现代英语精读课本6第三课译文
The Woods Were Tossing With JewelsBy Marie St. John
1-3 introducing the setting of the story, providing necessary background information4.7

Although it was very hot outside in the sun, we were hapoy to be dismissed from my mother's sessions indoors. We would have to read and write with her every day no matter what the weather was like.Lesson six death of a pig1、It is tragedy enacted on most farms with perfect fidelity to the original script. The murder, being premeditated, is in the first degree but is quick and skillful, and the smoked bacon and ham provide a ceremonial ending whose fitness is seldom questioned.Pa. The tragedy has an ending---the killing of a pig and the serving of its meat. The killing deliberately planned and carried out efficiently, is the most type of murder. However, whether pigs should end their lives that way has never been questioned.2、A pig couldn't ask for anything better----or none has, at any rate.Pa. A pig couldn't ask for any better living conditions; at least no pig has ever complained. In a word, my pig lived in a pleasant environment. Note the humor here---a pig couldn't speak; therefore it couldn't let us know whether it was contented with its living conditions or not.8、I have written this account in penitence and in grief, as a man who failed to raise his pig, and to explain my deviation from the classic course of so many raised pigs.Pa. The purpose of this essay is to show that I am sorry for what has happened to my pig, since I have failed to raise the pig and cannot provide a reason why my pig didn't grow the way other pigs have grown.Lesson 7 inaugural address4、But this peaceful revolution of hope cannot become the prey of hostile powers.Pa. Pa. To be rady to negotiate and establish friendly relations does not mean that we are weak or afraid. Declarations of sincere intention have to be tested by actions.Lesson 8 a rose for Emily4、It was another link between the gross, teeming world and the high and mighty Griersons.Pa.The Griersons regarded themselves as very important and the outside world as vulgar and full of people inferior to them. They belonged to two entirely different worlds. However, the complaints about the smell seved as a link between the two different worlds and compelled Miss Emily to deal with the outside world.8、But there were still others, older people, who said that even grief could not cause a real lady to forget noblesse oblige---without calling it noblesse oblige. Pa. But there were still others, older people, who said that no matter how sad Miss Emily was ( over her father's death), she should not forget she had certain obligations as a member of the nobility, though a rea lady would not describe the self-restraint by the expression noblesse oblige.9、We were glad because the two female cousins were even more Grierson than Miss Emily had e.ver been.Pa. Lesson 21、The meaning of the title "The Woods were Tossing with Jewels."2、The two meaning of the word "jewels".两个题都可答:We can find the true meaning of "jewels"in the sentence"The burly arms of the oaks were huge with ferns and blooming bromeliads.Redbirds, tanagers, and painted buntings flew back and forth across the trail, leaving a child with the impression that the woods were tossing with jewels"Here, "jewels"means "diamond, ruby, and precious stone". From the last paragraph, we understand that the "jewels"in the author's heart not only refers to the birds in the woods, but also the precious experience of living in the remote island and woods.Lesson 61、The author humorously describes the death of his pig, Would you consider the story a tragedy or a comedy?Although the author humorously describes the death of his pig, he shows great sympathy, worry, and sadness. On the whole, the story should be considered a tragedy instead of a comedy.2、What ' s the important massages does the article tell us?Time may be circular for seasons, the weather, and human nature, but for humans,or animals in this case, time is painfully one-directional. This is probably why death has been a constant theme in White's writing.Lesson 71、How the purpose and the background affect this speech?President Kennedy appeals to the people of the United States and the people of the world to join in the fight against the common enemies. The speech is delivered by President Kennedy as an inaugural address, which should be enough solemn and forceful. He avoids Cold War thetoric and narrow nationalism. The enemy is common enemy. The goal is "a more fruitful life for all mankind".Lesson 81、The story is narrated by "We".Who are"we"?Are "we"omniscient or limited in the point of view? Why does the author choose to use this narrative voice?Stories written then are usually told by a person who knows everything at any moment. It is called the omniscient narrator. In"A Rose for Emily" he chooses"we", the people of the town,as the collective narrator. The first sentence of the story says, "When Miss Emily Grierson died, our whole town went to the funeral..." In the following parts"we" frequently appear as the narrator.2、The theme of the love?3、Evaluate EmilyLesson 10 the bluest eye1、How to describe a nation's character in a short essay?Forster narrows down the discussion of the English nation to the male members of middle classes, for th was born and raised in a middle-class family and therefore knows the section well.Forster puts emphasis on the middle classes at the very beginning of the essay. And then he expounds the public school system in Britain and the effect it has on the middle-class boys. On the basis of it, Forster illustrates some examples to present English characters.。

英语专业 综合英语第六册 课后问题
Lesson One How to Get the Poor off Our Conscience1.What are the five historical solutions?(1)The first solution proposed in the Bible (圣经): the poor suffer in this world butare wonderfully rewarded in the next. Their poverty is a temporary misfortune. If they are poor and also meek(逆来顺受), they eventually will inherit the earth.(2)The second solution is utilitarianism (功利主义) . (Utilitarianism is the idea thatthe morally correct course of action is the one that produces benefit for the greatest number of people.)(3)Next is Malthusianism (人口论). The poverty of the poor was the fault of the poor. And it was so because it was a product of their excessive fecundity (生育).(4)Social Darwinism (社会达尔文主义) is the fourth solution. The elimination of thepoor is nature’s way of improving the race. (物竞天择,适者生存。
)(5)The notion that there is something economically damaging about helping the poorremains with us to this day as one of the ways by which we get them off our conscience. Public assistance to the poor interfered with the effective operation of the economic system.2.What are the five current designs?(1)Most of the things that must be done on behalf of the poor must be done in oneway or another by the government.(2)The second design is to allege that any form of public help to the poor only hurtsthe poor.(3)Public-assistance measures have an adverse effect on incentive.(4)Transferring money from the rich to the poor through the government has badeffect on freedom.(5)Finally, when all else fails, we resort to simple psychological denial.3.In the title, why the author use our instead of people’s?In starting our conscience, the author seems to indicate that he is included in the search of ways of “getting the poor off our conscience”, thus making it sound that he is reflecting on a moral sin we are all guilty of, rather than adopting a condescending way of preaching. The word“our”implicitly includes “all people who are not poor – the rich”. It’s ironical, so it is not precise if it is changed to “people’s” conscience.4.How did people feel when a number of social welfare measures were put intopractice. Were they right in thinking so?People felt that the policy of ignoring the poor and refusing assistance had beenabandoned. The government was making efforts to relieve the misery of the unfortunate, so they did not need to pay attention any more. They were not completely right. While it was true that many measures had been implemented and were working, the desire to get the poor off our conscience still lingered on, waiting for a chance to come back.Lesson Two The Woods Were Tossing with JewelsWhat does “jewels” mean in the title?(1)The author compares “the birds in the woods”to “jewels”because of theirbrightly colored plumage (羽毛), and since the birds flew back and forth across the trail, the author felt as a little girl that the woods were tossing with jewels. (2)“Jewels”also symbolize some qualities, such as self-reliance (自信), freedom, courage, hard work, simple life, love of nature, love of family, trust and caring.Lesson Three At War with the Planet1.What are the two worlds that people live in? What is the common, unthinkingattitude towards the two worlds?(1)The two worlds refer to natural world and the world of human creation.(2)The attitude is: we are responsible for events of our own world, but not for whatoccurs in the natural world.2.What’s the purpose of the author’s writing? The purpose is not to support the ecosphere or the technosphere, but to find a way to end the war and to allow peaceful accommodation to the needs of the natural order. 3.What are the two spheres? And their differences? The two spheres refer to ecosphere and technosphere.According to the author, the ecosphere refers to the air, water and soil that cover the Earth and the plants and animals that live on it. The technosphere means man-made things.(1)The ecosphere is an elaborate(精细的) network, in which each component part islinked to many others. In the technosphere, the component parts have a very different relation to their surroundings.(2)The ecosphere process is closed cyclical(循环),while the process of technosphereis linear(直线).(3)The ecosphere is consistent and harmonious, while the technosphere is full ofrapid change and variation.4.What are the three laws?(1)Everything is connected to everything else.(2)Everything has to go somewhere.(3)Nature knows best.Lesson Four Nettles1. What does “Nettles” mean? The narrator remembered the Nettles. But those plants with big pinkish-purple flowers are not nettles. They are called joe-pye weeds. In fact nettles are stinging insignificant-looking plants with stalks outfitted with skin-piercing spines. Her mistaking joe-pye weeds for weeds for nettles implies that ordinary life is more like the insignificant-looking nettles that are stinging and piercing, thus irritating and annoying people rather than the joe-pye weeds with snowy pinkish-purple flowers. Real life is disturbing, frustrating and unsettling, offering no tidy resolution.2. What’s the narrator’s new perception of love at last? What happened, or rather what did not happen between Mike and her gave her a new perception of love. Love that was not usable, that knew its place. Not risking a thing yet staying alive as sweet trickles, an underground resource. This is the theme of the story. The event that took place during that weekend may not seem very special or exciting, but through it the author explores the complexity of human emotions and the beauty of ordinary life.3. The symbol of stormDuring the storm, the two were holding each other tightly, but they did that to protect themselves from the terrible storm. Now they kissed and pressed together because they had just survived a devastating storm, a dangerous situation. They did that embraced as a spontaneously shared ritual. At this moment, lust that had disturbed her in the night gave way to this sense of togetherness. We can see that in a sense, the rain had washed away the lust and purified her mind, thus purifying their relationship, too.Lesson Five One against the Many1.What do “one” and “many” mean? What does the author really want to tell us? They refer to “one viewpoint”and “many viewpoints”. In other words, the author regards pragmatism as the key factor which contributed to the rapid development of the United States.2.Some words about “one” and “many”One: ideology, dogma, hedgehogs, creed, proposition. Many: ideal, pragmatism, empiricism, empirical, practical, process, foxily.3.What are the factors which contribute to the rapid development of the UnitedStates?(1)One factor was deep faith in education.