One possible version,
I’m a Senior Three student. I really agree with Thomas’s idea that experiment teaching and theory teaching are equally important for any student.
For one thing, teachers can help students make a better summary and set up a full knowledge system by teaching basic things at high school. For another, experiment teaching can arouse students’interest in study. Besides, experiments can inspire students to think deeper about some problems, leading them to have a better understanding of what they have learnt.
With the purpose of develo ping students’ practical ability, I think we should combine the two and use them scientifically based on
what subject it is and what we want to learn. The theory and practice of teaching must go hand in hand.

Text 1
W: Shall I come back again?
M: Well, you should feel better in two or three days if you have the medicine. Come back and see me if you don’t feel any better three days later.
Text 2
W: Adam’s mother makes him so nervous every time he takes her to the store.
M: You are not kidding. She will tell him where to turn, how fast to go and which road to take. She is such a “back-seat driver”.
Text 3
W: Does John know the class is having a surprise party for him when he turns 21 this week?
M: No. He thinks we are giving a retirement party for the headmaster. We’ve hidden the presents from him.
Text 4
W: Why did you change your mind? Didn’t you say you would like to try the express train?
M: The first-class tickets are sold out and I can’t bear a long journey. W: I know but the weather is not good for driving. So are you going to fly there?
M: Yes, I have to.
Text 5
M: Hi, Judy. Do you want to play tennis after school at about 4:30? W: That would be fun, but I’ve got a swimming lesson. It’s usually at 5:15 but it’s half an hour earlier this afternoon. I really don’t think I’ll have the time to play tennis today.
M: OK.
Text 6
M: Hello, Mary. Why are you standing here in the cold wind?
W: I’m waiting for a bus, but the buses are very full at this time of the day.
M: Where are you going? This isn’t your way home.
W: I’m not going home now. I’m going for a walk in the park. I always like to go for a walk
before lunch.
M: Why not walk to the park from here? It isn’t very far.
W: Oh, no, Bill. It isn’t very interesting to walk through the streets;
in fact, it’s very boring. So I
always take Bus No.3.
Text 7
M: Kate, how’s the new student in your class doing?
W: The kid from Haiti? He’s having a rough time communicating since he doesn’t speak much
English. However, the other kids seem to include him pretty well. M: Our students are used to new kids who don’t speak much English since we have had so many new families from abroad move into our school district.
W: Don’t I know it! This year I have had a Vietnamese, an Ethiopian,
a Cuban and the kid from Haiti in my class. I spend a lot of time
with them after class so that they can catch up. Nevertheless, it’s really rewarding to see them progress and make friends.
Text 8
M: Hi, Jeanie. Why have you come to school an hour earlier?
W: I want to get a front row seat and review one more time before the test. Why are you here so early, Jack?
M: I get out of my car here this time every day. Y ou seem to be nervous about your lessons. Have you finished your review?
W: I’ve been studying night and day for the last week. If I don’t get an A in this class, I won’t get the support of my country. Why do you seem so calm?
M: This class is really just a review for me. I’ve been learning it for
two years. Jeanie, can you guess what the test will be like? Will it be difficult?
W: I hope not. But I’m still worried about it.
M: Well, cheer up. Hope for good luck.
W: Thanks very much indeed.

M: Hi, Green. Have you decided where to go tomorrow?
W: Yes, I’d like to go to Camden Town to shop. Would you like to go there with me?
M: Yes, I’d love to. That’s a good market. Shall we meet at Camden Town Station?
W: Ok. How are you going there?
M: By bus. It’s only three stops from my place. Well, how will you get there ?
W: I think I’ll have to take the subway. I’m at Bond Street and I’ll take the Central Line first and get off at Nottingham Court Road.
What time shall we meet tomorrow?
M: How about ten thirty?
W: Well, I think that’s a bit too late. It might be crowded by that time.
M: How about one hour earlier, say, nine thirty.
W: That will be too early. How about half an hour later?
M: See you then.

Now, back to the news. An early morning fire damaged the historic Geller House today. It destroyed the third floor of the building, but firefighters saved the first and second floor. There were only a few elderly people living in the building at the time, and they were carried out to safety. The Geller House was built in 1718, and was used as a hotel for over 150 years. George Washington stayed here in 1782. The Geller family owned the building until the 1930’s. Then they sold it to the Mills family. Five years ago, it was made into a building for the elderly. Several fire departments were called to the scene. When we asked Fire Chief Andrew Barnes how the fire started, he answered that most likely a burning cigarette caused it. Chief Barnes promised to further examine the cause.。
