英语阅读教学三步法作者:朱希林来源:《甘肃教育》2007年第13期〔关键词〕英语;阅读教学;三步法〔中图分类号〕 G633.41〔文献标识码〕C〔文章编号〕 1004—0463(2007)07(A)—0041—01阅读课文部分“Reading”是英语教材中必不可少的环节,它不仅能够提高学生的阅读理解能力和逻辑思维能力,扩大词汇量,拓展知识面,而且能够训练他们的口头表达能力和空间想象能力。
传统教学中多采取先教生词,然后逐字、逐句、逐段地讲解,举例,翻译,最后再领读,朗读。
整个过程以教师为主,课堂气氛死气沉沉。
一言堂、满堂灌的教学效果必定不会很理想,同时也影响了整篇文章知识的完整性和故事的连贯性,尤其是学生的独立阅读能力根本得不到充分的锻炼。
在具体的阅读教学过程中,采取顾日国主编的《英语教学法》中所论述的阅读教学三步法“The Three Stages of Teaching Reading”能够取得较好的效果。
这三步是“pre-reading stage”、“while-read ing stage”和“post-reading stage”。
一、pre-reading stage“pre-reading stage”是阅读的热身活动,为下一步“while-reading stage”作准备。
进一步可以引起学生对阅读材料的兴趣,让学生对阅读材料的内容有所了解,从而有目的地去阅读。
此部分可采取以下活动方式。
1.使用直观教具,可利用课文插图、表格、照片、地图等。
2.讨论课文题目,让他们谈谈对题目的见解以及他们想要了解的相关内容。
3.浏览课文后面需要回答的问题或老师提出的相关问题。
4.从一些关键词了解课文大致内容。
以高中第二册第四单元中阅读材料“English Poetry”为例来说明。
这部分可以请学生说说他们所知的中外诗人以及他们的著作,甚至朗读他们的诗篇。
这样能很好调动学生的积极性,活跃课堂气氛,为下一步“while-reading stage”热身;将一些关键词列在黑板上,如:poem,poet,poetry,rhyme,pattern,limerick,sonnet。
