The consequence when these lessons carry over from the home to the classroom: Girls are generally observed to be more dependent on the teacher, more concerned with the form and neatness of their work than its content, and more anxious about being right in theiranswers than in being intellectually independent, analytical, or original.C. Choose five words and guess what the writer uses them to say.argument; compliment; conversation; curious; disagreement; dull; embarrassment; factual; genuine; hospitable; lively; relationship; sensitive; secretive; silence; spy; topic; violate; wealthMaking Friends in the USAIn the USA, conversation is less lively than in many other cultures, where everyone talks at the same time. When someone talks, everyone is expected to listen, no matter how dull the person's speaking may be.If you're not sure what to talk about, you can ask what people do. We're defined by our jobs and we're usually happy to talk about them, unless you're a spy! Some people say that Americans talk about their feelings more than Asians, but are more about matters. You can safely ask questions about families, where you come from, leisure interests,as well as the latest movies. We're interested in people's ethnic background too. But it's best to avoid politics, religion and other sensitive topics.A highly personal conversation can take place after a very short period of knowing someone, but this doesn't mean that you're close friends, or the relationship is very deep. But a lot of people are very friendly and , and the famous invitation "If you're ever in Minneapolis / San Diego / Poughkeepsie, do call by and see us!" is never made without a desire to meet again. But while few Americans will worry about the questions you may ask, particularly if you clearly show you're aware of cultural differences, they may hesitate before they ask you similar questions. In fact, it's a sign that they don't wish to your private life. So, many Americans will talk about safe topics because they don't dare to be too curious or personal, but will happily talk about more private matters if you .Generally we dislike arguments, and we avoid topics which lead to disagreement. It's easy to return to discussing the weather: "Do you like the USA? How do you like the weather?" or making compliments: "What lovely flowers and what a beautiful vase!""That's a fabulous dress you're wearing." You should accept compliments and say "Thank you!"There are a couple of dangerous topics of conversation: age and money. Age is not treated as something very special, unless someone is very old: "Isn't she wonderful for her age!" and there are no special rules or signs of extra respect for elderly people. Anyway, Americans always want to look younger than they really are, so don't expect an accurate !Income is a very private matter, and you'd do well to avoid asking how much people earn, although some people may not only be open about it, but their wealth. We don't ask how much things cost, either. But what we don't like is silence, and almost anything is better than the embarrassment of a quiet party and silent guests. Read the advice on small talk. Is it true for you?1.Y ou can ask about families, what people do and like,etc.2.I t's OK to talk about religion and politics.3.Y ou shouldn't talk about your feelings.4.D on't ask personal questions.5.M ake sure you don't talk about the weather or givecompliments.6.Y ou can talk about people's age and their income.7.Choose the correct answers.1. A very important function of small talk is to establish a relationship between people who don't know each other very well, or don't know each other at all.Psychologists say that the most successful formula for small talk between people like this is the AAA model. AAA = answer, add and ask. This is how it works.Imagine a situation where two strangers are talking to each other after someone they both know has left the room, or the café or party, etc. The first person asks a question:A:Do you live near here? The second person replies by answering the question, adding some extra information and then asking another question:B:(Answer) Yes, I do. (Add) In an apartment on Brown Street. (Ask) Do you live nearby too?The first person does the same, answer, add and ask:A:(Answer) No, I live in Bristol. (Add) I'm just visiting London. (Ask) Have you lived here long?B:(Answer) Not so long. (Add) I moved here three years ago. (Ask) What's the purpose of your visit to London? The speakers may have difficulty at first, but they soon realise that the important thing is that they are saying something. By continuing with the AAA model, the conversation continues. Because the thing they both want to avoid is an embarrassing silence. The conversation can continue in this way for a long time. However, something can happen that completely changes the atmosphere.B:Why do you live in Bristol?A:I'm studying there. History. Are you a student?B:Yes. And I know some people who are studying at Bristol. Do you know a girl called Helen Brown?A:Helen Brown!! Yes! She's one of my best friends! How do you know her?B:She's my cousin. At this point, the AAA model stops. Because they used this very useful social technique, they found something they have in common at last.。

申请成为大学生运动会志愿者英语作文

申请成为大学生运动会志愿者英语作文

申请成为大学生运动会志愿者英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Dream to Be a University Sports VolunteerHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I'm in the 5th grade at Oakwood Elementary School. I absolutely love sports and being active. My favorites are soccer, basketball, and running. I try my best to stay fit and healthy by exercising every day and eating nutritious foods like fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean protein.I have a really exciting dream that I'm hoping will come true soon. I want to volunteer at the upcoming University Sports Festival at my local college, Riverside University. Every spring, they host a huge weekend filled with all kinds of athletic events and competitions. Thousands of people from the community come to either participate or just to watch and cheer. It looks like so much fun!I first learned about the Sports Festival volunteer opportunity from my P.E. teacher, Coach Jackson. He was telling our class how the university needs a lot of helpers to make sureeverything runs smoothly. The volunteers get to do all sorts of cool jobs like setting up the fields and courts, handing out programs and waters, assisting the athletes, operating the scoreboard, and cleaning up afterward. It sounds like the perfect way for a kid like me who loves sports to get involved! As soon as I heard about it, I knew I just had to apply to volunteer. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to be right there in the middle of the action at all the amazing sporting events? Getting to see the athletes up close as they demonstrate their skills and talents? Witnessing all the teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship firsthand? It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it! Spending an entire weekend surrounded by sports would be a dream come true.I already started working on my volunteer application as soon as I got home from school that day. The first part asked me to explain why I would be a great volunteer. Well, that was easy! As I mentioned, I'm a total sports enthusiast. I eat, sleep, and breathe athletics. Whenever I'm not playing sports myself, you can find me watching them on TV or reading books and magazines about professional athletes. I know all the rules and strategies for pretty much every popular sport out there. So I'm definitely prepared with a ton of sports knowledge and passion. The application also wanted to know about any relevant experience I have. Although I'm still young, I've already volunteered at several events before. Every year, I help out at my school's Field Day tasks like timing races, keeping score, and handing out ribbons. I've also volunteered at my community center's basketball camps, where I rebounded for the players and kept everything organized. And last summer, I got to volunteer at my town's annual 5K race too. My jobs were setting up the water stations, giving directions to runners, and cheering everyone on. I tried my best to be a friendly, hardworking, and reliable volunteer every time.Another question asked what personal strengths I could bring as a volunteer. I think some of my best qualities are:I have a ton of energy and enthusiasm! I'll come to every event with a big smile on my face, ready to put in 100% effort, no matter what task I'm assigned. My positive, upbeat attitude is sure to rub off on others.I'm a real team player. Even though I'll be volunteering and not actually competing, I'll treat it just as seriously as if I were part of the team. I show up ready to cooperate, follow instructions, and do whatever needs to be done, all while encouraging those around me.I'm responsible and mature for my age. My parents and teachers are always complimenting me on my dedication, work ethic, and ability to follow through on my commitments. You can count on me!I have outstanding communication skills. I know how to listen carefully, ask questions if anything is unclear, and interact politely and respectfully with people of all ages.I closed my application by emphasizing how being around the spirit of healthy competition and sportsmanship would be an incredibly valuable experience for me. It could teach me so many important life lessons that will help me grow into a well-rounded individual with admirable character. Teamwork, discipline, bouncing back from setbacks, pushing myself to do my best... These are all amazing qualities that sports can develop.More than anything, I want to play an active role in this exciting community event. Rather than just sitting on the sidelines, I'd love the chance to be right in the heart of the action, taking part in making it all happen. It would honestly make me so proud and happy to volunteer my time and give back in this way.I have my fingers and toes crossed that I'll get selected! If chosen, I promise to be the hardest worker and put in 500% effort, no matter what tasks I'm assigned. I'll show up with apositive, can-do spirit every single day. And you can be sure that I'll be the biggest cheerleader, energetically cheering on each athlete and helping them all have an incredible experience. So please, please, please pick me to volunteer at the University Sports Festival! I may be just a kid, but I have a huge heart for sports and more passion than you can imagine. It would mean everything to me. I'll be anxiously waiting for your decision!