(2)Another factor in the process of American development has been the commitmentto self-government and representative institutions. A related factor has been the conviction of the importance of personal freedom and personal initiative –the feeling that initiative the individual is the source of creativity. Another has been the understanding of the role of cooperative activity, public as well as voluntary. (3)But fundamental to all of those has been the national rejection of dogmaticpreconceptions about the nature of the social and economic order.Lesson Six Death of a Pig1.What is the scheme of raising a pig?Buy a piglet in blossom time, feed it through summer and fall, and then butcher it when the solid cold weather arrives.2.Is the story a tragedy or comedy?Although the author humorously describes the death of his pig, he sho ws great sympathy, worry, and sadness. On the whole, the story should be considered as a tragedy instead of a comedy.3.What is the message the author wants to express?White, however, is not merely portraying a tragic scene; he is conveying an important message. To him, time may be circular for the seasons, the weather, and human nature, but for human, or animals in this case, time is painfully one-directional.4.What does the author think through the pig’s pain and suffering? The pain and suffering of the pig made him think of the fate of man and insecure, suffering world. He wrote, “the pig’s imbalance became the man’s vicariously, and life seems insecure, displaced, transitory”. When the pig finally died, White felt notthe loss of ham, but the loss of pig because it “had suffered in a suffering world”. The author is aging and dying. To him, the suffering of the pig symbolizes the suffering of human beings.Lesson Seven1.What is an inaugural address?Presidential inauguration is a solemn occasion which requires a formal speech. Hence the employment of pseudo-Roman and biblical language to add solemnity. The occasion also demands that the speech should be short, forceful and appealing to emotion. Hence the speech uses structure, antithesis and anaphora and includes the memorable statement of “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”2.What’s the purpose of his speech?Against such a domestic and international background, Kennedy’s speech was designed to convince and persuade. Kennedy wanted to convince the American people and the world that the President and his team were capable of leadership, with vigor and vision. He needed to persuade the allies to stand with the United States, as well as to persuade newly independent countries and other poor Third World countries that the new administration would be friendly to them. Further Kennedy hoped to persuade the Soviet Union and the other Warsaw Pact countries that the new administration bore them no ill-will and wanted to work with them for peace and prosperity.3.What is the nature of the struggle? This is a struggle for peace, democracy and prosperity. The enemies of the struggle are tyranny, poverty, disease, war and natural disasters. These enemies are the common enemies of all of us.4.The functions of Chinese President?LeaderTo serve the people as a servant.5. What does “torch” refer to?The torch refers to the spirit of the First Revolution. The First Revolution refers to the War of Independence. It is considered to be the first successful bourgeois revolution in the world.Lesson Nine The Bluest Eye1. Symbol of The bluest eyesIt refers to goodness happiness and beauty in the white society, while blackness is perceived ugliness.Pecola’s greatest desire is to have blue eyes. She believes that her ugliness is the source of all her misery and that having blue eyes will be the key to happiness. She is convinced that if she had blue eyes, she would become pretty and happy that a ll her problems would be gone. She would become a beautiful girl loved by everyone.2. Wind and Snow(最后一段)the author describes how Pecola walks away from the house in a cold wind. A cold wind is blowing and snow is dying on the pavement, which implies that something in Pecola’s heart also has dead. The cold wind and snow reflect the coldness Pecola feels after the event; the coldness in nature reflects the coldness in human relationships.。

1Unit 2 Vocabulary ReadingHey everyone! It's me again, your favorite 4th grade student. Today I want to share a story using all the new vocabulary words we learned in Unit 2 of our English textbook. Get ready for an adventurous tale full of exciting action!Last summer, my family decided to go on a camping trip to the forest. We packed all our gear into the car trunk - tents, sleeping bags, cooking supplies, everything! The drive there took forever. "Are we there yet?" I kept asking impatiently from the backseat. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we arrived at the campsite. As soon as we got out of the car, the fresh air and earthy smell of the forest hit me. The trees towered high above, their branches swaying gently in the breeze. My little sister ran ahead excitedly onto the hiking trail. "Wait up!" I called after her. Up ahead was a shallow stream, the water gurgling over the rocks. We spent the afternoon exploring the area around our campsite. That night, we roasted marshmallows over the crackling campfire under the starry sky. Between bites of gooey s'mores, I peered around cautiously, imagining bears or wolves lurking in the darkness just beyond our tents. I felt a chill run down my spine. After a few scary stories, it was finally time for bed. I stayed awake for a while listening to the eerie hoots of an owl nearby. The next morning, I woke to the chirping of birds outside my tent. I unzipped the door and the bright sunlight flooded in, stinging my eyes. As I stepped out, my foot squelched in the dewy grass. After a quick breakfast, we decided to go on a hike deeper into the forest. I was eager to explore but also a bit nervous about getting lost.We followed the winding dirt path under a canopy of trees, ferns and wildflowers lining the sides of the trail. Up ahead, I spotted a deer drinking from the stream. It froze when it noticed us, its ears perking up. Then it was gone in a flash, bounding away through the bushes. A little while later, we came across a towering waterfall cascading down the rocky cliffside. The thunderous roar of the pounding water was deafening up close. On our way back to the campsite, dark rain clouds started rolling in overhead. "We'd better hurry before we get drenched!" Dad warned. But it was too late - within minutes, raindrops werepelting down in sheets. We rushed along the muddy path, drenched but laughing at our misfortune. By the time we reached the tents, we were soaked to the bone and shivering. That evening as the rain let up, we gathered around the campfire again trying to get warm and dry off. Suddenly, I heard a rustle in the bushes behind us. A huge black bear lumbered out onto the trail, startlingly close! We all froze in shock as the bear paused and sniffed the air, catching the scent of our food. "Everybody stay calm and back away slowly," Dad whispered urgently. To my relief, the bear seemed uninterested and turned around, ambling away into the trees. My heart was pounding out of my chest! That was my closest ever encounter with a wild animal. On our final day of camping, we went for one last hike down to the lake. The morning fog hung low over the glassy water, obscuring the view across to the other side. A loon swooped down, its haunting call echoing across the lake's surface. As the mist burned off, we could see the hills rising up all around the shoreline, hugging the lake. What an incredible view! All too soon, it was time to pack up and head home. As we pulled away, I looked back at the entrance to the campground feeling sad to leave. I knew I would cherish the memories of thiscamping trip forever - getting back to nature, seeing wildlife up close, sleeping under the stars. Despite a few harrowing moments, it was an amazing adventure. I couldn't wait to go camping again next summer!篇2Unit 2 Vocabulary ReadingHi everyone! Today we're going to read a story that will help us practice some of the vocabulary words from Unit 2 of our English textbook. I really like this story because it's about a group of friends going on an adventure in the countryside. Get ready to learn some new words! One sunny Saturday morning, Sam, Alex, Lily and Jaden decided to go on a hike in the woods near their town. They packed some snacks and water in their backpacks, put on their hiking boots, and set off feeling very excited. As they walked along the trail, they admired the beautiful scenery around them. The trees were so tall and the leaves were a vibrant green color. Lily pointed out a squirrel scurrying up the trunk of an oak tree. "Look at that cute little squirrel!" she exclaimed. After hiking for about an hour, they reached a clearing in the woods with a gurgling stream running through it. "This is the perfect spot for a break," said Sam. They took off their backpacks and sat down on the grassy bank of the stream.Jaden pulled out his binoculars from his backpack. "Check this out," he said, handing them to Alex. Alex looked through them and spotted a red fox trotting across the clearing. "Wow, how cool!" he said in amazement.Lily took a big gulp from her water bottle, feeling parched from their hike. Then she reached into her backpack and took out some granola bars to share with her friends. "I'm starving!" she said as she munched on one. After finishing their snacks, the four friends decided to explore further upstream. They carefully made their way across the stream by stepping on some rocks poking out of the water. Sam slipped a little on one of the mossy rocks, but Alex reached out his hand just in time to steady him. "Thanks, that was a close call!" said Sam, relieved. As they continued upstream, they came across a beaver dam made of sticks and mud across the stream. "Incredible, it's huge!" said Jaden in awe. The dam had created a large, still pond on one side. They noticed some ripples on the surface of the water. "Didyou see that? I think there are fish swimming in there," whispered Alex.On the other side of the pond was a grassy meadow with wildflowers blooming in vibrant shades of purple, yellow and orange. Lily bent down and gently picked a yellow dandelion. "These flowers are so pretty," she said, admiring it.The group decided to rest for a while in the sun-drenched meadow. As they lay on the soft grass, Lily made a daisy chain necklace out of the white flowers scattered around them. Sam closed his eyes and took a deep breath, smelling the sweet aroma of the wildflowers in the warm air. After a while, they noticed some gray clouds drifting in and blocking the sun. "I think we'd better start heading back before it rains," suggested Jaden. So they gathered their things and began the hike back to the trailhead.Just as they reached the edge of the woods, they felt the first few drops of rain. By the time they made it back to the parking lot, it was pouring! They hurried into Sam's dad's car, giggling about getting caught in the downpour. As they drove back into town, they reflected on their adventurous day out in nature. "That was so much fun, I can'twait to go on another hike!" said Alex. The otherswholeheartedly agreed, already looking forward to their next outdoor excursion with friends.THE ENDI hope you enjoyed reading this story and practicing some of our new vocabulary words like hiking, scenery, clearing, gurgling, binoculars, parched, steady, incredible, meadow, vibrant, aroma, and downpour. Let me know if you have any other questions!篇3Unit 2 Vocabulary ReadingHey guys! It's me again with another reading all about the awesome vocabulary words we learned in Unit 2 of our English book. I tried to make it fun and interesting by creating a little story using all the words. I really hope you enjoy it! Let me know if you have any other ideas for vocabulary stories. It was a beautiful spring day and I couldn't wait to go outside and play. I put on my jacket since it was still a bit chilly and headed out the door. My dog Rufus was so excited, his tail wagging a mile a minute. We walked down the sidewalk toward the park, breathing in the fresh air. When we arrived, I noticed a group of kids already there on the playground equipment. "Hey, can I join you guys?" I called out, giving them a friendly wave. They nodded enthusiastically and I ran over.First I tried out the slide, zooming down at top speed. "Woo-hoo!" I shouted. That was so thrilling! Next I climbed up to the highest point of the monkey bars. I felt so brave up there, carefully making my way across while Rufus watched worriedly from below. After a while, I got a bit hot from all that exercise so I took off my jacket. I noticed some birds happily chirping in a nearby tree. "Listen to those cheerful little birds singing their tunes!" I said to my new friends. One of them pointed up at the sky and said "Yeah, and look at those clouds. That one looks just like a dog!"We all gazed up at the puffy white clouds, trying to spot different shapes and objects in them. "You're right, that one does look like a pup!" I agreed. "And that one over there looks like a giant ice cream cone!" Another kid chimed in, "With hot fudge sauce dripping down the sides! Now I'm getting hungry."Suddenly, Rufus started barking like crazy. I looked over and saw he had found a bouncy ball under the swing set. "Good boy, Rufus! You found a fun new toy to play with," I praised him. Ipicked up a stick from the ground and started tossing the ball for him to catch. The other kids thought this looked like a blast, so they joined in, taking turns throwing the ball. After we had all worked up an appetite from playing so hard, I reached into my backpack and pulled out a bag of trail mix to share with everyone. "Snack time!" I announced as I opened up the bag. We all munched on the tasty mixture of nuts, seeds, dried fruit and chocolate chips."Mm, this is so yummy and crunchy! My favorite part is the raisins," said one of the girls. Another boy disagreed, "Nuh-uh, the chocolate chips are definitely the best!" We giggled and joked about our favorite trail mix ingredients. All full of energy from our snack, we decided to have a bouncy ball contest to see who could throw it the farthest. We drew a line in the dirt as the starting point and took turns giving it our best over-hand throw. Rufus happily chased after the ball every time, bringing it obediently back to us.In the end, I was declared the Bouncy Ball Toss champion! My friends cheered and congratulated me. I gave Rufus a big hug for being such a good sports assistant.Just then, we heard the school bell in the distance which meant it was time to head back to class. We reluctantly said our goodbyes, already looking forward to meeting up at the park again tomorrow. As we walked home, I thought about what an awesome time I'd had playing at the park with my new friends and beloved dog by my side. I couldn't wait to learn more fun vocabulary words in our next English unit!。
六年级下册第二单元全家人去野餐英文作文
