Today, most records of biodiversity are often in the form of photos, videos, and other digital records. Though they are useful for detecting shifts in the number and variety of species in an area, a new Stanford study has found that this type of record is not perfect.“With the rise of technology it is easy for people to make observation s of different species with the aid of a mobile application,” said Barnabas Daru, who is lead author of the study and assistant professor of biology in the Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences. “These observations now outnumber the primary data that comes from physical specimens(标本), and since we are increasingly using observational data to investigate how species are responding to global change, I wanted to know: Are they usable?”Using a global dataset of 1.9 billion records of plants, insects, birds, and animals, Daru and his team tested how well these data represent actual global biodiversity patterns.“We were particularly interested in exploring the aspects of sampling that tend to bias (使有偏差) data, like the greater likelihood of a citizen scientist to take a picture of a flowering plant instead of the grass right next to it,” said Daru.Their study revealed that the large number of observation-only records did not lead to better global coverage. Moreover, these data are biased and favor certain regions, time periods, and species. This makes sense because the people who get observational biodiversity data on mobile devices are often citizen scientists recording their encounters with species in areas nearby. These data are also biased toward certain species with attractive or eye-catching features. What can we do with the imperfect datasets of biodiversity?“Quite a lot,” Daru explained. “Biodiversity apps can use our study results to inform users of oversampled areas and lead them to places – and even species – that are not w ell-sampled. To improve the quality of observational data, biodiversity apps can also encourage users to have an expert confirm the identification of their uploaded image.”32. What do we know about the records of species collected now?A. They are becoming outdated.B. They are mostly in electronic form.C. They are limited in number.D. They are used for public exhibition.33. What does Daru’s study focus on?A. Threatened species.B. Physical specimens.C. Observational data.D. Mobile applications.34. What has led to the biases according to the study?A. Mistakes in data analysis.B. Poor quality of uploaded pictures.C. Improper way of sampling.D. Unreliable data collection devices.35. What is Daru’s suggestion for biodiversity apps?A. Review data from certain areas.B. Hire experts to check the records.C. Confirm the identity of the users.D. Give guidance to citizen scientists.二答案解析三专家评价考查关键能力,促进思维品质发展2024年高考英语全国卷继续加强内容和形式创新,优化试题设问角度和方式,增强试题的开放性和灵活性,引导学生进行独立思考和判断,培养逻辑思维能力、批判思维能力和创新思维能力。

evidence that people are born with tendencies to be lighter or heavier. For example, studies of identical twins have revealed great similarity in their overall weight.Part of this similarity may be explained by the finding that some people are born to burn a lot of calories just through ordinary day-to-day activities while others are not. Those who are not are more at risk for weight gain.Researchers have discovered some of the actual genetic mechanisms(机制)that maymake some individuals more likely to be obese(肥胖的).For example,a gene has been found that appears to control signals to the brain that enough fat has been stored in the body in the course of a meal—so the individual should stop eating. The gene influences the production of leptin(瘦蛋白),which keeps appetite under control. If leptin doesn’t work well,it is likely that individuals will continue to eat. Thus the gene that controls leptin appears to have a critical influence on the potential for obesity. The confirmation that leptin plays a role in weight control has encouraged researchers to identify and understand other weight-related genes.Recent attention has focused on a gene called GAD2.GAD2helps control the amount of the neurotransmitter(神经递质)GABA.In general, when more GABA is available, appetite is increased. For that reason, people who have a form of GAD2that allows more GABA to be available may be at risk for overeating. You can see that GAD2is not directly an obesity gene.Rather it has an indirect influence on obesity through its direct influence on GABA.Genetic research holds out the promise of innovative solutions to obesity.Researchers hope that an understanding of the link between genus and weight control will enable them to provide new drug treatments.Nonetheless, even the most optimistic researchers provide a warning:“Innovative drugs will be effective only when they are used along with lifestyle changes.”8.What does the author want to explain by giving the example of twins?A.It is hard to maintain a healthy weight.B.Being fat or thin is genetic ally related C.The twins are usually of similar weight.D.An individual‘body can burn calorie. 9.What can make an individual more likely to put on weight?A.Poor appetite.B.All varieties of GAD2C.Effective leptin.D.Extra amount of GABA.10.What do researchers suggest people do?A.Adopt advanced means.B.Learn more about genetic effects.C.Keep good living habits.D.Change the weight-related gene. 11.What is the text mainly about?A.How does genetics contribute to obesity?B.What impact does eating have onweight?C.How many genus determine who is obese?D.Why do many people becomeoverweight?二、完形填空三、语法填空四、单词拼写五、书信写作56.最近某眼科医院对你校学生进行了视力调查,70%以上的同学都或多或少存在视力问题。

英语作文中表达最后一条建议词语
英语作文中表达最后一条建议词语The Final Suggestion: Words to Wrap it UpHello friends! Today I want to talk about one of the trickiest parts of writing an English essay - giving that last little piece of advice or suggestion at the very end. You've worked so hard getting all your points across, and now you need a good way to nicely wrap things up before you write "The End."I used to really struggle with this part when I was just starting out with essays. I'd get to the conclusion paragraph and just kind of...stop. Like "Well, I said everything I needed to say, I guess I'm done now?" But my teachers always reminded me that a good writer doesn't just abruptly stop - they give the reader one final thought to ponder. So over the years, I've picked up some good expressions that work really well for making that last little suggestion before closing out an essay. Using the right language can make your conclusion feel much more satisfying and complete. It's like the pretty bow that gets tied around the gift box!One classic way to make a final suggestion is to use phrases like:"In conclusion...""Ultimately...""When all is said and done...""After considering all of the evidence..."These allow you to sum up your main point one last time before presenting your takeaway suggestion. For example, you could write something like:"In conclusion, while there are many factors that contributed to the event, ultimately the biggest issue was lack of proper planning