篇2My Big Dream to Help at the University Sports MeetHi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 8 years old. I have a really big dream that I hope comes true. I want to be a volunteer at the big university sports meet happening next month! You might be wondering why a little kid like me wants to volunteer at a university event. Well, let me tell you! I absolutely love sports of all kinds. Football, basketball, running, gymnastics - you name it and I'm into it. I watch sports competitions on TV all the time and I even play on some kids teams myself.I'm pretty good at sports for my age too. My coaches always tell me I'm a natural athlete and that I have a lot of potential. I practice really hard and always give it my all, whether it's practiceor a big game. Good sportsmanship is really important to me too.I always play fair, follow the rules, and show respect to my teammates, opponents, and officials.Even though I love playing sports myself, one of my very biggest dreams is to help out at a big sports event one day. Can you imagine how cool that would be? Getting to be right there in the middle of all the action rather than just watching from the sidelines or on TV? Well, this university sports meet could be my chance! If I got to volunteer, I would work my absolute hardest at any tasks they gave me. I'm a really responsible kid and wouldn't goof around or mess anything up. I would show up on time (or maybe even early!) with a huge smile ready to lend a hand in any way I could.I could help set up equipment and fields before the events, or tidy up afterwords. I'm pretty strong for my age so I can lift and carry a good amount of stuff. I'd have no problem running back and forth to grab anything the officials or athletes needed either. With my boundless energy, I could run laps around the grown-ups if you needed me to!If they needed someone to hand out programs, refreshments, or other items to spectators, I'd be perfect for that!I'm very polite and have been told I have excellent customer service skills. I know how to address adults properly and be respectable. I'll hand out whatever you need with a big cheerful smile. You could even put me to work running sideline errands for the athletes if you wanted. Like fetching them water, towels, or any other supplies. I promise I'd get the items to them right away in a flash! The athletes could count on me. I'd do a great job helping them out so they can focus entirely on their competitions.I also know a ton about different sports and all the rules and strategies. So maybe I could even assist the officials a little by tracking scores, explaining rules, or other small tasks if needed? Just let me know what you need help with and I'll study up to learn anything I don't know yet. Most importantly, I'll bring loads of team spirit and positive energy! I'll be the best cheerleader ever with my loud vocals cheering on each athlete. I'll make sure they feel supported to do their best. I'll lead the crowds in cheers and busting out those classic cheers with a huge smile on my face. Nothing gets people more pumped up than an enthusiastic kid leading the charge!I know I'm just a kid, but I can assure you I'll take this responsibility seriously and work harder than anyone. This is my dream, after all! I'll show up with endless energy and a positive, can-do attitude ready to take on any tasks you need an extra set of hands for.Pleeeeeease pick me to be a volunteer! I promise I'll make you proud and be a huge asset to your sports meet. You won't regret letting this kid join the team! I'll do you proud and make sure everything runs smoothly. What do you say, will you make my dream come true?Thank you so much for considering me! I'll be crossing my fingers and toes waiting for your response. I appreciate you taking the time to read my letter. Have a sport-tastic day!Sincerely,Timmy篇3My Big Dream of Being a VolunteerHi there! My name is Sophie and I'm 10 years old. I'm in the 5th grade at Rainbow Elementary School. I love sports and games of all kinds - whether it's playing soccer or basketball withmy friends at recess, or running around at the park on the weekends. Sports are just so much fun! That's why I was super excited when I heard that the big university near my house, Oxford University, is having their annual university-wide sports meet next month. Games and competitions in every sport you can imagine - track and field, swimming, basketball, volleyball, you name it! Just thinking about it makes me want to jump up and down. The really cool thing is that they need volunteers to help out at the event. As soon as I heard about that, I knew I just had to apply to be a volunteer. Can you imagine how amazing it would be to get to be right there at all the action? Watching the athletes up close, being a part of the excitement and energy of the whole event? It sounds like a dream come true for asports-loving kid like me!Of course, I'll have to convince my parents to let me apply first. I already started working on them at dinner last night. I gave them my biggest puppy dog eyes and said "Pleeeeease can I volunteer at the university sports meet? It would be such an incredible opportunity and experience for me!"My dad was a little hesitant at first. He said "I don't know, Sophie. It's a huge event with lots of people. Are you sure you could handle that kind of responsibility?"But I looked him right in the eye and said "Absolutely, dad! You know I'm a hard worker who doesn't get overwhelmed easily. I'll take it super seriously and do whatever jobs they need me to do."My mom jumped in and said she thought it could be a great growing experience for me, as long as there are adults supervising the volunteers closely. She said it would teach me discipline, teamwork, and how to take on crucial roles for a big event. I could see my dad starting to warm up to the idea. Then I sealed the deal by reminding them that the volunteering hours could count towards my community service requirements for school next year. "Plus," I added with a big smile, "you know how much I love sports! This would mean the world to me."By the end of dinner, they had agreed to let me apply - as long as I proved I was responsible enough to take it seriously. Yes! Time to get working on my application. The application asks why I want to be a volunteer at the sports meet. Well, that's an easy one to answer! As I already told my parents, I'm simply nutty about sports and games. Getting to be behind the scenes at such a big sporting event would be a dream come true.I'm imagining being a runner, helping to carry important equipment, paperwork, or even water bottles to the athletes and staff. Or maybe they'll have me stationed at one of the field events like the high jump, long jump, or shot put. I could help by doing things like raking the sandpit, measuring the jumps, or running down to retrieve the shots after each throw. Ooh, or what if they let me be a ball retriever for the tennis matches? Can't you just picture me, sprinting across the courts to chase down balls that go flying off to the sides? I have plenty of energy to run all day, and I'm Goal doesn't have type me accurate too - so I'd be perfect for a job like that!Whatever tasks they give me, you can bet I'll take them seriously and follow all the rules and instructions. I'm a real stickler for the rules, probably because my parents are both teachers and are always stressing how important it is to listen to authorities and do things the right way. If one of the officials orstaff at the meet told me to do something a certain way, I would follow their directions to an absolute T.I also have a great attitude and a friendly, outgoing personality. I'm the type of kid who will show up with a big smile on my face every day, ready to jump in and help out however I can. Whenever one of my teachers needs a student volunteer for something at school, they know I'm one of the first to raise my hand with an enthusiastic "Pick me! Pick me!" I just love being involved and helping out in any way I can. That kind of energy and positivity is really important for a big event like this sports meet. I can imagine myself cheering on the athletes and spreading a fun, energetic vibe wherever I go. It's going to be such an exciting environment and I want to contribute to that buzz and sense of celebration in any way possible.Speaking of celebration, I haven't even mentioned one of the best parts about being a volunteer - getting to be a part of the opening and closing ceremonies! From what I've read, they have these really cool, spirited performances to kick off the meet and wrap it all up at the end. I'm picturing athletes parading in wearing their university colors, maybe some music and dancing, all Building up the anticipation and excitement. Then at the end, getting to celebrate all the accomplishments and hard work from the whole event. As a volunteer, I'd hopefully get to be behind the scenes for those iconic, high-energy ceremonies. Just thinking about it is giving me goosebumps!Another part of the application asks about any relevant experience I might have. Well, I may only be 10 years old, but I've actually been volunteering for a few years now through programs at my school and community center. Pretty much any opportunity that comes up, whether it's helping out at a charity drive, assisting with setting up for a community event, or even just being a classroom helper for my teacher, I'm there! In fact, last year I received an Outstanding Student Volunteer award from my school district for logging over 100 volunteer hours. I was so proud of that achievement and my parents were beaming. As young as I am, I've already experienced first-hand how awesome and rewarding it can feel to volunteer your time and energy for good causes. So in that sense, I may be small, but I'm brave and experienced beyond my years when it comes to volunteering. I know what it takes - dedication, responsibility, following instructions, and doing whatever needs to be done with apositive, hardworking attitude. Those are all qualities I have in spades.I also think my relative youth could be an advantage in a way. Think about it - if you're an athlete competing at this intense, high-pressure event, and you see a smiling young kid helping out and clearly having a blast, doesn't that just brighten your mood a little? Maybe put a smile on your face during a stressful moment? Kids are naturals at spreading joy and positive vibes. I could be a little bundle of encouragement and spirit for the athletes!Ultimately, being chosen as a volunteer for this sports spectacle would mean so much to me. It would be a chance to pursue my passion for sports and games, while also stepping up and taking on an important role to help make the event a success. I may be young, but I've been working hard my whole life to show that I'm responsible, capable, and worthy of big opportunities like this.Spending my days surrounded by athletes competing at an elite level, soaking up the electric atmosphere of the games and competitions - that's what I dream about. And you'd better believe that if I'm fortunate enough to get picked, I'll make the most of every single second. I'll work my tail off, follow every ruleand instruction perfectly, and be a boundless source of smiles and positive vibes.I hope I've made it clear why being a volunteer for this university sports meet would be a amazing and meaningful experience for me. More than anything, it would reinforce the values that I live by - teamwork, determination, sportsmanship, and always doing my best to help others achieve their goals. Those are the values that guide me in everything I do.So what do you say, deciders of the volunteer team? Will you give this passionate, hard-working, sports-loving 10-year-old kid a chance to be a part of your big event? I promise I won't let you down! Thanks for your consideration - keep your fingers crossed for me!。

社区服务和志愿者工作的相同点英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Joy of Helping Others: Finding Common Ground Between Community Service and Volunteer WorkHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. Today, I want to talk to you about something that brings me a lot of happiness – helping others through community service and volunteer work. While these two things might sound a bit different, they actually have a whole lot in common. Let me explain!First off, let's define what community service and volunteer work actually mean. Community service usually refers to unpaid work that helps out people in your local area or neighborhood. It could be anything from picking up litter in the park to visiting elderly folks at a nursing home. Volunteer work is pretty similar –it means freely giving your time and energy to assist an organization or cause, without getting paid for it. So both involve generously offering your efforts to support people in need. Now, you might be wondering - why bother doing all this extra work for free when you could be playing video games or watching TV instead? Well, that's where the similarities between community service and volunteering really start to shine through. They're amazing ways to make a positive impact on the world around you and put some good out there. Whenever I take part in either of them, I get this warm, fuzzy feeling inside knowing that I'm making someone's day a little bit brighter.Let me give you some examples from my own experiences. A few months ago, my school organized a community service day where we spent the afternoon pulling weeds and planting flowers in the town park. At first, I have to admit, I wasn't too thrilled about getting dirty and giving up my Saturday. But by the end, I felt so proud seeing how fresh and colorful the gardens looked. I could picture kids playing frisbee on the grass and families having picnics there. Just knowing that my hard work would create a nicer space for my community to enjoy filled me with joy.Or what about the time I volunteered at the animal shelter over my spring