六年级下册第二单元全家人去野餐英文作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1A Family Picnic AdventureLast Saturday was such a beautiful sunny day that my parents decided it would be perfect for a family picnic. We don't go on picnics very often, so I was really excited! In the morning, mom and dad made a bunch of delicious food to bring with us. Mom made her famous potato salad and deviled eggs. Dad grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs. They also packed bags of chips, carrot and celery sticks, apple slices, and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for dessert. My mouth was watering just thinking about all the yummy food!My little brother Jacob helped by putting ice and drinks into the cooler. He accidently dropped one of the juice bottles on the floor though, making a big sticky mess. "Jacob! Be more careful next time," mom scolded him. Jacob felt bad and helped clean it up right away.Once everything was ready, we loaded it all into the car and headed out. Dad drove us to Willow Creek Park, which has a really nice picnic area right next to a creek. We found a good spot beneath some big oak trees and set out the blankets and chairs. As soon as we had picked the perfect picnic location, my older sister Jessica ran off to explore, like she always does. "Don't go too far!" Dad called after her. I decided to join her and we wandered down the creek a little ways, watching for cool rocks, frogs, or other interesting things. After a little while, dad called us back over to the picnic area because the food was ready. We dug right in, piling our plates high with all the tasty dishes. The hamburgers were hot off the grill and so juicy! Everything tasted wonderful. While we ate, some birds came around looking for crumbs. A squirrel even scampered right up beside us, probably hoping we would share some food. Jacob thought it was hilarious and kept tossing it bits of bread and chips until mom told him that was enough.Once we had our fill of the main dishes, it was time for dessert. The chocolate chip cookies were still warm and melty from being out in the sun. They were pretty messy to eat, butcrazy delicious at the same time. We were all happily stuffed by the end. After eating, Jessica, Jacob and I decided to go down and splash around in the shallow creek for a little while. The water was freezing cold, but felt so refreshing on the hot day. We spent a long time skipping rocks, building dams with sticks and rocks, and just playing around in the creek. We didn't want to get too wet though because we didn't have a change of clothes. As it started to get later in the afternoon, we headed back up to the picnic area where mom and dad were packing everything up. I didn't want the fun day to end, but I was feeling pretty tired from all that fresh air and activity. On the drive home, Jacob fell asleep almost right away. Jessica and I were pretty zonked too, so it was a pretty quiet ride. Once we got home, dad worked on cleaning up the coolers and dishes from the picnic while mom put away the leftovers. I took a nice shower to get all the creek water and dirt off, and it felt so good to put on fresh, clean clothes. After showers, we all just relaxed on the couch, feeling happy and content from our adventure out in nature. Jessica and Jacob were arguing about something silly, which is pretty normal forthem. I just smiled, thinking about what a nice family memory we had made that day.Picnics are such a great way for families to spend quality time together. You get to enjoy delicious food, be outdoors in a pretty setting, and just slow down and make memories. I felt very lucky that my parents still make an effort to do fun things like picnics with us kids, even though we're getting older. I know I'll look back really fondly on days like this when I'm grown up. I can't wait for our next family picnic!篇2A Family PicnicWow, I'm so excited to share with you my amazing family picnic adventure! Last Sunday, my parents surprised us with a special family outing, and let me tell you, it was a blast! It all started when Mom and Dad woke us up bright and early. My little sister, Emma, and I were still half-asleep, rubbing our eyes and wondering what was going on. But then Dad announced, "Get ready, kids! We're going on a picnic today!"Emma and I squealed with delight. A picnic? That sounded like so much fun! We quickly got dressed and helped Mom packa huge basket with all sorts of delicious treats – sandwiches, fruits, cookies, and even our favorite chocolate cake!Once we had everything ready, we loaded up the car and hit the road. The drive took about an hour, but it felt like no time at all because we were singing along to our favorite tunes and playing silly car games. Finally, we arrived at the most beautiful park I had ever seen. It was like a scene straight out of a storybook – lush green meadows, towering trees, and a sparkling lake in the distance. Mom found the perfect spot under a big oak tree, and we laid out our blankets and set up our picnic spread. As soon as we started unpacking the food, the most amazing aroma filled the air. My mouth was watering, and I couldn't wait to dig in! But first, we played a game of frisbee to work up an appetite. Emma and I chased each other around, laughing and shrieking with joy, while Mom and Dad cheered us on.After burning off some energy, we gathered around the picnic blanket and enjoyed the most delicious feast. The sandwiches were so fresh and tasty, and the fruits were juicy and sweet. But the star of the show was Mom's homemade chocolate cake – it was absolute heaven!Once we had our fill, we lounged on the blankets, soaking up the warm sunshine and listening to the birds chirping in the trees. Dad even taught us how to identify different bird calls, which was really cool.As the afternoon wore on, we decided to explore the park a bit more. We found a gorgeous trail that led down to the lake, and we spent some time skipping stones across the glassy surface. Emma and I even spotted a few ducks swimming along, and we tried our best to imitate their quacking sounds, much to Mom and Dad's amusement. On our way back to the picnic spot, we came across a beautiful flower meadow. Mom showed us how to make daisy chains, and before long, we had created colorful crowns and necklaces adorned with the vibrant blooms. As the sun began to set, we packed up our belongings and headed back to the car, tired but incredibly happy. The ride home was quiet, as Emma and I dozed off, dreaming of the wonderful day we had just experienced.Looking back, that family picnic was one of the most magical days of my life. It was a simple outing, but it was filled with so much joy, laughter, and quality time together as a family. I'll always cherish the memories of running through the meadows, indulging in Mom's delicious baking, and creating beautiful flower crowns with my sister.Family picnics are truly special occasions that bring everyone closer together. They offer a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and simply enjoy each other's company in the beauty of nature. I can't wait for our next family adventure, but for now, I'll just relive the wonderful moments from our picnic day over and over again in my mind.篇3A Fun Family PicnicLast Sunday was such a beautiful sunny day that my parents decided it would be the perfect time for our family to go on a picnic. We don't get to do fun outings like that very often since my parents both work a lot. But on this particular Sunday, they didn't have any work and the weather was gorgeous, so a picnic seemed like an awesome idea!In the morning, my mom woke me and my little brother up early. "Get dressed, kids! We're going on a picnic today," she announced cheerfully. I was really excited when I heard that. Picnics are so much fun! We quickly got ready and then helped my parents get everything prepared. My dad packed up the big picnic basket with all sorts of delicious food. There were sandwiches, fruits, vegetables, chips, cookies, and even a thermos full of lemonade. My mom gathered up a big blanket for us to sit on, a football for playing catch, a frisbee, and some other outdoor toys and games. Once we had everything loaded into the car, we were ready to go!We drove for about 30 minutes until we reached a huge park with lots of open green fields and some woods surrounding it. "This is the perfect picnic spot!" my dad declared as he parked the car. We all piled out and my dad and I worked together to carry all of the picnic supplies over to a nice shady area underneath some big oak trees. After we spread out the blanket, my mom unpacked all the food from the basket. "Lunch is served!" she announced with a smile. Everything looked and smelled so yummy. We all dug in happily, eating the tasty sandwiches along with chips, fruits and veggies. The lemonade was nice and refreshing too. We hadn't even finished eating yet and I was already having a blast.Once our bellies were full, my dad suggested we play a family game of football to run around and work off some of those calories we had just consumed. He divided us into two teams - him and my brother versus me and my mom. Then westarted tossing the football back and forth, trying to get it into the other team's "end zone" which was just a few yards away between two trees. It was a really tight game that went back and forth for a while. My dad is huge and throws the football really hard, so he was tough to stop. But my mom and I made a great team too. We ended up winning by just one point! My brother cried a little about losing, but my dad gave him a big hug and told him he played like a champ. After that, we decided to take a little break and just relax for a bit under the shade of the oak trees. My dad got a bit sleepy and started snoring loudly. My mom nudged me and we both laughed about how silly he looked and sounded.I noticed that the frisbee was still in the picnic basket, so I grabbed it and asked my brother if he wanted to toss it around with me for some fun. He cheered up quickly and eagerly agreed. We spread out a little ways apart and started throwing the frisbee back and forth, trying to make cool curve shots and jumping to catch them. A few times the frisbee sailed past one of us and we had to go chasing after it, which made us both laugh. After playing frisbee for a while, I got an idea. "Why don't we see if we can throw the frisbee and actually hit Dad while he'ssleeping to wake him up?" I suggested with a mischievous grin. My brother's eyes lit up at the thought of pranking our dad like that. We carefully lined up the perfect angle and I gently threw the frisbee, aiming right for my dad's belly. The frisbee soared through the air...and landed right on target! My dad's eyes flew open in surprise as the frisbee plopped down onto his stomach. "What the...?" he sputtered, looking around confused for a second before seeing my brother and me doubled over in laughter. Once he realized what we had done, he let out a big belly laugh too."Oh, you little rascals are gonna get it now!" my dad boomed as he picked up the frisbee and started charging towards us, pretending to be an angry monster. My brother and I squealed and took off running with my dad close behind us. Eventually he caught us and started tickling me mercilessly until I could barely breathe from laughter. After we had settled down a bit, my mom said it was getting late in the afternoon and we should start packing up soon so we could head home. We all pitched in and got everything loaded back into the car. As we drove away from the park, I looked back and felt so happy and grateful that we had been able to spend such a fun day together as a family.Picnics are awesome! I'll always remember what a blast we had on this particular picnic day - playing games, tossing the frisbee, and just being silly together. My dad may have looked a little silly himself while sleeping and snoring loudly. But that's okay, because all those fun and silly times are what make picnics so memorable and special when you get to share them with your whole family.篇4A Fun Family PicnicLast Saturday was such a nice sunny day that my family decided to go on a picnic. We don't get to do fun outings like that very often, so I was really excited! My mom and dad started getting everything ready early in the morning.First, they packed a huge cooler full of food and drinks. We had all kinds of good stuff - sandwiches, fruit, veggies, chips, cookies, and even a chocolate cake for dessert. My dad also packed a bunch of waters and juices to keep us hydrated in the warm weather. That cooler was really heavy when it was all packed up!Next, my mom gathered up all the picnic supplies we would need. She packed a big blanket to sit on, paper plates, napkins, plasticware, cups, and even a frisbee and football for after we ate. She had this huge tote bag stuffed full of everything. While my parents were packing the food and supplies, my brother Jason and I had to clean up the back area of our van to make room for everything. It was kind of messy back there with all our sports gear and stuff. We finally got it all loaded up and were ready to go by 10am.The picnic area my dad picked was at this really nice park about 30 minutes from our house. It had lots of big trees for shade, a playground for the kids, and even a little creek running through it. As soon as we got there, my dad pulled the van into a shady spot and we all piled out, grabbing the cooler, blanket, and tote bags.My mom picked the perfect spot right next to the creek. The sound of the water gently flowing was so peaceful and relaxing. We rolled out the big blanket and my dad set up the cooler at one end of it. For the next hour or so, we just relaxed, snacked on chips and fruit, and enjoyed the beautiful day outside.Around noon, my mom unpacked the delicious lunch she had made. We had turkey sandwiches, pasta salad, carrot sticks, and more. It was all so tasty after our morning of fresh air! My dad let me have a can of root beer as a special treat, which wasawesome. We stayed at our picnic spot for a couple more hours, laughing and enjoying each other's company. After we had all finished eating, Jason and I really wanted to explore the creek a little bit. We spent probably an hour carefully walking along the banks, trying to catch little minnows and other critters with our hands. The water was ice cold but felt so refreshing on a hot day. My dad came over after a while to make sure we didn't fall in!Once we had finished creek exploring, my dad got out the frisbee and football for a family game of catch and tossing around. Even my mom joined in for a little while, though she's not really the athletic type. We just had so much fun running around and playing together. As the afternoon started winding down, we finally packed everything back up into the van around 4pm. I was exhausted from the fresh air and exercise, but felt so happy. Getting to spend that quality time as a family, disconnected from screens and technology, was really special. On the ride home, I literally fell asleep in the back seat. When we got home, my dad had to carry me inside and put me on the couch for a little nap. Even though I was wiped out, I felt so luckyto have a family that made fun memories like our picnic day. I can't wait for our next family adventure!