增加古诗文背诵不是负担是捷径

唐晓敏

①新修订的高中课程标准增加了古诗文的背诵篇目，由过去的14篇增加到了72篇。有声音说，这为学生增加了很大负担。其实如果概览之前的语文教育经验，背诵并不能以负担论之，反而有审美享受的作用，甚至可以算一种学习的“捷径”。

②从现代语文教育本身看，背诵篇目增加的幅度很大，但若与中国古代语文教育及民国时期的私塾教育相比，则要求背诵的篇目仍然是很少的。传统语文教育中，学子需要也能够背诵数十万字。唐宋以来，为参加科举考试，考生必须将《论语》《孟子》《书经》《仪礼》《左传》等40多万字的典籍全部精读熟背。有些人甚至背诵的更多，如顾炎武、戴震都能够将十三经全文背诵，甚至连“注”都能背诵下来。民国时期的一些学者，接受的是传统教育，他们也都有出色的背诵功夫。国学大师姜亮夫曾谈到，他在清华国学院时，同乐会上梁启超、王国维即兴表演节目是背诵古代文学作品，梁启超背诵一大段《桃花扇》，而王国维则当即背诵了《西京赋》。