break? I got to help feed the cats and dogs, scoop out their litter boxes, and best of all - play with them! Seeing the excited wags of the pups' tails when I tossed them atennis ball or the happy purrs of the kitties as I petted them just melted my heart. For those few hours, I was making their lives a little bit better while they waited to find their forever homes. That's the sort of rewarding feeling you can only get from serving others in your community or volunteering your time.Another key similarity is that both community service and volunteer work allow you to learn new skills that'll be useful later in life. Maybe you'll discover you have a real knack for organizing food drives or planting community gardens. Or perhaps you'll get hands-on experience in caregiving by volunteering at a hospital or nursing facility. You never know what hidden talents you might uncover!Personally, I've become a lot more responsible and confident through my community service and volunteer experiences. Like that time I volunteered as a tutor for younger kids struggling with their reading - I had to take charge, exercise patience, and really put myself in their shoes. It wasn't always easy, but feeling their excitement as their skills improved was incredibly gratifying.I know those leadership abilities will come in handy again someday.Speaking of buddying up with others, that's another awesome shared benefit - the chance to work as a team andmake new friends! Some of my closest pals are kids I first met while volunteering side-by-side at a soup kitchen or doing community beautification projects. There's just something about rolling up your sleeves together for a good cause that bonds people. You get to know each other's strengths, learn to compromise, and celebrate your accomplishments as a group. Strong communities are built on teamwork like that. The bottom line is that community service and volunteer work are two incredibly fulfilling ways to spend your time. Sure, they both require hard work and sacrifice. You might get sweaty, miss out on a fun event, or even face difficult situations. But the rewards of helping others and doing your part to make the world a little bit better easily outweigh any of the small costs.Whether you're cleaning up litter from your neighborhood playground or serving meals at a homeless shelter, you're sending a powerful message of care and compassion. You're modeling kindness, empathy and the drive to take an active role in resolving problems. And you're creating beautiful shared memories and forging meaningful connections. What could be more worthwhile than that?So next time there's an opportunity to volunteer or give back through community service, I hope you'll jump at the chance!Find a cause that speaks to your heart and step up. Get your hands dirty making gardens grow. Lend your arms to sort donations or distribute food. Share your mind by tutoring kids or organizing donations. Every contribution counts, no matter how large or small.Let's work together to fill our communities with more helpers, more heroes, more people willing to be the change they wish to see in the world. If we all pitch in where and whenever we can, imagine how much brighter the future will be! I'm proud to be a young person taking an active role, and I can't wait to see the incredible impacts we'll make together through lives of sincere service.篇2Community Service and Volunteer Work: Two Sides of the Same CoinHi there! My name is Alex, and I'm a 4th grader at Oakwood Elementary School. Today, I want to talk to you about two things that might seem different at first, but are actually quite similar - community service and volunteer work.Let me start by explaining what each of these terms means. Community service refers to work that is done to help andbenefit your local community, like your neighborhood, town, or city. It could involve things like cleaning up a park, visiting seniors at a nursing home, or collecting food for a food bank. Volunteer work, on the other hand, is when you freely choose to do work for an organization or cause without getting paid. This could be for a charity, a non-profit group, or even a school or church. While community service and volunteer work might sound a bit different, there are actually a lot of similarities between the two. Let me share some of the key ways they are alike:Helping OthersThe main goal of both community service and volunteer work is to help and support other people. Whether you're cleaning up litter from a local stream or serving meals at a homeless shelter, you're making life a little bit better for others in your community. It's all about pitching in and lending a hand to those who need it.Giving BackAnother big similarity is that community service and volunteering are ways to give back to your community or to causes you care about. When you do these activities, you're notjust taking from the world around you – you're contributing something positive in return. It's a way to show gratitude and appreciation for all the good things in your life.No Payment InvolvedHere's a key point – with both community service and volunteer work, you don't get paid any money for what you do. It's work that you choose to do freely, simply because you want to make a positive difference, not because you'll get a paycheck at the end. The reward comes from the good feelings you get by helping others!Developing New SkillsWhether you're volunteering or doing community service, you'll likely have the chance to learn and practice new skills along the way. Maybe you'll get better at public speaking by reading stories to kids at a library. Or perhaps you'll pick up some gardening know-how by helping out at a community garden. Either way, you're gaining valuable experience!Meeting New PeopleAnother cool thing about community service and volunteering? You'll get to meet all sorts of new, interesting people that you might not otherwise cross paths with. You couldmake friends with senior citizens, neighbor kids, or people from different backgrounds. It's a great way to step out of your usual social circle.Feeling GoodFinally, the biggest similarity between these two things is the amazing feeling you get when you help out and give back. There's nothing quite like the warm, fuzzy sense of satisfaction that comes from doing good deeds and making your community a little bit better. It's enough to make anyone want to keep on volunteering and doing service! So as you can see, while community service and volunteering might seem a bit different on the surface, they actually have a whole lot in common at their core. Whether you're cleaning up a beach or tutoring younger kids, you're giving back, helping others, and making your corner of the world a little bit brighter.Personally, I've been lucky enough to do my fair share of both community service and volunteering over the years. I've helped out at church food drives, spent afternoons reading to kids at the library, and teamed up with my classmates to pick up litter in local parks. And you know what? Every single time, I've walked away feeling absolutely awesome inside. Knowing that Imade things a little bit better for someone else is the best feeling in the world! That's why I'd encourage all of you to get out there and do some community service or volunteer work whenever you can. Not only is it a great way to have fun and feel good, but you'll be making your community a better place in the process. You'll gain some awesome skills, meet cool new people, and – most importantly – put some more kindness and goodness out into the world. What's not to love about that?So next time your school, club, or neighborhood is organizing a community service project or putting out a call for volunteers, don't be shy – raise your hand and get involved! The world could definitely use more awesome helpers like you. Thanks for reading, and happy volunteering!篇3The Same Things About Helping Your Community and VolunteeringHello friends! Today I want to tell you about two really awesome ways to help others and make the world better. They are community service and volunteer work. Even though thenames sound a little different, these two things have a whole lot in common!First off, both community service and volunteering mean you are giving your time and effort to help people in need, without getting paid for it. You are choosing to do good deeds just because you care about making things better for others. Isn't that cool? With both volunteering and community service, you can do all sorts of different activities. You could help clean up a park or beach, collect food for people who don't have enough to eat, visit with older people who may feel lonely, or read books to little kids. You can use your unique talents in art, music, sports, tutoring, and so much more to volunteer and provide community service.Another big similarity is that volunteering and community service allow you to learn new skills while helping others. If you volunteer at an animal shelter, you'll learn about caring for pets. At a hospital, you'll learn how to better communicate with people. While tutoring, you'll learn how to explain things clearly. The possibilities are endless! Both volunteer work and community service make you feel really good inside too. There's nothing quite like seeing the smileon someone's face when you've made their day brighter. That warm, fuzzy feeling you get from doing something kind and generous is the absolute best! When you volunteer or do community service, you get to work alongside some amazing people who also care about helping their community and fellow human beings. You'll make new friends who share your values of compassion, hard work, and wanting to make a positive difference. Having that kind of a supportive community is so important.Another key similarity is that volunteering and community service look super impressive on job and college applications down the road. They show that you are a hard worker who steps up to take initiative. Volunteer experience teaches you responsibility, time management, people skills, and so much more that will help you succeed later in life. Both volunteering and community service allow you to explore your interests and maybe even find your passion in life. If you discover you really love working with kids, for example, you could volunteer at a summer camp, after-school program, or tutoring center. That could lead to a very fulfilling career path working with children down the line.Whether you are volunteering or doing community service, your actions make a real impact. Maybe you're building a house for a family who lost their home. Maybe you're serving meals at a soup kitchen for people without enough food. Maybe you're cleaning up litter so parks and beaches look beautiful. Every single act of generosity, no matter how big or small, improves lives.Volunteering and community service also connect you to the place where you live in a special way. When you donate your time and effort to your local community, you develop a deeper appreciation for your town or city. You get to know the people, places, and unique challenges in a way you never could otherwise. It makes you feel like you truly belong.Perhaps the most meaningful similarity between volunteering and community service is the amazing feeling of purpose they provide. By choosing to selflessly give your time and energy, you prove that you care about more than just yourself. You are using your talents to lift up others and make the world a little bit better, one good deed at a time. There's no greater gift than that.So as you can see, community service and volunteering have so much in common! They both allow you to help others whilelearning new skills. They provide a sense of purpose and Pride. They connect you to amazing people. Most of all, they allow you to give back in a way that spreads kindness, compassion, and joy. What could be better than that?If you haven't given volunteering or community service a try yet, I highly recommend you do. Every pair of helping hands makes such a big difference. Find a cause that you really care about, then get out there and start using your awesomeness to make the world a little bit better. I promise you'll be so glad you did!。