and preparation."And then you'd go on to recommend having a more comprehensive plan next time.Another handy technique is using phrases that prompt the reader to take a certain action, like:"For these reasons, it is recommended that...""It would be wise to...""One should make an effort to...""We ought to..."So you could say something along the lines of:"For these reasons, it is recommended that community leaders prioritize sustainability initiatives to protect the local environment."Using the imperative form of verbs can also work well for making forceful final suggestions:"Improve parking enforcement policies.""Allocate more funding towards renewable energy sources.""Emphasize the importance of recycling through educational campaigns."When using this format, you want to keep it concise and stick to the point. Bam - there's your drops-the-mic suggestion to end on.Sometimes, you may want your last suggestion to feel more open-ended or hypothetical. In those cases, I like using phrases like:"One potential solution could be...""It may be beneficial to consider...""Perhaps we should explore the possibility of...""An alternative approach might involve..."For example: "One potential solution could be implementing a rideshare program to reduce traffic congestion and emissions." Using that softer language leaves room for discussion. And if you really want to show you're thinking big picture, you can use expressions like:"From a broader perspective...""Taking a step back...""Considering the larger context of...""With a long-term vision in mind..."Like this: "Taking a step back and considering the larger context of climate change, it is imperative that we transition rapidly towards clean, renewable energy sources." Ooh, fancy!"You could...""Your contribution could involve...""One way you can take action is...""I encourage you to..."Something like "One way you can take action is by contacting your local representatives and voicing your support for environmental protections." Straight to the point! No matter which type of expression you use, there are a few tricks to making those final suggestion words really shine:Use strong, vivid language to grab the reader's attention and make your point resonate. Words like "crucial," "fundamental," "paramount," and "imperative" show you mean business.Alternatively, you can emphasize how easy or beneficial your suggestion is using phrases like "straightforward solution," "relatively simple," "minimal effort required," or "numerous advantages to..."Lastly, it's always good to connect your final thought back to the overall thesis of your essay. Remind the reader of the key points you argued and how your concluding suggestion fits into that main idea.Phew! As you can see, there are a ton of effective expressions to choose from when making that last suggestion. The right words can take a conclusion from bland and abrupt to clear, compelling, and impactful. So next time you're wrapping up an essay, think carefully about the perfect way to give one final nudge. Send the reader off with a parting piece of wisdom that leaves them persuaded and inspired to act. Your essays will be infinitely stronger for it!。

关于最后的战斗的英语作文
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting an orange glow over the battlefield, I stood amidst the remnants of what had once been a fierce and decisive battle. The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder and the silence was deafening, save for the occasional crackle of a distant fire. This was the final battle, the culmination of years of conflict, and it had left an indelible mark on my soul.I remember the days leading up to the battle vividly. The tension was palpable as we prepared for what we knew would be a fight to the finish. Our commander, a seasoned veteran with a stern gaze, rallied us with words of courage and determination. We were a diverse group, united by a common cause and the desire to see peace restored. The night before the battle, I lay in my tent, staring at the canvas ceiling, my mind racing with thoughts of what the next day would bring. I thought of my family, of the friends I had made in the army, and of the countless lives that had been lost in the name of freedom. I prayed for strength and for the wisdom to make the right decisions when the time came.As dawn broke, we emerged from our tents, our faces set in grim determination. The morning was cold, and a thin layer of frost covered the ground. We formed our ranks, our eyes fixed on the enemy lines in the distance. The silence was broken only by the occasional command from our officers. The battle began with a deafening roar as both sides unleashed their firepower. The air was filled with the sound of gunfire, explosions, and thecries of the wounded. I fought alongside my comrades, each of us driven by the same unwavering resolve to see this through to the end.The hours blurred together as we pushed forward, inch by inch, against the enemys stubborn resistance. I saw friends fall, their faces etched with pain and determination even in their final moments. I felt a surge of anger and sadness, but I knew that I couldnt afford to let my emotions take control. I had a job to do, and I was determined to see it through. As the day wore on, the tide of the battle began to turn in our favor. The enemys lines started to falter, and we pressed our advantage, driving them back with relentless force. I could see the exhaustion on the faces of my comrades, but we refused to yield. Finally, as the sun began to set, the enemys resistance crumbled. We had won the day, but at a terrible cost. The battlefield was littered with the bodies of the fallen, their lives cut short in the pursuit of a noble cause. In the aftermath of the battle, we gathered to pay our respects to those who had given their all. We stood in silence, our heads bowed, as we honored the memory of our fallen brothers and sisters. I felt a deep sense of loss, but also a profound sense of pride in what we had accomplished. The final battle had been a test of our courage, our resolve, and our ability to stand together in the face of overwhelming adversity. It had left us scarred, but it had also made us stronger. We had fought for something greater than ourselves, and in doing so, we had forged a bond that couldnever be broken. As I stood there, looking out over the battlefield, I knew that this was the end of a chapter in our lives. The war was over, and a new era of peace and hope was beginning. But the memories of those who had fought and died would live on, a testament to the sacrifices made and the courage displayed in the face of insurmountable odds. The final battle had been more than just a physical confrontation it had been a battle of the spirit, a test of our will to survive and to fight for what we believed in. And though the scars would heal, the lessons learned would stay with us forever, a reminder of the strength of the human spirit and the power of unity in the face of adversity.。
2024昆山初三期末英语作文评分标准
