Unit1写作课教案
Write a News Report
1. Teaching Objectives
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. Understand the key components of a news report.
2. Write a clear, coherent news report based on a given topic.
3. Use appropriate language and grammar in their writing.
4. Edit and revise their work effectively.
2. Key Points and Difficulties
1)Key Points:
1. Students will learn about the structure of a news report (headline, lead, body, and conclusion).
2. Students will practice writing different types of news reports (investigation, feature, and analysis).
3. Students will receive feedback on their writing from their peers and teacher.
4. Students will learn how to edit and revise their work for clarity and accuracy.
2)Difficulties:
1. Students may struggle with understanding the difference between a news report and other types of writing.
2. Some students may find it challenging to write objectively and without bias.
3. Students may need additional support in editing and revising their work.
3. Student Analysis
Most students have some experience with writing, but may not have worked on a news report before.
Many students are confident in their reading and speaking skills, but may struggle with writing in English due to grammar or vocabulary limitations.
Some students have strong opinions and may find it difficult to write objectively about a topic they don't agree with.
4. Teaching Process
1)Introduction (10 minutes)
Begin by introducing the topic of the news report and explaining what makes it different from other types of writing.
Distribute examples of different types of news reports (e.g., investigative, feature, analysis) for students to read and analyze.
2)Guided Practice (20 minutes)
Provide students with a short article or video clip related to a specific topic (e.g., climate change). Ask them to identify the key components of the article as a news report (headline, lead, body, conclusion). Then, ask them to write a brief summary of the article using these components as a guide.
Allow time for students to share their summaries with the class and provide feedback on their writing.
3)Independent Practice (20 minutes)
Instruct students to choose a topic of their choice and write a news report based on that topic (500 words max). They should include all four components of a news report: headline, lead, body, and conclusion. Encourage them to use appropriate language and grammar in their writing.
After students have finished writing, ask them to edit and revise their work for clarity and accuracy. Finally, ask them to share their final drafts with the class for feedback.
4)Closure (10 minutes)
Review the key points of the news report structure and encourage students to reflect on what they have learned during the lesson.
Assign homework for the next lesson, which will focus on analyzing different types of news reports and identifying strategies for effective writing.。