英语作文我想要进一步的学习,提升自己全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Big Dreams for the FutureHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I'm in the 5th grade at Oakwood Elementary School. Today I want to talk to you about my big dreams and goals for the future. You see, even though I'm just a kid, I already know that I want to grow up to be someone really special who makes a positive impact on the world.Ever since I was a little girl, my parents have always encouraged me to work hard, be kind to others, and never stop learning. They taught me that getting a good education is one of the most important things in life. My dad always says "knowledge is power" and my mom is always telling me that the more I learn, the more opportunities I'll have to do amazing things when I'm older. That's why I take my studies very seriously, even at my young age. I pay close attention in all my classes, from math and science, to reading, writing, and social studies. Whenever I don'tunderstand something, I always make sure to ask the teacher to explain it again. And after school, I spend a couple hours each night diligently doing all my homework. I know putting in this effort with my academics now will pay off tremendously in the future. But you know what? Book learning is important, but it's not everything. I've also made it a point to develop myself in other ways too. For example, I'm a Girl Scout, which has taught me so many valuable lessons about being a good person, respecting nature, and working as a team. I also take dance classes a few times a week, which helps me stay physically active and disciplined. And on the weekends, I volunteer at the local animal shelter, which has really opened my heart to the importance of being compassionate and caring for those in need. With a strong foundation in academics, extracurricular activities, and community service, I feel like I'm becoming a very well-rounded person. I'm building up all the skills, knowledge, and experiences I'll need to pursue my passion and make my biggest dreams come true!So what are those big dreams, you ask? Well, I've always been deeply moved by the incredible work that doctors and medical researchers do to help people overcome diseases andinjuries. I'm amazed at how much the field of medicine continues to advance and evolve. New treatments and cures are being discovered constantly! That's why my number one dream is to become a doctor myself one day, specializing in finding cures for deadly diseases like cancer.Just imagining being able to save people's lives and free them from suffering makes me so happy. I tear up just thinking about how grateful patients must feel to doctors who help heal them. That's the kind of incredible impact I want to have! I want my life's work to revolve around easing pain, curing the ill, and giving people's families the most precious gift of all - more time with their loved ones. But becoming a doctor and medical researcher isn't going to be easy. I know I'll need to study harder than ever before, stay dedicated through many years of intensive schooling, and develop endless perseverance to push past all the challenges along the way. The path will be difficult, no doubt, but I have the passion, drive, and big dreams to see me through. In order to get started on this journey, my immediate goals are to continue getting straight A's all through elementary school, middle school, and high school. I'll need to take all the highest level science and math courses available to properlyprepare me. I'm also going to start volunteering at the hospital soon to get some real-world experience in the medical field from an early age.Outside the classroom, I'm committed to living an all-around healthy lifestyle too. I'll keep practicing good eating habits, exercising regularly, and taking care of my physical and mental well-being. That way, I'll be able to preserve my own health while I go about the important work of healing others in the future. It's all about creating the right balance.Of course, becoming a doctor is just the starting point. My ultimate dream is to go even further by leading teams of other medical professionals to collaborate on cutting-edge research to cure cancer, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer's, and other devastating illnesses that affect millions around the world. I want to play a key role in those incredible breakthroughs that will save countless lives for generations to come. Just thinking about that possibility gives me goosebumps!I know this is an extremely lofty ambition, especially for someone of my young age. But if you'll allow me to brag for just a moment, I truly don't think any dream is too big for me. You see, I've been told that I'm a very gifted and determined student from a remarkably early age. My teachers always praise me forbeing wise beyond my years, with an insatiable curiosity to constantly learn more. I'm able to grasp complex concepts quickly and view challenges from a solution-oriented perspective. Combine that with my compassion for others and passionate drive to help people, and I think I'll be unstoppable!Whew, sorry for tooting my own horn a bit there. But you get the idea - I have huge dreams, and I'm already working tremendously hard to make them a reality. Still, I know I have so much more growing, learning, and developing to do in the years ahead. With patience, resilience, and an unwavering belief in myself, I'm confident that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.My educational journey is just beginning, but it fills me with incredible excitement for what the future may hold. While the path towards becoming a trailblazing doctor and medical researcher will be long and demanding, I'm ready to pour my heart and soul into it. Just imagining how my work could tangibly improve the human condition and reduce suffering makes every ounce of effort worthwhile. In the meantime, I'll keep being a model student, reading everything I can get my hands on, volunteering in my community, and living with kindness, integrity and purpose every single day. With big dreams fueling my unquenchable thirst for knowledge and passion for helping others, the sky is truly the limit. I may be young, but I have wisdom, ambition, and determination beyond my years. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams, so watch out world - here I come!篇2Learning is Fun and ImportantHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I love learning new things every day. There's so much cool stuff to learn about in this world! I can't wait to tell you all about how important learning is to me.First off, learning is just really fun. I love that feeling of understanding something new for the first time. Like when I was first learning how to read and suddenly all those funny shapes started making sense and turning into words and stories. That was amazing! Or when I learned about addition and subtraction and could start doing math problems. Such a great feeling to get the right answer. There are so many subjects I find fascinating too. I love learning about science and how things work. Why is the sky blue? How do planes stay up in the air? What's gravity? Science has allthe answers to the coolest questions. History is awesome too. Learning about ancient civilizations and explorers from long ago is like going on an adventure back in time. And writing creative stories for English class sparks my imagination to come up with wild tales.Every time I learn something new, it's like a little doorway opens up into a whole new room full of knowledge to explore. And the more I learn, the more doors open up! It's endless. I'll never get bored because there's always more to discover. That's why I try my best and work really hard at school. I pay attention to my teachers, do all my homework, study hard, and ask lots of questions. The more effort I put in, the more I'm able to learn. It's like a hungry little brain soaking up information like a sponge!Learning also helps me grow as a person. The more knowledge I gain, the more I'm able to figure things out, solve problems, and understand the world around me. I become smarter and smarter every day. Pretty cool, right?I feel really lucky that I get to spend my days at school learning. Some kids around the world don't have that opportunity. But I have great teachers and a whole building fullof books and resources for me to use. What a privilege! I try not to waste it.My parents always say that getting a good education will prepare me for life. The more I learn now, the better I'll be able to achieve my future goals and dreams. Whether I want to become a scientist, artist, athlete, or anything else, learning gives me the tools I need to succeed. That's why I get so excited about school projects, assignments, and even tests sometimes! Each one is a new challenge and chance for me to show off what I've learned. It's fun to rise to the occasion and take pride in my hard work.I also love all the new skills I'm developing through learning - things like reading, writing, math, public speaking, and using computers. Those will all help me so much later in life. My brain is like a rocket ship blasting off with every new ability I pick up!Of course, learning can also be really difficult at times. Some subjects are just hard and don't make sense at first. Or I'll study really hard but still not do well on a test. That's frustrating and can make me feel dumb. But my mom tells me that struggling is just part of the learning process. She says my brain is working extra hard, making new connections when I don't understand right away. It's totally normal and okay to find things challenging. The important thing is to not give up!Whenever I get stuck, I ask my teachers for extra help. Ire-read confusing lessons. I practice over and over again. Taking that extra effort and being persistent allows me to push past the struggles. It's such a great feeling when something finally clicks after working really hard at it!Sometimes it also helps to take a little break. If I'm feeling really frustrated, I'll set aside my homework for a bit, go outside and play, then come back to it later feeling refreshed. Having patience with myself is important too.I know I have so much more to learn in the years ahead. That makes me excited, not nervous! The further along I go in my education, the more amazing things there will be to discover. Maybe I'll learn about black holes or Ancient Rome or speaking French. Who knows? The possibilities are endless and awesome. My dream is to just never stop learning, even after I'm done with school. To always stay curious about the world and keep finding out new things. That's how we grow as human beings.I can't wait to learn more reading skills so I can pick up heavier books and stories. Math will let me start tackling harder equations. Science will unlock deeper secrets of how the universe works. Studying coding will allow me to make my own websites and games. The journey of constantly gaining knowledge is a huge adventure! That's why I'll keep studying hard, listening to my teachers, asking questions, and spending plenty of time with my books. I hunger for more learning every single day.Developing my mind and skills is so important to me. I love that learning allows me to open up so many doors to new ideas and possibilities. It makes me smarter. It makes me grow. It gives me confidence and pride. And most importantly, satisfies my endless curiosity about this amazingly fascinating world we live in.There's just nothing better than that feeling of finally grasping a difficult concept or filling my brain with fresh insights. It's exhilarating! As long as I have access to teachers, schools, libraries, and opportunities to learn, I'll always be a happy kid.So keep that knowledge coming! Ring the school bell and bring on the lessons. My mind is hungry and ready to grow. Learning is a gift that I'll always cherish.