以青少年的心声为主题的征文大赛英语作文
The Voice of Youth
Hey there! My name is Jamie and I'm a 10-year-old kid from a small town. You asked to hear the voice of youth, so I'll give it to you straight from the heart. Us kids have a lot of thoughts and feelings that sometimes get overlooked by adults. But we're paying attention to the world around us and we have our own perspectives that are worth listening to.
One of the biggest things on my mind lately is the environment. It seems like every day there are more reports of animals going extinct, forests being cut down, and garbage piling up. It makes me really sad to think about all the damage we're doing to our beautiful planet. In school, we've learned about climate change and how it's caused by things like burning too much fossil fuel and factories putting out pollution. This is a huge problem that grown-ups created, but it's us kids who are going to have to live with the consequences when we're older.
I try to do my part by recycling, turning off lights when I leave a room, and asking my parents to drive less when we can walk or bike instead. But I get frustrated that so many adults don't seem to care as much as they should. Protecting the
environment should be one of our top priorities! This is the only planet we've got and we need to take better care of it. My biggest dream is that by the time I'm an adult, we'll have made a lot more progress on green energy, conservation efforts, and cleaning up the pollution. I don't want to pass on a dead planet to my own kids someday.
Another issue I think a lot about is technology and social media. On one hand, it's awesome how we can connect with people all over the world and access so much information at our fingertips. But sometimes I worry that we're all getting too addicted and replacng real interactions with virtual ones. I have friends who are always burying their faces in their phones instead of being present with the people around them. And I've seen how social media can be a platform for cyberbullying and saying mean things you'd never say to someone's face.
At the same time, technology opens up so many opportunities for learning and creativity that kids decades ago didn't have access to. I love coding and building my own apps and games. And we can collaborate on group projects with classmates in other countries! I just hope as I get older, I'll be able to find a healthy balance between the online world and the
real one. Technology is a powerful tool but we have to be careful not to let it consume us completely.
Another important issue is the increasing diversity in our world. More than ever, we're living side-by-side with people of different races, religions, cultures, abilities, and backgrounds. While this brings up some challenges around understanding and accepting each other's differences, I think it's an amazing opportunity too. The world has never been so connected and we have the chance to learn so much from people who've had different experiences than us.
At my school, we have kids from all over the world and it's awesome getting to share traditions, foods, languages, and perspectives. It makes me sad when I hear about racism, discrimination, or intolerance. We're all human beings at the end of the day, and judging others based on the color of their skin or religious beliefs just doesn't make sense to me. If we could just listen to each other with open minds and look for common ground, the world would be a much better place.
I know I'm just a kid and maybe some adults will just brush off what I'm saying. But us young people are a huge part of the population and we're going to be the ones running the world someday! So I hope grown-ups will start taking our concerns
more seriously. We're weighing in on important issues likethe environment, technology, diversity, and more because we want to make a difference. I dream of growing up in a world that's peaceful, sustainable, and accepting of all people. It's going to take work from every generation to make that happen.
I'm just one kid offering my perspective, but I know there are so many other youths out there with their own views and ideas. We need to amplify those voices! Maybe if we keep speaking out about what matters to us, the adults will start listening. The future is in our hands, so you better believe the voice of youth deserves to be heard. Thanks for giving me a chance to share my thoughts - I hope I represented my generation well. We're pretty awesome if I do say so myself!。