2024昆山初三期末英语作文评分标准全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇12024 Kunshan Middle School Grade 9 Final English Composition Scoring CriteriaHey guys! Did you know that the big kids in 9th grade at Kunshan Middle School have to write a really important English composition for their final exam this year? It's a huge deal and the teachers are going to score it really carefully using some special criteria. My older brother is in 9th grade, so I got the inside scoop on what the scoring will be like. It's actually pretty interesting stuff! The first thing the teachers will look at is the composition's content and ideas. They want to see if the 9th graders can come up with an interesting topic and creative thoughts. Good content means exploring the topic in depth with lots of details and examples. The ideas should flow logically from one to the next in a way that makes sense. Using personal experiences and opinions to support the main ideas is also really important for getting a high score on content.Next up is organization. Basically, this means how well the whole composition is structured and put together. Awell-organized essay will have clear introductions and conclusions. The intro should grab the reader's attention and preview the main ideas. The conclusion should restate the key points and leave a lasting impression. All the body paragraphs in between need to be arranged in a logical order that is easy to follow. The third criteria is vocabulary. You know how we're always learning new vocabulary words in English class? Well, this is where the 9th graders get to show off how many cool words they know! The teachers want to see a wide range of precise and descriptive vocab used accurately throughout the composition. But watch out - using super duper hard words just for the sake of it isn't a good idea either. The vocab should fit naturally with the topic and content.Grammar is also a biggie on the scoring criteria. After all, proper grammar is what separates fluent English speakers from the rest. The teachers will check for accurate use of verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, article usage, run-on sentences and fragments, punctuation, capitalization - you name it! Too manygrammar mistakes, especially basic ones, will lose a ton of points. Proofread proofread proofread! The final criteria is about writing style and flair. This one is kind of tricky because it's more subjective compared to clear-cut grammar rules. Basically, the teachers want the compositions to be engaging to read with a distinct voice and tone. Using figurative language like metaphors and similes can spice things up. Varying the sentence structures and openers is another way to add style. The writing should just flow smoothly and hold the reader's interest from start to finish.Whew, that's a lot to remember, right? I guess the 9th graders must be super stressed trying to check all those boxes in their compositions. If I was in their shoes, I would start prepping and outlining my essay verrrrry far in advance! Maybe my bro will let me read his final draft before he submits it. I could use my handy-dandy red pen to critique his content, organization, vocab, grammar and writing style. That'll really help ensure he gets a high score!Well, that's the inside scoop on how the Kunshan Middle School English teachers will be scoring the 9th grade final compositions this year. I may just be a 4th grader, but I feel like I have a pretty solid grasp of the criteria now. I'll be sure to put allthese tips and tricks to good use when it's my turn to write high-stakes essays in a few years. Wish me luck! Let's hope I inherited at least some of my brother's English writing skills. Knowing my luck though, I'll probably just end up doodling pictures in the margins...oops!篇2The 2024 Kunshan Middle School English Final Exam Essay Scoring CriteriaHey guys! It's me again, your favorite elementary school writer. Today I'm going to tell you all about the scoring rubric for the English essay portion of the big final exam for 9th graders in Kunshan this year. Get ready, because this is going to be a doozy!First off, there are five main categories that your essay will be judged on: Content, Organization, Vocabulary, Language Use, and Mechanics. Each category has a bunch of smaller parts that the teachers will look at too. Don't worry though, I'll break it all down for you nice and easy.Content (30 points)This part is all about what your essay says and whether you did a good job answering the prompt. The graders will check:If your main idea is clear and easy to understand (8 points)If you included good supporting details and examples (8 points)If your ideas are unique and not just stuff everyone already knows (7 points)If your conclusion nicely sums things up (7 points)See, it's not that complicated! Just make sure you have a clear main point, some solid examples to back it up, and an ending that wraps everything together nicely.Organization (20 points)Next up is organization, which means how well your essay is structured and laid out. The teachers want to see:If you have a catchy introduction that grabs the reader (5 points)If your body paragraphs flow smoothly from one to the next (5 points)If you used good transition words to connect your ideas (5 points)If your conclusion doesn't just repeat stuff but brings closure (5 points)The key things here are having a good hook in your introduction, making sure each paragraph transitions smoothly to the next one, using phrases like "furthermore," "in addition," etc., and ending with a satisfying finish.Vocabulary (20 points)Now we're getting into the grammar-y parts! For vocabulary, you'll be scored on:If you use a wide range of advanced vocabulary words (10 points)If you use idioms, phrasal verbs etc. naturally (5 points)If your word choice is accurate and appropriate (5 points)Basically, you want to show off your big fancy English vocabulary as much as you can. Use lots of harder words that you've learned, try to throw in some idioms and expressions, and make sure you're picking the right word for what you want to say.Language Use (20 points)This section is about your general English grammar skills. You'll get points for:Using a variety of correct sentence structures (10 points)Making few grammatical errors in general (5 points)Having proper subject-verb agreement (5 points)Don't worry too much about little mistakes here and there. But you do want to show that you can form all kinds of different sentences correctly, keep your subjects and verbs agreeing, and avoid tons of basic grammar goofs.Mechanics (10 points)Last but not least, mechanics! This covers spelling, punctuation, capitalization and stuff like that:Correct spelling (4 points)Proper punctuation (3 points)Capitalization of proper nouns etc. (3 points)This part is pretty straightforward. Just spell words right, use periods and commas where they belong, and capitalize things like people's names or the start of sentences. Simple as that!Phew, that was a lot to go through! But now you know exactly what those Kunshan exam graders will be looking for. Just remember to have a clear main idea, give lots of great examples and details, use advanced vocabulary and grammar, and don't make too many silly mistakes. Do all that, and you'll be swimming in a perfect score! If any part doesn't make sense, just let me know. I'm always happy to explain this stuff again in an even simpler way. Now get out there and write those amazing essays! Thanks for reading, and good luck on the exam!