篇3My Big Dreams for the FutureHi there! My name is Emily and I'm 10 years old. I'm in the 5th grade at Oakwood Elementary School. I love learning new things every day and can't wait to keep growing and getting better at all kinds of subjects. I have some really big dreams for my future! One of my biggest goals is to become an amazing reader and writer. Reading has been my favorite thing since I was a little kid. I still remember when my mom first taught me the alphabet and how to sound out words. It was like a whole new world opened up to me! Books allow me to go on adventures, learn about different places and people, and use my imagination in the most incredible ways. Some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, Charlotte's Web, and anything by Roald Dahl. Mrs. Thompson, my 3rd grade teacher, really encouraged my love of reading and helped me become a stronger writer too. She had us keep writing journals where we could be creative and write our own stories. I filled up three journals that year! This year in 5th grade, we're learning more advanced writing skills like how to structure an essay properly with an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. It's challenging but I'm working hard and my writing abilities are improving a lot. I hope to master things like varying my sentence structure, incorporating descriptive language, and organizing my thoughts logically. By the time I get to middle school and high school, I want to be able to write research papers, creative stories, and persuasive essays with ease.My love of reading and writing makes me dream of maybe becoming an author someday and creating my own books that could inspire children like me. Or perhaps I'll become an English teacher like Mrs. Thompson and help other kids discover their own passion for the written word. Or who knows, maybe I'll find a career that allows me to write every single day, like being a journalist, blogger, or editor. As long as reading and writing are a big part of my life, I know I'll be happy.Another major goal I have is to become fluent in multiple languages. My parents put me in a Spanish immersion preschool when I was 3 years old, so I've been learning that language for a long time now. I can keep up pretty well when my abuela is speaking to me, and I'm getting more confident reading andwriting in Spanish too. This year my Spanish teacher, Señora Ramirez, told my parents that I'm already near fluent which is so cool!Knowing Spanish has given me such an appreciation for learning about new cultures and how to communicate with people from all over the world. I think it's an incredibly useful skill that will open up so many opportunities for me, like being able to travel to different Spanish-speaking countries, reading books and watching movies from those places, and maybe even getting a job someday where I can use my Spanish abilities. That's why I definitely want to start studying other languages soon too. I'm really interested in learning French because I have family that lives in Montreal, and it would be amazing to be able to speak their native tongue. Or perhaps I'll try to master Mandarin Chinese since it's one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. Being multilingual is going to be such an advantage no matter what future career I pursue. In addition to academics, I'm determined to develop a wide variety of skills and talents that will help me live an interesting, well-rounded life. For example, I've been taking dance classes since first grade and have fallen in love with all different styles like ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. Dance has kept me active, taught me about the importance of practice and discipline, allowed me to make lots of new friends, and given me an amazing creative outlet.I definitely plan on continuing dance for as long as I can because I've heard it can teach you things like confidence, teamwork, and expressing yourself, which will be valuable for anything I decide to do later on. Who knows, maybe I'll even end up on Broadway someday showing off my skills! Or perhaps I'll find a career that combines my love of dance with another passion, like becoming a choreographer or dance instructor myself.Speaking of creativity, I also have a strong interest in art. My favorite classes at school are when we get to do fun projects like painting, drawing, sculpting with clay, or photography. I find the process of making art so calming yet energizing at the same time. It's incredible how you can take a blank canvas or piece of paper and transform it into whatever your imagination can dream up. Art class has really helped me tap into my creative side and not be afraid to think outside the box.Looking ahead, I can picture myself taking advanced art classes, joining an art club, or even attending a special summer art camp to further develop my talents. I'd love to become skilledin all different mediums like oil painting, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, and more. Maybe I'll get brave enough to start submitting my artwork to local shows and competitions. Or maybe I'll sell my pieces online or at art fairs as a fun side job. Wherever my art journey takes me, I know it will always be a huge part of my life and make me feel joyful.Last but not least, I have a major goal to become a kinder, braver, and all-around better person with each year that goes by. Even though I'm still just a kid, I try hard to be a good friend, a good student, and a good daughter who is caring, responsible, curious, and works hard. I always strive to treat others with respect, stick up for what's right even when it's hard, and keep an open mind to learn from different people and experiences. As I get older, I hope to become someone with really strong values and morals who isn't afraid to use their voice to stand up against injustice. I want to keep developing more confidence, empathy, and leadership abilities so I can make a positive impact, inspire others, and be a force for good in the world. I'm not sure yet if that will mean literally becoming a leader in my community, like running for student government or starting my ownnon-profit organization. Or if it will be more about living byexample every day by being honest, humble, charitable,hard-working, and kind.No matter what though, I know that continuing to learn, grow, and challenge myself in new ways is going to be so important for making the most of my future. With dedication, passion, and always keeping an open mind to diverse perspectives and experiences, I'm certain I can achieve my dreams and live an incredibly fulfilling life. I can't wait to see where my journey will take me next! The future is pretty exciting when I let my imagination run wild. Perhaps I'll become a world famous dancer who can speak five languages fluently and use my talents to bring different cultures together through the power of artistic expression. Or maybe I'll be an award-winning author who writes inspiring books that teach kids to be brave and kind while never forgetting the importance of creativity. Wherever life leads me, as long as I'm constantly learning and evolving, I'll consider myself a success. Here's to dreaming big!。

Well, after countless hours poring over past exams, advice from teachers, and lots of trial and error, I'm here to share my hard-won tips for crafting an A+ essay. Get those pencils ready - this is going to be an essay-writing masterclass!Tip #1: Truly Understand the PromptThis one seems obvious, but you'd be surprised how many students gloss over the prompt and miss crucial instructions. Read through it slowly and deliberately at least twice. Underline or highlight key phrases and directives like "compare and contrast" or "provide examples from your own experience." Having a rock-solid grasp of exactly what the prompt is asking is step one to answering it perfectly.Tip #2: Create a Concrete OutlineI can't emphasize enough how vital a detailed outline is. It's the skeleton that will give your essay structure, flow, and focus. After reading the prompt, jot down a rough thesis statement that succinctly captures your main argument. Then map out 3-5 key points or examples you plan to use to support that thesis, putting them in a logical order. Having this outline to refer to will keep you organized and prevent rambling.Tip #3: Start With a Slam-Dunk IntroductionYou know what they say - you never get a second chance to make a first impression! Within the first few sentences, you need to hook the grader's attention with a creative opener like a thought-provoking question, striking quote, or vivid anecdote. But don't get too cute - your intro should naturally transition into clearly stating your thesis. An effective introduction whets the reader's appetite for your arguments to come.Tip #4: Use Solid TransitionsImagine reading an essay that jumps wildly from point to point with no cohesion. Pretty jarring, right? Transitions are the bridges that will seamlessly link your ideas together into one unified stream. Use transition words like "furthermore," "in contrast," "additionally," etc. toSignpost for your reader where you're headed next. Aim for a smooth narrative flow from intro to conclusion.Tip #5: Provide Relevant, Convincing ExamplesSay it with me: "Evidence, examples, and elaboration!" The body paragraphs are where you'll substantiate your thesis by painting a well-rounded picture for the reader. Don't just state claims; back them up with specific illustrations, statistics, expertquotes, or even personal experiences that give real-life credibility to your arguments. Expand on these examples with insightful analysis to drive your points home.Tip #6: Consider Multiple PerspectivesWhile your essay should have a focused thesis, that doesn't mean presenting one rigid, myopic view. To elevate your writing, acknowledge counterarguments and examine other perspectives objectively before respectfully refuting them. This nuanced approach shows intellectual maturity and flexibility. Graders love to see this level of critical thinking!Tip #7: Stick the Landing With a Powerful ConclusionAfter building such a strong case, you'll want a conclusion that brings it all home with a resounding thud. Restate your core thesis using slightly different phrasing, then sum up your key pieces of evidence succinctly. End with a typewritten mic drop - something punchy that leaves an impactful final impression. A stellar conclusion cements your credibility.Tip #8: Proofread, Polish, Proofread AgainI know, I know...proofreading is tedious. But you can bet those eagle-eyed graders will catch any careless errors. Once you've written your first draft, set it aside for a bit, then go backthrough with a fine-toothed comb. Check for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and typing mistakes. Make sure ideas are articulated clearly and there is a logical flow. Pruning unnecessary wordiness will also tighten up your writing. A polished, pristine essay signals professionalism.Tip #9: Stay Focused and Manage Your Time WiselyDuring the actual exam, along with impressing the graders, you'll be racing against the clock. Avoid getting sidetracked by the pressure or going down aimless rabbit holes in your essay. Refer back to your outline to stay on course. If you start to ramble, rein it in. Allocate your time accordingly to ensure you have sufficient time for each key component like your intro, body, and conclusion. Being cognizant of pacing is crucial. The Bottom LineScoring high on this essay is equal parts understanding what's expected, organizing your thoughts coherently, providing robust evidence, considering multiple angles, and exhibiting overall stellar writing skills. It's no cakewalk, but I hope this guide has shed useful light on a winning gameplan. If you incorporate these tips and put in the practice, you'll be well on your way to crafting an essay that earns top marks. Now, who's ready to become a certified teacher?!