Module 3Interpersonal Relationships-Friendship(建议用时25分钟)Ⅰ.阅读理解AFirst of all,I believe that in order to get something we must be willing to give. And it works with love, too. The more of it you give away, the more you get it back from others.Secondly,I am convinced that love is not only a feeling,it is also an attitude. So,if you want to attract love into your life, you must be willing to think about it and welcome it.Most people would not agree with me on __that__.They would say that they do think about it more than anything else. But what kind of state are you in when you think about it? Most ladies when they turn 24~30 become hopeless. They tell themselves and sometimes others that they are missing the chance and most probably will never get married.Their focus is in the wrong area. This only strengthens their disappointment and doubts.Thirdly, you have to learn how to love yourself.Too many people hate themselves. How can they expect that others will love them? You change the focus by looking at how wonderfully God made you.You are beautiful in His eyes and you must love yourself.Fourthly, love comes when you learn how to forgive others.Do not keep hate in your heart for it will destroy your ability to receive and give love.Try to forgive the person or people who have offended(冒犯)you.Fifthly,do some love actions.Very often love is there, but you have to express it.Do something good for other people.Do something nice for the person whom you have warm feelings for.Do not rely only on thoughts and words.Move to actions and love will be there. So I do believe that thoughts on love can inspire you to have the most desirable quality of life in the world.[语篇解读]生活中,每个人都想得到爱,但如何得到呢?对此,作者提出了五条建议。

Ⅰ.阅读填空Ways to Keep Your FriendsFor many high school students, our graduation date appears like a ticking time bomb(定时炸弹)for friendships we’ve had since kindergarten. 1.Video chat. Let’s do the obvious one first:FaceTime. I think that seeing your friend’s face is a necessity you don’t really need me to point out, but talking to your friends keeps the friendship going! If the phone call isn’t full of deep conversation, that’s fine. 2.Keep sharing everything. 3. Despite the thousand-mile distance between my best friend and me, she knows everything about the crushes(迷恋) I’ve had, the teachers I’ve hated and the assignments that have kept me up past 3 am. It takes me 10 seconds to send a text. It’s a lot easier to pretend to stay with your friend.Presents!Take a minute to admire the efficiency of the US postal system and send your friend a gift! This is a fun one and a must. Picking it out will make your day, and getting it will make his or her day. 4. And the thought doesn’t have to disappear if the miles between you grow. If anything, this will help the distance feel even less important.5.Realize that people change and that your friends won’t stay the same no matter how much you want them to. College is a time for people to discover parts of themselves that may have been dormant(潜伏的)in high school, and your friend might start to seem more and more like a different person. Give advice and help him or her keep a level head, but realize that going with the flow might sometimes work in your favor.A.Spare no details, no matter how unimportant.B.Be ready for growth.C.E-mail or chat online.D.It’s always the thought that counts.E.The ways to keep your friends are listed as follows.F.Appreciating the gift really means you’ve your friends deep in heart.G.Sometimes friendship is just knowing someone’s on the other end of the line.语篇导读本文为说明文。