篇32024 Kunshan Middle School English Exam Scoring RubricHi everybody! My name is Xiao Ming and I'm a 5th grader. Today I'm gonna tell you all about how the Kunshan middle school teachers score the English writing part of the big exam at the end of 9th grade. It's really important stuff so listen up!First off, the teachers look at your introduction paragraph. They want to see if you grabbed the reader's attention with a great hook sentence. Maybe you told a cool story or asked a thought-provoking question? That's an awesome way to start! Then your intro needs to give some background info on thewriting prompt topic. Lastly, your thesis statement has to clearly state your main idea and previews the key points you'll discuss. If you don't have a solid thesis, the whole essay could fall apart!Next up is the body paragraphs. The teachers will check that each body paragraph has one clear main idea that supports your thesis. The topic sentence states the main idea and the rest of the paragraph has all the juicy explanations, examples and details that back it up. Don't go off on tangents or put random unrelated info in your paragraphs though! That's no good. The teachers also look closely at the transition words and phrases you use to connect your ideas between and within paragraphs. Transition words like "additionally", "furthermore", "in contrast", and "for example" are really important to make your writing flow smoothly. Using good transitions is way better than just stringing totally separate sentences together one after another.Another big thing the teachers check is how varied and descriptive your vocabulary is. Don't keep just using the same basic words like "good" or "bad" over and over. Use more exciting and precise adjectives like "captivating", "trivial", or "formidable." The thesaurus is your friend! Varying up your word choices makes your writing way more interesting to read. For your conclusion paragraph, the teachers want you to restate your main points in a fresh way, not just copy and paste the intro. Then you should end with a powerful and thoughtful closing statement that really drives your whole argument home. Maybe you could look ahead to the future or suggest a call to action. Just don't introduce any random new ideas in the conclusion!Another major part of the scoring has to do with your grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. Silly little mistakes can really add up and make your writing look sloppy. Be sure to carefully proofread your essay before handing it in!Oh and one more thing - don't forget about organization and structure! It's gotta be organized logically with clear transitions between ideas. If your essay jumps all over the place, the reader will just get confused and frustrated. A solid organizational structure with an intro, body, and conclusion is key.Whew, that's a lot to remember huh? The teachers are looking at sooo many different things when they score your essays. But if you practice writing while keeping all these guidelines in mind, I'm sure you'll do awesome on the exam! Your hard work will really payoff.Well, that's all the wise essay scoring wisdom I have to share for now. Thanks for listening everybody! I'm off to eat some ice cream before starting my math homework. Let me know if you have any other questions!篇42024 Kunshan Middle School Grade 9 Final English Composition Scoring CriteriaHey guys! Did you know that the big bad Grade 9 final English exam is coming up soon? I heard from my older brother that the composition part is super important. The teachers are going to score your essays very carefully based on some scoring criteria. I asked him to explain it to me and now I'm going to share what I learned with you!First up, the composition has to be well-organized with clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. The intro needs to grab the reader's attention with maybe an interesting question or fact. Then you state your main idea or thesis statement. Nicely done!In the body paragraphs, you discuss your points one by one with plenty of details and examples to support each point. Don't just tell the reader stuff, you gotta show and prove it withevidence. Use transition words too like "firstly", "additionally", "moreover" to link your ideas smoothly. The conclusion is where you restate your main idea in a snazzy way and leave the reader with something memorable to think about. Maybe a piece of advice or prediction for the future related to your topic. Wrap it up neatly in a bow!The next thing the teachers will look at is your vocabulary. You can't just use the same simple words over and over again. Gotta spice it up with lots of fancy schmancy vocab words! But be careful not to just throw in too many big words you don't really understand. The judges are smart and they'll be able to tell if you'reusing the words correctly or not.Grammar is also really important. I know, I know, grammar can be such a drag. But you gotta make sure you're using proper sentence structures, correct verb tenses, and no missing or incorrect articles or prepositions. Sloppy grammar mistakes can really hurt your score!Another thing that's crucial is having a clear and consistent perspective or point of view throughout your essay. Don't be flipping back and forth between different perspectives and opinions. Stick to one solid position and defend it strongly with your arguments and examples. The examples and details you use have to be super relevant, specific and convincing. Don't just use vague generalities. Give solid facts, figures, quotes, anecdotes or examples that really bring your points to life and make your essay credible and persuasive. You also need to make sure your examples and explanations are logically reasoned and flow smoothly. Jumbled thoughts and inconsistencies will just confuse the reader. Connect your ideas so there is a nice progression of thoughts building up your main argument.Last but not least, the teachers want your writing to be authentic and to show some personality and creativity! Don't just write what you think they want to hear. Put in some distinctive vocabulary, metaphors, humor, or creative thoughts that make your essay uniquely your own style. Those are the main criteria I learned about for how your Grade 9 final English compositions will be scored. It's a lot to remember, but just take it step-by-step! Organize it properly, use varied vocabulary correctly, check your grammar, keep a clear perspective, give strong relevant examples, make logical connections between ideas, and write with your own unique voice and creativity. If you can nail all those things, you'll be sureto impress the judges and get an amazing score! Wishing you all the best of luck, my friends! You've got this!