My parents' story is one that has always fascinated me. They met in their early twenties while studying abroad in the United States. My mother was from China and my father was from the United States. They were both studying business and happened to be in the same class. At first, they didn't talk much, but as time went on, they became good friends.

One day, my father asked my mother out on a date. She was hesitant at first because she had never dated a foreigner before, but she agreed. They went to a restaurant and had a great time. From then on, they started dating and fell in love.

After they graduated, my parents decided to move to China. My father had always been fascinated by the country and wanted to learn more about its culture. My mother was

excited to show him around and introduce him to her family.

They got married in China and started a family. I was born a few years later and grew up in both China and the United States. My parents always made sure to teach me

about both cultures and languages.

Looking back, I realize how brave my parents were to take a chance on each other. They came from two different worlds and had to overcome cultural barriers, but their

love and determination helped them make it work.
