Directions: Listen to the passage(s) three times. When the passage is read for the first time, listen for the general idea. When the passage is read for the second time, fill in the blanks numbered from S1 to S7 with the exact words you hear. For blanks numbered from S8 to S10, write down either the exact words you hear or the main points in your own words. When the passage is read for the third time, check your answers.

Questions 1 to 10 are based on the following passage or dialog.

In a powerful new Mercedes a married couple are driving along a highway S1 (1)60 miles per hour, the wife behind the S2 (2) .

Her husband suddenly looks over at her. From the S3 (3)of his voice and the S4 (4)on his face, it's obvious he's enjoying this moment. He says, "S5 (5) , I've got a surprise for you. I know we've been married for 20 years, but I want a S6 (6) ."

Again the wife stays quiet, but speeds up as her rage increases.
