Teaching Plan for Lesson 15, Book I

T eaching Aims: 1. Improve the students’ listening and speaking skills.

2. Let the students understand the whole text and be able to recite it with the same

intonation as the tape.

Key Points: 1. The understanding of the patterns: “put on…” and “you are funny, too”.

2. The understanding and the use of “come with…”.

3. The understanding of “actor” and “actress”.

T eaching Aids: the multimedia, hat, shoes.

Time allocation: One period.

T eaching Procedure:

Step 1. (1 min)Show the pictures 1-6 and ask Ss to count the numbers when looking at the pictures. Ss can have a whole impression of this lesson in this way.

Step 2. (3 mins) Look and listen once. (Watch the video once) Then ask the Ss: “What can you hear?” Give them stars if they say anything about what they’ve heard.

Step 3. (10 mins) Look, listen and understand.

a.Imitation. Ask the Ss to repeat the sentence they’ve heard. Teacher should pay attention to the Ss’

pronunciation and intonation.

b. Explain pictures one by one.

Picture 1. Put on Dad’s hat, Sandy.

---- T may ask two students to do the gesture “put on a hat”. T may help the first student do the action if necessary.

Picture 2. Put on Mom’s shoes, Sue.

---- T may ask one student to do the action “put on the shoes”.

Picture 3. Y ou are funny, Sue!

Y ou’re funny, too, Sandy!

---- First, T may ask one boy to put on the woman’s hat and say, “Y ou are funny, XX.” Then let a boy who is laughing put on the hat and say, “Y ou are funny, too, XX.”

---- Second, T can show the picture of Xie Na and say, “Xie Na is funny” and then show the picture of He Jiong and say “He Jiong is funny, too.”

Picture 4. Come with me.

---- T may do the action and ask one student to do like him/her.

Picture 5. Knock at the door, Sue.

Come in.

---- First, T may knock at the desk, the chair, the wall … to explain “knock”.

---- Second, T may ask one student to “come with me” and knock at the door out of the class, close the door and ask him/her to “knock at the door”.

---- Next, T opens the door and says “come in”.

Picture 6. Look at me! I’m an actor.

Look at me! I’m an actress.

---- T may prepare the pictures of some famous stars.

E.g.: Zhang Genshuo, Hu Ge --- tell the Ss: He is an actor.

Y ang Mi, Liu Shishi --- tell the Ss: She is an actress.

Step 4. (15 mins) Look, listen and repeat.

T can ask Ss to repeat in chorus, in groups or individually picture by picture. When the Ss repeat, T should pay more attention to the difficult sentences “Y ou’re funny, too”and “Look at me! I’m an actor/actress.”

Step 5. Look and listen once.

Step 6. Look at the pictures and tell the pictures.

T can ask Ss to tell the pictures one by one or one picture then two pictures then three pictures….

Step 7. (5 mins) Recite the text.

T may ask the Ss to recite the text altogether or in groups. Also T may ask top students to recite.

Step 8. (5 mins) Act the scene.

T can ask Ss to act the scene in front of the classroom. Give them stars if they do well.