篇52024 Kunshan Grade 9 Final English Exam Essay Scoring CriteriaHello everyone! My name is Xiao Ming and I'm a 5th grader. Today I'm going to tell you all about how the teachers will score the English essays for the big 9th grade final exam happening next year in 2024 in my hometown of Kunshan. Get ready, because this is really important stuff!First of all, the teachers have to read through every single essay very carefully. They can't just skim or they might miss things. It's a huge job because there are so many students taking the exam. After they read each essay, they give it a score for different things like grammar, vocabulary, organization and more. The scores all get added up to get the final grade on the essay part of the test. One of the most important things the teachers look for is grammar. They check if the student is using verb tenses correctly, if the subject and verb agree, if the pronouns are right, and all that grammar stuff we learn about in class. If there are just a fewlittle mistakes here and there, it's not so bad. But if the grammar errors make it hard to understand what the student is trying to say, then they'll lose a bunch of points. The teachers also give a score for vocabulary. They want to see that students know lots of vocabulary words and can use them properly when writing an essay. Using simple words they teach you in kindergarten won't get you many points. You have to shake things up and show off your fancy vocabulary skills! But watch out - if you try to use really complex words in the wrong way, that's no good either. The key is using a nice range of vocabulary words correctly.Organization is another biggie when it comes to scoring the essays. Basically, this means your essay has to make sense and be put together in a logical way. You need things like an introduction paragraph that tells what you're going to write about. Then you need body paragraphs that go into detail about the main idea. And finally, a conclusion paragraph that wraps it all up. If your essay jumps all over the place without a clear structure, you'll lose a bunch of points. The teachers also check that you actually answered the essay question or wrote about the assigned topic. You can't just ramble on about anything you want! It has to be focused onresponding to the specific question or prompt they gave for the essay. If you went total off-topic, purr purr purr like my cat Sprinkles when she gets the zoomies, then your score won't be so hot.In addition to all that important stuff, the teachers look at some other things too when giving a score. Like if your handwriting is neat and readable. Or if you used paragraphs and punctuation properly. Oh, and they'll totally check for copied sentences or plagiarism, which is a huge no-no! Anything copied wins you an automatic 0 points. The highest score you can get on the essay is 100 points. But man, you really have to wow the teachers to get a perfect score. From what I know, only a handful of students get 100s each year. Most of the time, scores in the 80s or 90s are considered excellent. 70s and 60s are okay, but not great. Anything lower than 60 is...yikes, let's just say you don't want to go there!Phew, that's a whole lot of info to take in, huh? I know this scoring system seems super serious and strict. But it's because this exam is mega important! Your essay scores could impact whether you get into a great high school or university later on. No pressure though, just try your best!Honestly though, as long as you practice writing essays a ton, learn all your grammar rules frontwards and backwards, read lots of books to build vocabulary, and make sure you actually answer the prompt, you'll do amazing! The teachers aren't out to trick anyone. They just want to see that you've worked hard and know your English stuff.Well, that's all the key points about scoring that I can think of for now. Let me know if you have any other questions! I'll be over here working on my penmanship and constructing logically organized paragraphs. An aspiring novelist like myself has got to prepare for these high-stakes exams, you know? Catch you later, alligators!篇62024 Kunshan Junior High School English Exam Scoring RubricHey guys! Did you just finish your big junior high English exam? I bet you're tired from all that writing, reading, and using your brain muscles. My older sister is a junior high student, so I know how hard she studies for tests like this. She's always stressing about getting good scores.Well, have no fear! I'm going to explain the super cool scoring rubric the teachers use to grade your English exams. A rubric is like a cheat sheet that shows exactly what they are looking for to give you points. Knowing the rubric is kind of like getting access to a video game's secret codes! The rubric has different sections that get scored separately. For the writing section, they look at your ideas and how well you express them. Did you stick to the prompt and include lots of relevant details and examples? Using better vocabulary and varying your sentences earns more points too.The teachers also judge your grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Minor mistakes are no biggie, but tons of errors make it hard to understand what you wrote. So proofread carefully! Organization matters as well – you need a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. For the reading comprehension, you get points for every question you answer correctly about the passage. The rubric awards points differently for literal questions versus ones where you need to make inferences or analyze things. Don't just skim for answers – read carefully! The listening part is similar – you get credit for the multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and short answer questions you getright based on the audio clips. The rubric gives higher scores if you can identify details, main ideas, speaker emotions, and purposes.Proper spelling and grammar matter everywhere, not just writing. Same for showing your work neatly on math problems or essays. The teachers want to see your thought process.Speaking is usually tested through an oral interview. The rubric looks at your pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary use, and how well you respond to the questions. Prepare for common topics like family, hobbies, future goals, etc. Speak loudly, confidently, and elaborate with details. In general, following directions precisely, demonstrating effort, and showing what you've learned earn the most points on the rubric. Thoughtful and creative responses can also impress the teachers for a higher score.I know it's hard work, but your perseverance and skills will pay off. Study the rubric ahead of time so you know exactly what to focus on. Stay positive – you've got this! Let me know if any part of the scoring still seems confusing.Cross your fingers and get ready to celebrate an amazing score on your junior high English exam! The rubric is your guide to success. Give it your all, and the points will follow. Good luck!。
