16. The rising popularity of swimming hasn’t skipped by the Lake District — this beautiful national park is a hotspot for swimmers. Don’t miss these amazing swimming spots in the Lake District, perfect all year round.
Haverigg Beach
Great for dog walking, Haverigg Beach is best enjoyed at a low tide so you and your family can make the most of the available space. The beach isn’t busy in the colder months, which makes it an ideal location for a spot of swimming.

St Bees Beach
This sand beach is a hidden diamond when it comes to striking Lake District views. St Bees Beach has two car parks available, plenty of cafes and restaurants and even a golf course!

17. Intermittent fasting (间歇性断食) is an eating plan that switches between fasting and eating on a regular schedule. Research shows that
intermittent fasting is a way to manage your weight and prevent some forms of disease. 1
In previous time, it was easier to maintain a healthy weight. There were no computers, and TV shows turned off at11 p. m.; people stopped eating because they went to bed. 2 We stay awake for longer hours to catch our favorite shows, play games and chat online. We’re sitting and snacking all day and most of the night.
Intermittent fasting is all about when we eat instead of what we eat. With intermittent fasting, you only eat during a specific time. Y ou can fast for a certain number of hours each day or eat just one meal a couple days a week. 3 Scientific evidence points to some health benefits, as well.
These include a longer life, a leaner body and a sharper mind.
4 For instance, you may choose to try 16/8 mode: eating for eight hours and staying hungry for16 hours. Another, known as the 5:2
approach, involves eating regularly five days a week. For the other two days, you limit yourself to one 500-600 calorie meal. But longer periods without food are not necessary. Going too long without eating might actually encourage your body to start storing more fat in response to starvation.
Intermittent fasting is safe for many people, but it’s not for everyone. Skipping meals isn’t the best way to manage your weight if you’re pregnant. 5 Talk to your doctor if you start experiencing unusual anxiety, headaches, or other symptoms after you start intermittent fasting.
A.Overweight people benefit most.
B.It can be a lifestyle change with benefits.
C.Health benefits arise in intermittent fasting.
D.You can pick either a daily or a weekly approach.
E.Nowadays, TV and other entertainment are available 24/7.
F.Doing so can help burn body fat little by little without being noticed.
G.Remember to check with your doctor before starting intermittent fasting.

The setup of the two friends’ agricultural business is 1 (usual). Their farm sits next to a gas station, inside a shipping container where the plants grow on vertically(垂直地) arranged shelves. Their operation is Malaysia-based and fresh produce 2 (sell) directly to consumers in ways that bypass grocery stores, which differs 3 the conventional business model.
Apart from the gas station, the shipping container’s other 4 (neighbor) are a golf course and an oil palm plantation. Inside, there are tightly packed shelves with various vegetables 5 (plant) in the liquid, not soil, and growing under LED lights. The wallpaper outside shows blue sky and clouds, 6 (bring) to mind the view of an old-fashioned farm. Its employees wear rubber gloves, surgical masks and white lab coats, 7 walk up and down in the narrow passage, as if they were in a hospital.
Mr. Sha G.P. said it was quite likely 8 he first became interested in vertical farming after he watched a film The Martian, in which an American astronaut is stranded (被滞留的) on Mars and learns to grow his own food. “Our sales 9 (double) over the past few months. After all, not many end users are willing to go back to the wet market,” said Mr. Shawn Ng. “So I think 10 whole business model will continue to
change.”。
