Unit 3: My Dream Trip
I have a dream to take a trip to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. It is one of the most fascinating places on Earth. I imagine swimming in crystal-clear waters amongst colorful fish and coral.
Firstly, I would start my dream trip by flying to Cairns, a city in Queensland, Australia. From there, I would take a boat to reach the Great Barrier Reef. On the boat, I would be filled with excitement and anticipation.
When I arrive at the reef, I would put on my snorkeling gear and jump into the water. The underwater world would be like a magical kingdom, with vibrant corals and countless
fish species swimming all around me. I would be careful not to touch anything, as I know the corals are fragile.
During my exploration, I would encounter various sea creatures, such as clownfish, sea turtles, and even dolphins. The beauty of these creatures would leave me in awe. I would capture the mesmerizing moments with an underwater camera, so I can relive them later.
Besides snorkeling, I would also love to try scuba diving. The colorful reefs would be even more stunning from a deeper perspective. I imagine diving alongside sea turtles and exploring hidden caves in the reef.
In the evening, I would relax on the boat and watch the breathtaking sunset over the horizon. The magnificent colors dancing in the sky would be a sight to behold. I would feel lucky to witness such natural wonders.
My dream trip to the Great Barrier Reef would be an unforgettable adventure. It would not only allow me to appreciate the beauty of nature but also teach me the importance of preserving our environment. I hope one day my
dream comes true and I get to experience this magical place firsthand.
Unit 4: My Favorite Festival
My favorite festival is Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival. It is the most important traditional
festival in China, and I always look forward to celebrating it with my family.
The festival usually falls in late January or early February. Before the festival, my family and I clean our house thoroughly to sweep away bad luck. We also decorate our home with red paper lanterns, couplets, and paper cuttings, which symbolize good fortune and happiness.
On the eve of Chinese New Year, my family and I gather to have a big reunion dinner. We feast on delicious traditional dishes, such as dumplings, fish, and rice cake. It is a joyous time to enjoy our favorite food and cherish the company of our loved ones.
During the festival, we also exchange red envelopes containing lucky money. It is believed to bring good luck and blessings for the coming year. I always feel excited when receiving these red envelopes from my elders.
Another highlight of Chinese New Year is the lion dance and firecrackers. The lion dance is performed by dancers wearing colorful lion costumes, while firecrackers are set
off to ward off evil spirits. The lively atmosphere and the loud noise add to the festive spirit.
Besides these traditional customs, I also enjoy watching the Spring Festival Gala on TV. It is a variety show
featuring spectacular performances by famous artists. The show brings laughter and joy to everyone, and it has become an inseparable part of the festival.
Chinese New Year is a time for celebration, reflection, and love. It is a special occasion where family bonds are strengthened and traditions are cherished. I always cherish
the memories and look forward to celebrating this meaningful festival each year.。
