[金点1] What can I do for you, madam? 女士,我能帮你什么忙吗?
此句与Can I help you? May I help you? 句意相同。

使用X围较广,在不同的场合句意不同:在商店或书店里,售货员询问顾客“你要买什么东西?”;在饭店里,服务员询问顾客“你要点什么菜?”;在图书馆里,图书管理员询问“你要借什么书刊?”。

如:——What can I do for you? 你要喝什么?
——I want a glass of juice. 我想来杯果汁。

——Can I help you? 你吃什么菜?
——I’d like some chicken. 我想来点鸡肉。

[金点2] How much is it? 多少钱?
(1)how much用来询问价钱,意为“多少钱”。

句子里的be动词要取决于后面的名词,名词为单数或不可数时用is,为复数时用are,如:
——How much are the books? 这些书多少钱?
——They are 29 yuan. 29元。

[拓展]询问价钱还可用下面句型:
What’s the price of …? 如:
——What’s the price of the jacket? 这件夹克衫多少钱?
——It’s 100 yuan. 100元。

(2)how much还常用来提问不可数名词的数量。

如:
——How much milk do you want? 你要多少牛奶?
——I want a glass of milk. 我要一杯牛奶。

[金点3] Why not try on that pair? 为什么不试穿一下那条呢?
(1)Why not …? 表示建议的句型,意为“为什么不……?”,它后面常常接动词原形。

同时,why not …? 相当于why don’t you … ? 如:
Why don’t you try on that dress? =Why not try on that dress?
为什么不试穿那件连衣裙呢?
(2)try on试穿,试戴
on在此处为副词,其短语后的宾语为代词it/ them时,应放在二者之间,如:try it/ them on; 但如果宾语为名词时,它可以放在短语之间,也可以放在短语后面。

如:These shoes are good. You can try them on. 这些鞋很好,你可以试穿一下。

Try on these shoes. =Try these shoes on. 试试这些鞋。

[]How/ What about …? 也是表示提建议的句型。

what about …? 用来引起一个问句,表示建议,征求意见或询问消息。

意为“……好不好?”“……怎么样?”,后面接名词或代词;接动词时,动词要加-ing。

如:Your father is a worker, what about your mother?
你父亲是工人,那么你母亲呢?
What about playing games? 玩游戏怎么样?

——Thanks all the same. 仍然谢谢你。

how many常用来提问事物的数量,后面应接可数名词的复数形式。

如:
——How many students can you see in the picture?
你能看到图片上有多少名学生?
——I can see only one. 我只能看到一个。

在日常生活中,该句可用于购物时善意的提醒,相当于问“您还需要点其他东西吗?”
在日常交谈中,该句可用于提醒对方“您说完了吗?就这些吗?”答语可以说That’s all. Thanks. “我的话就这些,谢谢。

”如:
——Is that all, sir? 先生,就这些吗?
——No. And two kilos of apples, please. 不。

还要2公斤苹果。

(1)相当于Is that everything? 如:
——What can I do for you? 需要些什么吗?
——Two bags of milk, three kilos of apples and some bread. 两袋牛奶、三公斤苹果和一些砚。

——Is that everything? 就这些吗?
——I think so. 我想就这些吗?
(2)That’s all for today. 今天就到这儿。

[金点8]Here it is. 给你。

当把东西递给别人时,常用的句子是“Here you are.”“Here are …”或“Here it is.”如:Here are your apples. 这是您的苹果。

Here is a book for you. 这是您的一本书。

另外,Here it is. 还可以用来表示寻找某物并找到了。

如:
——Where is my bag? 我的包在哪?
——Here it is. 它在这儿。

[金点9]Don’t worry. 别担心。

(1)worry v. 担心,着急
(2)这是一个表示否定意义的祈使句。

在谓语动词前直接加don’t,表示劝告、命令对方不要做某事。

如:
Don’t draw on the wall. 别在墙上乱画。

Don’t do it like that. 千万别那样做。

[金点10] How about some bread? 你想要点面包吗?
some和any意思都是“一些”。

具体用法如下:
(1)some一般用于肯定句中,修饰不可数名词和可数名词的复数。

如:
There is some milk in the glass. 杯子里有一些牛奶。

(2)any一般用于否定句和疑问句中,通常也修饰不可数名词和可数名词的复数。

如:Do you have any friends here? 你在这里有朋友吗?
(3)some有时也用于疑问句中,但一般表示征求对方意见并希望得到肯定的回答。

如:Why not have some milk? 为什么不喝点牛奶呢?

巧学妙记:
巧记基数词
基数词,有规律,
零至十二词各异,
一个一个单独记,
后面加teen变十几,
thirteen, fifteen看仔细,
eighteen只有一个t,
二十到九十后加ty/ti/,
twenty不同重点记。

forty剜去字母u,
thirty, fifty更出奇。

十位数后个位数,
表示数词几十几。

按序排列不费力,
连字符号莫丢弃。

hundred是你的好成绩。

[说明]第4行,意指13—19以-teen结尾,如six + teen=sixteen;第5行,意指13、15有变化,three→thirteen, five→fifteen;第6行,意指虽然eight + teen,但是eighteen少了一个t;第7行意指20—90的整数皆以-ty结尾。

如:seven + ty = seventy;第9行,four + ty = forty,少了一个字母,也可联想记忆为“四十无忧(u)”。
