The Year 2024 is Super Duper Important for Big Kids!
Hey there, friends! Are you a really big kid who is almost done with school? If so, you might be getting ready to take some really important tests to get into an even bigger school called "grad school." That's a super cool place where you can study really hard subjects and become a genius expert!
One of the biggest tests you'll need to take is called the "English Compo Exam." That's a fancy way of saying you have to write a really long essay about an interesting topic. The teachers reading your essay want to see if you can write well and have great ideas.
So what kinds of topics might be on the 2024 English Compo Exam? Let me tell you about some hot topics that could come up!
Technology is Everywhere!
You already know that phones, computers, and video games use a ton of awesome technology. But did you know that technology is taking over more and more parts of our lives? Pretty much everything we use has some kind of tech inside it now.
Cars can drive themselves using sensors and maps. Fridges can make lists of what food you need to buy. Even our clothes might have little computers woven into the fabric to track how much we move and exercise! Wild, right?
Some people think all this new tech is really cool and will make our lives easier. But others worry it could be kinda scary if it goes too far. Like, what if the robots take over?! That would be a crazy topic to write about for your English essay.
Saving Planet Earth
Another big topic on everyone's minds is how to protect our planet from pollution, climate change, and other environmental problems. The earth is our home, and we've gotta take good care of it!
There are so many ways to help out, like recycling, using renewable energy from the sun and wind, and cutting down on waste. Some people even decided to go "zero waste" which
means they don't throw anything away at all! Whoa, could you imagine living like that?
Companies and governments are working hard to find better ways to make products without hurting the earth too. Like making cars that don't need gasoline or packaging that doesn't create a bunch of trash.
Protecting nature and animals is another huge part of saving the planet. We need to make sure we don't chop down too many forests or let animals go extinct. Otherwise, the circle of life gets all messed up!
This environmental stuff is a really heavy topic, but it's one we all need to work on together. Writing about it for your big exam could be a great way to share your best ideas.
Peace, Fairness and Inclusion
Okay, this next topic is a little tough, but it's really important - how can we make the world a fair place where everyone is treated with kindness and respect? No matter what someone looks like, where they come from, or whom they love, we should all have equal rights and opportunities.
Unfortunately, throughout history there has been a lot of racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination that were
totally unfair and mean. Even today, some people still face bullying, violence, or get excluded from jobs, schools and activities they should be able to take part in.
Making the world more peaceful, equal, and welcoming for everyone is a big challenge. But imagine how wonderful it would be if we could all just get along! People are working hard to stop hate, embrace diversity, and give everyone a fair shot at living their best life.
Maybe in your English essay, you could share ideas for spreading more love, ending conflicts between nations, and bringing people together instead of pulling them apart. That would be an amazing essay for sure!
The Future is Waiting!
Phew, those are some pretty deep topics, huh? They can definitely make your brain do a whole lot of thinking. But that's a good thing! Putting lots of thought into big issues shows you're a very serious student ready to take on challenging work.
No matter which topic you choose to write about for your English Compo Exam, I know you've got this! Just take your time, let your brilliant ideas flow, and pour your heart into that essay.
The future is waiting for bright minds like yours to make the world an even better place.
Keep on studying, dreaming big, and rocking those big kid brains! I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines as you become one of the smartest grown-ups around. Go get 'em, superstar!

The Big Test for Grown-Up Students (2024 Doctoral Entrance Exam English Essay Hot Topics)
Hi there! My name is Tommy and I'm going to tell you about some super important topics that big kids studying to become doctors have to write about for a huge test this year. Get ready, because these topics are really interesting!
First up, we have something called "The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence." Can you believe robots might start thinking for themselves one day? Some big brain adults are worried that super smart robots could go bad and hurt people. Others think robots that can learn are going to help make the world a better place. If I had to write about this topic, I would say robots are cool as long as they listen to their human masters!
Next, there's "Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability." Our planet Earth is getting hotter and the weather is going crazy! The ice at the North and South Poles is melting, and animals like polar bears are losing their homes. Big factories make too much smoke that goes into the sky and traps heat. It's a huge mess! If I was an animal, I would definitely want the grown-ups to fix this climate change problem quickly.
