Fundament of Industrial EngineeringModule syllabus1.Unit descriptionFundament of Industrial Engineering is one of the main courses in industrial engineering. IT is the first professional course. This course mainly introduces the basic concept of industrial engineering and work study. Work study is the important part of the Fundament of Industrial Engineering. Work study consists of two components: the first part is method study, the second is work measurement. Method study is regarded as a systematic approach to finding easier and better way to accomplish a task. Method study mainly includes process analysis, operation analysis and motion analysis. Work measurement mainly includes time study, work sampling and predetermined time systems The objective of any work measurement method is to determine the standard time. This course provides students with a basis for later study.After this course, students should have an understanding of Fundament of Industrial Engineering. Students will have the ability to solve the practical problem with these skills and knowledge.After completion of the course, students will be able to:●Understand the definition of Industrial engineering.●Establish the consciousness of industrial engineering●Understand the methods of method study●Understand the methods of work measurement●Solve the practical problem with these skills and knowledge.2. Being late to class within 15 minutes will be recorded as 1 LATE and being late over 15 minutes will be recorded as 1 ABSENCE. 3 LATES equal to 1 ABSENCE. 20% absences of the total teaching hours will cause an F (a failing grade) directly. However, students are still welcome to continue to attend class. F students have no right to drop this course anymore. Each unexcused absence will result in the lowering of the attendance grade by 1 point. Each excused absence will result in the lowering of the attendance grade by 0.5 point.Participation PolicyStudents should participate in their chosen classes actively and effectively. The Participation Grad e is related to the Attendance Grade.
