从上面的几组形容词的比较级和最高级的变化情况中,我们可以初步看出这样的规律:最高级的变化情况可分为两大类:第一类是单音节词和部分双音节词;第二类是多音节词和部分双音节词。

现在进行时除表示正在进行的动作外,还可以表示将来时。

现在进行时表将来时常有“意图”、“安排”或“打算”等含义,是比较生动的一种表达,给人一种期待感。

它的构成和现在进行时一样,都为be+V-ing。

例:①I'm going;我要走了。

②When are you starting?你什么时候动身?③I'm meeting you after class.课后我找你。

④What are you doing next sunday?下星期你打算干什么?⑤When I grow up,I'm joining the army.我长大了要参军。

※表将来的现在进行时有时含有“决心”的意思,多用在否定结构中。

例:①I'm not going.我不走了。

②I'm not waiting any longer.我不再等了。

vacation n.假期。

一般表示比较长的假期。

常用的词组有:on vacation/for vacation(在度假)、the summer vacation(暑假)、take a vacation(休假)。

holiday n.假日。

一般表示时间可长可短的假期或节日,是可数名词。

与数词连用时只表示假期的次数,不表示日期。

例:We have three long holidays every year.我们每年有三个长假。

(“三天的假期”应说:a holiday of three days或a three days’holiday)至于寒、暑假,英国人喜欢用summer/winter holidays(holiday与季节连用时多用复数),美国人则喜欢用summer/winter vacation,区别不大。

sound是一个感官动词,后面跟形容词表语。

这些动词后面也可接介词like短语,like后面常用名词。
