Symbol(s) of Chinese Culture

As we all know, Chana has a very long history with abundant cultures. Today, I’ll introduce us two symbols of our Chinese culture.

The first one is Chinese Calligraphy. It is a form of calligraphy widely practiced and revered in the Chinese cultural sphere. The calligraphic tradition of East Asia originated and developed from China. Chinese painting and calligraphy distinguish themselves from other cultural arts because they emphasize motion and are charged with dynamic life. When the spring festival is coming, everyone put up Spring Festival couplets on the door, it seems as a symbol of Chinese spring festival. However, when you see the beautiful Chinese characters written by brush pen, you’ll suddenly come up with the tradition Chinese culture.

The second one is Confucius. He was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher of the Spring and Autumn period of Chinese history.Confucius is traditionally credited with having authored or edited many of the Chinese classic texts including all of the Five Classics. Nowadays, Confucius not only means himself, but also represent the traditional Chinese culture concept. And we can find a lot of Confucius’ schools around the world which provides platforms for the foreigners to learn the Chinese and the Chinese culture. So if you ask a foreigner who knows Chinese culture whether he knows Confucius or not, the answer must be yes.