Another hot topic is "Genetic Engineering and Ethical Concerns." Basically, scientists can now change the building blocks that make up every living thing, including plants, animals, and even people! They can mix and match genes to create new species or make existing ones stronger, smarter, and healthier. Pretty crazy, right? Some adults think this is awesome, but others are skeptical about "playing God." If you ask me, I trust scientists to only use their powers for good!
Get ready for a long one: "Geopolitical Tensions and the Threat of Conflict in the 21st Century." That's a mouthful, I

The Big Test for Becoming a Super Smart PhD Student in 2024
Hi there! My name is Tommy, and I'm a 4th grader who loves learning about science, math, and pretty much any topic I can read about. I have some older friends who are getting ready to take a very important test to try to get into PhD programs next year. A PhD is kind of like being a super genius student who does lots of amazing research projects to discover new things. Pretty cool, right?
My friends have been studying really hard for the test they have to take to get into the best PhD programs in 2024. One big part of the test is writing an essay on a special topic they give you. The essay topics can be about all kinds of different subjects like science, technology, history, or global issues. I asked my friends to tell me some of the potential essay prompts they might have to write about, and here are a few that sounded fascinating to me:
Genetic Engineering of Crops
This topic is all about using science to modify the genes and DNA of plants like crops we eat. Scientists can give crops new traits to make them grow better, resist diseases, or provide more nutrients. But some people worry that genetically engineered crops could also have risks we don't know about yet. An essay on
this topic might ask whether you think genetic engineering of food is a good idea or not.
Artificial Intelligence and Job Automation
Artificial intelligence, or AI for short, is technology that allows computers and robots to do tasks that normally only humans could do before, like driving cars or answering questions.
A lot of jobs that people do now might one day be taken over by AI machines instead. An essay could ask how you think increasing AI automation will impact the job market and workforce in the future. It's a very interesting question to think about!
Climate Change Solutions
Everybody has probably heard about climate change and how it is making the Earth get warmer over time. Things like burning fossil fuels release gases that trap heat in our atmosphere. This causes more extreme weather, rising sea levels that could flood coastal cities, and melting polar ice caps. For an essay, you might get asked what ideas you have for solving the climate change problem before it gets even worse. Using more renewable energy sources like solar or wind power could help a lot.
Access to Education Worldwide
In some parts of the world, there are still millions of children who don't get to go to school at all or only go for a few years. Not having an education makes it really hard to get good jobs when you grow up. An essay question could ask how we can increase access to quality education for all kids around the globe. Having teachers, schools, books and technology available everywhere would help a ton.
Those are just a few examples of potential essay topics my friends might have to write about on the big test next year. There are probably a zillion other subjects they could get too. The test graders will be looking at how well the students can make a good argument by stating a clear opinion, explaining their reasoning, using evidence to support their views, and wrapping it up with a solid conclusion. It's not easy to write a perfect essay in just an hour or so!
My friends have been practicing writing essays on all sorts of different topics to get ready. They have color coded notecards and folders filled with facts, statistics and expert opinions to use in their essays. I've even helped them do some practice essays just for fun. Writing is one of my favorite subjects in school and
I'm always happy when an assignment lets me tap into my creativity and imagination.
One friend asked me to pretend the essay question was: "Should all kids be required to learn coding and computer programming in school from an early age?" That's such an interesting idea! In my practice essay, I argued that yes, I do think it would be really beneficial and important for all students to get coding exposure starting as early as kindergarten. Here are some of the key points I made:
Coding and computer skills are super crucial in today's tech-focused world for almost any future career path. The sooner kids can start learning those skills, the better prepared they'll be. It will be easier for their developing brains to pick it up at a young age, just like learning languages or music.
Coding also helps kids boost their abilities in logic, problem-solving, creativity, and step-by-step thinking, which are helpful skills for any subject area. It can make learning math, science, writing and other subjects more fun too by relating it to video games, apps and websites kids love.
Having coding be part of every school's required curriculum would also help give equal opportunities and access to this important skill for kids of all backgrounds, not just kids from
wealthy families or good school districts. It could open up more future career paths in well-paying technology jobs.
