必修1第四单元地震阅读课说课稿

08本2班周玉娉

Ⅰ、Analysis of teaching material

本单元话题为“地震”,主要描写了1976年唐山大地震,各项语言活动也都是围绕地震展开。Reading 部分具体描写了1976年唐山大地震的震前、震中和震后。作者详细描述了地震来临前的一些不正常的自然现象及动物的反常表现;地震的来势汹汹并在顷刻间将整座城市夷为平地;震后人们勇敢面对现实并及时实施抢救和重建工作。根据教材特点,重点培养并提高学生的阅读能力。

Ⅱ、Analysis of students

在语言能力方面,高一学生在初中英语的基础上,已具有一定的阅读能力由于对阅读技巧训练不足,抓住重点概括段落大意,要点方面还有待提高。并且在学生的学习兴趣方面,学生对地震较为熟悉,对唐山大地震有一定的了解,对地震的基本常识颇感兴趣。

Ⅲ、Teaching aims

Knowledge aims:

1. Get the students to learn the following useful new words and important sentences, and expressions in this passage: shake, well, rise, burst, injure, destroy, useless

(1). It seemed that the world was at an end!

3. Get the students to know basic knowledge about natural disasters.

Ability aims:

1. Develop the students reading ability and let them learn different reading skills.

2. Train the students’ ability to collect useful information from the Internet by themselves.

Emotional aims:

Get the students know damages earthquakes bring about and the ways to reduce losses of earthquakes. And know how to protect oneself and help others in earthquakes.

Ⅳ、Key and Difficult points

Learn to use different reading skills according to the style of the passage and the reading purposes.

Ⅴ、Teaching and studying method

1. 任务型教学:通过“任务型”活动培养学生“跳读”、“寻读”、“定位”、“推理归纳”等阅读方法以及描述、讨论等组织语言、运用语言的能力。

2. 主动学习法:举出例子,提出问题,让学生在获得感性认识的同时,教师层层深入,启发学生积极思维,主动探索知识,培养学生思维想象综合能力。

Ⅶ、Teaching procedure

Step 1 Lead-in

1. Show students some pictures about Wenchuan earthquake and Tangshan earthquake, then ask them 3 questions:

(1) What do you think of when you see the data?

(2) Do you know another big earthquake happened in China?

(3) How much do you know about Tangshan earthquake?

2. Review new words:shake, well, rise, burst, injure, destroy, useless, shock, quake, rescue, electricity, disaster, bury, at an end, in ruins

设计意图:有图片展示,及复习新单词而引入课文,并且有益于学生更好的阅读课文。

Step 2 Skimming

Sum up the main idea of each part of the passage.

设计意图:让学生用自己的话概括总结段落大意,诣在培养学生的概括能力和语言输出能力。

Step 3 Careful Reading

Task One Read Part1 carefully and find out the proper information about signs before Earthquake.

Task Two Read Part2 to Part3 carefully first, make a timeline and then fill in the blanks.

Task Three Read Part2 to Part3 carefully again, find some important sentences and choose the best answer about the number information.

For example: (1). 2/3 of the people died or were injured during the earthquake.

(2).1/3 of the nation felt the earthquake.

(3) In 15 terrible seconds a large city lay in ruins.

设计意图:帮助学生了解以时间为顺序的新闻报道类文章,并进一步掌握文章细节,训练学生准确寻找信息的能力。

Step 4.Listening

Listen to the tape, pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.

设计意图:训练学生的听力能力,并借此矫正发音。

Step 5 Discussion and game

1. Question: What should we do to protect ourselves if an earthquake happened?.

For example: 1、Don’t be nervous and keep calm. Don’t try to run out of the classroom.

2、Protect your head by putting your bag on your head

设计意图:教会学生自地震时进行自救和救他人的基本常识,说明生命是最宝贵的,求生安全第一,钱财乃身外之物。

Step 6.Homework

1. Find more news reports about earthquake, and read it the next class.

2. Write a piece of news about Tangshan, using the information in the passage.

设计意图:1 补充一篇唐山大地震的阅读材料,在拓宽学生知识面的同时,使学生能进一步巩固提高阅读能力及解题能力。 2. 写一篇有关唐山的新闻,一则有利于提高学生的写作能力,同时为第二天的写作课作准备。