篇5The Perfect Family PicnicLast Saturday was absolutely gorgeous – sunny and warm with just a slight breeze. It was the kind of day that was just begging for us to get outside and do something fun as a family. My parents decided it would be the perfect opportunity for a picnic at the park!I love picnics. There's just something so special about packing up a bunch of tasty foods, grabbing a blanket, and heading out to eat outdoors while enjoying the fresh air and scenery. It always feels like a little adventure! This particular picnic turned out to be one of the best we've ever had.The morning started with my mom rounding up me, my little brother Tommy, and my dad to help get everything ready. Tommy and I were put in charge of gathering up the picnic blanket, napkins, plates, utensils, and a small cooler for drinks. Dad took care of packing up all the delicious food mom had prepared.Mom really outdid herself with the picnic basket goodies. There were fresh tomatoes, carrots and celery sticks, a couple different kinds of cheeses, grapes, and even some berries for snacking. For our main course, she made up a huge batch of her famous chickpea salad sandwiches on soft whole wheat bread. She even whipped up a batch of double chocolate brownies for dessert! My favorite foods are all the salty, savory snacks but I have to admit those brownies were heavenly.Once we had everything loaded into the car, we headed off to Willow Creek Park. It's a huge park right in the heart of our little town, with tons of hiking trails, playgrounds, wide open fields, and shady spots under trees that are just perfect for picnicking. We picked out a grassy area near the creek but still in shade of some big oak trees.Getting everything unpacked and set up was a team effort. Mom arranged all the food on the blanket while dad got the cooler situated and made sure we had everything we needed. Tommy and I were told to frolic and play for a bit to work up our appetites before we ate. Typical kids, we didn't need to be told twice! We spent a good half hour running around on the grassy hills, playing tag and just being silly. When we rejoined ourparents on the picnic blanket, we were absolutely famished. The spread mom had laid out looked even more mouth-watering than it had when we packed it up.We all dug in, piling up our plates and just savoring every delicious bite. The chickpea salad sandwiches were so flavorful and satisfying. The fresh veggies were perfectly crisp and refreshing. And those brownies...oh man, they really hit the spot for a sweet treat. We cleaned up every last crumb! After we'd eaten our fill, dad suggested we take a walk along the creek to help digest our food a bit. So we spent a pleasant hour just strolling along the water, watching for fish and birds, and just enjoying being together outdoors. Tommy found a couple neat rocks that he tucked into his pocket as souvenirs. At one point, dad pointed out a treehouse hidden up in the branches of a huge oak tree a little ways off the path. Of course, Tommy and I just had to go check it out! We spent a hilarious twenty minutes exploring the rickety old treehouse, which was stocked with some old toys, comic books, and even a sleeping bag. We had a great time making up stories about who had built it and imagining we were explorers who had stumbled across an abandoned fort. Finally, we made our way back to our picnic spot, feeling happily tired and content from our outdoor adventures. As we were repacking our things to head home, a family of ducks came waddling up from the creek. We all stopped to watch them for a few minutes before dad broken out the last of the bread crusts for us to toss them as treats. The ducks gobbled up every crumb eagerly as they quacked their thanks to us.I just loved every minute of that picnic. Getting to spend quality time together as a family, away from screens and distractions, is something I always cherish. We were able to relax, recharge, and just revel in each other's company while also enjoying nature. Days like that create such special memories. On the drive home, my parents reminisced about picnics they went on when they were kids. Listening to their happy stories made me feel grateful that they've passed on that wonderful tradition to me and Tommy. I could definitely see myself taking my own kids篇6A Fun Family PicnicLast Sunday was such a beautiful and sunny day, and my family decided to go on a picnic together. We haven't had afamily outing in a long time, so everyone was really excited about it.In the morning, my mom and dad woke up early to prepare the food and drinks for the picnic. They made all sorts of delicious things like sandwiches, salads, fruits, and even baked some cookies and brownies. The aroma filled our house, and it made my mouth water just thinking about it.While my parents were busy in the kitchen, my brother and I helped pack the picnic basket and get all the other things ready, like blankets, chairs, and games. We also brought along a frisbee and a ball, so we could play after eating.Around 10 o'clock, we loaded everything into our car and headed off to the park. It was about a 30-minute drive from our house, and we sang along to our favorite songs on the radio to make the time pass quicker. When we arrived at the park, it was already quite crowded with other families who had the same idea as us. We found a nice spot under a big oak tree, laid out our blankets, and set up our picnic area.Once everything was ready, we dug into the delicious food my parents had prepared. The sandwiches were so fresh andtasty, and the salads were crisp and flavorful. The cookies and brownies were definitely the highlight for me and my brother –they were still warm and gooey, just the way we like them. After filling our bellies, we played a few rounds of frisbee and kicked the ball around. It was so much fun running around and getting some exercise in the fresh air. We even had a little competition to see who could throw the frisbee the farthest – my dad won, but only because he's a lot taller than the rest of us!As the day went on, we took a leisurely stroll around the park, admiring the beautiful scenery and the families enjoying their picnics too. There were ducks swimming in the pond, and we stopped to feed them some breadcrumbs.Around 4 o'clock, we started packing up our things and getting ready to head home. We were all a little tired from the day's activities, but it was such a wonderful way to spend quality time together as a family. On the drive back, we talked about our favorite moments from the picnic and how we should do it more often. My brother and I even suggested having a picnic for my dad's birthday next month, and they agreed it was a great idea.Overall, it was an amazing day filled with laughter, good food, and precious memories. I'm so grateful to have a loving family who enjoys spending time together and making each other happy. I can't wait for our next family adventure!。

五一劳动节干的事情五句话的英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1What I Did on Labor DayLabor Day was so much fun this year! It's a special day off from school where we get to celebrate all the hard workers. My mom works really hard at her job, so we made sure to do lots of fun things together on her day off.In the morning, we had a big pancake breakfast. My dad made his famous chocolate chip pancakes. They're my favorite! We had a pancake eating contest to see who could eat the most.I won by eating 7 whole pancakes! Mom and Dad were impressed. Afterwards, we played some board games like Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders. I beat them both times. Games are my specialty. After breakfast, we went to the community parade downtown. There were lots of cool floats and performers. My favorite was the marching band playing patriotic tunes. The fire trucks were really neat too with their shiny red paint and loudsirens. We cheered and waved our American flags as the parade went by. So much fun! When the parade ended, we had a picnic lunch at the park. Mom packed a delicious fried chicken with her signature potato salad. I love when she makes that! We laid out our blanket under the big oak tree and just enjoyed the beautiful sunny day. Some squirrels even came up looking for crumbs. I tried to make friends with them, but they were a little shy.In the afternoon, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a backyard barbecue. All my aunts, uncles, and cousins came over too. Us kids had a blast running around playing tag and freeze dance. The adults visited and laughed a lot. Grandpa grilled up some amazing hamburgers and hot dogs. We had a huge spread of food, including corn on the cob, baked beans, watermelon, and more! I probably ate way too much, but it was just too good to stop. After we stuffed ourselves, we had a big game of kickball in the backyard. The kids against the adults! We kids played hard and managed to win by a few runs. Grandpa said we have a promising kickball team. Once it started getting dark, we lit off some small fireworks and sparklers. Writing our names in the air with the bright sparklers was my favorite part. I tried to write mywhole name, but ran out of sparkler towards the end. I'll have to practice more next year.By the time we got home, I was completely tuckered out. We watched a funny movie together as a family before I could barely keep my eyes open any longer. What an amazing Labor Day celebrating all the workers like my hard working mom! I can't wait to make it an annual tradition with fun activities, delicious food, and family time. Those are the most important parts of any holiday if you ask me! I'm already looking forward to next year.篇2What I Did on Labor DayLabor Day is one of my favorite holidays! It's a day when we celebrate all the hard workers and their important jobs that keep our society running smoothly. This year for Labor Day, I got to do lots of fun activities with my family. In the morning, my mom let me sleep in a little later than usual since it was a holiday and I didn't have school. When I finally woke up around 9am, the delicious smell of my dad's pancakes was wafting through the house. He makes the most amazing pancakes - fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and loaded with chocolate chips and bananas. My favorite! After devouring a big stack of the pancakes, my parents said we were going to spend the day at the park having a picnic and playing games. I was so excited! We packed up a cooler with sandwiches, snacks, and juice boxes and headed to Walker Park near our house. When we got to the park, it was pretty crowded with other families who had the same idea as us. Kids were running around everywhere, playing frisbee, kicking balls, and climbing on the jungle gyms. The playgrounds there are awesome, with so many different structures to climb on and explore. There are also wide open fields perfect for tossing a baseball or flying a kite.My dad and I first played a game of catch with a tennis ball while my mom set up our picnic spot on one of the tables under a shady tree. Then my dad helped me fly the kite I got for my birthday. It was a little tricky at first getting it up into the air, but soon it was soaring high above us. We took turns running with the kite string until our arms were tired. For lunch, we had yummy turkey sandwiches, baby carrots, apple slices, and my mom's famous chocolate chip cookies for dessert. The cookies are my absolute favorite - they're crispy on the edges but soft and gooey in the middle. I probably ate too many of them, but it was a special day so my parents didn't mind. After we ate, my dad suggested we take a walk around the trails that loop through the woods surrounding the park. It was nice getting some shade from the hot sun that had come out. We spotted lots of squirrels scampering across the path and listened to the birds chirping in the trees. The flowers were also starting to bloom, making everything smell so pretty and fresh. When we got back to the picnic area, some other families were playing frisbee and kicking around a soccer ball. My parents asked if I wanted to join in, and of course I said yes! Even though I'm not the best frisbee thrower or soccer player, it was still really fun running around and trying my best. The other kids were really nice and didn't care that I'm not on a team or anything. After a couple hours of nonstop running and playing, I was getting pretty tired. We cleaned up our picnic area and headed back home. In the car, I could feel my eyelids getting heavier and heavier. Playing outside in the warm sunshine always makes me so sleepy! When we got home, I took a nice long nap to re-energize. Then for dinner, we had hamburgers and hot dogs hot off the grill along with corn on the cob, baked beans, and watermelon slices. My dad manned the grill and did such an amazing job. Those burgers were juicy and delicious! After dinner, we went outside and I got to light some sparklers to celebrate the holiday. Waving those bright, glowing sticks around in the evening air felt so magical and festive. My parents let me light them carefully one by one until they finally burned out.As I got ready for bed that night, my whole body felt so tired but very happy. Labor Day had been such a wonderful day spent with my favorite people, enjoying the beautiful spring weather, eating delicious food, and just appreciating each other's company. I already can't wait for next year's celebration! Those are the kind of days that make me feel very thankful for my loving family and all the hard workers who make holidays like this possible.