Those were just a few of the reasons I gave for why coding is such an essential 21st century skill that should be taught in all schools to students of all ages. My friend said I made some really persuasive points and that she was impressed with the examples and logic I used. She gave me her practice essay to read too and I thought she did an awesome job as well.
I'm honestly kind of jealous that my older friends get to write all these cool, thought-provoking essays as part of their tests for getting into PhD programs next year. It sounds like an amazing opportunity to showcase your brightest ideas while also learning a ton about important, real-world topics in the process. I've got a few more years before I'll be that stage, but you can bet I'll be studying my tail off too. A guy can dream about becoming Dr. Tommy the super scientist someday, right? Okay, I better get back to working on my fractions homework now. Catch you later!

That means you'll be writing a really important essay as part of your application. Don't worry, I'm here to tell you all about some super interesting topics you might get to write about!
One topic that has been really popular lately is the environment and climate change. We all know how important it is to take care of our planet Earth. Your essay might ask you to talk about ways we can reduce pollution or save energy. You could write about recycling, using renewable energy like solar or wind power, or protecting animals and their habitats. It's such an important issue that affects everyone!
Another big topic is technology. Isn't it crazy how much computers, smartphones, and the internet have changed our lives? In your essay, you may need to discuss both the positive and negative impacts of technology. On the plus side, we can now communicate instantly with people all over the world and have access to so much information. But there are also risks like cyber bullying, privacy concerns, and people spending too much time staring at screens. What do you think the future of technology will be like?
A third possible essay topic is globalization. Our world is becoming more and more interconnected, with people, goods, and ideas traveling across borders. You could explore the benefits of globalization, like increased cooperation between nations and new opportunities for cultural exchange. But you'd also want to look at downsides such as jobs moving overseas and traditions being lost as cultures blend together. It's a fascinating and complex topic!
Some other hot topics that could show up include social media, artificial intelligence, genetic engineering, space exploration, and gender equality. No matter what you're asked to write about, the key things are to: 1) Explain the issue clearly, 2) Discuss multiple perspectives on it, 3) Support your points with solid facts and examples, and 4) Have a clear conclusion with your own thoughts.
Writing a great essay takes a lot of hard work and practice. But I know you can do it! Just take your time to understand the prompt, make an outline, write a few drafts, and make sure everything flows logically. Use lots of vivid details and vocabulary words to impress the readers. Don't be afraid to revise and polish your work until it shines. You've got this!
I hope these topic previews get you feeling excited and prepared for your big English essay moment. Just think about the amazing opportunities that could open up for you if you get into your dream doctoral program. The future is filled with possibilities! Put in your best effort, and you'll be well on your way. Good luck!

2024 English Exam Hot Topics for Getting Into PhD School
Hi everyone! My name is Sophie and I'm going to tell you all about the hot topics that might be on the English part of the test for getting into PhD school next year. PhD is super hard so you have to do really well on this test. But don't worry, I'll explain everything simply so it's easy to understand!
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
AI is really hot right now! AI means computer programs that can think and learn kind of like humans. Examples are ChatGPT, Alexa, and self-driving cars. On the test, you might have to write about whether AI is good or bad for the world. Some people think AI will take everyone's jobs, but others think it will create new cool jobs. You could talk about rules we need for AI to keep people safe too.
Climate Change
Climate change is another major hot topic. It means the Earth is getting warmer due to human activities like driving cars and factories. This causes problems like rising sea levels, extreme weather, and animals going extinct. On the test, you may need to discuss solutions for climate change. Some ideas are using renewable energy like solar and wind instead of fossil fuels, planting more trees, and people making greener choices in daily life.
Global Health Crises
After the COVID-19 pandemic a few years ago, global health is an important issue. You might get a question about how to prevent and manage future pandemics and health emergencies worldwide. Good points could be about funding medical research, improving healthcare access, and having plans to coordinate across countries during a crisis.
Social Justice Movements
Movements like Black Lives Matter, MeToo, and standing up for LGBTQ+ rights have been really big recently. If this topic comes up, you could discuss discrimination and inequality people face due to their race, gender, sexuality etc. And how to
promote more equality, inclusion and respect for everyone's human rights.
