摘要：PURPOSE: To make a portable, patient-operable, automatic system with minimal assistance from a caretaker or nurse, by providing a valve means actuated by hydraulic pressure of a pump means, and an adjustable timer means to supply pressure water for a specified period of time and to discharge washwater and waste through a drain tube. CONSTITUTION: The pump circuit 50 is connected to the specula 42 with the supply tube 52, and the valve control tube 58 extends into the pressure port 60 from the outlet 52 of the pump. The drain tube 64 extends into the waste reservoir 22. Water is supplied from the pump to the valve 62 through the pressure tube 58, the water pressure is kept higher than the colon pressure as long as water is circulated in the colon, and the valve 62 is closed. When the flow rate exceeds the capacity of the colon, water flow to the supply tube 52 stops, the pressure inside the valve 62 becomes higher through the specula, the sphincter valve 62 opens as the pressure inside the pressure tube 58 lowers, and fluid in the colon is discharged to the waste reservoir 22 through the drain tube 64. The discharge is continued for a specified period of time, and this supply and drain cycles repeated until the patient stops the operation.
