My name is shen yanhui, you coul d also call me Adely. I’m from BPS d epartment of Unipoint. I have worked in our company for nearly three years. Today, I want to talk about billiard (tabl e tennis) with you. So my topic is “Billiard and me”.
I remember the first time I played billiard was in my mid dl e school. Since I joined in Unipoint I started l oving it. In a period of time I spent too much time on it, Every day I am certain to play billiard in billiard-room for two or four hours after get off work and watch billiard game when I back home. For that it’s often explod e war between me and my girlfriend. Unfortunately the billiard-room be removed for adding the inventory space.
Now, As we know billiard is very familiar to us, but most peopl e still d on’t kno w its history. About billiard’s beginning there have some different viewpoints. Some peopl e say it come from Greece, some peopl e say its home is in England, in ad dition someone say it originated from China. Because it has six hundred years history so we coul dn’t find the truth. But one poin t without questioning is that billiard originated Europe.
The billiard d evel oped in England in 14th century, at first just royal househol d stuff and nobl e play the billiard and the ball was mad e by ebur or yellow metal. The tabl e was mad e by wood and be changed to stone for avoiding variant. Because the cost of billiard is very high so it coul dn’t be spread widely until to the ebur be replace by one cheap material—china clay. At that time the tabl e just has one hol e in the tabl e center and now there are six hol es layout along the tabl e sid e. Billiard be brought to Asia in 18th century, first India then Japan and china. Billiard because popular in worl d was in 21st century and many invents about billiard came out, for exampl e rest, chalk, tip, powd er, tri-angl e. We often use those invents when we play billiard in club. Today many billiard games be held every year, such as world championship, shanghai masters cup, welsh open and so on. What’s more, there have a few types of games mainly including eight - ball, nine - ball, snooker and carom. Snooker is the most popular type and all international game ad opts this type. Although it has different competition rul es between different games but it has the same technique. If you want to make yourself play billiard better you must master three techniques --top spin, back spin and stop shot.
In the billiard history have many excell ent players. Such as Hendry be named billiard emperor for his perfect techniques, O’sullivan be named rocket for his speed of shot
, John Higgins- the sorcerer for his super control ability of cue ball. But I like Trump most because he always has surprising id ea and was the most tal ented one. Maybe most Chinese peopl e start to interest billiard because Ding junhui. To be honest I am not his fans.