英语写季节作文结尾
英语写季节作文结尾全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Ending an Essay About the SeasonsWriting essays is a big part of school, and one topic we get asked to write about a lot is the seasons. The seasons are a easy thing to write about because we experience them every year. There's spring, summer, fall, and winter - four very different times of the year with their own unique weather, holidays, and activities. When writing about the seasons, it's important to describe each one using lots of details and examples to paint a vivid picture in the reader's mind. You want them to be able to imagine exactly what spring, summer, fall and winter are like where you live. Some good things to include are:• The typical temperatures and climate• What the trees, plants and flowers look like• Popular outdoor activities people enjoy• How you spend your time differently in each season• Any special holidays, events or traditionsOnce you've covered all four seasons in depth, it's time to start wrapping things up with a good conclusion. The conclusion is one of the most important parts of any essay because it's your final thoughts and where you really drive home your main ideas one last time.A good conclusion for a seasons essay should summarize the key points you made about each season. Don't just repeat everything word-for-word, but concisely restate the major details and examples you included previously. You can say something like "From the blooming flowers of spring to the snowy days of winter, each season offers its own unique sights, feelings and experiences."It's also nice to include some deeper thoughts or insights about the bigger picture of why the seasons are important. Maybe talk about how the changing seasons reflect the cycle of life, with spring being a fresh start, summer is lively growth, fall is harvest time, and winter is a period of rest before it begins again. You could write "The seasons capture the essence of nature's rhythms and patterns that humans have synchronized ourselves with for thousands of years. They remind us to appreciate thesimple beauty and wonders that surround us every day we may take for granted."Another way to end an essay about the seasons is to share your own personal thoughts and feelings about your favorite season and why. Do you love the warm, long days of summer spending time at the beach? Or maybe the crisp air, changing leaves, and Halloween festivities of fall are more your style?Describing your personal connection to one of the seasons is a great way to leave a lasting impression on the reader. You could write "Although each season is beautiful in its own way, spring has always been my favorite time of year. When the first flower blossoms open and the cold grip of winter finally fades, I feel a sense of hopefulness and renewal, like anything is possible."Finally, the very last sentence of your conclusion should be something simple but profound that sums up the overall spirit and heart of your essay. It's the lasting message you want to leave with your reader. Some good one-liners could be:"The seasons will always be nature's greatest show, playing out its timeless cycle year after year.""Through all the ups, downs, and changes the seasons bring, their reliability is something we can count on forever.""The seasons may be fleeting, but the memories, joy and life lessons they provide last an eternity."With a strong, insightful conclusion capturing the power of the seasons, you'll have written an essay that truly blooms from start to finish!篇2The Wonderful SeasonsHi there! My name is Emma, and I'm going to tell you all about the four amazing seasons we have here on Earth. Each season is so different and special in its own way, and I love them all!Let's start with spring. Spring is when everything starts to wake up from its long winter nap. The trees grow new leaves, and the flowers start blooming everywhere. It's like the world is putting on a colorful new coat after being dressed in white all winter. My favorite spring flower is the daffodil. They're so bright and cheerful, and they always make me smile. In spring, the weather gets warmer, and we can finally go outside without having to bundle up in a million layers. I love playing outside in the spring, jumping in puddles and feeling the warm sun on my face. Spring is also when lots of baby animals are born, like lambs, calves, and chicks. They're just the cutest things ever! After spring comes summer, which is probably my favorite season. School is out for the summer, which means no more homework or waking up early. Yay! Summer is all about fun in the sun. I love going to the beach and swimming in the ocean. The water feels so refreshing on a hot summer day. And who doesn't love building sandcastles and burying your feet in the warm sand?Summer is also the perfect time for ice cream. My favorite flavor is chocolate chip cookie dough. I could eat it every single day! Another great thing about summer is that it stays light out much later, so you can play outside until it's almost bedtime.Autumn is also the season for pumpkins and apple picking. My family and I always go to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin for Halloween. Then, we carve funny or scary faces into them and put a candle inside. It's a tradition I look forward to every year. After autumn comes winter, which is the coldest season of all. Everything is covered in white, sparkling snow, and icicles hang from the trees and rooftops. It's like living in a real-life winter wonderland! I love building snowmen and having epic snowball fights with my friends. And nothing beats the feeling of catching a snowflake on your tongue.Winter is also the season for Christmas, which is my absolute favorite holiday. I love decorating the tree with all the shiny ornaments and twinkling lights. And of course, there are always lots of presents under the tree from Santa!Even though winter can be cold and snowy, I don't mind too much because I know that spring will be here before I know it, and the cycle of seasons will start all over again. Each season has its own special magic and beauty, and I'm so grateful that I get to experience them all. Whether it's playing in the spring rain, building sandcastles in the summer, jumping in leaf piles in the autumn, or making snow angels in the winter, there's always something fun and exciting to look forward to.I hope you've enjoyed learning about the four wonderful seasons as much as I've enjoyed telling you about them. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some puddles to jump in!