篇3What I Did for Labor DayLabor Day is one of my favorite holidays! It's a day off from school and a chance to relax and have fun with my family. This year's Labor Day was extra special because my cousins came to visit us from out of town. The day started off with a big breakfast that my mom made. There were pancakes, eggs, sausages, and my favorite -hashbrowns! My cousins Lily and Jack had never tried hashbrowns before so I made sure to give them lots. They loved them! After we finished eating, we all got changed into our swim suits because we were going to go to the pool.My dad had to work for a few hours in the morning, but he promised he would meet us at the pool later. So my mom packed a cooler full of drinks, snacks, and sandwiches for lunch. We loaded up the car and headed to the community pool. When we got there, it was really crowded! I guess everyone had the same idea to go swimming on Labor Day. We found a few chairs together and set up our towels and the cooler. The pool area has two big swimming pools - one for just swimming laps and a bigger one with water slides and a kiddie area. There's also a hot tub for adults.Lily, Jack, and I couldn't wait to get in the water. We ran over to the big pool first. The water was a little cold at first but it felt great once we got used to it. We spent a long time going down the biggest water slide over and over again. We must have gone on it like a hundred times! My cheeks were hurting from smiling and laughing so much. After a while, we decided to take a break and have our lunch sandwiches. My dad had gotten done with work and met up withus. Once we recharged with food, we headed over to the smaller kid pool area. This area has a huge bucket that fills up with water and then dumps out every few minutes, splashing everyone below. We had a blast running around and getting drenched over and over again! As the day went on, we alternated between the big pool slides and the kiddie area. When we finally felt a little prune-y from being in the water too long, we got out and relaxed on the chairs for a while. Mom and Dad even let us get ice cream from the snack bar!Eventually it was getting late in the afternoon and the pool would be closing soon, so we cleaned up our stuff and headed home. We were all exhausted from swimming all day but had the best time. When we got back, we ordered pizza for dinner and watched a movie together. Lily, Jack, and I could barely keep our eyes open towards the end! It was such a fun-filled Labor Day spent with my favorite cousins. After they went back home, I kept talking to my mom about all the memories we made that day. Going to the pool, doing bombard runs through the splash bucket area, Lily conquering her fear of the big slides, and jack doing a belly flop fully clothedwere just some of the highlights. It was truly an amazing Labor Day that I will never forget. I can't wait to make more fun summer memories once school gets out!篇4What I Did on Labor DayYay, it was Labor Day! Labor Day is one of my favorite holidays because it means no school and lots of fun. My mom didn't have to go to work either, so we could spend the whole day together as a family. In the morning, my dad made us all a big breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and sausages. My little sister got syrup all over her face which made us all laugh. After we cleaned up, my parents said we could do whatever we wanted for the day since it was a holiday. My sister and I cheered and jumped up and down.A day off to play? Yes please!First, my dad took us to the big park near our house. It was such a nice sunny day and the park was filled with families having picnics and kids running around. I went straight for the swings and pumped my legs as hard as I could to go super high. I love the feeling of flying through the air on the swing. My sisterpreferred the seesaw and tried to make me go up and down really fast which was fun but a little scary too! After playing on the swings and seesaw for a while, we decided to have a running race. We found a long straightaway and my dad marked the start and finish lines with some sticks on the ground. On your mark, get set, go! I took off as fast as my little legs could carry me. I was huffing and puffing but determined to win. In the end, my dad beat us all because his legs are so much longer. But I came in second place which was pretty good! When we got tired from all the racing and running around, we set up our picnic blanket under a shady tree. My mom had packed a delicious lunch of sandwiches, carrot sticks, grapes, and even some cookies for dessert. A few birds landed nearby hoping we would share some crumbs. As we ate our lunch, a squirrel came really close looking for a handout too. We watched it scamper around searching for food which was entertaining. After our picnic lunch, we walked around the pond area of the park. The ducks and geese swam up hopefully when they saw us, but my mom said we shouldn't feed them because human food isn't good for them. I liked watching the ducks glide across the water and listening to the geese honking at each other. Wealso spotted a big turtle sunning itself on a log. My sister said she wanted to take it home as a pet but my parents said no way!By the time we left the park, I was feeling pretty tired from my busy day of playing and running around in the sunshine. In the car on the way home, I started nodding off for a little nap. When we got home, my mom put on a movie for us to relax and lounge around. About halfway through, I fell into a deep sleep.I woke up just in time for dinner, which my dad had picked up from our favorite burger place. Weaho french fries and milkshakes too which was a special treat. After dinner, we played Go Fish and Crazy Eights until it was time for bed. I brushed my teeth, put on my pajamas, and snuggled into my cozy bed feeling happy after such a fun Labor Day spent with my family. The end! How was that? I tried to write it from the perspective of an elementary student describing their Labor Day activities like going to the park, having a picnic, playing on swings and seesaws, racing, watching ducks, and just spending quality time with their family. I kept the language simple but detailed to match a child's voice. Let me know if you need any changes!篇5It Was the Best May Day Ever!Yay, May Day was here at last! May Day is one of my favorite holidays because it means no school and lots of fun activities. I had been counting down the days until May 1st for weeks. This year's May Day was going to be the most exciting one yet!The celebrations actually started the night before on April 30th. My whole family gathered together to make dumplings. Mama said dumplings are a traditional food to eat during May Day because their shape looks like nuggets of gold, which symbolizes wealth and prosperity. While we made the dumplings, Papa told us the legend of how May Day started. A long time ago, there were these peasants who weren't being treated fairly by their wealthy landlords. The peasants went on strike and refused to work until their demands for better pay and working conditions were met. After many protests, the landlords finally agreed to the peasants' terms. That first big protest by the peasants is why we now celebrate May Day as a workers' holiday.I loved getting to help make the dumplings. Mama let me crimp the edges with a fork to give them their distinctive shape. Gege (big brother) jokingly tried to steal some of the dumplings before they were cooked, but Mama swatted his hand away with her wooden spoon. Once they were all assembled, we boiledthem and ate them piping hot with soy sauce, vinegar and chili oil for dipping. They were so yummy in my tummy! The next morning, I woke up super early because I was so excited. I quickly got dressed in my new red shirt that Nainai (grandma) had sewn for me. She had embroidered beautiful flowers all over it. I ran outside to see if any of my cousins were there yet. Sure enough, Auntie Liu's car soon pulled up with Mei Mei and Chao Chao inside."Xiao Di Di!" Mei Mei squealed as she ran over to give me a big hug. Mei Mei is my favorite cousin. She's a year younger than me but we're best friends."Happy May Day!" I said, squeezing her tight. "Are you ready for the biggest May Day celebration ever?""You know it!" she replied, grinning from ear to ear to show off the gap where she had recently lost a tooth.Soon, the rest of our cousins and aunties and uncles arrived carrying baskets of food and bags full of games and activities. It was going to be a huge party! The guys started inflating a big rainbow bouncy castle in our yard while the ladies set up a buffet with all kinds of tasty noodle and rice dishes, dumplings, beef skewers, fresh watermelon and more.Once everything was ready, us kids ran straight for the bouncy castle. We took our shoes off and spent over an hour bouncing around like maniacs, seeing who could jump the highest and do the craziest flips. I was a bouncing machine! I must have worked up the best appetite ever because I was ravenous when Mama finally called us over for lunch.I piled my plate super high with noodles, dumplings and skewers. Papa always teases me about being a "little piggy" because of how much I can eat. While I was chowing down, some of my aunties and uncles got out tables and folding chairs to start playing games. First up was the egg carrying race, where you have to balance an egg in a spoon while walking quickly. The egg kept falling off my spoon and cracking on the ground. I was so clumsy! Luckily I got a second chance and managed to make it across the finish line for once.Next, we played tug-of-war which was awesome! Our side was me, Chao Chao, Auntie Yang and Uncle Bao against Mei Mei, Gege, Papa and Mama's team on the other side. I planted my feet into the ground and pulled with every ounce of strength I had. My turnip arms were bulging! We battled it out for what felt like forever, neither side letting up an inch. I could see Uncle Bao's face turning beet red from pushing so hard. Then finally,Mama's team started sliding towards us and we were able to pull them across the line! Our side let out a huge roar of victory as we collapsed in laughter on the grass. While the adults cleaned up from lunch, Gege taught the rest of us kids some traditional May Day games he had learned in school. First was篇6For Labor Day, I Had The Best Time!Labor Day is one of my favorite holidays! It's a day where we celebrate all the hardworking people and the awesome jobs they do. This year for Labor Day, I got to do so many fun things with my family.First, we slept in really late. Normally I have to wake up super early for school, but on Labor Day I got to sleep past 9am! When I finally woke up, my mom had made this huge breakfast with pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hash browns. My brother and I stuffed our faces until we could barely move. After breakfast, we all got dressed and went to the big Labor Day parade downtown. There were so many cool floats and people marching in the parade. My favorite was probably theconstruction workers - they had this gigantic bulldozer decorated with flags and balloons. How cool is that?! I also loved seeing the firefighters, police officers, doctors, and other workers who help keep our community safe and healthy. Everyone was cheering and waving little American flags. The whole parade made me feel really proud and patriotic. When the parade ended, we walked over to the park where they had set up all these fun activities and booths. I went straight for the dunk tank and threw balls to try to dunk the gym teacher from my school who was sitting over the water. On my third try, I finally dunked him! He came up spluttering and everyone was cracking up. That's what he gets for assigning so much homework.Next, my dad took us to this booth where a bunch of workers let kids try out their tools and equipment. I got to drill some holes, use a blowtorch (don't worry, it was just a tiny one!), and even operate this big machine that dug holes in the ground. All the workers were really nice and kept saying how we were the "future workforce". I thought that was pretty cool. We also stopped by the food trucks and I had the biggest corndog smothered in mustard - so delicious! After stuffing ourselves again, we were pretty tired, so we headed home. My brother and I begged and begged to be allowed to stay up late since we didn't have school the next day. Finally, my parents gave in and we all camped out in the living room to watch movies. We made a gigantic blanket fort, stuffed pillows everywhere, and my dad even let us have pizza and popcorn for dinner while we watched. I think I fell asleep halfway through the third movie feeling totally happy and content.Labor Day is seriously the best! We got to celebrate all the hardworking people by relaxing, eating tons of food, and having fun together as a family. I feel really lucky to live in a place where we can appreciate workers and their amazing jobs. I can't wait for the next Labor Day so we can do it all over again. Maybe next year I'll finally get to operate that big bulldozer!。

