't capitalize on all its potential. Maybe the next director to tackle this story can learn from the mistakes of this film, yet still capture everything that Troy does right...When they do; we are all in for a treat...The movie becomes more involving in the second half, if only because the battle scenes are pleasing to look at and astonishing in their scope. There is also a wonderful sceneeasily the most poignant in the filmwhere King Priam comes to enemy Achilles to p lead for the body of his son back. Veteranactor Peter O'Toole, who has not been recently given nearly enough dramatic work to do, easily delivers the best performance, bringing distinct levels of honor, regret, and pathos to King Priam when all the characters surrounding him don't seem to have three dimensions. The climax, in which Sparta fools its opponents and finds a way to get past the walls of Troy, is arresting and primal in a way that the other fighting sequences miss the boat on. The majority of "Troy" is simply plodding.By the end of "Troy," audiences are likely to react with indifference. What is on view diverts the viewer's attention, for the most part, but there is nobody to latch onto and care about, nor does what either side is fighting for seem worth it. Sparta merely seems to want to prove they are stronger than Troy, while Troy retaliates out of duty and for the concern of Helen. But why? Helen, as played by newcomer Diane Kruger, is a blank slate, a boring, pretty face without a personality or soul. "Troy" yearns to be an epic for the ages, something along the lines of 2000's "Gladiator," but it is more reminiscent of a cheesy Harlequin romance that just so happens to have lots of big battles and expensive effects.3What's most impressive about Wolfgang Petersen's Troy isn't its rousing super-battles, the grandiose scale of its sets or its expert cinematography. We know that Hollywood has the ability to pull off such large-scale trickery. And, after such successful epics as Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, such sights and sounds should come as no surprise, considering what is capable with today's moviemaking technology. What's most impressive about Troy is that it comes across as an effective and even insightful character study, even if it can never transcend the feeling that you're just watching a big, expensive magic trick. The screenplay by David Benioff does an excellent job in conjuring up atwo-and-a-half-hour Cliff Notes version of Homer's poem. Disposing of the gods as characters with active roles in the war, the script's story arc is only interested in key plot points, which does wonders in maintaining a consistent narrative pace. Benioff wrote the source novel and screenplay for Spike Lee's excellent 25th Hour, so it's appropriate that he would be more interested in the inner turmoil of a few key characters rather than staging battles that go on for 20 minutes. The most memorable scene in the film isn't a fight, but rather a quiet, desperate moment between Achilles and Trojan king Priam (PeterO'Toole). It's a meeting that probably never happened, but it goes a long way in developing the film's underlying themes of honor, respect and ultimately something of an anti-war message.。

Mud, Sand, Water, Straw, Faster …

The Prince of EgyptThe begining of the story gave me a great shock, I saw the slave was laced, scope and sound with very well. The teacher before it came to show and said:”The Prince of Egypt story originated form the bible.”And then she asked us a question,”The land of milk and honey”what does means.we all have no answer out.The movie began as soon as the play. The prince of Egypt this movie is probably said that In pharaoh (king) management of Egypt, because the Hebrew number jumped, pharaoh worry slaves will affect its rule, they ordered all the Hebrews newborn baby into the river hello crocodile. One of the Hebrew women gave birth to a son, for the son escape killing, and its into a wipe on stone paint rushes in the box, and then be reluctant to part from the box into the Nile in. The box has been left to the palace of the nearby river and it happened that the queen of Egypt in a small for a walk along the river found this box, she opened the box to see the beautiful boy, don't have the heart to the queen to abandon the baby, so she decided to recognize the baby as her own son, and give the child take the name Moses the prince of Egypt. Since then Moses and the prince ramses live together in the palace, no one here knows about Moses is Hebrew all thought of him as a queen's own son. When he grew up Moses because sister's tip and learned that his life, the Egyptian royal treat the slave cruel feel heartache, once he had killed miss a bully Hebrew the egyptians, and Moses fled to the land of midian to live. It wasn't long before the old pharaoh died, ramses ii enthronement became the new pharaoh Egypt. Moses thought ramses ii will let the Hebrews life to improve, but did not think of things have become more worse, built palaces, repair pyramid ramses ii everywhere enslave the Hebrews. At this time, the god of Israel, the Lord (god) appear, gave Moses strength let its led the Hebrews suffering from the egyptians under slavery come out, after some Hebrews after suffering by Moses liberation, arrived at a the land of milk and honey. The Prince of Egypt gave me a deep impression. It powerful sound effects and metamorphosis let me as it clap. It was amazing hype film is a Lord of the rings style epic struggle than the world has seen. As for the other "necessary" aspect of the successful animated feature - the musical numbers. And, while none are as memorable as those from the early entries into Disney's recent wave, they fold nicely into the story. Despite the bible background, ramses and Moses brother feeling let people shed tears. We can't blame ramses stubborn, that is he as pharaoh's responsibility, also cannot blame Moses clinging, it is his responsibility as a prophet. Of the emotion between brothers in the red sea cross-strait burst is really make people enough trails, ramses on the rock continuously shout "Moses" name, that is not his hate him, but he wants to him back, Moses, in the face of the millions of compatriots when watching the red sea cheering alone across the river, that is he willnever lose their homes lost brother lose the prince of Egypt identity be sentimentally attached to. A pair of can spread through the ages brother feeling in the faith, freedom, responsibility, social oppression chose opposition. Sometimes think that in every midnight, Moses will not remembered the young, and ramses leaped the horse running situation. Then smile, really touched me. That feeling, is the most memorable. , I for rameses and Moses cry bitterly, for the Lord's relentless complains. In a word, This movie was great! Beyond great actually. It was inspiring and after watching it, it made me want to become a better person. It was incredibly moving- I even cried!!one of the few animated movies that have had the ability to actually make me cry- if not one of them, the only one! the characters have so much depth. but this movie is REAL- if you get what i mean! it gives you the real answer to everything and that is faith and God. if you have those 2 things in your life, your set man. oh and this movie really made me contemplate a bunch and reflect on myself. at the end of the movie, in one way or another you become more religious and spiritual. But I have felt this I have see not understand place, I admit that cartoon very good, I think it is a bit like a puppet Moses, I can't see that a nation against the power of the noble, especially later punish the egyptians a bit ridiculous. In my impression, god is kind and sacred, but why does god want to slaughter the egyptians? When I saw the egyptians bereft pain, I don't think the egyptians is abhorrent. When the god drop disaster to the egyptians i think he is not god but the devil. The egyptians abuse of the Hebrews, god mutilating the egyptians. So I think god and the egyptians no different, it is the ferocity of the same. And Moses, I know he is reluctant to let his brother lost son, but he was powerless to stop it, he is the Lord's puppet, no their own thoughts and behaviors, so Moses is also sad. Finally Moses led the Hebrews reached a the land of milk and honey. This result appears to be good, but I think it is sad, sacrifice the egyptians to life, fulfill their happiness. Of course this is only my personal view. Finally, I think I know the teacher asked me a question, but I was not happy. The land of milk and honey is not at the expense of the other people's interests to fulfill his own.。
