摘要：PURPOSE:To execute stable development against an environmental variation by carrying a magnetic developer containing a specified silica fine powder, in a prescribed thickness on a developing carrier body, transferring it to an electrostatic image holding body, and executing the development in a developing part. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic developer 6 containing a silica fine powder which is generated by the vapor phБайду номын сангаасse oxidation of a silicon halogen compound shown by a general formula RmSiYn (R is an alkoxy radical or a chlorine atom, (m) is an integer of 1-3, Y is an unsaturated heterocyclic compound containing nitrogen or its derivative, and (n) is an integer of 3-1), and treated by a silan coupling agent is carried on a developer carrier body 2, the thickness of its layer is made thinner than the gap between the developer carrier body 2 and an electrostatic image carrier body 1, and it is transferred to the electrostatic image carrier body 1 and a development is executed in a developing part. This silica fine powder has an unsaturated cycle containing nitrogen, therefore, is excellent in hydrophobic property, and a stable development can be executed against an environmental variation such as high temperature and high humidity, and low temperature and low humidity, etc.