篇2The Golden Key to Acing the 24 Teacher's Certification English ExamAs students gearing up for the all-important 24 Teacher's Certification exam in English, we're all searching for that magic formula to unlock top scores. Well, fear not, my fellow aspiring educators! After hitting the books hard and soaking up all the wisdom my teachers could offer, I've cracked the code. Here's the golden key to English exam success that every future teacher needs.First things first, we've got to talk about reading comprehension. I can't stress enough how crucial it is to be a master at dissecting those mind-bending passages they throw at us. The key? Active reading. Don't just blankly skim the words. Constantly question what you're reading. Scribble notes in the margins. Underline key details. Dog-ear pages with important ideas. Basically, make the passage your literary punching bag by engaging with it relentlessly. The more abuse that text takes from your analytical mind, the easier those diabolic comprehension questions will be to knock out.Speaking of engaging, that's exactly what we need to do with the writing section too. Gone are the days of churning out soulless, formulaic essays devoid of creativity or flair. The new exam demands writing pieces that command attention and showcase your authentic voice as an educator. My advice? Don't be afraid to take risks and inject some personality into those passages. Use evocative anecdotes and analogies to illustrate your points. Vary your sentence structures with punchy rhetorical questions. Explore unconventional metaphors. In short, make the reader's eyeballs dance across the pages!Of course, you'll need a sturdy foundation of grammar, punctuation and spelling to construct those literary masterpieces properly. I'm talking acing verb tenses, mastering those maddening comma rules, and developing an insane vocabulary that'll blow exam graders' minds! My top tip is to become a "repetition machine" by constantly quizzing yourself with practice exercises. Flashcards, online games, you name it - the more ways to absorb those tedious but essential conventions, the better! The listening section? That's where keeping a poker face pays off. You can't let any distractions like background noise, strange accents or your buddy's whispers shake yourconcentration. Nope, you need laser-focused listening skills to identify every key point and comprehension answer. My personal strategy was always scribbling shorthand notes as I listened. That way, I could quickly scan over my jottings once the recording finished, locking those details into my brain.Last but definitely not least, we have that make-or-break component: Speaking. This is where you need to channel your inner thespian and acting skills! There's no room for shyness, monotone mumbling or verbal stumbles here. Loud, proud and clear enunciation is a must to impress those hawk-eyed examiners. My biggest speaking exam tip? Practice endlessly in front of a mirror, recording yourself to identify bad habits like vocalized pauses ("umm", "like", etc.) or fidgeting. Iron those distracting quirks out and you'll be a poised, articulate public speaking pro! There you have it - the combination of skills needed to crack this high-stakes English exam wide open. Mastering each of those key sections is the only way to prove you've got that linguistic know-how to lead a classroom of inquiring young minds. It'll take serious discipline, commitment and maybe some late nights guzzling extra-strength coffee to pull this off. Butstick to the plan, stay focused, and those dreams of becoming an inspiring, knowledgeable English teacher will be reality. The path won't be easy, but neither is shaping the future of education. Luckily, as long as we keep that burning passion for language and learning alive, we've got this exam conquered before even stepping through the doors. With Focus and perseverance, that perfect score is ours for the taking!篇3The Quest for the Ultimate English Essay: Cracking the Code to Teacher Certification GloryAs students, we've all been there – staring at that dreaded blank page, fingers poised over the keyboard, minds racing with a million thoughts but not a single coherent sentence in sight. The English essay, that seemingly insurmountable hurdle standing between us and our dreams of becoming certified teachers, can feel like an unconquerable beast. But fear not, my fellow warriors, for I have embarked on a quest to uncover the secrets to crafting the ultimate English essay, a masterpiece so compelling, so flawlessly constructed, that even the most discerning of graders will be left in awe.First and foremost, let us address the elephant in the room: the ever-looming specter of writer's block. This insidious foe has felled many a brave soul, leaving them stranded in a desert of uninspired thoughts and stale prose. But fear not, for I have discovered a potent elixir to vanquish this dreaded affliction –the power of brainstorming. By unleashing a torrent of ideas, no matter how wild or unconventional, we can create a fertile ground from which our literary masterpiece will bloom.Next, we must turn our attention to the crucial task of outlining. Much like a skilled architect carefully plans the blueprint for a magnificent edifice, so too must we meticulously map out the structure of our essay. A well-crafted outline serves as our trusty compass, guiding us through the treacherous waters of rambling tangents and disjointed narratives, ensuring that our literary voyage remains true to its intended course. With our trusty outline in hand, we can now embark upon the heart of our quest – the actual writing process. Here, we must don the mantle of wordsmith extraordinaire, weaving together a tapestry of eloquent prose and insightful analysis that will leave our readers spellbound. Embrace the art of vivid description, painting vibrant scenes that transport the reader into the very heart of your narrative. Wield the power of persuasiveargumentation, marshaling a phalanx of evidence and logical reasoning to reinforce your central thesis. But mere words, no matter how elegantly crafted, are but the foundation upon which true literary greatness is built. To truly elevate our essays to the realm of the sublime, we must embrace the art of rhetorical devices. Metaphors, similes, and analogies – these are the brushstrokes that add depth, texture, and emotional resonance to our literary canvases. Skillfully employed, they have the power to transform the mundane into the extraordinary, evoking profound connections and stirring the souls of our readers.Yet, even the most masterfully crafted essay is but a house of cards without a solid foundation of research and analysis. We must delve deep into the archives of knowledge, scouring scholarly tomes and authoritative sources, seeking out the gems of insight that will lend credence and weight to our arguments. Only by standing upon the shoulders of intellectual giants can we hope to scale the lofty heights of true academic excellence. And let us not forget the oft-overlooked art of proofreading and editing. Even the most brilliant of literary gems can be tarnished by careless errors and sloppy presentation. With a keen eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to perfection,we must scour our essays, hunting down and eradicating any lingering typos, grammatical gaffes, or logical inconsistencies that might undermine our hard-earned efforts. But our quest does not end with the mere completion of our essays. To truly secure the coveted prize of teacher certification, we must master the art of the oral presentation. With confidence and poise, we must take to the proverbial stage, breathing life into our words and captivating our audiences with the sheer force of our oratorical prowess. For it is not merely the quality of our essays that will be judged, but our ability to articulate and defend our ideas with eloquence and conviction. And so, my fellow journeymen, let us embrace this challenge with open hearts and indomitable spirits. Let us forge ahead, undaunted by the obstacles that may lie in our path, for the rewards that await us are truly beyond measure. The English essay, once our sworn nemesis, shall become our trusted ally, a tool to unlock the gates of professional fulfillment and personal growth. With each word we write, each argument we construct, and each rhetorical flourish we employ, we are not merely crafting essays – we are sculpting the very foundations of our future careers as educators. For it is through the mastery of the writtenword that we will inspire generations to come, igniting within them a passion for learning and a thirst for knowledge that will echo through the ages.So let us raise our pens high, my fellow wordsmith warriors, and charge forth into the fray. The ultimate English essay awaits, a testament to our determination, our intellect, and our unwavering commitment to the noble pursuit of teaching excellence. Victory shall be ours, for we are the architects of our own destiny, and the written word is our most powerful tool in shaping the minds of tomorrow.。

丰富学生课外活动的建议英语作文四级Making School Fun: My Ideas for Awesome Extracurricular ActivitiesHi there! My name is Timmy and I'm a 4th grader at Oakwood Elementary School. I love going to school and learning new things every day, but sometimes the regular classes can get a little boring or repetitive. That's why I think it's so important for schools to offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities - fun clubs, events, and programs that let us explore our interests outside of the typical reading, writing, and math lessons. With some really cool extracurriculars, school becomes way more engaging and exciting!Of course, my school already has some neat after-school clubs like art, music, drama, and sports. But in my opinion, they could definitely add a lot more unique and creative options to appeal to all the different interests us kids have. So I've come up with a bunch of ideas for some awesome new extracurricular activities that I think would make school even better. Here they are:Science & Tech ClubsI'm a curious kid who loves learning about how things work, so I'd be super psyched if we had more science and tech clubs. A robotics club would be incredible - we could learn coding, electronics, and engineering to build and program our own little robots. Or a chemistry club where we get to handle cool lab equipment and mix up safe but messy concoctions. An environmental club would be neat too - we could learn about sustainability, plant trees around the school, and pick up litter in the community.Enrichment ClassesWhile we attend our normal classes during the day, it'd be great to have some fun enrichment classes after school to pick up new skills. I think a cooking class would be awesome - we could learn kitchen basics and how to make tasty meals and snacks. Or a woodworking class where we use tools to build gnarly birdhouses, shelves, and other wood projects. A sewing class would let us make our own custom clothes, accessories, and decorations. Classes like these allow us to be creative while picking up valuable life skills.Outdoor AdventuresSince us kids have so much pent-up energy, I think more outdoor adventure clubs would be a fantastic idea. Anexploration club could take hiking and camping trips to experience nature and learn survival skills. A gardening club could grow delicious fruits and veggies in a school garden. Or a cycling club where we go on awesome bike rides around the neighborhood and local trails. Getting outside and being active is important for keeping us healthy!Performance GroupsA lot of kids love being on stage and in the spotlight, so our school should have more performance-based groups. We could start a dance crew and learn awesome choreographed routines to perform at school events. Or put together a rock band where we write our own music and put on concerts. There could even be a circus arts group where we learn juggling, stilt-walking, acrobatics, and other cool circus skills to showcase at shows.Special Interest ClubsWith so many crazy hobbies and interests out there, it'd be epic if our school offered clubs to explore some of the more unique ones. A fantasy club could be sweet - we could read fantasy novels, play role-playing games, maybe even learn about things like medieval history or sword-making. Or an aviation club that lets us build model airplanes and learn about flight. A chessclub, video game club, comic book club, even a yo-yo club - the possibilities are endless!Competitions & Academic BowlsNot every extracurricular has to be some casual, low-key club. It could be really exciting to have some big academic competitions where we can put our brain power to the test. We could have spelling bees, geography bowls, math olympiads, science fairs - any kind of cognitive challenge or brain game where we get to represent our school and flex our intellectual muscles against other schools in the district or state. The thrill of competition would be so much fun!Community ServiceWhile a lot of extracurriculars are just for fun and learning, I also think it's important for schools to help students give back to the community. A community service club could volunteer at places like animal shelters, soup kitchens, parks, libraries, and any organizations that need an extra hand. It'd make us feel good to donate our time and effort to worthy causes that make our town a little bit better.Field Trips & TravelFinally, nothing breaks up the monotony of normal school life like getting to go on some fun and educational field trips! Imagine if we had an "explorers club" that took us on occasional day trips to cool museums, historical sites, nature preserves, and other places of interest around the state. Or maybe the school could plan a short travel trip once a year to explore a different U.S. city or even go international! Field trips allow us to learn in a hands-on way while getting to explore the great big world beyond our little town. Those are just some of my ideas, but I could probably go on and on with crazy concepts for extracurricular activities. The main point is, schools should really strive to make learning as fun and engaging as possible by offering a ton of unique after-school opportunities. That way, kids like me will be way more excited about coming to school each day to learn AND have a blast trying new things we're passionate about. The more extracurriculars the better, I say! An awesome education doesn't have to be limited to just reading, writing, and arithmetic in the classroom. So bring on the clubs, adventures, and zany learning experiences!。

