The following properties which the World Heritage Committee (世界遗产委员会)has decided to include on the List of World Heritage are under threat.
Cultural Landscape and Archaeological Remains of the Bamiyan Valley (Afghanistan)
The cultural landscape and archaeological remains of the Bamiyan Valley stand for the artistic and religious developments which from the 1st to the 13th centuries characterized ancient Bakhtria. The area contains a number of Buddhist monastic ensembles, as well as strong buildings from the Islamic period.
Historic Centre of Vienna (Austria)
Vienna developed from early Celtic and Roman settlements into a Medieval and Baroque city, the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The historic centre of Vienna is rich in architectural buildings, including Baroque castles and gardens, as well as the late-19th-century Ringstrasse lined with grand buildings, monuments and parks.

“We said no to the invitation to the birthday party because my child says they're not even friends.”
When I read the above words, I felt heartache.
I know birthday parties can be like a trouble, but let's believe the parents who sent that invitation weren't trying to get more gifts for their kids or make things more complicated(复
杂的) .
For some kids, managing school and friends is easy. Maybe you have a child who's outgoing, self-confident or maybe you have a child who doesn't have any problems. However, for some kids, school and friends can be very difficult.
A birthday party is a fun, exciting and good opportunity. It is a chance for the kid on the sidelines to play with other kids who don't play with him/her at school or who don't call
him/her a friend.
Sometimes even when the birthday party and the theme have been decided on and the difficult decision about whom to invite has been made, there can still be doubts. Those invitations can stay untouched in the bottom of the child's backpack for days, because he/she is too scared to hand them out.
I don't know your child, and I don't know you. I do know there are parents who lie awake at night wondering if their child will have the courage to hand out the invitations in the morning; I do know there are parents who hope they can depend on other parents to teach their children to be kind enough to show up. Maybe you'll never have to be one of the parents who find it hard. I know what that's like, because I have children who find it easy. But I also have a child who doesn't. And because of that, we've become a family that says yes to every invitation we receive.
Sometimes a birthday party invitation is not just a birthday party invitation; it's also an invitation to be a friend.

There are many useful suggestions and pieces of advice that can help one to improve English. Here are some useful suggestions and new tips to increase one’s English language vocabulary.
Learning English vocabulary is about much more than just learning the right words. A broad grasp of vocabulary in the English language is based on understanding important expressions.
Learning a word will not help very much if you quickly forget it. Research shows that it takes from 10 to 20 repetitions to really make a word part of your vocabulary. Since most words are learned from how they are used in context, the more words one is shown, the better vocabulary one will have. Keep a piece of paper close to you. When you read, pay more attention to the word you do not know, write the word down and try to figure out its meaning from the context. Then look up the word in a dictionary.
Remember that if you do not use English words that you have just learned in conversation or writing, you will forget them very quickly. So the best way to learn new words effectively is just by trying to use them in conversation and writing. Remember also that practice is the key to fluent spoken English.
Building vocabulary is a life-long task. Remember, “In the beginning was the word.” Your future could depend on how rich your vocabulary is. It will also determine the quality of your communication.

It's a warm summer afternoon. You're cooking over a campfire. Suddenly, a few raindrops fall on your arms, and before you know it, the sky is opened up. Then you hear what sounds like thunder in the distance. What should you do? Your tent is close by and would offer shelter from the pouring rain. There's a campsite (野营地) a few minutes down the path. And then you remember that your car is parked down the road. What's your safest choice to make sure you and your families are safe?
It's a common question for many hikers and campers, especially when they're camping during summer months. Heading for your car is almost always the safest choice. Your tent and a shelter will keep you dry, but they offer little or no protection against lightning. Your car, on the other hand, will keep you dry and protect you from lightning strikes. Protecting yourself against possible lightning strikes is very important; lightning kills an average of 62 people in the US each year. If you keep all of the windows and doors closed in your car, you'll be able to return to your campsite safely.
Of course, if you're backpacking, not car camping, and if you're deep in the woods, your car won't be a good choice. So, what should you do if your car is far away and there's no other safe shelter nearby? First, you'll have to make sure that tree limbs (大树枝) or other objects don't fall on you or your campsite. Then you'll have to get in a safe position to avoid lightning, or flash flood conditions.
12、What does the passage want to tell us?
A. When to start camping.
B. How to camp safely in the woods.
C. How to survive a storm when camping.
D. Where to camp safely in summer.
13、To avoid lightning in a storm, you'd better ________.
A. go into your tent quickly
B. stay around the campfire
C. run into a campsite at once
D. get into your car
14、What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A. People should not go camping alone.
B. People should never camp deep in the woods.
C. Backpacking is not a good choice for campers.
D. Finding a shelter when camping without a car is important.
15、What can we know about camping from the passage?
A. Campers like car camping best.
B. Lightning is a danger for campers.
C. Young people like backpacking best.
D. Camping during summer months is the most popular.
