The feelings after reading of Great
expectations
The book tells us something about an orphan whose name is Pip. Pip is brought up by his sister and his sister’s husband Joe.
His sister has a bad temper. She looks like very rude. Joe’s personality is very geniality. He is a very important man when Pip is a boy. Joe is boy. Joe is a blacksmith. Joe has a great influence on Pip. Pip and Joe are often scolded by the tough woman. They can only stand,they dare not against, and after all she loves them.
Later Pip employed by Miss Hawisham .And fall in love with her adopted daughter Estella. Since he is just a poor boy, he knows he is not worthy of her. So he wants to be a gentleman since he hopes to match on Estella. Then he can only think. Several years he becomes a real blacksmith; nevertheless his heart always has a person, she is Estella .he is still want to be a gentle man .
Occasionally, a man whose name is Jaggers from London tells Pip that He will get a fortune. And he will be taken to Londonto receive education. He matchless happy, his dream will become a reality. Happy remaining to distract him is, exactly is who giving him this property.
After becoming gentleman, Pip behaves haughtily and coldly .His sister died .He sad. But he has not changed his views. He thinks he is a gentleman. He need not too ignore Joe and Biddy who taught him to read and writes and later took care of his sister. So he lost a lot.
Later Pip knows the man who gives him the help is the convict who saved by Pip when he was a boy. And then he grew up. He knows how to help the convict. But eventually the convict died.
So he has no anything. He becomes ill. Then Joe appears. Joe takes care of him like when he was a boy. Pip moved but at the same time he is so regret for his snobbish treatment of Joe and Biddy.
When ha feels better, he wants to visit Joe and Biddy, and tells Biddy that he wants marry her. But it is too late. Biddy already married Joe. So he just hopes they have a happy life.
At length, Pip find Estella .Joe knows they will no longer depart.
We learn that social and educational improvements are irrelevant to one’s worth and that conscience and affect are to be valued above erudition and social standing. Loyalty, love and human affection are more important than social standing and ambition.
I remember something about myself from Pip’s life. I get a lot of help from my relations, so I can go to university. I don’t know how to return this love. They said they needn’t anything, they only hope I have a good future. But however I wi ll return