八年级上册英语启东中学连云港专版全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Title: My Journey with the 8th Grade English TextbookEnglish has always been a subject that I've found both challenging and intriguing. As an 8th grader, the prospect of delving into a new English textbook filled me with a mix of excitement and trepidation. Little did I know that the "Yingdong Middle School Lianyungang Edition" would become more than just a collection of lessons – it would be a companion on a journey of linguistic exploration and personal growth. The first few pages of the textbook greeted me with a vibrant array of colorful illustrations and engaging dialogues. It was like being transported into a world where English wasn't just a language but a gateway to diverse cultures and perspectives. Each unit introduced me to new vocabulary, grammar rules, and idiomatic expressions, but what truly captivated me were the real-life scenarios and relatable characters. One of the units that left a lasting impression on me was the one focused on environmental protection. Through a series ofthought-provoking readings and activities, I gained a deeper appreciation for the urgent need to safeguard our planet. The textbook encouraged us to think critically about our daily habits and challenged us to find practical ways to reduce our carbon footprint. It was eye-opening to realize how even the smallest actions, like turning off lights or recycling, could contribute to a more sustainable future.Another unit that resonated with me was the one centered on cultural diversity. As I navigated through the dialogues and exercises, I found myself immersed in a tapestry of traditions, customs, and beliefs from around the world. It was a humbling experience to recognize the richness and complexity of different cultures, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and respect for the diversity that surrounds us.The textbook didn't just focus on expanding our linguistic skills; it also encouraged us to cultivate essential life skills. There were sections dedicated to effective communication,problem-solving, and teamwork. I vividly remember the group projects and discussions that challenged us to collaborate, negotiate, and find creative solutions to real-world problems. These experiences taught me the value of active listening, compromise, and the power of collective effort.Of course, like any journey, there were moments of frustration and struggle. Certain grammar rules seemed to defy logic, and some vocabulary lists felt endless. However, the textbook provided a wealth of resources and exercises to reinforce our learning. The accompanying workbook offered ample practice opportunities, while the audio materials allowed us to immerse ourselves in authentic English conversations. As the academic year progressed, I could feel myself becoming more confident and proficient in English. The textbook had become a trusted companion, guiding me through the intricacies of the language and opening my eyes to the boundless possibilities that fluency could offer.Looking back, the "Yingdong Middle School Lianyungang Edition" was more than just a textbook; it was a catalyst for personal growth and intellectual curiosity. It challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, embrace new perspectives, and strive for excellence. The lessons I learned extended far beyond the confines of the classroom, shaping my worldview and equipping me with invaluable skills for navigating the complexities of life.As I prepare to embark on the next chapter of my academic journey, I carry with me the lessons and experiences from thistextbook. It has instilled in me a love for language, a appreciation for diversity, and a thirst for knowledge that will undoubtedly serve me well in the years to come.篇2My 8th Grade English Textbook: A Student's PerspectiveAs an 8th grader at Qidong Middle School in Lianyungang, the start of a new semester means getting a brand new English textbook. This year, we're using the "Yingyu" textbook specifically tailored for our school district. At first glance, it seems like just another regular English book. But as I started diving into the lessons and materials, I realized there's more to it than meets the eye.One of the first things that struck me about this textbook is how neatly organized and structured it is. The units are divided logically, making it easy to follow the progression of language learning. Each unit starts with a warm-up section that introduces the main theme or topic, followed by reading passages, vocabulary lists, grammar explanations, and a variety of exercises to reinforce what we've learned. What I particularly appreciate is the way the textbook integrates different skills – reading, writing, listening, andspeaking – into each unit. It's not just a matter of memorizing words or grammar rules; we get to practice using the language in practical, real-life scenarios. The dialogues and role-playing activities make the lessons feel more engaging and relevant to our lives as middle school students. The reading passages are a real highlight for me. They cover a diverse range of topics, from science and technology to cultural traditions and social issues. Not only do they expose us to different writing styles and genres, but they also provide valuable insights into various aspects of life, both locally and globally. I find myself eagerly looking forward to the next reading, wondering what new perspectives and ideas it might bring.Another aspect of the textbook that I appreciate is the emphasis on developing critical thinking skills. Many of the exercises encourage us to analyze, interpret, and form our own opinions on the topics discussed. This goes beyond just regurgitating information; it challenges us to think deeply and engage with the material in a more meaningful way.Of course, no textbook is perfect, and there are a few areas where I think this one could be improved. Some of the vocabulary lists can feel a bit overwhelming, with too manywords introduced at once. It would be helpful if they were broken down into smaller, more manageable chunks. Additionally, while the textbook does include some cultural elements, I would love to see even more focus on exploring the rich diversity of cultures around the world.Despite these minor criticisms, overall, I'm quite pleased with our "Yingyu" textbook. It strikes a good balance between providing structured language learning and fostering a more comprehensive understanding of the English language and its uses in various contexts. But what truly makes this textbook stand out is the way it connects to our local community in Lianyungang. The reading passages and examples often reference familiar places, traditions, and experiences that resonate with us as students living in this city. It's a little detail, but it makes the learning feel more personal and relevant to our lives. For example, one of the units covers the history and cultural significance of the Lianyungang Baizhou Mountain Scenic Area, a popular tourist destination in our city. Reading about a place I've visited and learning the English vocabulary and expressions related to it made the material feel much more relatable and interesting.Another unit discussed the local fishing industry, which is a major part of Lianyungang's economy and heritage. Learning about the different types of fishing vessels, the various species caught, and the importance of sustainable practices gave me a newfound appreciation for this aspect of our city's culture and livelihood. These local connections don't just make the content more engaging; they also serve as a reminder of the practical applications of learning English. As our city continues to grow and attract more international visitors and businesses, having strong English language skills will become increasingly valuable for communicating and representing our community effectively.Of course, learning a language is never an easy task, and there are times when I find myself struggling with certain concepts or feeling overwhelmed by the workload. But our dedicated English teachers are always there to provide guidance and support, offering extra explanations, practice exercises, and encouragement when we need it.In the end, what makes this textbook truly special is not just the well-designed lessons or the local references, but the sense of community and shared learning experience it fosters among us students. As we navigate the challenges and triumphs ofmastering English together, we form bonds and shared memories that will stay with us long after we've moved on to the next grade level. So while this "Yingyu" textbook may seem like just another required school material on the surface, it represents so much more – a gateway to expanding our linguistic horizons, a bridge to understanding diverse cultures and perspectives, and a shared journey of growth and discovery alongside our classmates and teachers. And for that, I'm grateful to have it as a companion on my educational path.篇3English Class and the Qidong Middle School TextbookAs an 8th grader at Qidong Middle School, English class is one of the most important parts of my weekly schedule. Our special Lianyungang edition textbook is essential for learning the language. While some students groan about having to study English, I actually find it really interesting and valuable. The textbook we use covers all the core topics like vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, writing, and oral exercises. But it goes beyond just the basics. The units have creative lesson names like "The Way Things Work" and "Roomswith a View." This makes things more engaging right from the start. One aspect I appreciate is how the textbook units integrate different skills together. For example, in the "Going Green" unit, we read about environmental protection which helped build our vocabulary. Then we analyzed some persuasive writing examples about sustainability. Finally, we had to write our own letters to the local government proposing eco-friendly policies for the community. Combining reading, writing, and real-world applications like that makes the lessons feel practical and relevant. The textbook is also packed with lots of fascinating cultural knowledge about English-speaking countries. We've learned about things like American baseball, Australian wildlife, Canadian indigenous cultures, and more. There are dialogs, videos, pictures and other multimedia components that make the information come alive. Getting insights into how people in places like the U.S. and U.K. live and think really sparks my interest in the wider world.Of course, no textbook is perfect and there are things I'd improve about ours too. Some of the topics and example sentences feel a bit outdated or disconnected from modernteenage life in China. A few units also seem too crammed with dense information. Overall though, I think the pluses outweigh the minuses. Our Lianyungang edition manages to make English learning systematic yet creative at the same time.Studying from this textbook has definitely expanded my English abilities in multiple ways. My vocabulary has grown enormously, whether it's academic terms, slang, or cultural references. I'm also becoming more comfortable comprehending longer readings and audio segments. Writing has been transformative too - my compositions have improved massively in areas like cohesion, precision, and being persuasive or descriptive. I can discuss and debate in English more naturally as well.Looking ahead, the skills I'm developing will be invaluable. Being proficient in English opens doors to better universities, careers, and experiencing the world. My parents always emphasize how vital English will be no matter what path I choose. Maybe I'll become a scientist reading academic papers, a business professional giving presentations, or even living abroad for work. In any scenario, the English base I'm building now gives me a major headstart. So while English class can be challenging at times, our Lianyungang textbook is a huge asset for Qidong students trying to master the language. It packages all the key ingredients - useful content, cultural insights, practical exercises, multimedia elements - into one helpful resource. Studying from it isn't just about memorizing grammar rules. We're gaining real communication skills for the future. As I continue through middle school and beyond, I'm sure this book will keep playing a pivotal role in my English education and growth.。