Technology and Privacy
With all the new tech these days, there are debates around privacy and data protection. Companies collect a ton of personal data from our online activities. You may need to write about balancing privacy rights versus benefits of data sharing. Like is

2024 Grad School Test Essay Hot Topics
Hi everyone! My name is Tommy and I'm a 4th grader. My big sister Emma is taking the big test to get into grad school next year. She's been really stressed about it, studying all the time. I asked her what kind of stuff is on the test and she said one of the biggest parts is writing an essay. That's a drag! Who wants to write a huge essay? Not me!
Anyway, my sister told me some of the hot topics that might come up on the essay part of the test. I figure I'll share them with you in case any of you are taking the grad school test next year too. Here are some of the juicy topics my sister thinks could be essay questions:
Technology Taking Over Jobs
This one is pretty scary if you ask me. With all the robots and computers nowadays, there's a chance they might take over everybody's jobs! Can you imagine getting fired from your job as a cashier at the grocery store and getting replaced by a robot? No more saying "Hey Tommy, how's it going? Did you finish your math homework?" I'd miss the friendly chit-chat for sure.
My sister says some people think technology taking over jobs is great because robots never need breaks and can work 24/7. Plus they don't get paid a salary or need health insurance. But I think having robots doing everything would be pretty boring. Part of the fun of going places is interacting with real people, you know? I mean, would you want to go to a restaurant staffed entirely by robots? No way!
Climate Change and Environment
This is another big topic my sister has been prepping for. She says global warming and climate change could be an essay question. That means stuff like rising temperatures, melting ice caps, more hurricanes and natural disasters, animals going extinct, and that kind of thing.
I'll be honest - I don't totally understand all of it. But I do know it's a huge problem that us humans need to try and fix before it's too late! My mom is always nagging me to take shorter showers, turn off lights when I leave a room, and recycle everything. She says we all need to try harder to take care of the planet.
Some of the kids at school don't seem to care much about climate change though. They leave lights on everywhere and throw recyclables in the trash all the time. I get frustrated when I see that happening. Don't they know there's only one Earth? We gotta take care of it!
Gap Between Rich and Poor
Another hot topic is the economic gap between rich people and poor people. My sister says the difference between how much money the richest and poorest people have is getting huger and huger. That doesn't seem quite fair to me.
I don't know anybody filthy rich, but I do know some kids at my school who get free lunches because their families don't have a lot of money. They can't afford to go on fancy vacations or have All the latest video games and toys. Meanwhile, you see some other kids bringing expensive snacks and gizmos to school
every day. It makes me feel bad for the kids who don't have as much.
I just think everybody should have enough Money to buy basic stufflike food, clothes, and a place to live. The ridiculous rich people should share some of their mountains of cash with the poor folks who can't even pay rent sometimes. That's only fair in my opinion! Luckily there are food banks, shelters, and programs to help people in need. But the big money difference is still a problem.
Fake News and Misinformation
Ohh this is a hot one for sure! My poor sister has been complaining about trying to learn all about fake news on the internet. Apparently there's a ton of misinformation out there from sources that aren't credible at all.
I don't really follow a lot of news myself yet. But I do know Mom is always saying "You can't believe everything you read online!" Whenever I try to show her some random viral video or meme, she's skeptical whether it's truthful or not. I guess she could be right that people make stuff up just for clicks and likes.
Still, it's pretty crazy how much incorrect or totally false information is floating around these days. No wonder my sister is
stressing over trying to learn how to identify trustworthy sources versus fake ones. Separating fact from fiction online is not easy! I don't envy her having to write a whole essay about that can of worms.
Well, those are some of the juicy potential topics my big sis told me about. There could be even more on the actual test day - who knows? All I can say is I'm glad I'm not tackling that monster grad school exam quite yet. Give me a nice simple book report any day!
Speaking of which, I gotta run and read that novel for my English class. It's called The Grapes of Wrath and it looks pretty snooze-worthy if you ask me. Oh well, maybe it will at least teach me some vocabulary to use when I apply for grad school...in about 10 more years! Wish me luck, and good luck to anyone prepping for those scary grad school essays. You're gonna need it!。