high school years, the most important thing was what I was wearing to the Friday night dance and who I was taking.Although college was talked about,it was the least of my worries. When I was graduating eighth grade and starting high school,my older brother was graduating twelfth grade and going onto college. For my graduation,he gave me a card in which he wrote,“Enjoy your four years...They go by fast.” I remember not believing him then, but looking back...He was right. Those four years shaped who I was as a person, pushed me to my limit and encouraged me to become an adult. However,I was so completely absorbed in my junior and senior years of high school, that when someone spoke of college I brushed it off.I wasn’t ready to leave my comfort zone of having all of my closest friends together and knowing what every single day was going to be like.Studying was something I did only AFTER I nailed my halftime dance performance.I knew my parents wanted me to go to college,so I told them I would go to community college (社区学院) and I didn’t worry about my SAT (美国大学入学考试) scores. When my senior year passed and everyone graduated and went off to their own colleges,I started to wish I had done the same.My friends were living away, meeting new people, and discovering new places, while I was living at home and driving to and from class every day.It seemed exactly like high school.I 课时规范练33(选修6Module3)Ⅰ.阅读理解(2017·北京卷)It was a cold March day in High Point,North Carolina. The girls on the Wesleyan Academy softball team were waiting for their next turns at bat during practice, stamping their feet to stay warm.Eighth-grader Taylor Bisbee shivered(发抖) a little as she watched her teammate Paris White play. The two didn’t know each other well —Taylor had just moved to life and death,” says Taylor.Taylor’s swift action helped her teammates calm down. One girl called 911.Two more ran to get the school nurse, who brought a defibrillator,an electronic devices(器械) that can shock the heart back into work.Luck stayed with them:Paris’s heartbeat returned.“I know I was really lucky,” Paris says now.“Most people don’t survive this.My team saved my life.”Experts say Paris is right:For a sudden heart failure, the single best chance for survival is having someone nearby step in and do CPR quickly.Today,Paris is back on the softball team.Taylor will apply to college soon. She wants to be a nurse.“I feel more confident in my actions now,” Taylor says.“I know I can act under pressure in a scary situation.”1.What happened to Paris on a March day?A.She caught a bad 2019届高考英语(外研版)一轮复习练习选修6 3 Module3知能演练轻松闯关Word版含解析Ⅰ阅读理解A(2018·惠州高三调研考试)Following the crowd may not always be ina person’s best interest. But new research suggests that teens who get alongwith their friends may end up healthier as adults.Scientists have known that close friendships help boost health. That’strue for both teens and adults. The finding inspired Joseph Allen, a psychologist at the University of Virginia, and his team to study whether experiences during teen years would influence adult health. So they followed 171 teens, starting when the kids were just 13. They interviewed each one every year for five years,a nd also spoke to these teens’ closest friends, who provided additional information about the quality of their friendships. The same 171 people were interviewed again at ages 25, 26 and 27. This time, the questions surveyed each person’s overall health. When the researchers analyzed the data, they found a strong connection between a teen’s behavior and adult health. Teens who had close friends grew up to be the healthier adults. Whether teens held back their feelings or expressed them to close friends also influenced later health. Those who held back their feelings were more likely to be sick as adults. The connection held up even after the scientists accounted for other possible influences on health.Weight, family income and drug use were all examined. So were mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression. And in these people, such other factors did not explain adult health as well as teen friendships did.Getting along with the crowd may have benefits, says Allen, but there are also drawbacks. Teens who are more independent tend to do better at school and work. And peer pressure may lead some kids to engage in risky behavior, such as smoking, drinking or using drugs. Dealing with it is an ongoing challenge,Allen acknowledges. “Finding the right balanc e is the key. Teens shouldn’t lose heart for not finding this easy.”And, he adds,“Parents need to be understanding about the pressures teens face.”【解题导语】研究表明,与朋友较少或者没有朋友的青少年相比,有朋友的青少年在长大后更健康。

