Story 1: The Lion and the Mouse
Once upon a time, there was a lion who was sleeping in the forest. A little mouse unintentionally ran over the lion’s nose and woke him up. The lion was about to eat the mouse when the mouse pleaded, “Please don’t eat me. I promise to repay you someday.”
The lion laughed, thinking how small and weak the mouse was. But he decided to release the mouse. Years later, the lion fell into a trap set by hunters and couldn’t break free. The little mouse heard the lion roar in pain and ran over to help. The mouse gnawed through the ropes and set the lion free. The lion was touched by the
mouse’s kindness and promised that he would never underestimate someone small and weak again.
Moral of the story: Even the smallest creatures can be helpful and capable of great things.
Story 2: The Tortoise and the Hare
In a forest, a speedy hare would often brag about his speed to the slow tortoise. One day, the tortoise challenged the hare to a race. The hare laughed and accepted the challenge, thinking it would be an easy victory.
During the race, the hare sped off, leaving the tortoise far behind. The hare
felt so confident that he decided to take a nap. Meanwhile, the tortoise kept on going, never giving up. When the hare woke up, he was surprised to see the tortoise almost at the finish line. Despite realizing his mistake and running as fast as he could, the hare was too late. The tortoise won the race.
Moral of the story: Slow and steady wins the race.
Story 3: The Three Little Pigs
Three little pigs lived in the woods. Each of them decided to build a house to live in. One made his home out of straw, another out of sticks, and the last one out of bricks. When the big, bad wolf came along, he blew down the straw and stick houses with a huff and puff. However, he could not break the brick house.
Moral of the story: Hard work and perseverance will help overcome obstacles.
Story 4: The Boy Who Cried Wolf
A shepherd boy was responsible for watching over and protecting a flock of sheep. One day, he got bored and cried out, “Wolf! Wolf!” even though there was no wolf. The villagers rushed to his aid, only to find out that it was a false alarm.
The next day, the boy again cried out to the villagers that a wolf was attacking his sheep. But when they rushed to his aid, they found that he had lied again. Eventually, a wolf actually did attack the flock, but no one believed the boy’s cries for help. The wolf killed several sheep before the boy learned the consequences of lying.
Moral of the story: Lying can ruin your reputation and make people not trust you, even when you tell the truth.
Story 5: The Giving Tree
Once there was a tree who loved a little boy. The boy would visit the tree every day to play and eat her apples. Over time, the boy grew older and stopped visiting the tree regularly. When he did come back, the tree was happy to see him and offered him her branches, trunk, and even her roots. The boy used the tree for everything he needed, from a ladder to a boat, and more.
Eventually, the boy grew old and returned to the tree as an elderly man. The tree had nothing left to offer him, but the man was happy to sit on her old stump and recall their childhood memories.
Moral of the story: Give selflessly, without expecting anything in return.
