Our guide told us it used to be the whole university with just a few classrooms inside! Unbelievable.Then we walked through the stunning Cherry Valley. Our guide said the cherry trees were planted to celebrate an important birthday of the university. I want cherry trees like these at my school too!Next up was Moon Lake, a huge peaceful lake right in the center of campus. Lots of willows trees droop their branches into the water, making it look like a painting. I saw some geese and ducks swimming around. Apparently students can even go boating there when it's warm! We sat down for a snack by Moon Lake. The fresh air, the sound of the water,and no tall buildings around made me feel like I was in the countryside.After our break, we went to see the sculpture garden. There were real aircraft and vehicle models, interactive demos, and this crazy virtual reality section. I got to put on a headset and it felt like I was standing on the moon!Finally, we wrapped up the tour by walking through the main residential areas where all the students live. While we were there, we got to see kids heading to the cafeterias for lunch and bunches of students just hanging out, studying, playing sports and music on the quads between the buildings. It looked like a fun community to be part of.At the very end of our time on campus, the tour guides brought us back to the main gate entrance where we'd started. Beside the gate was a huge statue of the university's mascot - an armored warrior dude riding a horse. My classmates and I all took turns posing for pictures in front of it before we had to get back on our bus and head home. I told my parents I had the besttime ever and that I 100% want to go to college at Shandong University of Technology when I'm older.
