(1)which 引导的一个定语从句,修饰其先行词custom ,在这个定语从句中,which 作主语,when 引导的一个状语从句,修饰动词take place.(2)take place.发生,举行(不及物动词)如:这件事是什么时候发生的?When did the thing take place?这个故事发生在很久很久以前。

This story took place long long ago.2. Then each graduate will receive a piece of paper called a diploma . It shows that the student has successfully completed a course or has passed an examination.到那时每位毕业生都将收到被称为毕业文凭的一张纸,它表明学生已经成功地完成了学科或通过了考试。

(1)each graduate.g r a d u a t e 动词:毕业名词:毕业生⎧⎨⎩each +单数名词,表示每一个……,作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。

如:每个学生都有自己的兴趣爱好。

Each student has his own hobby.每个孩子在新年中都收到了一份礼物。

Each child receives a present during the new year.(2)called diploma 作后置定语,修饰前面的名词paper.It shows...中的it 为形式主语,真正的主语是后面that 引导的主语从句。

如:它表明了我们已经赢得这场比赛。

It shows that we have won the game.3. The graduation ceremony is exciting because it marks the end of a period in a student’s school life.毕业典礼是令人激动的,因为它标志着一个学生学校生活的结束。

mark the end of...标志……的结束如:这场大雪标志着秋天的结束。

The heavy snow marks the end of autumn.4. It is also sad, because the time they spent with friends will come to an end.它也是伤感的,因为与朋友相处的时间将要结束了。

hope 希望,祝愿,表达相信是能办到的事情。

wish 希望,期望,可用在不可能实现的愿望上。

hope to do sth that 引导的宾语从句⎧⎨⎩ w i s h to do sth that sb to do sth 引导的宾语从句形名+⎧⎨⎪⎩⎪//如:我希望到月球上去。

(难以实现的,只能用wish )I wish to go to the moon.我希望成为一名教师。

(可实现的)I hope to be a teacher.我祝你生日快乐。

I hope / wish that you’ll have a happy birthday.I wish you a happy birthday.(不能用hope )Section D1. I’m sure she’ll join us any minute now.我确信她会马上和我们在一起的。

(1)be sure 确信如:我相信他一定会成功地完成这次工作。

I’m sure he will finish this work successfully.我不敢确信是否他会去北京。

I’m not sure if he’ll go to Beijing.(2)join sb 与某人在一起,join +组织。

加入……如:你能和我们在一起参观万里长城吗?Can you join us to visit the Great Wall?他去年参军了。

He joined the army last year.(3)any minute now 随时,马上我希望他能马上来学校。

I hope he will come to school any minute now.别担心,他会马上来这儿。

Don’t worry, he will come here any minute now.2. Here she comes!她来了。

倒装句,Here +动词+主语,但主语是人称代词时,为Here +主(人称代词)+动词。

如:公共汽车来了。

Here comes the bus!李老师来了。

Here comes Miss Li!他来了。

Here he comes!3. It is hard to leave because so many people wanted to say goodbye to my family.离别很难因为这么多的人想要和我的家人说再见。

(1)it为形式主语,真正的主语是其后的不定式to leave.如:把英语学好很难。

It’s very difficult to learn English well.(2)because引导的原因状语从句如:我迟到是因为我没有赶上早班车。

I was late because I didn’t catch the early bus.(3)say goodbye to sb.对……说再见。

他对我说再见就离开了学校。

He said goodbye to me and then left the school.4. I’m sad to be here watching you all head back home.我在这里看着你们回家真伤心。

(1)watching you all head back home.是现在分词短语,表伴随动作。

如:他坐在那儿看着四周的事情。

He sat over there watching everything around him.(2)head back home朝回家的路走。

head朝,head for朝某个方向行进,前往。

如:这趟船正开往日本。

The ship was heading for Japan.他正朝回家的路走去。

He is heading back home.5. Michael, I know you don’t like to write a lot, but you must promise to send e-mails to us often.迈克,我知道你不太喜欢写信,但你一定要答应经常给我们发邮件。

promise to do sth.答应做某事他答应从今以后努力学习。

He promised to study hard from now on.promise + that引导的宾语从句他答应他从今以后努力学习。
