二、学情分析本班学生经过近两年的学习,大部分同学养成了较良好的学习习惯。
上课能跟随老师的思维和调动投入课堂,积极思考。
部分同学有较强的表达欲望,有一定的创新思维和批判性思维能力。
但同时有较大面积的学生不善于表达,习惯于听课记笔记,不主动发言,导致课堂参与度不理想,需要进一步调动提高。
另一方面,随着八年级学习难度增加,本班少数同学畏难并懈怠,导致两极分化较为严重。
本班的另一个显著特征是优生很少,班级缺乏带动和引领,学习氛围需进一步培养。

教学过程:一、问候与导入通过与学生做对话,对话内容从问学生我们现在正在做什么开始,再问学生昨天的这个时候,上周的这个时候正在做什么,然后通过图片过度到当一些中国的重大历史事件发生的时候,他们正在做什么,导入到美国的两大历史事件的图片中,让学生通过看图片和标题猜出本文是有关什么。
设计意图:通过对话和图片及猜测的方法,既起到复习过去进行时的作用又能引起学生阅读文章的兴趣。

本单元以“Unforgettable events”为话题展开教学活动,学习和运用过去进行时让学生能描 述过去正在发生的事情。本单元话题内容贴近学生生活,是与学生的实际密切相关,是学生愿 意谈论并有话可说的话题,能够轻松地激起学生学习英语的兴趣,从而提高学生英语学习水平。 2a-2b 是阅读教学板块。阅读文章以重大的突发事件为背景,通过人们的回忆讲述过去正在 发生的事。2a 让学生通过看插图和标题预测文章的内容,这既是一个阅读前的预热活动,也同 2b 的阅读任务相联系,同时也是本单元阅读策略的一项重要内容。2c 要求学生对文章的具体信 息进行判断。2d 是较为深入的阅读理解,涉及到句子形式的变化与语义关系的对应。2d 是就文 章细节的互相提问与检测。 3a-3b 是一个完整的写作板块,但是本单元的写作与阅读文章的联系更为密切。学生在阅读 之后, 通过 3a 把学过的语言回答问题的形式进行梳理, 再按照 3b 的写作框架提示完整地描写一 件难忘且重要的事,说明时间、地点、事件过程以及为什么自己记得这么清楚。 ☆学情分析 学生在八年级上册的学习中已经接触了篇幅较长的阅读文章,不仅学习了一些阅读策略,而且 有了一定的文本解读能力。在此基础上,让学生进一步练习不同的阅读策略,并在阅读的过程 中提高文化意识、获得情感体验。另外,本学期的阅读课开始渗透以读促写教学,单元写作与 阅读文章的练习较为密切,学生把阅读中学过的语言和知识进行梳理,结合阅读文本的结构, 按照写作框架提示进行写作训练,从而提高写作能力。 ☆ 教学目标 1. a. b. 2. 知识技能目标 能通过本篇章多种阅读策略的学习掌握所传递的信息。 以读促写,学生在阅读后能用英语叙述一件令人难忘的事情。 情感态度目标培养学生热爱和平、珍惜生活的思想品质精神。

(1)通过文章标题和插图等获取文章的主旨大意,训练学生快速阅读的技巧。
(2)训练学生运用扫读,快速获取相关信息的能力。
(3)学会谈论当重大事件发生的时候正在进行的动作,也就是过去进行时的运用。
(4)能简单复述文章。

(1)了解美国民权运动领袖马丁·路德·金

四、Teaching steps(教学步骤)
Step1. 热身活动
Free talk:
---What were you doing at8:00 last night?
----I was doing my homework.
老师问三四名学生,然后问What was he/ she doing? 转换到第三人称。
设计意图:复习过去进行时,同时练习听说。
Step2. Lead-in(导入:读前)
A. 大屏幕展示马丁路德金的视频,直接导入。
1. T:Do you know this man?
S1: No.
S2: Yes. Martin Luther King.
T: Yes, very good. Let’s read a short introduction about him.
2. 给出马丁.路德.金的简单介绍.
B. 大屏幕展示飞机撞击世贸大厦的视频
T:Do you know this famous building?
S1: No.
T: It’s WTC, World Trade Center.
设计意图:快速地把学生引入将学的知识中。
Step3. Reading Strategy: Skimming(略读)
(1) Reading the Title and the First Sentences (Work on 2a)
T: One of the reading skills is to read the title of the passage – this helps you understand the text. It is also a good idea to read the first sentence of each paragraph before you read the whole text.
(2)The first reading (Work on 2b)
T: Read the whole passage quickly and find the answers to the two questions.
1.What are the two events in the passage?
2.When did they happen?
学生开始快速阅读文章,老师可以在课室走动,一边监督学生阅读文章,一边给予相
应的指导。
尤其是阅读技巧的指导。
学生完成后,找学生回答问题。
(3)The second reading (Work on 2c)
T: Read the passage again and finish 2c. Read the statements and decide if they are true, false, or the information is not given.
学生继续开始快速阅读文章,同理的,老师可以在课室走动,一边监督学生阅读文章,一边给予相应的指导。
学生完成后,给出相应的答案。
(4)The third reading (Work on 2d)
T: Ok, after reading for two times, we have known the main idea of the passage
Now, let’s read the third time and try to finish 2d.
学生再一次开始快速阅读文章,老师可以仍然需要在课室走动,一边监督学生阅读文章,一边给予相应的指导。
学生完成后,在文章找出相关的答案。
设计意图:通过重复几遍地阅读文章,让学生对文章有个整体的了解,便于接下来的精读学习。
Step4. Intensive reading ( 精读 ) (The fourth reading)
T: Let’s read the passage paragraph by paragraph.
对于相关知识点,在黑板上给出清楚的板书。
设计意图:精读能让学生对文章有更深层次的把握,便于接下来的复述练习。
Step5. Retelling(复述)
教师给出文章的简单叙述,抽掉一些空,方便学生的完成