It was so awesome, I can't wait to tell you all about it.On Saturday morning, my mom woke me up bright and early. "Rise and shine, sleepyhead! We're going on a picnic today," she said in a sing-songy voice as she opened the curtains. Sunlight poured into my room and I blinked my eyes a few times to adjust.A picnic? That sounded pretty exciting!I jumped out of bed and hurriedly got dressed. My little sister Lily was already up and waiting for me in the kitchen. Mom had prepared a gigantic picnic basket, packed to the brim with all kinds of yummy foods and treats. There were sandwiches, fruit salad, potato chips, cookies, and even a thermos full of hot chocolate! My mouth was watering just looking at it all.Once we were ready, we piled into the car with our picnic supplies. Dad drove us about 20 minutes away to this huge, beautiful park I'd never been to before. It had rolling green hills, lots of trees, a playground, and even a little stream running through it. The perfect picnic spot!We found a nice shady area near the stream and set out our big blanket. Mom and Dad started unpacking all the food while Lily and I went exploring around the park. We chased butterflies, played tag, and I even caught a frog by the stream! After working up an appetite from all that running around, we joined Mom and Dad for the picnic feast. The sandwiches were stacked high with turkey, cheese, lettuce, and all my favorite toppings. The fruit salad had big juicy strawberries, oranges, grapes, and more. It was all so delicious! We washed it down with the creamy hot chocolate, even though it was a warm sunny day out. For dessert, we had chocolate chip cookies that were still warm and gooey from the car ride over. My favorite!Once our bellies were full and happy, Lily and I begged Mom and Dad if we could play some more. They agreed as long as we didn't wander too far away. We spent the next couple hours having a blast - climbing trees, skipping rocks across the stream, playing frisbee, and just generally being a couple of crazy kids! We only stopped when we were completely tuckered out.On the drive home, I could feel my eyelids getting heavier and heavier. All that fresh air and exercise really took it out of me.I dozed off as soon as we arrived back home, full of happy memories from our awesome picnic adventure. I had so much fun spending quality time together as a family and playing outdoors all day. We'll definitely have to go on another picnic again very soon!篇2My Awesome Outdoor Picnic AdventureOne sunny Saturday in May, my mom told me and my little brother that we were going to have a picnic! I was so excited because picnics are the best. You get to eat delicious food outside and run around and play games all day long.Mom made us help her pack the picnic basket with all our favorite foods. She made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, cut up carrots and celery sticks, packed a bag of potato chips, and baked two dozen chocolate chip cookies. My mouth was watering just thinking about all the tasty treats! She also brought a big jug of lemonade and a cozy blanket for us to sit on.After we finished packing, we all piled into the car with our picnic supplies. Dad drove us to Willow Park which has a hugegrassy area surrounded by tall trees. As soon as we got there, I spotted the perfect picnic spot underneath a big oak tree that would provide lots of nice shade.Dad spread out the blanket while Mom opened the picnic basket and set out all the food. I was starving, so I dug right in and gobbled down three sandwiches, a handful of potato chips, and two big celery sticks covered in a mountain of peanut butter. The sandwiches were so yummy with the creamy peanut butter and sweet jelly all smushed together between the soft bread. No one makes sandwiches as good as my mom!Once we had eaten our fill, it was time to play some games. Dad suggested we start with a game of frisbee, so he took an old beat up frisbee out of the car and we started tossing it back and forth. After a little while, my six-year-old brother Mason got bored with frisbee so we moved on to playing tag instead. We ran around the field chasing each other and laughing until we were completely out of breath. When we finally collapsed back onto the blanket panting, Mom brought out the chocolate chip cookies which gave us an energy boost to keep playing.Next, we decided to go on a nature walk and explore the hiking trails that wind through the wooded area of the park. The trees formed a shady canopy over the trail and birds werechirping all around us. I spotted a grey squirrel scurrying across the path in front of us carrying an acorn. Dad pointed out all the different kinds of trees to us like maple, oak, and pine. We even saw a tiny bright orange beetle crawling across a fallen log! The fresh outdoor air smelled so clean and rejuvenating. When we had completed the full loop of the nature trail, we headed back to our picnic spot feeling hot, sweaty, and a little bit sticky. Dad suggested we finish off our picnic day with a quick game of soccer using a ball and two trees as goalposts at either end of the field. We split into two teams, parents vs. kids, and started kicking the ball back and forth trying to score goals. Mom and Dad were clearly a little rusty, but Mason and I had a lot of energy left so we were able to run circles around them. We ended up beating them 5 goals to 3!By that point, the sun was starting to get lower in the sky, signaling that it was almost time to go home. We were all completely tuckered out from our exhausting day of eating and playing outside. As we packed up the picnic basket and blanket, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I had so much fun on our awesome picnic adventure. We'll definitely have to come back to Willow Park again very soon! When we arrived back home, I felt grimy from running around in the dirt and grass all day so I took a nice hot shower. Then I put on my comfy pajamas, climbed into bed, and passed out almost immediately. I had sweet dreams about running through the woods and chasing squirrels all night long. What a perfect picnic day!篇3An Awesome Outdoor Adventure!Wow, I'm still buzzing with excitement from the epic picnic adventure we had last weekend! It was honestly one of the most fun days of my whole entire life so far. I can't wait to tell you all about it!It started out as a pretty normal Saturday morning. I was lazing around in my pajamas, watching cartoons and munching on a big bowl of sugary cereal. The best way to start a weekend, am I right? Suddenly, Mom came into the living room with a huge grin on her face."Who wants to go on a picnic adventure today?" she asked in a really animated voice, doing a little dance. My little sister Amy and I just stared at her with our mouths hanging open for a second. A picnic? Really? Those were usually pretty boring affairs where we had to sit still on a blanket and be quiet while the adults chatted. But the way Mom said "adventure" made it sound like this was going to be something truly epic."Yeah, let's do it!" I exclaimed, instantly getting swept up in the idea. Amy joined in too with a big cheer. Any excuse to get outside and run around was good enough for us!Mom laughed at our enthusiasm. "Okay you two wild ones, go get dressed in your adventure clothes while I pack up the pic-a-nic baskets!"Amy and I raced each other upstairs, giggling and tripping over ourselves. I quickly threw on my favorite t-shirt with a fearsome t-rex on the front and a pair of tough cargo shorts. No fancy clothes for this outdoor expedition! I topped it off with my lucky hiking hat and a fresh pair of socks stuffed into mymud-encrusted rain boots. Once suited up, I rushed back downstairs, barely able to contain my bubbling excitement.Mom and Dad already had everything loaded up in the trusty old family van by the time we got outside. There were several big coolers and baskets piled up, making me wonder justhow much food they were bringing along. Dad gave us a big cheesy grin as we ran up."You two explorer kids ready to head off into the wild unknown?" he asked in an overly dramatic tone, puffing out his chest. We all laughed and piled into the van, practically bouncing off the walls with anticipation. The drive out to the forest took almost an hour, but it didn't feel that long at all. Amy and I spent the whole time gluing our faces to the windows, watching the city scenery gradually give way to rural farms and eventually thick woods. We kept shouting out every time we saw any cool wildlife like birds, squirrels or deer bounding through the trees. Before we knew it, Dad was turning down a long gravel road that led deeper into the densely forested area. Finally, he parked the van in a small clearing right next to a cheerfully babbling brook. The fresh, earthy smell of the forest surrounded us as we all eagerly piled out. I took a deep breath, grinning from ear to ear. This was gonna be awesome!"Grab what you can carry, troops!" Mom instructed in a faux military voice. "We'll make a few trips to get all the gear to the perfect spot."Hefting two big coolers, one in each hand, I led the way as we followed a narrow dirt trail further into the lush forest. The sounds of the gurgling brook provided a soothing backdrop to the various woodland critter noises all around us. A few minutes later, the trail opened up into a large grassy meadow ringed by towering pines and maple trees. It looked like a perfect picnic paradise!"This is the place!" Dad declared in a booming voice, dropping the camping chairs and blankets he'd been hauling. "Ok everyone, let's get set up for maximum fun!"We all got to work, quickly transforming the grassy meadow into the ultimate picnic basecamp. A few big blankets and thick outdoor rugs went down first to mark our territory. Next came the lightweight fold-up tables for all the food and supplies. Dad expertly set up the portable grill off to one side, getting the coals started for what he called "robust outdoor cuisine." Whatever that meant, I was sure it would be delicious! While the grown-ups finished prep, Amy and I went exploring a bit around the meadow's perimeter. We came across a few well-worn paths branching off in various directions that practically begged to be explored. Clusters of wildflowers in vibrant colors like red, yellow and purple dotted the grassy areasaround the towering trees. Best of all, there was the cheerful brook leisurely winding its way through the middle of the whole area.Eventually, the call of Mom's voice broke through the peaceful forest ambience. "Come and get it, you two! Time to eat!" She didn't have to tell us twice. Amy and I came bounding over like a pair of baby deer, ready to chow down on some serious picnic grub.Mom and Dad had really gone all out, packing basically every type of portable picnic delight you could imagine. There were typical sandwiches and salads, but also fried chicken, grilled hamburgers, corn on the cobs and even a few camping-style tin foil meal篇4An Unforgettable Picnic AdventureIt was a sunny Saturday morning and I was so excited! My parents had promised to take me and my little brother Tommy on a picnic. We love picnics because it means we get to eat outside, play games, and just have tons of fun. After packing a huge basket full of sandwiches, snacks, drinks and even a chocolate cake for dessert, we piled into the car. My dad drove us to this really pretty park with lots of big trees, a playground, and wide open grassy areas perfect for picnicking. As soon as we arrived, Tommy and I raced to find the best spot to set up our picnic blanket. We chose one right under a giant oak tree that would give us plenty of shade. My mom spread out the big red checkered blanket and we all plopped down. The first thing Tommy and I did was dig into the snacks! We had chips, cookies, grapes and even a thermos full of hot chocolate even though it wasn't cold out. After devouring most of the snacks, my dad reminded us to save room for the sandwiches and cake.Next it was time for the fun part - the games! We decided to play one of our favorites, frisbee. My dad is really good at throwing frisbees and can make them curve all over the place. Tommy and I ran all around chasing after it and laughing like crazy whenever it sailed over our heads. After getting tired from running so much, we took a break to eat our picnic lunch. My mom had made peanut butter and jellysandwiches which are my absolute favorite. She even cut off the crusts, just how I like them. We gulped down lemonade and munched on potato chips while squirrels and birds curiously watched us from the trees. For dessert, my dad dramatically unveiled the chocolate cake from the basket. He loves doing things like that to get us all excited. It was a triple-layer cake with thick frosting and decorated with colorful sprinkles. My mouth watered just looking at it! We all dug in and it tasted even more delicious than it looked. When we were finally stuffed from the amazing picnic food, my dad suggested we go explore the park a bit. Tommy and I jumped up, ready for our next adventure. We wandered along winding trails through the woods, stopping occasionally to skip rocks in the creek that ran through the park.Up ahead, we noticed a meadow filled with tons of colorful wildflowers. My mom pointed out different types like daisies, buttercups, and dandelions. We spent a long time frolicking through the meadow, picking bunches of flowers, and making daisy chains to wear as necklaces and crowns. On our way back to the picnic area, disaster struck! Tommy tripped and fell, dropping his flower crown which then rolleddown a steep hill. Without thinking twice, I raced after it, stumbling and tumbling down the hill getting grass stains all over my clothes. When I finally reached the bottom and retrieved Tommy's crown, I realized I was in a bit of a predicament. The hill looked awfully big from down there and I wasn't sure how to get back up! I started to panic a little but soon heard my parents calling for me from above."Don't worry! We're coming to get you!" my dad shouted. Very carefully, he started making his way down the hill towards me while my mom stayed at the top holding onto Tommy. Whew, I was so relieved when my dad reached me and scooped me up to carry me back to safety.Despite my little tumble, we all agreed it was an unforgettable fun-filled picnic day. We were already looking forward to planning our next picnic adventure! That night at bedtime, I looked at the flower crown hanging on my bedpost and smiled, remembering what a great day it had been. Between the delicious food, exciting games, pretty wildflowers, and a little dash of unexpected excitement, it was definitely one of the best picnics ever. I can't wait for more picnic fun with my family!