You might want something someone else has, or feel like they're happier than you. It might seem like an uncontrollable emotion, but it's truly not!Remember your big accomplishments. If your coworker gets the promotion you wanted, it doesn't mean you haven't done great work. List out your accomplishments and think about how you got them and what you've done since then. You'll quickly find that you're just as worthy as the person you're envying!Appreciate your own good fortune. Think of where you are in your life and how you got there. Did you just buy your first car? Are you able to save one paycheck each month? Are you surrounded by loving family and amazing friends? You have a lot of good things, and you have a lot of good fortune coming your way. Stop letting jealousy eat you alive and realize that you can better spend that energy in furthering your own success and happiness.Appreciate that others can do what you can't. How boring would life be if everyone was the same? What if the entire population of your city was applying for your job, and they all had the same qualifications? Appreciate that everyone is different. Some people are better in powerful management positions, while maybe you're better working with people. A friend might be an excellent artist—a quality you're envious of, but don't forget that you're a great musician! Acknowledge that people need to be different, need to be better at various things.语篇导读:嫉妒心理会在不知不觉间影响我们的生活和人际关系,本文给出了几条建议帮你消除嫉妒心理.1.Jealousy is an emotion that ________.A.you feel others do better than youB.can go into your soul without being noticedC.is positive enough to make yourself do betterD.makes you as worthy as the person you're envying答案:B细节理解题.根据文章第一段第一句“Jealousy is a horrible feeling that weeds its way into your life and relationships before you know it.”可知,嫉妒是一种不知不觉便可侵入灵魂的情感.故选B项.2.We should appreciate that others can do what you can' t, because ________.A.you can further your own success and happinessB.things in the world are variousC.the entire population of your city is applying for your jobD.you're worthless compared to anyone else答案:B细节理解题.根据文章最后一段的“Appreciate that others can do what you can't. 课时作业(二十八)题型组合练——练速度(限时:30分钟)Ⅰ.阅读理解ADespite growing up in Croydon and Liverpool, neither Grace nor Paul felt at home in the city. After meeting at Staffordshire's Keele University, they fell in love with Skye on a geology field trip in 1979.“The island is only 50 miles north to south, but the variety of terrain(地形) and wildlife is impressive,” says Paul.Grace adds,“We both loved Gavin Maxwell's Ring of Bright Water and were really passionate about otters(水獭).It was our dream to get away from the rat race, get married and run wildlife holidays and courses on Skye.”Five years and 29 loan applications later, they moved to Skye. They were relieved to say goodbye to crowds and traff ic and found that the island (population: about 20,000) attracts like-minded people.“A lot of musicians and craftspeople move here, looking for peace,” says Grace. After locals started bringing them injured animals, they built a wildlife hospital and have since cared for 170 otters.Paul has gained a PhD in otter ecology and they've set up the International Otter Survival Fund (),which supports conservation projects worldwide.Their three kids had carefree childhoods in a tight-knot community.“We could give them lots of freedom because people watch out for each other's children here,” Grace explains. She continues,“We go to Inverness (a town in northern Scotland) about once a year for a concert, but otherwise everything we want is here. You have to be mentally and practically self-sufficient.We built a metal shed (小屋),but that took off in the 90 mph winds.Anything not built solidly will leave. It's often very dark and wet from November to March, which can be quite depressing. If there's wind and rain at the same time,no amount of waterproof clothing will keep you dry.But we make up for it in the summer. With the long days, there's nowhere better.”Paul concludes,“There's something so special about living here and having a sense of belonging.”[语篇解读]本文是一篇记叙文。

第三段的get away from the rat race 点明了他们的动机。

答案:CB“De-extinction”,the idea that extinct (绝种的) animals can be brought back through cloning or genetic (基因的) engineering, has attracted the interest of a small group of scientists. The topic has made the cover of National Geographic Magazine. Supporters say they are doing it for moral reasons and because we “miss” the extinct animals. They blame human exploitation (such as trapping, hunting, habitat destruction ) of the extinct animals, but their plans, though they sound exciting, are exploitation in another form.Considering the imperfect science of cloning, de-extinction would cause animalssuffering. Most animals born of such experiments would suffer serious diseases, dying soon after birth or having a shortened lifetime. Spanish and French scientists worked for years to bring the Pyrenean ibex, a species of wild goat, back from extinction by cloning. In 2009, they succeeded only in producing a sick baby goat that died 10 minutes after birth. For these animals to be born, other animals would live in captivity, in a lab or elsewhere, and serve as mother substitutes (代用品),routinely having operations as part of the cloning process. For example, elephants would be kept in captivity to carry woolly mammoth (猛犸) babies for nearly two years. Such experiments often lead to other animals' unhappiness as well.If extinct animals are successfully brought back, where would they go? Their original habitats have developed and changed without them. They are unlikely to survive in the natural environment, but, if they do manage to survive, they will affect their environment in unpredictable ways, presenting a new threat to the ecological system. If the animals born through de-extinction are stuck in zoos and museums instead, what good is that? It is exploitation, not a solution. It would be better to apply creative thinking about protection to the real-life problems of today's world. De-extinction takes attention away from the difficult situation of endangered animals. Discussions about woolly mammoth cloning do nothing to stop the illegal killings of endangered wild African elephants. Money would be better used to prevent human conflict with wildlife and their ecosystems.Let's keep de-extinction in the world of science fiction, learn from our failed past, and protect wild animals and their habitats for the future.[语篇解读]本文为一篇议论文。