篇3How to End an Essay About the SeasonsWhen you write about the seasons, it's really fun! You get to describe the different weather, holidays, and activities for each season. But after you've written all the good stuff in the body paragraphs, you might be wondering: how do I end this essay? The conclusion is the last part of your essay, and it's pretty important. It's where you wrap everything up and leave the reader with one final thought about your topic. Let me share some tips for writing a strong conclusion to an essay on the seasons.Restate Your Main IdeaThe first thing you'll want to do is restate the main idea or thesis statement from your introduction, but in different words. For example, if your thesis was "The four seasons are very different and special in their own ways," you could rephrase that in the conclusion by saying "In summary, each season brings its own unique weather patterns, holidays, and traditions that make it distinct from the others."This reminds the reader of the big main point you were trying to make in your essay. Don't just copy and paste your thesis statement though - put it in fresh wording!Summarize Key PointsNext, you'll want to briefly summarize some of the key points or examples you discussed in the body paragraphs. Don't restate everything, just hit the highlights from each season. For instance, you could write something like:"Spring ushers in warmer temperatures, blooming flowers, and holidays like Easter. Summer is a time for swimming, barbecues, and vacations from school. The cooler fall season brings colorful changing leaves, pumpkin picking, and Thanksgiving. Finally, winter is perfect for building snowmen, celebrating Christmas and New Year's, and snuggling inside to stay warm."See how that covers the main ideas about each season without going into too much detail? That's what you want for your summary.Final ThoughtsAfter restating the main idea and summarizing key points, end your conclusion with one or two final thoughts or sentences that leave a lasting impression on the reader. You could share a personal connection to the seasons:"The changing seasons fill me with wonder at the beauty and cycles of nature. I eagerly await each new season all year round!"Or give a thought-provoking comment:"Although the seasons are constantly in flux, their repeating pattern is a comforting reminder of how life continues on. The seasons may change, but they'll always roll back around again."Or maybe just a simple closing statement:"The four seasons make the world a diverse andever-changing place full of variety and renewal."Ending With a Question or QuoteOne other option for your final few sentences is to end with a relevant question or quote that makes the reader think deeper about the topic. For a question, you could ask something like:"What is your favorite season and why? How would life be different if we didn't have four seasons?"Or for a quote, you could find a good quote about the seasons from a famous person, book, poem, etc. and end with that. Just make sure to cite the quote properly! Those are some tips for writing a strong conclusion paragraph for an essay about the seasons. Following this structure - restating the main idea, summarizing key points, and ending with a final thought - will help you wrap up your essay clearly and leave the reader with a lasting impression. The conclusion is the last chance you have to drive your main point home, so make it count! With a little practice, you'll be able to conclude your seasonal essays smoothly every time.篇4How to Write a Great Conclusion for a Seasons EssayWriting conclusions can be tough, but they're super important for tying your whole essay together. When you're writing about the seasons, you'll want your conclusion to leave a lasting impression about the awesome season you discussed. Here are some tips for knocking your conclusion out of the park!Keep it Short and SweetYour conclusion shouldn't be as long as the body paragraphs where you explained all the great details about your season. Just a few sentences is perfect. Any more than that and your reader might get bored before reaching the end.Restate Your Main PointsA good conclusion will quickly remind the reader what your main points were without going into too much detail again. You can write something like, "As I've shown, spring is the best season because of the warm weather, blossoming flowers, and opportunities for fun outdoor activities."Share Final ThoughtsAfter restating your key points, wrap things up by sharing your final takeaway message or thoughts about the season. This is your chance to leave the reader feeling the same excitement and appreciation for the season that you feel.Connect to Introductory AnecdoteIf you started your essay by telling a short personal story or anecdote related to the season, you can connect back to that in your conclusion. Bring up that story again and reflect on how it really captured the essence of what makes that season so great.Use Vivid ImagerySince you're writing about a season of the year, be sure to use lots of descriptive sensory words and phrases in your conclusion to paint a vivid picture in the reader's mind of the seasonal sights, sounds, smells and atmosphere you love.End With Something MemorableWhether it's a rhetorical question, inspirational quote, impactful statistic or simply a few beautifully written words, aim to end your conclusion in a way that will stick in the reader's mind long after they've finished your essay.Put it All TogetherNow let me show you an example conclusion paragraph about spring that incorporates several of these effective strategies:"When I think back to that warm March day when I saw the first robin perched in our backyard tree, it fills me with the same joy and hopefulness that spring represents. As I've described, this lively season brings crisp fresh air, gardens in bloom, and cherished opportunities to frolic outdoors in the sun once more. With vibrantly colored flowers popping up through the fertile soil and the sweet scent of blossoming trees carried along bygentle breezes, how could anyone prefer the dreariness of winter? Spring is a long-awaited yearly rebirth that rejuvenates the Earth and our spirits. If I could make spring last forever, I wouldn't hesitate for a single second."See how that paints a pretty picture of spring? It reminds us of the main ideas about spring, uses vivid sensory details, and ends by leaving the reader with a thought-provoking question they'll likely ponder. With a tight, thoughtful conclusion like this, your writing will feel complete and impactful. So there you have it - now you know how to write excellent conclusions that will make your season essays shine as bright as the summer sun! Just remember to keep it concise yet creative. With a little practice, you'll be knocking out amazing concluding paragraphs in no time. Happy writing!