篇5A Fun Picnic AdventureHi there! I'm going to tell you all about the coolest picnic I ever went on. It was last summer during our big family reunion. My mom, dad, little brother Tommy, and I drove out to a huge park with lots of trees, a playground, and even a little creek running through it. All my aunts, uncles, and cousins were coming too. We were so excited! When we got there, my dad and uncles spread out big blankets on the grass under some shady oak trees. Us kids ran around in circles, playing tag and burning off energy while the grown-ups unpacked the food. My mouth started watering when I saw all the tasty things they brought - fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans, rolls, watermelon, lemonade, and even homemade chocolate chip cookies for dessert! Yum yum! After we had stuffed ourselves with the delicious picnic feast, the parents declared it was time for the annual family softball game. The cousins split up into two teams and we played a hilarious game. Nobody really knew all the rules and we just kind of made them up as we went along. The bases were just jackets thrown down on the grass. We were laughing so hard the wholetime, cheering loudly and giving each other a hard time whenever someone missed an easy catch or struck out. My team ended up winning, but I'm pretty sure we bent the rules a little towards the end!The best part of the picnic was yet to come though. The moms had brought extras like ribbons, balloons, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and frisbees for after the game. My cousin Liam and I decided to explore down by the creek with our bubbles. We found the neatest little path that followed along the water's edge, with rocks and mud on one side and tall grass on the other. We were having a blast running back and forth, blowing bubbles at each other and popping them before they could hit us. At one point, Liam stepped on a wet patch of mud and his sandal got completely stuck! He lurched forward to pull it out and slipped, landing right in the water with an enormous SPLASH!I cracked up laughing at the stunned look on his soaking wet face. Liam just grinned and said "Worth it!" before throwing a handful of mud at me.Soon we were both covered in mud from head to toe having an epic mud fight. It was so much fun getting dirty and not having to worry about getting in trouble. Whenever one of us tried to run back up to the picnic area, the other would tacklethem back into the mud. We must have looked like a couple of mud monsters!Eventually my aunt spotted the two little mud pies rolling around and came down yelling at us about messing up our good clothes. We got sent to the bathrooms to hose off while she scolded us about responsibility and respecting our belongings. I felt a little bad because my clothes probably were ruined. But at the same time, I was grinning from ear to ear remembering how crazy and funny the mud fight had been. After we cleaned up, we headed over to join in the games of tag and frisbee happening on the grass. Liam kept shooting me looks and cracking up, making it hard for me to keep a straight face. Whenever our parents had their backs turned, we would giggle and reenact our most hilarious mud fight moments. I was already looking forward to next year's picnic and what kind of mischief we could get into!As the sun started going down, casting long shadows across the park, we all plopped down in the grass feeling happy and worn out from the busy day. The folks passed around the last of the lemonade while we kids worked on polishing off the cookies.I remember sitting back with my belly full, squinting in the golden sunshine, and feeling so grateful to be surrounded by mybig, silly family. The day had been absolutely perfect - tons of good food, sports, games and even a good old fashioned mud fight with my best cousin buddy. I couldn't wait to go home and tell my friends about the awesome picnic adventure!篇6The Best Picnic Ever!Last weekend was the best picnic I've ever had! It was so much fun and had me laughing the whole time. Let me tell you all about it.It started out on Saturday morning. My mom woke me up bright and early and said "Time to get ready for our picnic adventure!" I was so excited because we hadn't gone on a picnic in forever.I jumped out of bed and got dressed super fast in my favorite red t-shirt with the racecar on it and a pair of jean shorts.I put on my sneakers that can get really dirty because I knew we'd be running around a lot. For breakfast, I had a huge stack of pancakes to give me lots of energy for the big day. After breakfast, my mom, dad, little brother Tommy, and I all piled into the car. We had a huge cooler full of drinks and food inthe trunk, plus a big blanket to sit on, a soccer ball, frisbee, and some other outdoor toys. The car was totally packed! We drove for about an hour until we reached Oakwood Park. It's this massive park with tons of wide open fields, hiking trails, a creek you can play in, and a cool wooden playground. When we arrived, the sun was shining bright, there were puffy white clouds in the sky, and a nice breeze was blowing. Perfect picnic weather! My dad found the perfect picnic spot - a grassy area right next to the creek but up on a little hill. We spread out the big blanket and unpacked all our stuff. For lunch we had turkey sandwiches, baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, trail mix, oranges, and my favorite - strawberry tarts! Yum!After we ate, my dad turned on some music from a portable speaker. Then he and I kicked around the soccer ball for a while. I'm a pretty good soccer player but my dad is really tall so he could block most of my shots.Eventually we got a little too hot from running around, so we went down to the creek to go wading. The water was freezing cold at first when I stepped in. But after a few minutes it felt really refreshing. Tommy and I had a splash fight while my parents stayed on the shore to watch and make sure we didn't go too deep.Next, my dad and I went exploring along the hiking trails near the creek. We saw all kinds of cool things like birds, squirrels, deer tracks, and even a beaver dam! I tried to catch a frog but it got away before I could grab it.When we got back to our picnic area, my mom had the frisbee ready to go. She's really good at throwing frisbees and can make them curve in crazy ways. Tommy and I would chase after them and try batting them to each other back and forth. A few times the frisbee landed in the creek and we had to go fish it out, ha ha!After playing frisbee for a while, we decided to head over to the playground. I loved racing across the wooden bridges, going super high on the swings, and pretending to be a circus performer on the rings and bars. Tommy had a great time in the big sandbox making sand castles too.As the sun started to go down, we cleaned up all our stuff, shook out the blanket, and headed back to the car. We were totally worn out from the super fun day! I fell asleep about five minutes into the drive home. When we got back, my parents made us take baths to get all the sand, grass, and dirt off. I didn't mind though because it meant I could play in the tub for a while. Once I was all clean, Iput on my comfiest pajamas and snuggled up on the couch with some of the leftover strawberry tarts to watch a movie.I will never forget this picnic day! We played so many games, explored nature, ran around a ton, and best of all - spent amazing quality time together as a family. I can't wait for our next picnic adventure. Maybe we can even camp out overnight at the park next time. A girl can dream! Thanks mom and dad for making memories like these for me and Tommy.。
让我从一件事情学到某些道理的英语作文
让我从一件事情学到某些道理的英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1A Big Lesson From a Little AccidentOne day last summer, I was playing catch with my best friend Jake in his backyard. We were tossing a baseball back and forth, trying to throw it harder and harder each time. I was having so much fun just being outside on a nice sunny day and spending time with my buddy. At one point, Jake threw the ball really high over my head. I had to run back to try to catch it before it went over the fence into the neighbor's yard. As I was running backwards with my head turned up towards the sky watching the ball, I didn't see the big rock sticking up from the ground behind me. My foot got caught on it and I tripped and fell hard on my backside."Ouch!" I yelled, with tears starting to form in my eyes. The fall had really hurt and my first reaction was to just lay there crying. Jake came running over looking very worried and asking if I was okay. I was too shaken up to say anything at first. After a few minutes, the sharp pain settled into more of an ache and tingling sensation. I was finally able to get up, still whimpering a little. I pulled up my shorts and saw a large red scrape and bruise already starting to form on my skin. It looked like it was going to turn into a really bad bruise, maybe even break the skin and bleed. At that moment, I just felt really upset, embarrassed that I had fallen in front of my friend, and worried that the injury was going to be bad. Jake helped me limp inside to put some ice on it and clean off the scrape with alcohol wipes from the bathroom. His mom looked at it and said I was lucky I didn't break anything, but that it was going to be a nasty bruise for a while.Over the next few days, the bruise got really purple and swollen. It hurt to even lightly touch it and I had to be careful not to bump it on anything. I couldn't go swimming or play sports until it healed up. Looking at the big ugly bruise, I felt disappointed in myself for not being more careful and for letting one little mistake ruin my summer fun.But then, as the days went by, the bruise started shrinking and the swelling went down. The dark purple color turned into a more sickly yellow. And eventually, after what seemed like a longtime, the bruise faded away completely like it had never been there at all. My ability to run and play returned to normal.Dealing with that injury made me realize that our bodies are actually amazing at healing themselves if we give them the time and care they need. A bruise that had once seemed so big, painful and permanent was able to slowly disappear on its own until I forgot about it entirely.I think this experience taught me a few important lessons:Be more careful and pay attention, especially when having fun. One small mistake can lead to getting hurt if you're not looking where you're going. A few seconds of not being focused ended up costing me weeks of dealing with that awful bruise.Injuries and painful things often seem a lot worse at first than they really are in the long run. When I first fell, I thought my whole summer was ruined and that the pain would never go away. But it did go away with some basic care and time to heal. Our bodies are amazing and can bounce back from a lot if we have patience. What had seemed like a huge, permanent bruise eventually disappeared like it was no big deal. Our bodies want to heal and just need the right conditions.Don't get too disappointed or feel sorry for yourself when you make a mistake that leads to difficulties. Use it as a learning opportunity and then let go of the negative feelings once you've learned the lesson. Dwelling on my bruised ego wasn't helpful. So while getting that nasty bruise was very unpleasant and no fun at all, I'm grateful for what it taught me at a young age about safety, patience, resilience and not sweating the small stuff.A little accident left a big lesson - our bodies and minds can heal if we give them what they need. I'll always try to be more careful, but I know that if I do get banged up again, I have the toughness to get through it.