Ready used materials for attributive clauseDefinitions: Attributive clause: An attributive clause is a clause modifying a noun or pronoun in a compound sentence.Antecedent: The word being modified by an attributive clause is called the antecedent. Relative: The word that is used to introduce an attributive clause is called a relative. There are two kinds of relatives, i.e. relative pronouns including which, that, who, whom, whose, as, etc. and relative adverbs including where, when and why, etc. Note: Relatives plays three important roles in an attributive clause, i.e. introducing an attributive clause, replacing the antecedent in meaning, and functioning as a sentence element in the attributive clause.e.g.: The girl who is talking to Mr. Li over there is my sister.In the sentence, The girl is the antecedent and who is used to introduce the attributive clause as the antecedent is a person. It (who) refers to the girl and functions as the subject in the attributive clause.The choice of the relatives is the most difficult in learning the attributive clause. However, there are some rules that can help us choose the correct relatives. Usually, which relative to choose depends on what the antecedent is and what sentence elementclauses.If a relative functions as the object of a preposition in the attributive clause, the preposition can usually be placed before the relative. In this situation, we use “which” for things and “whom” for people, and they can never be omitted. However, if the preposition and a verb form a set phrase in the attributive clause, they should not be separated:The school (which/ that) he once studied in is very famous. The school in which he once studied is very famous.This is the girl (who/ whom) I went to the Great Wall with. Unit5 语言点复习课名师教学设计教学设计学段:高中学科:英语一、整体设计思路,理论指导依据:Lewis提出,语言是由各种类型的词块组成的语料库,词块的不同组合就构成句子进而组成连贯的篇章。

运用词块理论来指导高中英语词汇教学,可以使语言易于习得,易于记忆,易于使用。

作为一节词汇复习课,本课尝试运用词块复习的形式进行教学,帮助学生把握重点,巩固知识,并能熟练使用之前所学内容。

本节课一共分为两大部分:词汇复习和词汇运用。

在词汇复习部分也分为两部分:Mandela生平回顾,在练习知识点的同时,使学生再次感受伟人为争取自由平等不懈努力的奋斗精神;课本内容Elias’ story的复现,让学生重视课本,明白词汇复习不能脱离课文。

词汇运用部分以翻译句子和写作的方式进行语言输出,让学生正确使用本单元知识点。

二、学情分析:这是一节高三课本基础知识复习课,学生在高一学的本单元内容,对课文及相关人物事迹印象已经比较模糊了,对于相关的词汇的使用虽然有一定的掌握但也不能保证全部正确。

为了提高课堂教学效果,授课人安排学生在课前进行了如下准备:1、用一节早自习的时间朗读课后单词四遍并朗读大小课文三遍;2、要求学生课前背诵以下重点句:① A great person is someone who devotes his life to helping others.② He fought for black people and was in prison for almost thirty years.③ He was generous with his time, for which I was grateful.④ Only then did we decide to answer with violence with violence.⑤ Why did Nelson Mandela turn to violence to make white and black people equal?此外,学生素质不错,能够积极配合老师的课堂教学。

Unit 5·句型&语法点专项复习经典句式1. 句型公式: 现在分词(短语)作结果状语Over the years, the system developed into different forms, as it was a time when people were divided geographically, leading to many varieties of dialects and characters.多年来,这套体系发展出不同的形式,这是因为当时的地域割据使多种方言和文字得以产生。

现在分词(短语)作结果状语时,放在句末,常用逗号和前面隔开,表示自然而然的结果,其逻辑主语可以是句子的主语,也可以是前面的整个句子,其与逻辑主语为主动关系。

现在分词(短语)前可加副词thus。

【翻译句子】The hospital has recently obtained new equipment, allowing more patients to be treated.The car was caught in a traffic jam, thus causing the delay.动词不定式(短语)作结果状语时常常表示出乎意料的结果,且经常在不定式(短语)前加only或never,用来强调惊讶或失望。