篇5How to End a Writing About the SeasonsWhen you are writing about the seasons, it can be lots of fun to describe all the different things that happen during each one. You get to talk about playing in the snow and building snowmen in the winter. You can write about rain showers and flowers blooming in the spring. Summer is great for swimming andgoing to the beach. And in the fall, you can go on nature walks and see the leaves changing colors. There is so much to write about! But after you have talked all about the different seasons and all the fun activities you can do, you need to wrap up your writing with a good conclusion. The conclusion is the last part of your essay or story, and it's really important. This is where you get to restate your main idea and leave the reader with one final thought about the seasons.A good conclusion shouldn't just stop abruptly with no real ending. It needs to have a few sentences that summarize what you wrote about. You'll want to remind the reader of the key points you made, like how winter is cold and snowy, spring has rainy days but new flowers, summer is hot and great for swimming, and fall is when the leaves change colors. Try to restate your main points in a slightly different way than you said them earlier in your writing. For example, if you started your essay by saying "The seasons are very different from each other," you could restate that main idea in the conclusion by writing something like "As you can see, each of the four seasons is unique and special in its own way." See how I'm saying a similar thing, but in slightly newwords? That's a good way to remind readers of your main points without just repeating the exact same sentences. After quickly restating your key ideas about the seasons, you'll want to leave the reader with one last, final thought. You could share why you think the seasons are important or interesting. Maybe you'll explain which season is your favorite and why. Or you could talk about how the changing seasons allow us to do different fun activities throughout the year. Here's an example of how you could end a writing about the seasons:"In conclusion, the four seasons of winter, spring, summer, and fall are all very different but equally wonderful times of year. Each season brings its own unique weather, changes in nature, and special activities to enjoy. From sledding in the winter to swimming in the summer to watching leaves fall in autumn, the seasons ensure there is never a dull moment. That's why I think the seasons are amazing - they keep every few months feeling new and exciting! My personal favorite is spring because I love watching the trees get their leaves back and seeing the colorful flowers bloom after the long winter. But no matter which season is your favorite, there is something for everyone to appreciate about the changing seasons."In that example conclusion, I first restated the main idea that the seasons are all different but great in their own ways. Then I reminisced a bit about some of the fun things you can do during each season as a final parting thought. I also shared that spring is my personal favorite season and explained why to leave a lasting impression with the reader. The most important things for a good seasonal writing conclusion are:Restate your main idea about the seasonsDon't just abruptly stop - leave the reader with one last thoughtShare your favorite season and why, or explain why the seasons are important/interestingIf you follow those three tips, you'll be able to write a strong conclusion that wraps up your great writing about the four seasons! Just remember to give the reader a sense of closure by summarizing your key points one last time and leaving them with something to ponder about the seasons after they finish reading.篇6How to Write a Great Ending for Your Season EssayWhen you're writing an essay about the seasons, you want to make sure you have an awesome ending. The ending is your last chance to really wow your teacher and leave them thinking, "Wow, what an amazing essay!" Here are some tips for writing a great conclusion paragraph for your season essay:Restate Your Main IdeasAt the start of your conclusion, you'll want to quickly restate the main idea or ideas you wrote about in your essay. Don't just repeat your intro word-for-word though. Use some slightly different wording to repackage your main points. For example, if your essay was about how awesome summer is, you could start your conclusion like: "In summary, summer is the most exciting season due to the warm weather, fun outdoor activities, and long school break." Short and sweet, hitting the high notes of what you discussed.Add Some Final ThoughtsAfter quickly reviewing your key points, use the rest of the conclusion to expand on them a little more with some final thoughts, examples, or insights. This is your chance to really drive your main ideas home and leave your reader convinced.Let's say your essay was all about how summer allows you to spend more time outside, running around, swimming, and playing sports. For a strong ending, you could add something like:"Without homework and tests to worry about, kids can stay outside from sunup to sundown during the summer. We can start the day splashing at the pool or beach and end it catching lightning bugs at night. The extra vitamin D from all that sunshine boosts our energy and moods. We kids need that active outdoor playtime to grow up healthy and strong."Doesn't that make you excited for summer?! Adding vivid details and explaining the importance of your point makes for a super effective conclusion.End with a Mighty CloserFinally, finish off your paragraph with one powerful closing statement. A good closing line should:• Succinctly restate your essay's main idea one last time• Leave the reader feeling the importance of your topic• Have a sense of completeness so the essay feels nicely wrapped upFor example, ending your summer essay with a closing line like:"When that final school bell rings and summer vacation begins, kids everywhere rejoice at the prospect of three glorious months of freedom, fun, and making incredible memories."Doesn't that give you a warm sunny feeling and really cement how awesome summer is? That's the effect you want from your closing line.Other good closing statements might be:"The changing colors of autumn are a breathtaking reminder that beauty is fleeting, but natural wonders await us every year.""While the bitter cold and snowy storms of winter can be harsh, they are also a peaceful pause, a time of reflection and appreciation for the cozy comforts of family before the rebirth of spring."See how these closing lines really drive home the essay's main point in a concise, almost poetic way? That's how you'll leave your reader with a lasting impression. So for writing an essay about any of the seasons, remember:Restate your main ideasExpand on them with some final, compelling thoughtsEnd with a powerful, wrap-it-all-up closing statementFollow those tips, and you'll have a conclusion that brings your essay home with impact, being sure to wow your teacher. Have fun with your seasonal writing!。

Hares were common in the campgrounds, along with monkeys that were so aggressive that they would come out toward the campfire for a handout while we were still eating. We saw the pangolins that are fairly common in the area and were introduced there by hunters centuries ago, as well as a few wolves that were introduced fairly recently in hopes of checking the expanding population of hares.