篇2A Lesson Learned from Getting LostOne day after school, I was supposed to go straight home like I normally do. But that day, I had a different plan. My friend Timmy and I really wanted to explore the woods behind the elementary school. We had heard some older kids talking about how deep the woods went and how there were all sorts of cool things to find back there. Like little forts made from sticks and rocks, and maybe even a creek!Timmy and I decided we would just take a quick little adventure into the woods after our parents thought we were home. We figured we would go in for like an hour tops, find some awesome stuff, and then be back before anyone ever knew we had gone somewhere we weren't supposed to go.When the final bell rang, instead of lining up with my class, I snuck around to the back of the school where Timmy was waiting for me. We giggled as we made our way to the tree line and entered the woods. At first, we were just having a total blast. We found a cool fallen log that made an awesome bridge over a tiny stream. We balanced across it and looked at all the little fish and rocks in the clear water below. Then a little farther in, we spotted a woven pile of sticks and leaves that really did look like a little fort! We hunkered down inside of it and began plotting our next move as great explorers. That's when we heard a rustle in the distance. We both froze. My heart started pounding out of my chest. What if it was a bear or a wolf or something?!We waited in silence for what felt like forever, but nothing else happened. Still, I didn't feel like continuing our journey at that point. I suggested we head back towards the school. But when we turned around, everything looked exactly the same inevery direction! The trees all looked alike, the ground was just leaves and dirt. I couldn't even remember which way we had come from.Timmy and I started calling for help, but no one could hear us all the way back here. We tried walking in different directions, but just kept going in circles or getting turned around again. As time went on, I became totally overcome with fear. The woods seemed to be getting darker and colder. I thought we might actually be stuck out here all night in the pitch black! I could hardly even breathe I was so scared. After what felt like hours but was probably only 30 minutes or so, we finally saw a clearing ahead. We booked it through the trees as fast as our legs could take us until we finally emerged on the baseball field behind the school! I had never been so relieved in my entire life. We found our way out, but we were in serious trouble. When my parents arrived at the school after receiving a call that I never made it home, I had never seen them look so worried, angry and relieved all at the same time. I felt absolutely terrible for putting them through that. On the car ride home, they laid into me about how dangerous it was to go into the woods aloneand how they had been sick with panic thinking something awful had happened to me.I learned so many lessons that day. The biggest one was that going into the woods alone without my parents' permission was wildly unsafe and flat out stupid. It showed that I made very poor choices and put myself in real danger by disregarding their rules.I also saw how much fear, worry and grief I had caused my parents by being dishonest and sneaking off. I vowed never again to be such a foolish decision maker and to start being way more appreciative of how much they cared about keeping me safe.Getting lost in those woods was one of the scariest experiences of my life, but it really did teach me such an important lesson at a young age. Looking back, I understand now that all of my parents' rules are put in place to protect me and keep me from harm. They give me those boundaries not to be mean, but because they love me. From that day on, I had a much better understanding of why we have rules, and why it's so critical to follow them. I felt incredibly grateful that my little adventure ended with just a huge scare rather than severe consequences. I finally realized that my parents were simply doing their job by keeping me safe and secure.I learned that fear, remorse, appreciation and wisdom can come from even the silliest childhood mistakes and missteps. Getting lost in those woods was something that really shook me. But it shook me in a good way - shaking me awake to understand how obedience, honesty and listening to my parents is so crucial. It was a tough lesson, but one I'll never forget. And I'm so thankful my parents were there to forgive me and guide me, even after I had disobeyed them so recklessly. From that point on, I strived every day to make smarter, more mature decisions and be worthy of their trust in me. All from simply getting lost that one autumn day.篇3A Lesson Learned the Hard WayOne day after school, I was feeling really bored. Mom was still at work and Dad was running errands, so I didn't have anything to do. I flopped down on the couch and turned on the TV, flipping through channels mindlessly. After a while, I got tired of watching TV and decided to go play outside instead.I knew I wasn't supposed to go out in the backyard by myself when my parents weren't home, but I did it anyway. I figured it would be fine as long as I stayed in our fenced backyard anddidn't wander off. I grabbed my basketball and went out the back door, dribbling around and shooting some hoops. After playing basketball for a little while, I got bored again. I looked over at our big oak tree and got an idea. I'd climbed that tree tons of times before with my dad spotting me, but never by myself. Still, I was feeling adventurous and decided to give it a try.Climbing the tree was easier than I expected at first. I shimmied up the trunk, finding footholds in the grooves of the bark. The lowest branches were pretty high up, but I managed to pull myself up and straddle one of them. From there, I crawled further out on the branch toward the middle of the tree. That's when things started to go wrong. The branch was getting narrower the further out I went, and it started bending under my weight. I heard an ominous cracking sound that made my heart jump into my throat. Suddenly, the branch snapped and I was falling!I hit the ground hard, the wind getting knocked out of me. Luckily, the branch I was on wasn't too high up and the grass helped soften my fall a little. But my left arm was bent at an unnatural angle and the pain was unbelievable. I'd definitely broken it.Crying and cradling my dangling arm, I hobbled back inside the house. I was so scared and felt like the biggest idiot ever. I'd put myself in this situation by disobeying my parents and doing something reckless just because I was bored. Waiting for them to come home felt like an eternity. When Mom and Dad finally got back, they were horrified to find me on the couch, bruised and tear-stained with my arm bent like a broken twig. Mom rushed me to the emergency room right away while Dad called the doctor. After getting x-rays, the doctors confirmed that I had a displaced fracture in my forearm and would need a cast for several weeks.Throughout the whole ordeal of getting my arm set and put in a cast, I felt so ashamed of myself. Not just because I'd broken a major rule by going outside alone, but because my foolish actions had really scared and inconvenienced my parents. I could see the worry and disappointment in their faces. They had trusted me, and I'd betrayed that trust in the worst way.Over the next several weeks as my arm healed, I had a lot of time to dwell on what I'd done. Having a big clunky cast on my arm was a constant reminder of how one thoughtless decision had led to painful consequences. I couldn't do a lot of normal activities like get dressed by myself, take a real bath, or playsports. Even basic things like writing were difficult with my dominant hand immobilized. What I learned from that whole experience went far beyond just being more careful about tree climbing and following rules. I realized how our choices have a ripple effect that can impact the people around us in ways we might not immediately see. My decision to climb that tree alone had seemed harmless at the time, but it ended up causing my parents a lot of anxiety, medical bills, and a mess to clean up. I felt horrible knowing I'd put them through that because I got restless and bored for a few hours. The harder lesson I had to learn was about accountability and responsibility. Up until that point, I'd usually just gotten a slap on the wrist for any misbehavior. A broken arm was a far harsher consequence than I'd ever faced before. It made me appreciate how lucky I was that my parents were so patient and caring, but also that I needed to start being more responsible and thinking through my actions more carefully. From then on, I made an effort to be more mindful about following rules and thinking ahead to how my behavior could impact others. I learned that "I was bored" was no excuse to do something reckless that could endanger myself or cause trouble for the people who loved me. That experience was a wake-up callto start taking accountability and being worthy of the trust my parents placed in me. Some lessons just have to be learned the hard way, through painful experiences that leave you sadder but wiser.。

Though the place was not pleasant and disagreeable to other people, they were the very things that fascinated my father---its unexplored, uncultivated natural state, and the challenge. The attractions were irresistible to my father, just like the legendary siren song to sailors.2."I'm afraid the day's going to catch us," I explained, wondering what great disaster might befall us if it did.“我怕天就要黑了,”我解释到,心里想天真的黑了,会有什么样更大的灾难降临到我们头上。

The Woods Were Tossing With JewelsBy Marie St. John
1-3 introducing the setting of the story, providing necessary background information4.7
A Fun Family Picnic in the Forest ParkLast Saturday was such an exciting day! My mom, dad, little sister Emma, and I went on a picnic in the big Forest Park near our house. We hadn't been there in a really long time, so I was super pumped to go explore the woods and have a yummy picnic lunch there. The morning started off a little rocky though. Emma was being really fussy and didn't want to get dressed to leave. She screamed and cried like a baby when Mom tried to put her shoes on. "No shoes! No picnic!" she yelled, kicking her little feet. Mom sighed and gave her a stern look. "Emma Rose, we're all going on this picnic as a family. Now put your shoes on right now, young lady."Finally Emma calmed down after Dad promised she could pick out her own snacks to bring. She loaded up her little backpack with pouches of fruit snacks, bags of pretzels, and a juice box. Once she had her backpack all set, she was suddenly really excited to go. I smiled, relieved that the morning meltdown was over.We loaded up the picnic basket with sandwiches, carrot sticks, grapes, bottles of water, and even some cookies for dessert. Dad carried the big cooler with soda and ice pops in it. The picnic supplies filled up the whole trunk of our car! I could tell this was going to be an awesome picnic. When we arrived at Forest Park, the first thing I noticed was the amazing pine tree smell. The parking lot was right next to a huge area of tall, woody pine trees. I took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh scent. "Ah, smells like adventure!" I exclaimed excitedly.Dad laughed at my enthusiasm. "You got that right, buddy. Let's find the perfect picnic spot!"We headed down one of the hiking trails into the shaded, cooler woods. Tall oak and maple trees towered overhead, their branches swaying gently in the breeze. Squirrels darted back and forth, scampering up and down the tree trunks. Birds sang sweet melodies, their songs echoing through the peaceful forest. After about ten minutes of walking, we came across a grassy clearing encircled by the leafy trees. A small stream even ran along the edge of the clearing, bubbling happily over rocks and pebbles."This is perfect!" Mom declared, putting down the heavy picnic basket. "Let's set up camp here!"Emma and I worked together to spread out the big checkered blanket on the soft grass. My dad got out the cooler and placed it in a shady corner under a large oak tree to keep it cool. Mom unpacked all the yummy food and set it out so we could make our plates.Once everything was all set, we dug into the picnic feast. The sandwiches were stacked high with turkey, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. So crispy and delicious! Mom had also made an amazing pasta salad with tri-colored spiral noodles, black olives, and parmesan cheese. I couldn't get enough of it.After we had our fill of sandwiches and pasta salad, we played around in the clearing for a bit. Dad showed Emma and me how to skip rocks across the stream. Emma thought it was so cool when the flat rock bounced off the water's surface multiple times before sinking. Then we played a game of double frisbee, tossing it back and forth across the clearing. Whenever someone missed a catch, we all had to do five jumping jacks as a little exercise penalty. By the end, we were all a little sweaty but still smiling and laughing together. For dessert, we devoured the chocolate chip cookies Mom had baked fresh that morning. They were so warm and gooey in the middle. I stained my shirt a little with some crumbs and chocolate but I didn't even care. Those cookies were too good! After our tummies were full from the delicious picnic food, Dad suggested we go on a short hike deeper into the forest. Mom strapped Emma into the kid backpack carrier, and off we went down another forested trail. We saw so many amazing sights on our walk - a crumbly old stump covered in bright green moss, a family of deer quietly grazing, a crystal clear pond surrounded by wildflowers. At one point, a scruffy groundhog waddled right across the trail in front of us! Emma squealed with delight, making thewoodpecker high up in a tree take flight. On the hike back, I found the coolest looking walking stick. It had a slick, curved handle and unique patterns carved into the wood. "Mom, Mom! Can I keep this?" I asked excitedly, spinning it around in my hands. She laughed and said I could, as long as I promised not to accidentally whack my sister with it.By the time we got back to the car at the trailhead, Emma had fallen asleep in the backpack,。
