13. speak, say, talk, tell 的区别

（1） speak 强调说话的能力、方式和对象。作不及物动词时，后面常跟介词to,作及物动词时，后面一般跟表示语言的名词。

The baby is too young to speak .

(2) say指用语言表达思想，强调说的内容，说了什么。

She says it’s too hot .

The boy says goodbye to his parents when he goes to school .

表示“用某中语言说什么内容”要用 say sth in + 语言

(3 ) talk指与他人“交谈，讨论”，后面常与to, with搭配，表示“与、、、、、、交谈”，

也可和about 搭配，表示“谈论什么内容”

(4 ) tell 表示“告诉，讲述”，常构成短语：tell a story \ tell stories （讲故事）,

tell a lie （撒谎）, tell sb sth (告诉某人某事), tell sb to do sth （告诉某人做某事） , tell sb about sth (告诉某人某事)。

He often tells me some interesting stories about his hometown .

The teacher tells me to get some chalk（粉笔）.
