Letters and Telegrams take us back to the nostalgic 1times.The day of the commemoration 2of the Postal Service is thus celebrated by the United Nations on the October 9every year.The prime aim of the event is to introduce new postal services and techniques in the world.信件和电报把我们带回令人怀念的时代。

因此，联合国在每年10月9日庆祝邮政服务纪念日。

活动的主要目的是向全世界介绍新的邮政服务和技术。

The origin of the postal services dates back to the time when the horse driven cars and carts were used to send messages to people around the world in the 16th century and the 17th century.The idea of setting up a postal service came up in the year 1863when Montgomery Blair who was a Postmaster General in the United States of America called in conference 3of about 15countries both including U.S.A and Europe.Many policies 4were laid down during this meeting but no official agreement was made.邮政服务的起源可以追溯到16世纪和17世纪，那时人们用马车和手推车向世界各地的人们传递消息。

1863年，美国邮政局长蒙哥马利·布莱尔召集了包括美国和欧洲的15个国家举行了一个会议，提出了建立邮政服务的想法。

这次会议制定了许多政策，但没有达成正式协议。

In the month of September in 1874,a conference of about 22countries was held in Switzerland.Finally the General Postal Union was signed in the month of October.At last,the name was changed to Universal Postal Union in the year 1878.In 1969,Universal Postal Union signed the agreement to celebrate October 9th as the World Post Day.在1874年9月，约22个国家在瑞士召开了会议，最后在10月份成立了邮政总联盟。

最终，在1878年，这个联盟的名字改被为万国邮政联盟。

1969年，万国邮政联盟签署协议，将10月9日定为世界邮政日。