The Active Role of Children in LearningPiaget attempted to explain how children understand their world by adapting and interpreting the objects and the events they experience. He focused on the active role of children in development. Accordingly, Piaget reasoned that children are not merely passive recipients of information of their environment. Their thoughts are modified by the environment as they actively interpret new experiences and adapt them to what they already know.Strategies for problem solvingThe actions of children, such as choosing their favorite color, do not occur haphazardly or randomly. Piaget believed that children develop strategies and rules, which they use to solve problems. These strategies are called operations. The development of operations, in turn, leads to the development of mental structures, or schemata. Schemata are memories, thoughts, and understandings gained by the child through experience. For instance, Alice may have a schema for understanding birds. In Piaget’s developmental theory, Alice may have a schema for birds that consists of her pet parakeet. As Alice grows even older, her schema may change to “animal with feathers, some that fly and some that don’t.”Another common use of schemata in the classroom is for solving problems. Academically, a schema can be as elementary as a preschooler reaching for a ball or as complex as a secondary student conjugating verbs or solving algebraic equations.Striving for Equilibrium 平衡The development of schemata involves another important Piagetian concept, equilibrium, which Piaget maintained was very important to cognitive growth. Equilibrium is the process of maintaining balance or an understanding of the environment with current schemata. Most of us are comfortable with some order in our lives. We have general routines we follow to get up, get to work or school, have meals, study, and so forth. Although spontaneous and unique experiences are important in life, Piaget maintained that people, especially children, have an innate need to maintain a sense of order and predictability in their lives. Piaget labeled this need striving, or the drive for equilibrium. When the current schemata are inadequate, or unclear to the individual, disequilibrium occurs and some changes must be made in the schemata. Equilibrium is an evolving state because there is always a better equilibrium. You may encounter an unfamiliar word as you are reading this chapter and experience disequilibrium. You achieve equilibrium by finding the definition of the word, but the next day you may experience disequilibrium again when you hear the same word used in an entirely different context. Piaget indicated that disequilibrium results in motivation to learn and to acquire methods of handling disequilibrium.Adaptation Through Assimilation and AccommodationAchieving equilibrium is not always an easy task. It occurs through a process that Piaget referred to as adaptation. Adaptation consists of either changing a response to the environment or changing the schemata to reconcile the environment and one’s current schemata. Disequilibriumprompts people to adapt, and adaptation results in establishing a state of equilibrium. There are two types of adaptation, assimilation and accommodation. In a child, assimilation occurs when her current schemata influence her responses to new experiences. For example, Anna may have a schema for horses that consists of “large, four-legged animals,” but she doesn’t have one for elephants. When seeing an elephant for the first time, she assimilates this experience into her schema for horses and calls the elephant a “horse.”Accommodation alters schemata. If Anna develops a new schema for elephants, perhaps one for “large, four-legged animals with trunks,” accommodation takes place. While developing a schema for elephants, she may also change her schema for horses to “large, four-legged animals that do not have trunks.” The true test might come when Anna experiences a duckbill platypus for the first time.Piaget used the key concepts of operations, schemata, equilibrium, adaptation, assimilation, and accommodation to discuss how children move from one stage of cognitive development to the next. However, it is important to remember that other factors influence cognitive development, including social interaction, learning, and maturation.Social Interaction and Learning: Lev S. VygotskyVygotsky offered an expanded view of the role of social and cultural influences on the cognitive development of children. Although Vygotsky’s work has not had so much impact on education and psychology as Piaget’s, recently his work has been recognized and acclaimed. Although Vygotsky was influenced by Piaget’s work, he maintained that culture, social institutions, and customs were the dominant factors in a child’s cognitive development, especially in the area of thought and language. The process and complexity of adaptation among children, according to Vygotsky, is influenced dramatically such factors as the home environment, peer relationships, the food they eat, the clothes they wear, and their mastery of language.Vygotsky astutely emphasized cultural factors influencing cognitive development, suggesting that the social changes that affect children are indeed important when considering their cognitive functioning. Alice maybe modify her schema for birds, or Anna hers of an elephant, but this learning process can be altered dramatically by Alice or any child experiencing the trauma of a parental divorce, rejection by parents or peers, or sometimes just the process of moving to another home and/or school environment.Student Proximal DevelopmentThe instructional process Vygotsky stressed emphasized teacher cooperation, teachers supporting their students, and the language development of students. According to Vygotsky, students have a zone of proximal development. He defined this zone as the degree or amount students can and have learned on their own compared with what they have the potential to learn with assistance from an adult or teacher --- “the distance between the actual development level as determined by independent problem solving and the level of potential development asdetermined through problem solving under adult guidance and under the direction of more capable peers”. A fourth-grade student may be proficient in the basics of math but also has the capability of mastering logarithms, percentages, and fractions with the help of his or her teacher.According to Vygotsky, “What the child can do in cooperation today he can do alone tomorrow.”Therefore, good instruction marches ahead of development and leads it; “instruction must be oriented toward the future, not the past”.However, the classroom applications of Vygotsky’s concepts are limited by lack of definition and detail. How much assistance, for example, should a teacher or adult provide students to process in their zone of proximal development? Does the environment impact both independent student learning and teacher-facilitated learning? These questions can be partially answered by the rate of development of individual students.MaturationA child’s ability to learn and socially interact, regardless of assistance or help from adults, peers, or teachers, is tempered by the child’s rate of maturation. Maturation in children is defined as physiological changes that result from heredity and minimal nutrition but that do not appear to require learning or exercise. Maturation is also defined as a gradual, orderly unfolding or developing of human behavior as a result of heredity.A Case StudyMs. Frye’s 11th-grade Advanced Social Studies class was having a heated discussion on the Middle East. Pam was arguing that the Western world had no business in the area, Ali was trying to convey the importance of religion to the people of the Middle East, and Jamal was disagreeing with everybody. Finally, Richard announced, “Hey, if we need the oil we should go and take it. We are the biggest and strongest. We outnumber them 10 to 1….” Several of the students moaned, and Pam was livid in disagreeing.Ms. Frye tolerated the chaos briefly then called the class to order. She had been waiting for this opportunity because a recent teacher workshop on “enhancing the cognitive functioning of students”had provided her with some good ideas. “O.K., our discussion has raised several interesting points and quite a bit of disagreement. I think it is now time for a quiz covering the Middle East topic,”she continued. Groans again eluded from the class, “We are going to do something a bit different. It is a take-home quiz, and you have one week to finish it. ”QuizAdvanced Social Studies, 11th Grade, Ms. FryeThe following is an except from the April 1990 issue of World Development Forum.1.If our world were a village of 1,000 people, what would its ethnic and religious compositionbe?2.In the village would be 564 Asians, 210 Europeans, 86 Africans, 80 South Americans, and 60North Americans.3.There would be 300 Christians (183 Catholics, 84 Protestants, 33 Orthodox), 175 Muslilms,128 Hindus, 55 Buddhists, 47 Animists, and 210 atheist or people without and religion.4.Of these people, 60 would control half the total income, 500 would be hungry, 600 would livein shantytowns, and 700 would be illiterate.Based on this information, you are to write a paper (about five pages) that advises the United Nations on alternatives for improving race relations throughout the world. Please use the following guidelines.1.Identify, collect, and present resource material (I suggest the library) that supports yourposition.2.You are encouraged to recommend strategies that are unique and creative.3.Think about your task of persuading UN representatives to accept your viewpoint. Rememberthat the UN is made up of world representatives representing all nations of the world.Critical ThinkingTake a moment to analyze the events that occurred in Ms. Frye’s classroom. Express your interpretation of these events by responding to the following questions:1.What evidence can you offer that suggests that this group of students is or is not matureenough to benefit from this type of activity?2.Did Ms. Frye’s quiz enhance the cognitive functioning of her students, and does thecontroversial nature of the issues increase such a possibility?3.Was Ms. Frye’s stopping the class at the peak of the discussion justifiable?4.The information sought on Ms. Frye’s quiz would undoubtedly contrast sharply with many ofthese students’ previous beliefs. How does the use of this test relate to Piaget’s theory about disequilibrium?5.What social issues are raised from activities such as the discussion held in Ms. Frye’s class?。
